  • Error Creating View From Importing MysqlDump

    - by Joshua
I don't speak SQL... Please, anybody help me. What does this mean?: Error SQL query: /*!50001 CREATE ALGORITHM=UNDEFINED *//*!50001 VIEW `v_sr_videntity` AS select `t`.`c_id` AS `ID`,`User`.`c_id` AS `UserID`,`videntityfingerprint`.`ID` AS `VIdentityFingerPrintID`,`videntityfingerprint`.`FingerPrintID` AS `FingerPrintID`,`videntityfingerprint`.`FingerPrintFingerPrint` AS `FingerPrintFingerPrint` from ((`t_SR_u_Identity` `t` join `t_SR_u_User` `User` on((`User`.`c_r_Identity` = `t`.`c_id`))) join `vi_sr_videntity_0` `VIdentityFingerPrint` on((`videntityfingerprint`.`c_r_Identity` = `t`.`c_id`))) */; MySQL said: #1054 - Unknown column 'videntityfingerprint.ID' in 'field list' What does this mean? What is it expecting? How do I fix it? This file was created by mysqldump, so why are there errors when I import it?

  • Best CMS for doing private site with Charting

    - by anderswid
I'm really new to website development and for a project I need: No public pages. All private. Login+Password (Users, Admins) Being able to upload XML-files from Android device Parse this XML into something I can plot. Easy charting. Admin users being able to read all sub-users uploads. Doesn't have to look good. No blog-post. Strictly XML-Charts. I thought about using Wordpress, but I don't know if it's the best idea. I can code, but I don't have to much PHP + MySQL experience. Maybe there's something simpler? Thanks for taking the time.

  • Self Assesstment Tests for Programmers

    - by THX1138.6
I want to help the Dev team identify areas of knowledge (practical and theoretical) that they can work on. Though I am big believer in focusing on people's strengths being a good programmer requires (I think) being challenged by concepts and ideas that don't always come naturally. We work largely in the web app space using PHP & MySQL but better skills in data modelling, query optimisation, use of MVC and OOP etc. would help the team and the company a lot. I want to help the Dev team manage their careers, explore and expand their skills sets. Be all they can be and better than they were previously. I know its an idealistic goal but work must be about more than simply getting the work done. There should be some time to review, to learn, to grow and get better. Any thoughts, ideas, opinions and directions to tests or similar resources would be greatly appreciated.

  • search & replace on 3000 row, 25 column spreadsheet

    - by Deca
I'm attempting to clean up data in this (old) spreadsheet and need to remove things like single and double quotes, HTML tags and so on. Trouble is, it's a 3000 row file with 25 columns and every spreadsheet app I've tried (NeoOffice, MS Excel, Apple Numbers) chokes on it. Hard. Any ideas on how else I can clean this thing up for import to MySQL? Clearly I could go through each record manually, row by row, but would like to avoid that if at all possible. Likewise, I could write a PHP script to handle it on import, but don't want to put the server into a death spiral either.

  • What frameworks to use to bootstrap my first production scala project ?

    - by Jacques René Mesrine
I am making my first foray into scala for a production app. The app is currently packaged as a war file. My plan is to create a jar file of the scala compiled artifacts and add that into the lib folder for the war file. My enhancement is a mysql-backed app exposed via Jersey & will be integrated with a 3rd party site via HttpClient invocations. I know how to do this via plain java. But when doing it in scala, there are several decision points that I am pussyfooting on. scala 2.7.7 or 2.8 RC ? JDBC via querulous Is this API ready for production ? sbt vs maven. I am comfortable with maven. Is there a scala idiomatic wrapper for HttpClient (or should I use it just like in java) ? I'd love to hear your comments and experiences on starting out with scala. Thanks

  • Embedding a YouTube Video Based on a PHP Variable

    - by jeffpm
I have a website that I am creating for a class project. The website shows information about bands (which is stored in a mysql database). I am trying to spruce up the site a bit, and I would like to embed a YouTube video based on the band's name. Say, for instance, I have "Led Zeppelin" stored in my database. How can I take a PHP variable containing "Led Zeppelin", search YouTube using that variable, find a random video, and then embed that in the website? From the research I've done, it seems you can only embed YouTube videos if you know the exact address of the video. Thanks!

