  • Chrome SSL Security Issue under Windows systems?

    The Fortify.net website allows you to check what SSL Encryption key is used by your browser. I gave it a try with the browsers I've on my machine and these are the results Fedora 9 Firefox 3.0.8 = AES cipher, 256-bit key Chrome 4.0.249.30 = AES cipher, 256-bit key Windows XP SP3 IE 6.0.2x = RC4 cipher, 128-bit key Firefox = AES cipher, 256-bit key Chrome 4.1.249.1042 (42199) = RC4 cipher, 128-bit key .... WHAT!!?!! Chrome is using RC4 128-bit (as IE6 does) that is well known as been very weak! Chrome under Unix works fine... I'm wondering how is this possible? Do you have this issue or is there a way to change the default key to be AES 256bit? I'm using Chrome as the main browser under Windows and I'm really considering to switch back to Firefox

  • Delete an entity by key without fetching it first in app engine (using JDO)

    Is there a way to delete an entity without having to fetch it from the datastore first? I am assuming I already have the key or id for the entity. I'm thinking of something like deleteObjectById that would be an analogue to getObjectById on PersistenceManager. The closest I can think of is using Query.deletePersistentAll() (as seen here) and specifying a query that only relies on the key, but I can't tell if that is going to fetch the entity before deleting it. thanks EDIT: I know how to do this using the low level API, as well as in the python API. I was wondering if there was a way to do it within the JDO layer.

  • Can I show a single country (masked out) in GoogleMaps?

    Hello! Is it possible to mask away neighbor countries in GoogleMap? In my case I just want to show Sweden on one view. On a second view just Norway, Denmark etc etc... I know it is possible to draw polygon lines and fill them accordingly on to Maps API. Problem is that or the result sets get huge or the lines get very rough etc... Would be nice if GoogleMaps could deliver a country at the time without neighbors. Does anyone know about a good coordinate database with country borders? Best best regards, Niclas

    I want to use image in a group definded in defs tag. But on Chrome nothing works. In Firefox only the .png file is displayd. Only Rectangle apears but with strange bug in Chrome.     Hi I am writing a GWT app running on App Engine, which needs to modify a XML File serverside. As far as I know there is no way to modify a XML file in the WAR directory or any subdirectories. What other possibilities do I have to store that data? Can I use the Data Store somehow or should I look for storage space somewhere else and access it there (if so any recommendations?)? Any help is appreciated!

  • What's the next steps for moving from appengine to full django?

    Hey guys, I'm super new to programming and I've been using appengine to help me learn python and general coding. I'm getting better quickly and I'm loving it all the way :) Appengine was awesome for allowing me to just dive into writing my app and getting something live that works (see http://www.7bks.com/). But I'm realising that the longer I continue to learn on appengine the more I'm constraining myself and locking myself into a single system. I'd like to move to developing on full django (since django looks super cool!). What are my next steps? To give you a feel for my level of knowledge: I'm not a unix user I'm not familiar with command line controls (I still use appengine/python completely via the appengine SDK) I've never programmed in anything other than python, anywhere other than appengine I know the word SQL, but don't know what MySQL is really or how to use it. So, specifically: What are the skills I need to learn to get up and running with full django/python? If I'm going to host somewhere else I suppose I'll need to learn some sysadmin type skills (maybe even unix?). Is there anywhere that offers easy hosting (like appengine) but that supports django? I hear such great things about heroku I'm considering switching to RoR and going there I appreciate that I'm likely not quite ready to move away from appengine just yet but I'm a fiercely passionate learner (http://www.7bks.com/blog/179001) and would love it if I knew all the steps I needed to learn so I could set about learning them. At the moment, I don't even know what the steps are I need to learn! Thank you very much. Sorry this isn't a specific programming question but I've looked around and haven't found a good how-to for someone of my level of experience and I think others would appreciate a good roadmap for the things we need to learn to get up and running.     Does anyone have tried to implement an app in GAE having both java and python? I have an existing app and my front end is in java. Now I want to use the existing datastore to be interfaced by python. My problem is i don't know how to define the relationships and model that would be equivalent to the one in java. I have tried the one-to-many relationship in python but when stored in the datastore, the fields are different than the one-to-many of java.     I'm writing a Chrome extension that uses a content script to modify certain parts of a website. The content script worked fine until I tried to add an options page to my extension.     in the cpanel that i'm developing thre is a department for articles in arabic and english so i used two tinymce editors one for arabic and the other is for english it works as expected, but the problem is that when i'm using chrome browser the page suddenly become not responding and never come back and i need to restart it but in IE8 no problem at all. i've found in chrome task manager that the memory usage of the page is over 22 kilobyte. i'm also using jquery ui. i've tried the following 1- using jquery plugin the compressor tiny_mce_gzip.php 2- decreasing the plugins of tinymce [ispell,layers,..] what is the solution or what is the cause

