• Stack data storage order

  When talking about a stack in either computing or "real" life we usually assume a "first on, last off" type of functionality. Because the idea of a stack is based around something in the physical world, does it matter how the data in the stack is stored? I notice in a lot of examples that the storage of the stack data is quite often done using an array and the newest item added to the stack is placed at the bottom of the array. (like adding a new plate to an existing stack of plates except putting it underneath the other plates rather than on top). As a paradigm, does it matter in what order the data is stored within the stack as long as the operation of the stack acts as expected?

  I am trying to deploy a web application built with Dotnetnuke. There is an DNN Control/ASCX having a MultiView and few AjaxToolkit Controls like AutoComplete, ModalPopup. In Views other (plain) ASCXs are included and some of which have UpdatePanel. On the developer machine (WinXp / ASP.NET Web Server) there is no error...but when I try to deploy it on server, I get the above error.

• VS2010 - How to automatically stop compile on first compile error

  {rant}First I'd like to say that this IS NOT A DUPLICATE. I've asked this question previously but it got closed as a duplicate when it isn't. This question is SPECIFIC to VS 2010 and the answers to the so-called duplicate work in VS 2008 but not in VS 2010 (at least not for me or anyone I know). So before you go closing something as a duplicate how about you read the question carefully and try the answer for yourself and see if it actually works. Apologies for the rant but there is no obvious way to contact the SO police that closed the issue or get it reopened. {/rant} At work we have a C# solution with over 80 projects. In VS 2008 we use a macro to stop the compile as soon as a project in the solution fails to build (see this question for several options for VS 2005 & VS 2008: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/134796/how-to-automatically-stop-visual-c-build-at-first-compile-error). Is it possible to do the same in VS 2010? What we have found is that in VS 2010 the macros don't work (at least I couldn't get them to work) as it appears that the environment events don't fire in VS 2010. The default behaviour is to continue as far as possible and display a list of errors in the error window. I'm happy for it to stop either as soon as an error is encountered (file-level) or as soon as a project fails to build (project-level). Answers for VS 2010 only please. If the macros do work then a detailed explanation of how to configure them for VS 2010 would be appreciated. Thanks.

• Making flexible C# code in MVC2 for Stored Procedures

  Thanks to Darin Dimitrov's suggestion I got a big step further in understanding good MVC code, but I'm having some problems making it flexible. I implemented Darin's suggested solution, and it works perfectly for single controllers. However I'm having some trouble implementing it with some flexibility. What I'm looking for is this; To be able to make dynamic column names in json Instead of using "Column1: 'value', ..." and "Column2: 'value', ..." inside the json, I'd like to use for example "id: 'value', ..." and "place: 'value' ..." for one stored procedure, and "animal" and "type" in another (inside the json format). To be able to make dynamic amounts of columns dependent on which stored procedure is called Some stored procedures I'll want to read more than 2 rows from, is there a smart way of accomplishing that? To be able to make numeric (floats and integers) rows from the database be presented inside the json without quotes Like this (name and age); { Column1: "John", Column2: 53 }, I would be very grateful for any feedback and suggestions / code examples I can get here. Even imperfect ones.

  Problem I'm trying to create an asynchronously updating TreeGrid in GXT but encountering issues. The first issue is that I believe the documentation is 'piss poor', at best.. therefore any chance of learning without using 'word of mouth' seems ridiculous. Instead of moaning any further, I shall inform you what I'd LIKE to do and then hopefully you can tell me if what i want is possible. Example knowledge of Football is recommended here I have a few Async services where: getLeagues() getTeams(League) getPlayers(League,Team) getPosition(League,Team,Player) I'd like to have a grid where once it renders, it makes a call to 'getLeagues', where by the server will respond with a bunch of leagues that are currently active on the server... these will be the 'root node' of the TreeGrid. Then, from here you can expand each league to show the teams, right down to the players and then their positions. I'd like to Create a TreeGrid which has a 'listener' on each node, waiting to asynchronously call the server on request and propogate the tree from here, however I'm not sure if this is possible. Can anybody advise? I'm finding all these Models, BaseTreeModels, TreeStores nauseating.

  I have content on subdomain1.mydomain.com which can't reside on mydomain.com/subdomain1. Nevertheless, all my other content resides in folders of the mydomain.com/subdomain* type. For the sake of consistency, I'd like the content actually located at subdomain1.mydomain.com to appear as if it were on mydomain.com/subdomain1 — Is there any way, using .htaccess, that I can achieve this, bearing in mind that: (1) the subdomain itself also has a nested permalink structure, meaning that there are additional folders in the directory structure of the subdomain; (2) I want the browser to display the address as mydomain/subdomain1 after the redirect.

  I am loading an external file 'contact_us.aspx' into a jquery dialog box. the external page contains a form. When the submit button is pressed it closes the dialog box and changes the page to contact_us.aspx. is my code correct or is there a different way of doing this. see my code below, thanks. • Ruby syntax checking in vim

  Hi everyone, I use vim with various plugins for editing ruby code. I have proper syntax highlighting set up but I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get ruby syntax checking, similar to what you might see in an IDE such as visual studio, radrails, etc? Something that would simply turn stuff red or break highlighting when I'm missing an 'end' or have an improperly constructed line of code would be sweet. I googled and came across this plugin, http://github.com/scrooloose/syntastic/tree/master but I was wondering if anyone had any better suggestions.

