How to find if an Oracle APEX session is expired

I have created a single-sign-on system for our Oracle APEX applications, roughly based on this tutorial: http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/09-may/o39security.html The only difference is that my master SSO login is in Perl, rather than another APEX app. It sets an SSO cookie, and the app can check if it's valid with a database procedure. I have noticed that when I arrive in the morning, the whole system doesn't work. I reload a page from the APEX app, it then sends me to the SSO page because the session was expired, I logon, and get redirected back to my original APEX app page. This usually works except first thing in the morning. It seems the APEX session is expired. In that case it seems to find the session, but then refuse to use it, and sends me back to the login page. I've tried my best to trace the problem. The "wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.is_session_valid" function returns true, so I'm assuming the session is valid. But nothing works until I remove the APEX session cookie. Then I can log back in easily. Anybody knows if there is another call that would tell me if the session is expired or not? Thanks

Is HttpContextWrapper all that....useful?

I've been going through the process of cleaning up our controller code to make each action as testable. Generally speaking, this hasn't been too difficult--where we have opportunity to use a fixed object, like say FormsAuthentication, we generally introduce some form of wrapper as appropriate and be on our merry way. For reasons not particularly germaine to this conversation, when it came to dealing with usage of HttpContext, we decided to use the newly created HttpContextWrapper class rather than inventing something homegrown. One thing we did introduce was the ability to swap in a HttpContextWrapper (like say, for unit testing). This was wholly inspired by the way Oren Eini handles unit testing with DateTimes (see article, a pattern we also use) public static class FooHttpContext { public static Func<HttpContextWrapper> Current = () => new HttpContextWrapper(HttpContext.Current); public static void Reset() { Current = () => new HttpContextWrapper(HttpContext.Current); } } Nothing particularly fancy. And it works just fine in our controller code. The kicker came when we go to write unit tests. We're using Moq as our mocking framework, but alas var context = new Mock<HttpContextWrapper>() breaks since HttpContextWrapper doesn't have a parameterless ctor. And what does it take as a ctor parameter? A HttpContext object. So I find myself in a catch 22. I'm using the prescribed way to decouple HttpContext--but I can't mock a value in because the original HttpContext object was sealed and therefore difficult to test. I can map HttpContextBase, which both derive from--but that doesn't really get me what I'm after. Am I just missing the point somewhere with regard to HttpContextWrapper? I can find ways to work around the issue, but we are kind of fond of remaining consistent in decoupling using the Function delegate pattern--but it seems like we're not fully grokking intent of the wrapper.

Loading Separate Pages With Animation in JQTouch

I'm trying to convert a database-driven multiple-choice-style study website (written in JSP) into an iPhone app using JQTouch. If I load all of the Q&A's into their own divs in the same file I can easily link and animate between them using links to hashtags, like: a class="button" href="#question22" Unfortunately this isn't practical. The logic of the website as it currently works requires calls to a number of dynamically generated pages; I can't include every question in its own div in the same flat file. How would I go about dynamically (pre)loading the next question (a JSP page like AskQuestion.jsp?questionId=Kzhctand ) then serving that up within the app after the user presses a button? Starting Wicket web application with OSGi HTTP Service

I'm trying to start a Wicket Application using Felix implementation of OSGi HTTP service, for that I just register the service using WicketServlet with applicationClassName parameter: props.put("applicationClassName", MainApplication.class.getName()); service = (HttpService)context.getService(httpReference); service.registerServlet("/", new WicketServlet(), props, null); I have also tried using Felix Whiteboard implementation and registering the web service as a Servlet one: props.put("alias", "/"); props.put("init.applicationClassName", MainApplication.class.getName()); registration = context.registerService(Servlet.class.getName(), new WicketServlet(), props); In both cases it fails when I deploy it using Pax Runner and Felix (mvn package install pax:run -Dframework=felix -Dprofiles=log,config), the exception seems to be related with the ClassLoader: [Jetty HTTP Service] ERROR org.apache.felix.http.whiteboard - Failed to register servlet org.apache.wicket.WicketRuntimeException: Unable to create application of class es.warp.sample.HTTPLocalGUI.MainApplication .... .... at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:252) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:320) at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method) at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java:247) .... .... I have tried to export everything in the bundle and it does the same. The strangest thing is that it works perfectly if I deploy it using Equinox (mvn package install pax:run -Dframework=felix -Dprofiles=log,config). It seems to be a visibilty issue, but I don't know how to fix it, am I doing something wrong? Should I try to extend WicketServlet to take control on the instantiation of the application? Or maybe using an application Factory? Any light is welcomed.

Android 2.2 deprecates restartPackage but adds another headache...

Android 2.2 release notes have just been released. ActivityManager.restartPackage method has been deprecated and the description is: the previous behavior here is no longer available to applications because it allows them to break other applications by removing their alarms, stopping their services, etc. Instead 2.2 has given another tool for pesky "task killer" apps by introducing new ActivityManager.killBackgroundProcesses method. More Info Can someone explain whether ActivityManager.killBackgroundProcesses will kill our scheduled alarms? If so, deprecating ActivityManager.restartPackage was pointless as "task killer" will now abuse ActivityManager.killBackgroundProcesses.

My team and I need to work on a project whose bugs are filed in Bugzilla, using Mylyn. Do you know of any tool or plug-in that provides scrum-inspired burndown charts to Bugzilla or Mylyn? Hopefully, this tool would be free for commercial usage, but we're not closed to commercial tools. Update: 4 hours of research allowed me to find very few free tools. Looks like bugzilla isn't popular in agile teams! And obviously, it's not the best fit.

Is there a 'RadLabel' from Telerik?

