  • .NET: How to place my window near the notification area (systray)?

    I'd like to display a little popup window next to the notification area. It's similar to what Outlook/Skype/Live! Messenger/etc does when it displays the notification about a new message. In my case it will have some input controls (textbox, datetimepicker, buttons...) so a simple bubble won't do. The trick is doing this correctly when the user has multiple monitors and/or the taskbar is not located at the bottom of the screen.

My wondering is a Programming/Business question, so here what I am thinking about, One of my big goals is to design a Computer Operating System, however if it will be just for fun, knowledge or even to be the next Windows or Linux, so if I had Programmed one, with GUI (windows,lists,buttons,etc..) and for example I will make it for Commercial use, Will Microsoft or Apple comes and drop me in legal problems just like what happened in GUI war between the two of them(Apple and Microsoft)?     I have some tabs which have been created using Javascript and Mootools, my client wants the 'next button' at the bottom of the page to be disabled, until the tabs have been read(clicked). The page is dynamic (created with PHP and MySQL) and there could be two tabs or three, depending on the set-up. I am struggling today to think of the best solution. Any help more than welcome...

    Lets us consider this snippet: int s; scanf("%c",&s); Here I have used int, and not char, for variable s, now for using s for character conversion safely I have to make it char again because when scanf reads a character it only overwrites one byte of the variable it is assigning it to, and not all four that int has. For conversion I could use s = (char)s; as the next line, but is it possible to implement the same by subtracting something from s ?

    I have a large data file that is creatd from a shell script. Next script processes it by sorting and reading several times, that takes more than 14 hours, it is not viable. I want to replace this long running script with a program, probably in JAVA, C, or COBOl, that can run on windows or on sun solaris. I have to read a group of records everytime, sort and process and write to the output sort file and at the same time insert into db2/sql tables.

    Hi, I have an SQL query that returns an amount of tuples (about 50). Now I need to display the results, 15 tuples at a time, then I will have a "view more" button to view the next 15 results. Can you please help me how I can make this? The issue is that I cannot use the 'limits' because each time I run the query the results will be different, hence when pressing view more, I may get the same results of the same page. thanks

    I am hoping to create 3 (non-negative) quasi-random numbers that sum to one, and repeat over and over. Basically I am trying to partition something into three random parts over many trials. While I am aware of a= runif(3,0,1) I was thinking that I could use 1-a as the max in the next run if, but it seems messy. But these of course don't sum to one.     Reading the syntax from autohotkey, I am trying to achieve this. But the first step of selecting the entire line is not working:- F5:: send {Shift Home} return I have tried few others too, but its not working. This is not sending Shift+Home combination on pressing F5 key. Please tell me what's wrong with this? Also if possible, what to do next?, as if I will write send {F5} I believe, it will recursively fire this script again and again..
