  • ASP.Net JSON Web Service Post Form Data

    - by Will D
    I have a ASP.NET web service decorated with System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptService() so it can return json formatted data. This much is working for me, but ASP.Net has a requirement that parameters to the web service must be in json in order to get json out. I'm using jquery to run my ajax calls and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to create a nice javascript object from the form elements. I have looked at serialiseArray in the json2 library but it doesn't encode the field names as property name in the object. If you have 2 form elements like this <input type="text" name="namefirst" id="namefirst" value="John"/> <input type="text" name="namelast" id="namelast" value="Doe"/> calling $("form").serialize() will get you the standard query string namefirst=John&namelast=Doe calling JSON.stringify($("form").serializeArray()) will get you the (bulky) json representation [{"name":"namefirst","value":"John"},{"name":"namelast","value":"Doe"}] This will work when passing to the web service but its ugly as you have to have code like this to read it in: Public Class NameValuePair Public name As String Public value As String End Class <WebMethod()> _ Public Function GetQuote(ByVal nvp As NameValuePair()) As String End Function You would also have to wrap that json text inside another object nameed nvp to make the web service happy. Then its more work as all you have is an array of NameValuePair when you want an associative array. I might be kidding myself but i imagined something more elegant when i started this project - more like this Public Class Person Public namefirst As String Public namelast As String End Class which would require the json to look something like this: {"namefirst":"John","namelast":"Doe"} Is there an easy way to do this? Obviously it is simple for a form with two parameters but when you have a very large form concatenating strings gets ugly. Having nested objects would also complicate things The cludge I have settled on for the moment is to use the standard name value pair format stuffed inside a json object. This is compact and fast {"q":"namefirst=John&namelast=Doe"} then have a web method like this on the server that parses the query string into an associate array. <WebMethod()> _ Public Function AjaxForm(ByVal q As String) as string Dim params As NameValueCollection = HttpUtility.ParseQueryString(q) 'do stuff return "Hello" End Sub As far a cludges go this one seems reasonably elegant in terms of amount of code, but my question is: is there a better way? Is there a generally accepted way of passing form data to asp.net web/script services?

    When I am Calling AppendChild, I get this error: The node to be inserted is from a different document context." static public XmlNode XMLNewChildNode(XmlNode oParent, string sName, string sNamespaceURI, string sNodeType) { XmlNode oNode = moDoc.CreateNode(sNodeType, sName, sNamespaceURI); oParent.AppendChild(oNode); return oNode; } this is a code that is converted from its VB 6.0 version which was this: please ignore the optional parametes, I have overloads for them in C# version: Public Function XMLNewChildNode(ByVal oParent As IXMLDOMNode, ByVal sName As String, Optional ByVal sNamespaceURI As String = "", Optional ByVal sNodeType As String = "element") As IXMLDOMNode '**************** DESCRIPTION ******************* 'Create a new Child Node for passed Parent. • Iterate through a DataTable to find elements in a List object?

    - by Darth Continent
    As I iterate through a DataTable object, I need to check each of its DataRow objects against the items in a generic string List. I found a blog post using the List's Find method along with a delegate, but whereas that example has a separate class (Person), I'm attempting something like the following using an instance of the string object: // My definition of the List object. List<string> lstAccountNumbers = new List<string>(); ... // I populate the List via its Add method. ... foreach (DataRow drCurrentRow in dtMyDataTable.Rows) { if (lstAccounts.Find(delegate(string sAccountNumber) { return sAccountNumber == drCurrentRow["AccountNumber"]; }) { Found_DoSomething(); } else { NotFound_DoSomethingElse(); } } However, with this syntax I'm receiving "Cannot implicitly convert type 'string' to 'bool'" for the if block. Could someone please clarify what I'm doing wrong and how best to accomplish what I'm trying to do?