I use the "Label" attribute in Telerik quite frequently. I like it because it helps me consistently structure tables. An example: <ul class="box"> <li><telerik:RadTextBox runat="server" Label="Name:" LabelCssClass="label" Enabled="false" Width="100%" /></li> <li><telerik:RadTextBox runat="server" ID="MachineSize" Label="Password:" LabelCssClass="label" Width="100%" /></li> </ul> I've run into a problem. I would like to continue with the above layout/structure, but in some cases I have tables that simply dump output (ie no user input). To be consistent, I need a RadLabel, which takes an input of "Label" and "Text", and then aligns them appropriately in the overall table format. Is there such a thing?

feedparser - various errors

I need feedparser (se http://www.feedparser.org) for a project, and want to keep third party modules in a separate folder. I did this by adding a folder to my python path, and putting relevant modules there, among them feedparser. Determing software estimates and tracking past estimates

I know that this probably has as many answers as users here on SO, but software estimation always seemed like an esoteric science. Software developers don't have a magic book to refer to as exist in many other industries. I've been spending the last couple of days working on putting together some estimates for a bit of work that I am proposing for a freelance project that I am working on and am having trouble getting it down. I'm not experienced with any real software estimation practices and am trying to go from the gut based on my experience but also trying to be a little loose (not too loose though) on the estimates to leave me a bit of room to work. I read this blog entry http://blogs.popart.com/2007/07/what-scotty-from-star-trek-can-teach-us-about-managing-expectations/ that was linked to from SO and would like to start tracking my estimates at work as well even though I'm not really required to create estimates there. What tools or techniques would you recommend? Also, how much padding do you usually add in to a time estimate?

I've been having problems with a MySQL Server installation that got messed up after a power outage. Configuration Intel i5 Mac running OS X 10.6.5 Ruby 1.9.2 installed Rails 3.0.1 installed MySQL Server (finally) installed and running I completely reinstalled MySQL, which deleted the local development/test/production databases. VS2010 Beta 2 > Setup Project > Prerequisites > Missing .NET 3.0

Hello, In Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2, in a Setup project, in Prerequisites, there's no option to include the .NET Framework 3.0 prerequisite. How do I change things so that it is an available option? My goal is to create an .msi installer that is launched by a Setup.exe. The Setup.exe should install .NET 3.0 if it's not there. The application that I'm installing uses .NET 3.0 Note: I've tried clicking the "Check Microsoft Update for more redistributable components", but .NET 3.0 wasn't there. Thanks! Adam

How to require fullscreen mode in a jQTouch application?

I'm using jQTouch to develop a version of a website optimized for safari on the iphone. The jQTouch demo helpfully shows how to show an "install this" message for users not using full screen mode and hide it for those who are. When in fullscreen mode, the body should have the class "fullscreen." So you can hide the "install this" message for people who have already added your app to their home page by adding this css rule to your stylesheet: body.fullscreen #home .info { display: none; } What I'd like to do is require users to use the app in fullscreen mode only. When viewed from the regular browser, they should only see a message asking them to install the app. That message should of course be hidden otherwise. This ought to be really, really easy, so I must just be missing something obvious. I thought one way to do this would be to simply test for the class "fullscreen" on the body: if it's not there, use goTo to get to another div, or hide the other divs, or something like that. Strangely, however, this doesn't work. As a test, I've still got the original "info" message, as in the jQTouch demo, and it doesn't show up when I launch in fullscreen mode. So the body must have the fullscreen class. And yet I can't find any other trace of it: when I put this alert to test things after the document has loaded, I get nothing when launching in fullscreen mode: alert($("body").attr("class")); I also thought I might test for fullscreen mode by checking for the value of the fullScreen boolean. But this doesn't seem to work either. What am I missing? What is the best way to do this?

NHibernate : restore session connection after session lost

I'm using NHibernate with SQL Server 2005 in a WPF client application. If I stop the SQL Server service and then restart it the session doesn't automatically reconnect. Masked Time control in WPF

We are in need of a control in which we can show the elapsed time in "Hour:Min:Sec" format. This control should have a spin control attached with it. Whenever we spin the spin window, it should increment the selected option ( Either hour, or min , or sec). Also the Hour may have values between 0 to 99 , Min many have values between 0 to 59 and Sec may have values between 0 to 59. Is anybody know this type of control in WPF?

Sorting eigenvectors by their eigenvalues (associated sorting)

I have an unsorted vector of eigenvalues and a related matrix of eigenvectors. I'd like to sort the columns of the matrix with respect to the sorted set of eigenvalues. (e.g., if eigenvalue[3] moves to eigenvalue[2], I want column 3 of the eigenvector matrix to move over to column 2.) I know I can sort the eigenvalues in O(N log N) via std::sort. Without rolling my own sorting algorithm, how do I make sure the matrix's columns (the associated eigenvectors) follow along with their eigenvalues as the latter are sorted?

Generated signed X.509 client certificate is invalid (no certificate chain to its CA)

I use Bouncy Castle for generation of X.509 client certificates and sing them using a known CA. First I read the CA certificate from the certificate store, generate the client certificate, sign it using the CA. Validation of the certificate is failed doe to the following issue A certificate chain could not be built to a trusted root authority. As I understand this is due to the certificate not being related to the CA. 403 error after adding javascript to masterpage for sharepoint.

I am attempting to add highslide-with-html.js from http://highslide.com/ to my masterpage. I am receiving a 403 forbidden error when I use the provided masterpage. I have placed it in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1033. Test javascript files such as pirate.js which consists solely of alert("Arr!"); have loaded from the same directory. I have provided the code for the masterpage. Android: ScrollView in flipper

What should I do to distinguish between the flipping gesture and the scrolling? Presently: if I remove the scroll view, I can swipe across if I add the scroll view, I can only scroll. I saw a suggestion that I should override onInterceptTouchEvent(MotionEvent), but I do not know how to do this.