  • HSQLDB Constraint Violation & SQL Query Log for an HSQLDB in-memory setup

    - by shipmaster
We have a setup where we are using an embedded HSQLDB for backing Hibernate/JPA unit tests in java, and we are using the in-memory database mode since we simply want the database thrown away after the test run. My problem is that one of the tests is failing due to a constraint violation and HSQLDB lists the column as SYS_CT_286, and the query that appears in the log is the prepared statement where I cant see what the actual parameter values are (they are replaced by '?'). My questions are: 1- Is there a way in which I can see the actual SQL being executed? (like the mysql query log for example?). 2- What exactly is SYS_CT_286? it is not one of my columns, is it a generated column? is there something obvious that may be wrong with it? Thanks.

  • Get multiple records with one query

    - by Lewy
User table: name lastname Bob Presley Jamie Cox Lucy Bush Find users q = Query.new("Bob Presley, Cox, Lucy") q.find_users => {0=>{:name=>"Bob", :lastname=>"Presley"}, 1=>{:lastname=>"Cox"}, 2=>{:name=>"Lucy"}} Question: I've got hash with few names and lastnames. I need to build Activerecord query to fetch all users from that hash. I can do object = [] hash = q.find_users hash.each do |data| #check if data[:lastname] and data[:name] exist # object << User.where(:name => ..., :lastname => ...) end But I think it is higly inefficient. How should I do this ?

  • Entity-attribute-value model using codeigniter / php

    - by John Stewart
SO I am trying to create a way to structure my database to be able customize forms. I looked into EAV pattern and here is my db structure: Table form - form_id - form_name - form_added_on - form_modified_at Table: form_fields - field_id - form_id - field_type (TEXT, RADIO etc..) - field_default_value - field_required Table: form_data - data_id - field_id - form_id - field_value so now I can store any custom form into the database and if I want to get the values for an individual form I can simply join it by "form_id" .. the problem: I want to be able to search through all the forms for a specific field value. How can I do that with EAV model? Also, I thought about just storing the custom data as a serialized (JSON) object but then I am not sure how can I query that data. Please note that I am using Codeigniter with MYSQL. So if conversation can use Codeigniter libraries if needed.

  • Django: query with ManyToManyField count?

    - by AP257
In Django, how do I construct a COUNT query for a ManyToManyField? My models are as follows, and I want to get all the people whose name starts with A and who are the lord or overlord of at least one Place, and order the results by name. class Manor(models.Model): lord = models.ManyToManyField(Person, null=True, related_name="lord") overlord = models.ManyToManyField(Person, null=True, related_name="overlord") class Person(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=100) So my query should look something like this... but how do I construct the third line? people = Person.objects.filter( Q(name__istartswith='a'), Q(lord.count > 0) | Q(overlord.count > 0) # pseudocode ).order_by('name'))

  • Nhibernate criteria query inserts an extra order by expression when using JoinType.LeftOuterJoin and Projections

    - by Aaron Palmer
    Why would this nhibernate criteria query produce the sql query below? return Session.CreateCriteria(typeof(FundingCategory), "fc") .CreateCriteria("FundingPrograms", "fp") .CreateCriteria("Projects", "p", JoinType.LeftOuterJoin) .Add(Restrictions.Disjunction() .Add(Restrictions.Eq("fp.Recipient.Id", recipientId)) .Add(Restrictions.Eq("p.Recipient.Id", recipientId)) ) .SetProjection(Projections.ProjectionList() .Add(Projections.GroupProperty("fc.Name"), "fcn") .Add(Projections.Sum("fp.ObligatedAmount"), "fpo") .Add(Projections.Sum("p.ObligatedAmount"), "po") ) .AddOrder(Order.Desc("fpo")) .AddOrder(Order.Desc("po")) .AddOrder(Order.Asc("fcn")) .List<object[]>(); SELECT this_.Name as y0_, sum(fp1_.ObligatedAmount) as y1_, sum(p2_.ObligatedAmount) as y2_ FROM fundingCategories this_ inner join fundingPrograms fp1_ on this_.fundingCategoryId = fp1_.fundingCategoryId left outer join projects p2_ on fp1_.fundingProgramId = p2_.fundingProgramId WHERE (fp1_.recipientId = 6 /* @p0 */ or p2_.recipientId = 6 /* @p1 */) GROUP BY this_.Name ORDER BY p2_.name asc, y1_ desc, y2_ desc, y0_ asc It is incorrectly putting the p2_name asc into the ORDER BY statement, and causing it to crash. This only happens when I use JoinType.LeftOuterJoin on my Projects criteria. Is this a known nhibernate bug? I'm using nhibernate 2.0.1.4000. Thanks for any insight.