  • fill gridview cell-by-cell

    - by raging_boner
    I want to populate GridView below with images: <asp:GridView ID="GrdDynamic" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False"> <Columns> </Columns> </asp:GridView> The code below iterates through directory, then I collect image titles and want them to be populated in gridview. code in bold is not working well, gridview is only filled with the last image in list. List<string> imagelist = new List<string>(); protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { foreach (String image in Directory.GetFiles(Server.MapPath("example/"))) { imagelist.Add("~/example/" + Path.GetFileName(image)); } loadDynamicGrid(imagelist); } private void loadDynamicGrid(List<string> list) { DataTable dt = new DataTable(); DataColumn dcol = new DataColumn(NAME, typeof(System.String)); dt.Columns.Add(dcol); dcol = new DataColumn("NAME1", typeof(System.String)); dt.Columns.Add(dcol); dcol = new DataColumn("NAME2", typeof(System.String)); dt.Columns.Add(dcol); dcol = new DataColumn("NAME3", typeof(System.String)); dt.Columns.Add(dcol); DataRow drow = dt.NewRow(); dt.Rows.Add(); dt.Rows.Add(); **for (int i = 0; i < dt.Rows.Count; i++) { for (int j = 0; j < dt.Columns.Count; j++) { foreach (string value in list) { dt.Rows[i][j] = value; } } }** foreach (DataColumn col in dt.Columns) { ImageField bfield = new ImageField(); bfield.DataImageUrlField = NAME; bfield.HeaderText = col.ColumnName; GrdDynamic.Columns.Add(bfield); } GrdDynamic.DataSource = dt; GrdDynamic.DataBind(); } how to fill gridview cell-by-cell only with available amount of images? i know it is easy, i tried various methods like: dt.Rows.Add(list); and some other attempts, but they didn't work. i'm very stupid. i'd be glad for any help.

  • T-SQL query to check number of existences

    - by abatishchev
    I have next approximate tables structure: accounts: ID INT, owner_id INT, currency_id TINYINT related to clients: ID INT and currency_types: ID TINYINT, name NVARCHAR(25) I need to write a stored procedure to check existence of accounts with specific currency and all others, i.e. client can have accounts in specific currency, some other currencies and both. I have already written this query: SELECT ISNULL(( SELECT 1 WHERE EXISTS ( SELECT 1 FROM [accounts] AS A, [currency_types] AS CT WHERE A.[owner_id] = @client -- sp param AND A.[currency_id] = CT.[ID] AND CT.[name] = N'Ruble' )), 0) AS [ruble], ISNULL(( SELECT 1 WHERE EXISTS ( SELECT A.[ID] FROM [accounts] AS A, [currency_types] AS CT WHERE A.[owner_id] = @client AND A.[currency_id] = CT.[ID] AND CT.[name] != N'Ruble' )), 0) AS [foreign] Is it possible to optimize it? I'm new to (T)SQL, so thanks in advance!

  • Computation on db data then list them using either SimpleCursorAdapter or ArrayAdapter

    - by kc2uno
    Hi all, I juststarted programming in android a few weeks ago, so I am not entirely sure how to deal with listing values. Please help me out! I have some questions regarding displaying data sets from db in a list. Currently I have a cursor returned by my db points to a list of rows and I want display 2 columns values in a single row of the list. The row xml looks like this: <TextView android:id="@+id/text1" android:textSize="16sp" android:textStyle="bold" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"/> <TextView android:id="@+id/text2" android:textSize="14sp" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"/> so I was thinking using simplecursoradapter which supposedly makes my life easier by displaying the data in a list. However that is only true if I want to display the raw data. For the purpose of my program I need to do some computations on the raw data sets, then display them. I am not sure how to do that using SimpleCursorAdapter. Here's how I display the raw data: String[] from = new String[]{BtDbAdapter.KEY_EX_TYPE,BtDbAdapter.KEY_EX_TIMESTAMP}; int[] to = new int[]{R.id.text1, R.id.text2}; // Now create a simple cursor adapter and set it to display SimpleCursorAdapter records = new SimpleCursorAdapter(this, R.layout.exset_row, mExsetCursor, from, to); setListAdapter(records); Is there a way to do computation on the data in those rows before I bind it with the SimpleCursorAdapter? I was trying to use an alternative way of doing this by using arraylist and arrayadapter, but that way I dont know to how achieve displaying 2 items in a single row. This is my code for using arrayadapter which only display 1 text in a row instead of 2 textviews in a row: //fill in the array timestamp_arr = new ArrayList<String>(); type_arr = new ArrayList<String>(); fillRecord(); Log.d(TAG,"setting now in recordlist"); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.list_item,timestamp_arr)); setListAdapter(new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.list_item2,type_arr)); It's very obvious that it only displays one textview in a row because I set the second arrayadapter overwrites the first one! I was trying to use R.id.text1 and R.id.text2 for them, but it gave me some errors saying 04-23 01:40:58.658: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(3309): android.content.res.Resources$NotFoundException: Resource ID #0x7f070008 type #0x12 is not valid I believe the second method can achieve this, but I'm not sure how do deal with the layout problems, so if you any suggestions, please post them out. Thank you!!

