  • powweb and cloudflare

    i am using powweb as hosting provider and cloudflare as free cdn. Its been few weeks since my website is down and it says "website down, no cache version available". And to add more to it, I cannot access powweb or any website hosted from powweb from my ISP connection. So i am facing trouble solving my cloudflare issue. I just wanted to know if the problem I am facing is from cloudflare side or powweb side. Some time i can access my website from my end but my friend in another country says its down for days. So is there any suggestion guys?? thank you

  • Why would the IIS UrlRewrite module continue redirecting requests after the rule is removed?

    Our application uses the IIS UrlRewrite module to temporarily redirect requests during upgrades to a maintenance site. We have seen a few instances where even though the redirect rule has been removed, the server continues to redirect all requests according to the removed rule. There does not seem to be any pattern with this, and has only occurred once or twice. We have taken the following steps to try and determine the cause of this behavior. Verified that the original rule was a 307 temporary redirect Requested the application from machines that had never requested it before Used a different browser Added and removed a dummy rule from the IIS management console Checked the http kernel cache using netsh http show cachestate Modified the applicationHost.config file by hand (the rule was not still in the file, we just added a superfluous space) In the past when this has happened, we have been able to restart IIS and it solves the problem but that is not always an option and we really want to figure out what the root cause is. How or why would UrlRewrite be caching the response and not responding to configuration changes?

  • layout analysis of text based pdf without ocr

    Before recognizing a pdf, OCR software do document layout analysis to determine which parts are texts, tables or images, as shown in the picture below. ![papercrop]http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/17/2011/07/papercrop.jpg I want to use some parts of the text while leaving out the others. So having a software marking those zones comes in handy. Papercrop does a decent job, but it has a bug of now showing some of the text in the pdf file. And OCR software can also do layout analysis, marking out "zones" which I can add or delete. But you have to OCR to do that. Since my pdfs are already text based, I don't want to waste so much time OCRing. So my question is, is there any software that automatically mark out those zones and let me manually manipulate them, without having to OCR? Thanks! Waiting for your help.

  • DRS: Unknown JNLP Location

    We are using Deployment Rule Sets to limit access to the older JRE to well-known applications like - but are running into a problem. One business critical applications has the following properties (*s to protect info): title: Enterprise Services Repository location: null jar location: http://app.*.com:52400/rep/repository/*.jar jar version: null isArtifact: true The application downloads a .jnlp file, and uses java web start to execute. Since the location is null, this application cannot be targeted by a location rule. And the certificate hash method only works when the application is cached (being ran more than once). If cache storing is off, which is the case in some situations, how can this application be targeted? Or at least told to run with an older JRE on start? This problem is specifically noted in this bug Thanks!

  • Internal only DNS?

    We are running a research project with hundreds (becoming thousands) of remote hosts. Each host is running OpenVPN so we can find them regardless of what their 'assigned' IP is. We have been using DynDNS to manage this but we're running into some issues with them ( API is weak/nonexistent, size constraints, etc). Im looking into setting up a internal-only domain (EG "our.stuff" so a host would be "site1.our.stuff" or "site3.net4.our.stuff") that I can configure with the info from the OpenVPN server. Since we'd have to point our internal DNS to this machine it would have to be able to route/cache requests for 'external' machines as well. I've been trying to read about 'internal DNS', 'private', 'non-routeable' but I'm not having much success. Summary: need info on internal, caching DNS server. Something with open-source would be ideal. If not, I can script out changes to .conf, etc.

  • Why is a ZFS pool not persisting over server restart?

    I have a ZFS pool with 4 drives. It also has a 3gb ZIL and a 20GB L2ARC that are each partitions on an SDD that doubles as my Linux Mint (ver. 13) boot drive. The pool is mounted to /data. The problem I am running into is that when I restart the server the pool/directory is completely wiped despite having data in it prior. I'm afraid I'm doing something wrong in the setup, which leads me to the following questions: What would cause this? Is there anyway to get the data back? How do I stop it from happening in the future?     Is there any way to create a desired topology of EC2 instances? For example, can I create a 3 node topology of nodes A, B, C where C gets the public IP address and B and A are connected to it. Something like: Internet <-- C <-- B <-- A B and A only get private IP addresses and there is no way for the traffic to reach A before hitting B and C. This means I can install whatever I want to install on C and B to filter, cache etc. I'm going through EC2 documentation but so far I have not seen anything that talks about it. I will really appreciate if anyone knows how to do this on EC2

  • Get HDD (and NOT Volume) Serial Number on Vista Ultimate 64 bit

    Hi all. I was once looking for getting the HDD serial number without using WMI, and I found it. The code I found and posted on StackOverFlow.com works very well on 32 bit Windows, both XP and Vista. The trouble only begins when I try to get the serail number on 64 bit OSs (Vista Ultimate 64, specifically). The code returns String.Empty, or a Space all the time. Anyone got an idea how to fix this?     I have recently distributed my WiFi network with highpseed antennas to my area which covers almost 300-400 peoples. I am not charging them anything but i would like to generate some revenue through Advertisements placed on the websites that they visit. Is it possible to display ads from Google (I know i can do redirect the Advertisements, using some cache server or firewall) . Its just like a free vpn but i would like to have my advertisements above the websites they visit so i can take out the cost for the WiFi that i offer. Any suggestions would be great!