• Embedded pdf object steals focus and will not let it go

  Hi guys, I was given the task of adding some usability to one of our applications, ie. make sure that every controll has a shortcut key, and that they can be reached by "tabbing" through the page. The gui runs in a IE. control on a winform, and consists of asp.net pages, so basically it is just asp.net always running in internet explorer. My problem is that one of the pages has an embeded pdf in it, like so: <object tabindex="-1" height="273" width="663" visible="false" type="Application/pdf" data="showpdf.ashx#navpanes=0"></object> showpdf.ashx is an httphandler, that streams the pdf contents to the response. It does not handle focus in any way. Now when I run this page, the pdf application steals focus, no matter what I do to set it to another control. And when it takes focus, I cannot take it back with the keyboard. Only a mouseclick on the page will set it to another control. I have tried to set focus in code behind OnPreRender, or in jevescript, but no luck. It seems that the http handler always runs after all the other code, and it sets focus on the pdf object. Any thought would be greatly appreciated.

I try to update one record to relational table, when I reach context.SetLink() I am getting exception("The context is not currently tracking the entity"). I don't know how to solve this problem. • ASP.NET MVC2 Model Validation Fails with Non-US Date Format

  I have a small MVC2 app that displays in two cultures: en-US and es-MX. One portion contains a user input for a date that is pre-populated with the current date in the Model. When using en-US, the date field is displayed as MM/dd/yyyy and can be changed using the same format without causing any validation errors. When using es-MX, the date field is displayed as dd/MM/yyyy, but when the date is edited in this format, the server-side validation fails with the message: The value '17/05/1991' is not valid for The Date. One of the first things that jumps out at me about that message is that it is not localized. Both the message itself (which I do not think I can control) and the Display Name of the field (which I can control and is localized in my code). Should be displaying in a localized format. I have tried stepping through the code to see exactly where the validation is failing, but it seems to be happening inside some of the compiled MVC or DataAnnotations code that I cannot see.   I inherited some Delphi components/code that currently compiles with C++ Builder 2007. I'm simply now trying to compile the components with C++ Builder RAD XE. I don't know Delphi (object pascal).   When running the MVC 2 Areas example that has a Blog Area and Blog Controller the URL looks like this: http://localhost:50526/Blog/Blog/ShowRecent in the format: RootUrl / AreaName / ControllerName / ActionName Having just discovered MVC Areas, it seem like a great way to organise code, ie create an Area for each section, which in my case each section has its own controller. This means that each AreaName = ControllerName. The effect of this is the double AreaName/ControllerName path in the Url eg /Blog/Blog/ above Not having a complete clear understanding of routing, how could I setup routing to not show the AreaName?

  I'm experiencing crashes of an app that uses UIWebView. Usually it's when page is not fully loaded and UIWebView is sent stopLoading selector. Or when UIWebView fully loaded page. I've got EXC_BAD_ACCESS. Only for Cocoa (not cocoa touch) WebView. I suspect that there is something wrong with UIWebView or its delegate. But I can't set breakpoint to watch them. Please advise how I can get more info in this situation.

• Detect browser focus/out-of-focus via Google Chrome Extension

  Is there a way to find out if Google chrome is in focus or out of focus? I'm creating an app which needs to know if the user is currently using the browser or not. By tying the detection through the content script in a Google extension, I've tried using blur and focus but the problem is that clicking on the address bar also fires a blur event. Same goes for detecting mouse movement, where moving the mouse outside of the viewing area will not be detected. I've also tried looking at onFocusChanged but it seems it only detects changes in chromes' windows not apps outside of Chrome. Anyone have other ideas for this? Also, would this be any easier if I created an add-on for firefox instead? Thanks!

  I connect from a OSGi bundle deployed on Apache ServiceMix to a Weblogic Server to call some EJBs. The lookup happens with JNDI. In my unit test everything works fine. But when a deploy the bundle on ServiceMix a CommunicationException exception is raised on JNDI ContextFactory initialisation.   Hello guys, First time Map/Reduce user here, and using MongoDB. I have a lot of page visit data which I'd like to make some sense of by using Map/Reduce. Below is basically what I want to do, but as a total beginner a Map/Reduce, I think this is above my knowledge! Find all visits to current page where external = true within the last 30 days (unix timestamp, I deal with the date ranges in PHP and then the array, not mongo date) Group all visits by referral location For each referral location, calculate how many then went to visit a page which has a certain word in the [tags]. I'm using the normal Mongo PHP extension if that has an impact.

  I have a UIPageViewController with several pages. Each page is the same view controller, but the page number is kept track of and the correct page of a PDF is shown. The problem is that each PDF page needs to be loaded and drawn before the curl effect works (you slide your finger across the screen and nothing happens until loaded). Any ideas on how to speed this up or preload the next page? Thanks for your help.
