  • Java - Count words in two documents

    Good Morning - it is school assignment, I am not asking for any source code (if you can provide any pesudo code it would be awesome). Here is the problem :( I have to create a term frequency table. It is not pure TF, I just need to count the words and write down. I know basic steps to do it 1 - extract all terms (I can do it with file reader) 2 - remove repeating terms (I can do it with TreeMap) The output of 2nd step would be Niga, ponga, dinga, bitlo, etc. 3 - Now I have to see if there is any word in current file from above terms or not, if yes then I will count. Now this is my problem, I stucked on step 3 :( I have some idea how to count words with TreeMap (treemap.containskey etc.) but it would be global count not local count for each file :( Any pseudo code?

    Hi, I have an object model whose structure is Dashboard  List of panels     List of containers       List of widgets If i get whole dashboard, with panels + containers + widgets, from Database then multiple I/O requires I want to get it in one I/O .For this i prepared a query which gives me this resultset. DASHBOARDID   PANELID  CONTAINERID  WIDGETID 13                          11                    5              2 13                          11                    5              3 13                          11                    6              4 13                          11                    6              5 13                          12                    7              6 13                          12                    7              7 13                          12                    8              8 13                          12                    8              9 Using list datastructure this model is able to be filled but it takes time i want to efficiently fill this resultset in above object model. is there nay way ?

  • AS3/AIR: Managing Run-Time Image Data

    I'm developing a game with AS3 and AIR. I will have a large-ish quantity of images that I need to load for display elements. It would be nice not to embed all of the images that the game needs, thereby avoiding having them all in memory at once. That's okay in smaller projects, but doesn't make sense here. I'm curious about strategies for loading images during run time. Since all of the files are quite small and local ( in my current project ) loading them on request might be the best solution, but I'd like to hear what ideas people have for managing this. For bonus points, I'm also curious about solutions for loading images on-demand server-side as well.

    Hi folks, I have a nested map: Map<Integer, Map<Integer, Double>> areaPrices = new HashMap<Integer, Map<Integer, Double>>(); and this map is populated using the code: while(oResult.next()) { Integer areaCode = new Integer(oResult.getString("AREA_CODE")); Map<Integer, Double> zonePrices = areaPrices.get(areaCode); if(zonePrices==null) { zonePrices = new HashMap<Integer, Double>(); areaPrices.put(areaCode, zonePrices); } Integer zoneCode = new Integer(oResult.getString("ZONE_CODE")); Double value = new Double(oResult.getString("ZONE_VALUE")); zonePrices.put(zoneCode, value); myBean.setZoneValues(areaPrices); } I want to use the value of this Map in another method of the same class. For that I have a bean. How do I populate it on the bean, so that I can get the ZONE_VALUE in this other method In my bean I added one new field as: private Map<Integer, Map<Integer, Double>> zoneValues; with getter and setter as: public Map<Integer, Map<Integer, Double>> getZoneValues() { return zoneValues; } public void setZoneValues(Map<Integer, Map<Integer, Double>> areaPrices) { this.zoneValues = areaPrices; } What I am looking for to do in the other method is something like this: Double value = myBean.get(areaCode).get(zoneCode); How do I make it happen :(

  • Strange code behaviour?

    Hi, I have a C code in which i have a structure declaration which has an array of int[576] declared in it. For some reason, i had to remove this array from the structure, So i replaced this array with a pointer as int *ptr; declared some global array of same type, somewhere else in the code, and initialized this pointer by assigning the global array to this pointer. So i did not have to change the way i was accessing this array, from other parts of my code. But it works fine/gives desired output when i have the array declared in the structure, but it gives junk output when i declare it as a pointer in the structure and assign a global array to this pointer, as a part of the pointer initialization. All this code is being run on MS-VC 6.0/Windows setup/Intel-x86. I tried below things: 1)Suspected structure padding/alignment but could not get any leads? If at all structure alignment could be a culprit how can i proceed to narrow it down and confirm it? 2) I have made sure that in both cases the array is initialized to some default values, say 0 before its first use, and its not being used before initialization. 3)I tried using global array as well as malloc based memory for this newly declared array. Same result, junk output. Am i missing something? How can i zero down the problem. Any pointers would be helpful. Thanks, -AD.

    Hey there, I am trying to write a simple function to clean a filename string and update the object. When I save a test string it works, but when I try to save the string variable I've created, nothing happens. But when I return the string, the output seems to be correct! What am I missing? def clean_filename clean_name = filename clean_name.gsub! /^.*(\\|\/)/, '' clean_name.gsub! /[^A-Za-z0-9\.\-]/, '_' clean_name.gsub!(/\_+/, ' ') #update_attribute(:filename, "test") #<-- correctly sets filename to test #update_attribute(:filename, clean_name) #<-- no effect?????     I have a problem to ask you. I have a table in Ms.Access that contain: (FoodID, FoodName, Price) and in C# I have three text boxes (txtId, txtName, txtPrice) and a button (btnSearch). My question is that, In C# I just type FoodID in (txtId) and then click on button Search It'll display FoodName and Price ( from table access) in txtName and txtPrice by itself.     I'm creating a database access layer in native C++, and I'm looking at ways to support NULL values. Here is what I have so far: class CNullValue { public: static CNullValue Null() { static CNullValue nv; return nv; } }; template<class T> class CNullableT { public: CNullableT(CNullValue &v) : m_Value(T()), m_IsNull(true) { } CNullableT(T value) : m_Value(value), m_IsNull(false) { } bool IsNull() { return m_IsNull; } T GetValue() { return m_Value; } private: T m_Value; bool m_IsNull; }; This is how I'll have to define functions: void StoredProc(int i, CNullableT<int> j) { ...connect to database ...if j.IsNull pass null to database etc } And I call it like this: sp.StoredProc(1, 2); or sp.StoredProc(3, CNullValue::Null()); I was just wondering if there was a better way than this. In particular I don't like the singleton-like object of CNullValue with the statics. I'd prefer to just do sp.StoredProc(3, CNullValue); or something similar. How do others solve this problem?

  • Export SQL Binary/BLOB Data?

    Recently a software application we utilize upgraded from ASP to ASP.NET. In the process they abandoned the old web-based product and rewrote the entire UI, using new DB tables. The old DB tables still exist in the database and contain legacy files in binary or blob formats. I'm wondering if there is an easy way to export all these legacy files from the database to the filesystem (NTFS)? Then we could delete these old unused tables and save a few GB of space in the DB backups, etc.
