• Do jQuery and JavaScript have different namespaces?

  I have this code in jQuery.. $(document).ready(function(){ var fieldCounter = 0; ... I have a jQuery function that increments this value. This works, but I can't access this value on the page from a non-jQuery function? The reverse is also true, if I scope it in JavaScript e.g. <script type="text/javascript"> var fieldCounter = 0; I can access it from javascript but jQuery can't view it? I'm probably doing something really dumb?

  Hello guys, I was hoping someone can shed some light on what might be occurring on my page. Okay what I currently have on my page is a simple form that collects first name, last name, city, state and email. Once submitted it will hit a PHP page that updates our DB and echo's back to the designted div with a class of .response. I am using jquery.validation and placing that dynamic function within the submitHandler like so: submitHandler: function(form) { $(form).ajaxSubmit({ target: '.response', // target element(s) to be updated with server response resetForm: true, success: function() { $('#commentform').hide(); $('.response').show(); } }); So what I am getting is a div that is not being populated with the echo from my php file in FF and in IE I am getting the message of thank you but the page is taking me to the update.php script in which I have the form action pointing to. • FreeLibrary vs implicit unloading DLL

  I have implemented a DLL including DllMain() entry function:- BOOL APIENTRY DllMain( HMODULE hModule, DWORD ul_reason_for_call, LPVOID lpReserved ) { case DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH: ... case DLL_THREAD_ATTACH: ... case DLL_THREAD_DETACH: ... case DLL_PROCESS_DETACH: ... } Unfortunately i made a mistake in DLL_PROCESS_DETACH case and accessing illegal memorey (access violation). I made a sample program which loads the library using LoadLibrary() function, uses the library function and finally call FreeLibrary() and return. When i executed this program, i didnt get any error message. But if i remove FreeLibrary(), in that case the DLL_PROCESS_DETACH case is executed implicitly and this time it gives error dialog box mentioning that there is access violation. Why calling FreeLibrary() suppress this error? OR internally it handles this exception? What is suggested way.

Question: Let say I have class A,B,C and D now class A has some piece of code which I need to have in class B,C and D so I am extending class A in class B, class C, and class D Now how can I access the function of class A in other classes, do I need to create an object of class A and than access the function of class A or as am extending A in other classes than I can internally call the function using this parameter. If possible I would really appreciate if someone can explain this concept with code sample explaining how the logic flows.

  Can't find a simple solution to this, I know it's easy and I've tried a few things but I can't quite get it to work. I'm currently working with a sidescrolling site and I want every time you click an image (contained in an li) it scrolls to the next li. I have jQuery plugin localscroll so it smoothly goes from one to the next, and that's working. I need to now write a code that triggers jQuery to utilize the localscroll function and go to the next li. But my problem is return of the function is appending the words. I want it as like follows: line = " I am feeling good , but I cant talk" Let "I,but,cant" are stopwords. After passing to the function , my output should be as "am feeling good , talk". What I a getting now is [['am','feeling','good','talk']]. Help me.

  I'm using Google Map APIv2. On my webpage I've a sidebar containing a list of markers with onclick event executing showDetails method, that looks like: GMarker.prototype.showDetails=function() { map.panTo(this.getLatLng()); this.openInfoWindowHtml(this.details); }; The problem is that i cannot both panTo and openInfoWindowHtml in one method, it pans but won't open tooltip and when i change method to: GMarker.prototype.showDetails=function() { this.openInfoWindowHtml(this.details); map.panTo(this.getLatLng()); }; it opens tooltip but won't center map to the marker's anchor coordinates. Even using wait function doesn't solve my problem. What am I doing wrong?

The content script handles the storage functionality (chrome.storage manipulation). • spl_object_hash for PHP < 5.2 (unique ID for object instances)

  I'm trying to get unique IDs for object instances in PHP 5+. The function, spl_object_hash() is available from PHP 5.2 but I'm wondering if there's a workaround for older versions. There are a couple of functions in the comments on php.net but they're not working for me.   I simply create a movie clip, put it on the stage and give it an instance name of char. Here's my document class, simple as can be: public class Test extends MovieClip { public function Test() { char.x = 1315; char.y = 459; addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, mouseListen); } private function mouseListen(e:Event) { char.x = mouseX; char.y = mouseY; } } And I get this error: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at com.me::Test/::mouseListen() How in the world is it possible that it knows what "char" is in the constructor but not in the mouseListen function? What else could it be?

  For some reason I can't pass a var inside a mysql statement. I have a function that can be used for multiple tables. So instead of repeating the code I want to change the table that is selected from like so, function show_all_records($table_name) { mysql_query("SELECT * FROM $table_name"); etc, etc... } And to call the function I use show_all_records("some_table") or show_all_records("some_other_table") depending on which table I want to select from at the moment. But it's not working, is this because variables can't be passed through mysql statements?

It make a call to a API function called set_relay, then the code has to wait before continuing until the event for set_relay event has completed. The set_relay is any Async call. i.e. void run_processes() { switch() { case EV_RELAY_SET: break; } } void config_relays() { set_relay(); /* Wait until EV_RELAY_SET has fired */ /* Cannot do init_relay until set_relay event has fired - has to block here */ init_relay(); } I guess I could put the init_relay() in the switch. However, that event is used for other things and not just for initializing the relay. I would really like to handle everything in the config_relays function. In C# you can do this by using autoreset.   I've got an AJAX transmission of a variable string in my primary coding language (Visual FoxPro 9) that looks like this: AjaxResponse = CREATEOBJECT("Custom") lcMessage = "<li class='hello'>Hello</li>" AjaxResponse.AddProperty("Reply", lcMessage) Response.ContentType = "text/html" Response.Write(AjaxResponse.Reply) While using the jQuery function .ajax() I've created a success: function that looks like this: $.ajax({ url: 'index?Proc=GetUuserHistory', dataType: "html", success: function(data){ $("div#history-text").text(data); }; }); My problem is that the text inserting into 'div#history-text' is unformatted and contains the li tags still. I've tried substituting the .text for .prepend, .append, and .html with no luck...is there a way to convert this string back to html format after its been received using Ajax?

Say I make an asynch ajax call like so: xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); xmlhttp.onreadystatechange= myFoo; xmlhttp.open("GET",url,true); Here is my callback function: function myFoo() { if (xmlhttp.readyState==4) { if (xmlhttp.status==200) { // Success message } else { // some error message } } } Now, where and when does the execution path start again? Once I make the call to open(), does execution continue directly below the open() and another "thread" enters the asynch function once the ajax request has been completed? Or, does the browser wait for the request to complete, make the Asynch call, and then execution continues right after the open? Thanks!

This is a common practice to call a javascript function when page is loaded like window.onload = function(){ alert("Mindfire") } or Inside of which is the code that we want to run right when the page is loaded. Problematically, however, the Javascript code isn't run until all images are finished downloading (this includes banner ads). The reason for using window.onload in the first place is due to the fact that the HTML 'document' isn't finished loading yet, when you first try to run your code.