    Some pages on my website appear differently depending on where the user has been, using php sessions. for example with breadcrumbs: standard crumb setup: All Books - fiction - Lord Of the Flies if the visitor has just been on the 'William Golding Page', a session will have been created to say, this visitor is broswing by author, so i would check if( $_SESSION['browsing by] == 'author' ): and the breadcrumbs (for the exact same page as before) would now be: Authors - William Golding - Lord Of the Flies to summarise: So 1 page exists for each book, but depending where the user has come from, the page will show different breadcrumbs. the questions: Can search engines create my 'browsing by' SESSION? Would they index the same page multiple times (for each variation)?

  • Is there a Chrome extension to add mailto links to email addresses?

    Wait, wait, this is a programming question! I want to build an extension if none exists. Imagine this: you come across a webpage that says "Just send a message to [email protected]" but to actually send the email, you need to highlight the address and then cut and paste it into the recipient field of a new compose window of your email client of choice. Obviously life would be easier if it were simply a mailto: link, so you could click on it and have a new message created automatically. (Or if the page designer had used a form, perhaps ...) I was originally going to ask if there was an extension to enable similar functionality for unlinked twitter @username mentions but I thought this email address problem would be a simpler situation. If you think it would be useless, perhaps I should look at the twitter username problem instead. Thanks for your feedback.

    I am trying to use Chrome Dev for debugging the following Angular post request : $http.post("http://picjboss.puma.lan:8880/fluxpousse/api/flow/createOrUpdateHeader", flowHeader) After running the statement with right-click / evaluate, I can see the post in the network panel with a pending state. How can I get the result or "commit" the request and leave easily this "pending" state from the dev console ? I am not yet very familiar with JS callbacks, some code is expected. Thanks.   • Showing same dfp ads in a single page web application

    I have a single page web application which contains dfp ads. I have two dfp adunits that Iam firing and they are placed in between the content which is a list of articles for a particular category. When I click on another category,it just loads articles for different category(doesnt change the url in address bar) and triggers the same ads. So this is like triggering the ads on the same page. The ads dont show up the second time and this is because you cant use the same adunits on the same page. Since I cannot use the refresh function provided by dfp since my DOM is reconstructed everytime, is there any way I can do this?.

  • App-Engine Parse a UrlFetch UTF-8 encoded stream

    I am trying to parse an XML from a URL using the xml.sax parser. I know there are other libraries to use but coming from Java this is the one I am most familiar with and seems the least complicated to me. The code I'm using to parse is as follows: parser = xml.sax.make_parser() handler = MangaHandler() parser.setContentHandler(handler) url = urlfetch.Fetch('http://www.mangapanda.com/alphabetical', allow_truncated = False, follow_redirects = False, deadline = False) xml.sax.parseString(url.content, handler) This returns a SaxException (invalid token) once the parser reaches the first & sign: SAXParseException: <unknown>:582:34: not well-formed (invalid token) Because urlfetch returns a string and not a stream I cannot use the parse() (which only works with streams) and am left to use parseString() instead. To see if parsing as a stream would fix this I tried: parser.parse(io.StringIO(url.content).encode('utf-8')) but this returns: TypeError: initial_value must be unicode or None, not str I have also tried to use the urllib2 libraries which do return a stream instead of urlfetch but the file is too large and is automatically truncated, leaving me with missing data. Any Sort of work-around for this would be greatly appreciated as I've spent days getting around one obstacle just to be stopped by another.

    Hi all. I'm working with App Engine and I'm thinking about using the LESS CSS extension in my next project. There's no good LESS CSS library written in Python so I went on with the original Ruby one which works great and out of the box. I'd like App Engine to execute lessc ./templates/css/style.less before running the development server and before uploading the files to the cloud. What is the best way to automate this? I'm thinking: #run.sh: lessc ./templates/css/style.less .gae/dev_appserver.py --use_sqlite . And #deploy.sh lessc ./templates/css/style.less .gae/appcfg.py update . Am I on the correct path or is there a more elegant way of doing things, perhaps at the appcfg.py level? Thanks.