  • .NET C# Filestream writing to file and reading the bfile

    - by pythonrg7
    I have a web service that checks a dictionary to see if a file exists and then if it does exist it reads the file, otherwise it saves to the file. This is from a web app. I wonder what is the best way to do this because I occasionally get a FileNotFoundException exception if the same file is accessed at the same time. Here's the relevant parts of the code: String signature; signature = "FILE," + value1 + "," + value2 + "," + value3 + "," + value4; // this is going to be the filename string result; MultipleRecordset mrSummary = new MultipleRecordset(); // MultipleRecordset is an object that retrieves data from a sql server database if (mrSummary.existsFile(signature)) { result = mrSummary.retrieveFile(signature); } else { result = mrSummary.getMultipleRecordsets(System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["MyConnectionString"].ConnectionString.ToString(), value1, value2, value3, value4); mrSummary.saveFile(signature, result); } Here's the code to see if the file already exists: private static Dictionary dict = new Dictionary(); public bool existsFile(string signature) { if (dict.ContainsKey(signature)) { return true; } else { return false; } } Here's what I use to retrieve if it already exists: try { byte[] buffer; FileStream fileStream = new FileStream(@System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["CACHEPATH"] + filename, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read, FileShare.Read); try { int length = 0x8000; // get file length buffer = new byte[length]; // create buffer int count; // actual number of bytes read JSONstring = ""; while ((count = fileStream.Read(buffer, 0, length)) > 0) { JSONstring += System.Text.ASCIIEncoding.ASCII.GetString(buffer, 0, count); } } finally { fileStream.Close(); } } catch (Exception e) { JSONstring = "{\"error\":\"" + e.ToString() + "\"}"; } If the file doesn't previously exist it saves the JSON to the file: try { if (dict.ContainsKey(filename) == false) { dict.Add(filename, true); } else { this.retrieveFile(filename, ipaddress); } } catch { } try { TextWriter tw = new StreamWriter(@System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["CACHEPATH"] + filename); tw.WriteLine(JSONstring); tw.Close(); } catch { } Here are the details to the exception I sometimes get from running the above code: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'E:\inetpub\wwwroot\cache\FILE,36,36.25,14.5,14.75'. File name: 'E:\inetpub\wwwroot\cache\FILE,36,36.25,14.5,14.75' at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share) at com.myname.business.MultipleRecordset.retrieveFile(String filename, String ipaddress)

  • jquery performing calculation on dynamically generated elements

    - by user306472
    I have a table made up of a row of 3 input elements: Price, Quanity, and Total. Under that, I have two links I can click to dynamically generate another row in the table. All that is working well, but actually calculating a value for the total element is giving me trouble. I know how to calculate the value of the first total element but I'm having trouble extending this functionality when I add a new row to the table. Here's the html: <table id="table" border="0"> <thead> <th>Price</th><th>Quantity</th><th>Total</th> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td><input id ="price" type = "text"></input></td> <td><input id ="quantity" type = "text"></input></td> <td><input id ="total" type = "text"></input></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <a href="#" id="add">Add New</a> <a href="#" id="remove">Remove</a> Here's the jquery I'm using: $(function(){ $('a#add').click(function(){ $('#table > tbody').append('<tr><td><input id ="price" type = "text"></input></td><td><input id ="quantity" type = "text"></input></td><td><input id ="total" type = "text"></input></td></tr>'); }); $('a#remove').click(function(){ $('#table > tbody > tr:last').remove(); }); }); $(function(){ $('a#calc').click(function(){ var q = $('input#quantity').val(); var p = $('input#price').val(); var tot = (q*p); $('input#total').val(tot); }); }); I'm new to jquery so there's probably a simple method I don't know about that selects the relevant fields I want to calculate. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

And the following is some core codes: package net; import java.io.IOException; import java.util.HashMap; import java.util.Map; import java.util.Properties; public class Test { public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException, InstantiationException, IllegalAccessException, ClassNotFoundException { DaoRepository dr=new DaoRepository(); AbstractDao dao=dr.findDao("sql"); dao.insert(); } } class DaoRepository { Map<String, AbstractDao> daoMap=new HashMap<String, AbstractDao>(); public DaoRepository () throws IOException, InstantiationException, IllegalAccessException, ClassNotFoundException { Properties p=new Properties(); p.load(DaoRepository.class.getResourceAsStream("Test.properties")); initDaos(p); } public void initDaos(Properties p) throws InstantiationException, IllegalAccessException, ClassNotFoundException { String[] daoarray=p.getProperty("dao").split(","); for(String dao:daoarray) { AbstractDao ad=(AbstractDao)Class.forName(dao).newInstance(); daoMap.put(ad.getID(),ad); } } public AbstractDao findDao(String id) {return daoMap.get(id);} } abstract class AbstractDao { public abstract String getID(); public abstract void insert(); public abstract void update(); } class SqlDao extends AbstractDao { public SqlDao() {} public String getID() {return "sql";} public void insert() {System.out.println("sql insert");} public void update() {System.out.println("sql update");} } class AccessDao extends AbstractDao { public AccessDao() {} public String getID() {return "access";} public void insert() {System.out.println("access insert");} public void update() {System.out.println("access update");} } And the content of the Test.properties is just one line: dao=net.SqlDao,net.SqlDao So any ont can tell me if this suitation is necessary?