  • HQL query for entity with max value

    - by Rob
I have a Hibernate entity that looks like this (accessors ommitted for brevity): @Entity @Table(name="FeatureList_Version") @SecondaryTable(name="FeatureList", pkJoinColumns=@PrimaryKeyJoinColumn(name="FeatureList_Key")) public class FeatureList implements Serializable { @Id @Column(name="FeatureList_Version_Key") private String key; @Column(name="Name",table="FeatureList") private String name; @Column(name="VERSION") private Integer version; } I want to craft an HQL query that retrieves the most up to date version of a FeatureList. The following query sort of works: Select f.name, max(f.version) from FeatureList f group by f.name The trouble is that won't populate the key field, which I need to contain the key of the record with the highest version number for the given FeatureList. If I add f.key in the select it won't work because it's not in the group by or an aggregate and if I put it in the group by the whole thing stops working and it just gives me every version as a separate entity. So, can anybody help?

  • Optimizing a Soundex Query for finding similar names

    - by xkingpin
My application will offer a list of suggestions for English names that "sound like" a given typed name. The query will need to be optimized and return results as quick as possible. Which option would be most optimal for returning results quickly. (Or your own suggestion if you have one) A. Generate the Soundex Hash and store it in the "Names" table then do something like the following: (This saves generating the soundex hash for at least every row in my db per query right?) select name from names where NameSoundex = Soundex('Ann') B. Use the Difference function (This must generate the soundex for every name in the table?) select name from names where Difference(name, 'Ann') = 3 C. Simple comparison select name from names where Soundex(name) = Soundex('Ann') Option A seems like to me it would be the fastest to return results because it only generates the Soundex for one string then compares to an indexed column "NameSoundex" Option B should give more results than option A because the name does not have to be an exact match of the soundex, but could be slower Assuming my table could contain millions of rows, what would yield the best results?

  • Create a SQL query to retrieve most recent records

    - by mattruma
I am creating a status board module for my project team. The status board allows the user to to set their status as in or out and they can also provide a note. I was planning on storing all the information in a single table ... and example of the data follows: Date User Status Notes ------------------------------------------------------- 1/8/2009 12:00pm B.Sisko In Out to lunch 1/8/2009 8:00am B.Sisko In 1/7/2009 5:00pm B.Sisko In 1/7/2009 8:00am B.Sisko In 1/7/2009 8:00am K.Janeway In 1/5/2009 8:00am K.Janeway In 1/1/2009 8:00am J.Picard Out Vacation I would like to query the data and return the most recent status for each user, in this case, my query would return the following results: Date User Status Notes ------------------------------------------------------- 1/8/2009 12:00pm B.Sisko In Out to lunch 1/7/2009 8:00am K.Janeway In 1/1/2009 8:00am J.Picard Out Vacation I am try to figure out the TRANSACT-SQL to make this happen? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Output to jTextArea in realtime

    - by Robert
    I have some code which takes a few minutes to process, it has to connect to the web for each string in a long array, each string is a url. I want to make it so that everytime it connects, it should refresh the jtextarea so that the user is not staring into a blank page that looks frozen for 20 min. or however long it takes. here is an example of something i tried and didnt work: try { ArrayList<String> myLinks = LinkParser.getmyLinksArray(jTextArea1.getText()); for (String s : myLinks) { jTextArea2.append(LinkChecker.checkFileStatus(s) + "\n"); } } catch (IOException ex) { JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(jTextArea1, "Parsing Error", "Parsing Error", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE); Logger.getLogger(MYView.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); }

  • Databases design - one link table or multiple link tables?

    - by David
Hi there, I'm working on a front end for a database where each table essentially has a many to many relationship with all other tables. I'm not a DB admin, just a few basic DB courses. The typical solution in this case, as I understand it, would be multiple link tables to join each 'real' table. Here's what I'm proposing instead: one link table that has foreign key dependencies to all other PKs of the other tables. Is there any reason this could turn out badly in terms of scalability, flexibility, etc down the road?

  • Do I need to use C3P0 pooling library in my (grails) web application?

    - by fabien7474
Hi, I am not familiar at all with connection pooling library. I've just discovered it through this blog article) and I am not sure that I should use one in my web application based on grails/hibernate/mysql. So my question is simple : in which situations would you suggest to integrate a connection pooling library into a grails application? Always, Never or only over some connections threshold? P.S. : If you have ever used successfully C3P0 in your web application, I will greatly appreciate to hear your feedback (in terms of visible positive effects).

Can anyone help please? Cheers, Stephen PS: I just want to clarify that I don't use Visual Studio, I simple have a Text Editor and write my code directly into .aspx files.