  • Windows 7 Connection Sharing unable to access some sites

    I have a pretty sad networking situation that involves connecting to an open Wireless network and sharing that connection to an Ethernet that is plugged into a Linksys router. This has been done with XP and Windows 7, and it works great with XP. The problem with Windows 7 is that only some DNS will work. I don't know if it's been poisoned on the network above us (which we have no control over), but we've tried clearing the DNS cache as well as moving to using Google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4). Here is a really quick list of sites that won't respond to DNS requests at all via dig, although if I get the IP address I can ping them: facebook.com yuilibrary.com twitter.com A lot of sites do work though. Anyone have an idea? It may be a subnet problem? If anyone wants more info let me know.

  • Redhat with a reverse proxy, a specific configuration

    The setup I am trying to put together consists on a server connected to the internet (a redhat box) and 2 Apache Tomcat boxes not connected to the internet. Let's call the server Server and the two Apache Tomcats, Apache1 and Apache2. So, assuming my external IP is 102.1.1.1, Apache1 is 10.1.1.1 and Apache2 is 10.1.1.2, what I'm trying to configure is a reverse proxy so that if the request goes into http://102.1.1.1/mywebserver1/ it will be directed to Apache1 and if the request goes into http://102.1.1.1/mywebserver2/ it will be forwarded to Apache2. Now, I don't need a cache on the proxy since there is application sitting in those tomcats and each request needs to get a fresh answer. I searched for a while and I tried building this with Squid but i can't get it to work the way I need it. Anyone knows how to do this? What software do I need? How do I configure the reverse proxy?     one client (it's allways the same client) has often problems with mapi sessions killed by the exchange server. The Application Eventlog on the exchange logs eventid 9646 with source MSExchangeIS: Die MAPI-Sitzung '/o=xx/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=xxxx' hat die maximal zulässige Anzahl von 250 Objekten vom Typ 'objtMessage' überschritten. The client has no eventlogs logged about this error. I looked for installed Outlook Add-Ins and found the default add-ins from microsoft, an adobe pdf add-in (which I deactivated because it's not needed) and an "Octopus" plugin from telekom. Octopus is a CTI-application that connects to Outlook. My guess is, that Octopus (or its add-in) causes this error because this client has over 1100 contacts. My question is: how can I find out, which application/add-in causes this problem? Edit: I already looked at eventid.net but nothing helped. Edit2: Exchange-Cache-Mode is not used nor are there any shared folders / mailboxes open.

    Any idea why my Restore command works fine when run in Management Studio 2008 but not when run from the dos prompt? Shown below is the error when running from the dos prompt.     Hi all, I am running an application server and logging all requests for analysis purposes later. One interesting trend I noticed last night was, I had a visitor from Texas on FIOS share identical traffic with bluecoat in California. What would cause the traffic to be identical? For every request the visitor made, bluecoat made one subsequently within milliseconds of his request. If it is caching, why would there be identical requests? Wouldn't it go through the cache / proxy on their end, and I would only see the proxied request? I'm just curious, this is an interesting pattern that shows similarities of a DDoS attack, but with far fewer resources. Is it possible that the visitor had malware on their computer? Any other ideas? Walter

    Can somebody explain briefly the differences between a "WSS Web Application" and a normal "IIS Website"? I have read that a WSS web application is a "special" IIS Website with WSS featured. I also know that the content of a web application is stored in an SQL Server Website(called the content database) whereas an IIS Website stores it on a hard disk on the server. A point-by-point difference would be appreciated.

  • Windows 7 - Non Admin run as Admin for Explorer - still can't see all tmp internet files

    I'm trying to retrieve video files from the IE 8 cache for a user that's not an admin in Win 7. As a non admin user, I run Explorer as admin and still can't see the temp internet files for the non admin user. Only if I login as a user that is admin can I see the files. Is there any way I can see the files w/o having to go through the login process? Essentially, I want the video file from this page and others like it: http://video.yahoo.com/watch/111585/1027823