  • MySQL Need help constructing query: join multiple tables into single row

    - by Jed Daniels
    Hello stackoverflowers, Forgive me if this question has been asked and answered, I've searched and found a few that look similar but I'm too much of a novice with SQL to adapt them to my needs. Also forgive me if I don't use the correct terminology, I know it can be annoying when someone asks a question and they don't even know enough to be able to ask for what they need. I'm helping a friend gather some data, and need to perform a query that results in a single row per record, but instead I get multiple rows. Here is an example of what I'm querying right now (simplified, hopefully not too much): SELECT * FROM `table_one` AS t1 INNER JOIN `table_two` AS t2 ON t1.id = t2.id INNER JOIN `table_three` AS t3 ON t1.id = t3.id WHERE 1 The result is: id text number 5 Subtotal 17 5 Tax 3 5 Total 20 What I need is to create a query that results in something more like this: id text number text number text number 5 subtotal 17 Tax 3 Total 20 Any assistance/guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks! --jed

  • Caching view-port based Geo-queries

    - by friism
    I have a web app with a giant Google Map in it. As users pan and zoom around on the map, points are dynamically loaded through AJAX call which include the viewport bounds (NE and SW corner coordinates) and some other assorted parameters. How do I cache these request for points? The problem is that the parameters are highly variable and (worst) not discrete i.e. floats with a lots of decimal places. I'm using ASP.NET-MVC/C#/LINQ2SQL/SQL-Server but the problem is not tied to that platform. This is the signature of the the relevant method: [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public JsonResult Data(string date, string categories, string ne_lat, string ne_lng, string sw_lat, string sw_lng)

  • Ugly thing and advantage of anonymos method -C#

    - by nettguy
    I was asked to explain the ugly thing and advantages of anonymous method. I explained possibly Ugly thing anonymous methods turning quickly into spaghetti code. Advantages We can produce thread safe code using anonymous method :Example static List<string> Names = new List<string>( new string[] { "Jon Skeet", "Marc Gravell", "David", "Bill Gates" }); static List<string> FindNamesStartingWith(string startingText) { return Names.FindAll( delegate(string name) { return name.StartsWith(startingText); }); } But really i did not know whether it is thread safe or not.I was asked to justify it. Can any one help me to understand (1) advantages of anonymous methods (2) Is the above code thread safe or not?

  • Does Parallel.ForEach require AsParallel()

    - by dkackman
    ParallelEnumerable has a static member AsParallel. If I have an IEnumerable<T> and want to use Parallel.ForEach does that imply that I should always be using AsParallel? e.g. Are both of these correct (everything else being equal)? without AsParallel: List<string> list = new List<string>(); Parallel.ForEach<string>(GetFileList().Where(file => reader.Match(file)), f => list.Add(f)); or with AsParallel? List<string> list = new List<string>(); Parallel.ForEach<string>(GetFileList().Where(file => reader.Match(file)).AsParallel(), f => list.Add(f));

  • Encode JSON data into another JSON object

    - by jburns20
    I have a JSON string that I would like to include as a value in a larger JSON object that I am creating from an array. How can I create the larger JSON object without php escaping the string, and without having to decode the previously encoded string? For example, if my JSON string is: $encoded_already = '{"encoded_key": "encoded_value"}'; And I would like to include it in my array and json_encode() it: $new_array = array( "some_other_key" => $some_value, "premade_data" => $encoded_already ); $output = json_encode($new_array); but I want to have the $encoded_already string be included as actual JSON, not just an escaped string.

  • How to make a loop over all keys of a HashMap?

    - by Roman
    I try to do it in the following way: public String getValue(String service, String parameter) { String inputKey = service + ":" + parameter; Set keys = name2value.keySet(); Iterator itr = keys.iterator(); while (itr.hasNext()) { if (inputKey.equal(itr.next())) { return name2value.get(inputKey); } return ""; } } And I get an error message: cannot find symbol method.equal(java.lang.Object). I think it is because itr.next() is not considered as a string. How can I solve this problem? I tried to replace Set keys by Set<String> keys. It did not help.