  • same logged in user assigned different session ids (in different browsers)

    - by Lyon
Hi, I've implemented a mysql-based session interface in php. I just found out that if I log in to my account using browser A (e.g. Chrome), and then I log in to the same account in another browser B (e.g. IE), each browser is assigned 2 separate session ids. How can I make it such that when I log in again using browser B, I retain the active session of the previous browser A? The issue at hand is that I'm storing certain information in the session and the data not being synchronised between the same users in different browsers and is wrecking havoc. :S Is there a way to achieve this? Thanks!

  • Hard to append a table with many records into another without generating duplicates

    - by Bill Mudry
I may seem to be a bit wordy at first but for the hope it will be easier for all of you to understand what I am doing in the first place. I have an uncommon but enjoyable activity of collecting as many species of wood from around the world as I can (over 2,900 so far). Ok, that is the real world. Meanwhile I have spent over 8 years compiling over 5.8 meg of text data on all the woods of the world. That got so large that learning some basic PHP and MySQL was most welcome so I could build a new database driven home for all this research. I am still slow at it but getting there. The original premise was to find evidence of as many species of woods in the world I can. The more names identified, the more successful the project. I have named the project TAXA for ease of conversation (short for Taxonomy). You are most welcome to take a look at what I have so far at www.prowebcanada.com/taxa. It is 95% dynamically driven. So far I am reporting about 6,500 botanical wood names and, as said above, the more I can report, the more successful is the project. I have a file of all the woods in the second largest wood collection in the world, the Tervuren wood collection in the Netherlands with over 11,300 wood names even after cleaning out all duplicates. That is almost twice the number I am reporting now so porting all the new wood names from Tervuren to the 'species' table where I keep the reported data would be a major desirable advancement in the project. At one point I was able to add all the Tervuren records to the species table but over 3,000 duplicates also formed. They were not in the Tervuren file in the first place but represent the same wood names common to both files. It is common sense that there would be woods common to both that when merged would create new duplicates. At one point and with the help of others from another forum, I may very well have finally got the proper SQL statement. When I ran it, though, the system said (semi-amusingly at first) ----- that it had gone away! After looking up on the Net what could have have done this, one reason is that the MySQL timeout lapses and probably because of the large size of files I am running. I am running this on a rented account on Godaddy so I cannot go about trying to adjust any config file. For safety, I copied the tervuren.sql file as tervuren_target.sql and the species.sql file as species_master.sql tp use as working files just to make sure I protect the original files from destruction or damage. Later I can name the species_master back to just species.sql once I am happy all worked well. The species file has about 18 columns in it but only 5 columns match the columns in the Tervuren file (name for name and collation also). The rest of the columns are just along for the ride, so to speak. The common key in both is the 'species_name" columns in both. I am not sure it is at all proper to call one a primary key and the other a foreign key since there really is no relational connection to them. One is just more data for the other and can disappear after, never to be referred to the working code in the application. I have been very surprised and flabbergasted on how hard it can be to append records from one large table into another (with same column names plus others) without generating NEW duplicates in the first place. Watch out thinking that a SELECT DISTINCT statement may do the job because absolutely NO records in the species table must get destroyed in the process and there is no way (well, that I know of) to tell the 'DISTINCT" command this. Yes, the original 'species' table has duplicates in it even before all this but, trust me ---- they have to be removed the long hard way manually record by record or I will lose precious information. It is more important to just make sure no NEW duplicates form through bringing in new names in the tervuren_target.species_name into species.species_name. I am hoping and thinking that a straight SQL solution should work --- except for that nasty timeout. How do I get past that? Could it mean that I may have to turn to a PHP plus SQL method?? Or ..... would I have to break up the Tervuren files into a few smaller ones and run them independently (hope not....)" So far, what seems should be easy has proven to be unexpectedly tricky. I appreciate any help you can give but start from the assumption that this may be harder to do right than it may seem on the surface. By the way --- I am running a quad 64 bit system with Windows 7, so at least I have some fairly hefty power on the client end. I have a direct ethernet cable feeding a cable connection to the Internet. Once I get an algorithm and code working for this, I also have many other lists to process that could make the 'species' table grow even more. It could be equivalent to (ahem) lighting a rocket under my project (especially compared to do this record by record manually)! This is my first time in this forum, so I do not know how I can receive any replies. Do I have to to come back here periodically or are replies emailed out also? It would be great if you CC'd copies to me at billmudry at rogers.com :-) Much thanks for your patience and help, Bill Mudry Mississauga, Ontario Canada (next to Toronto).
