  I have asked another question on Hebbian learning before, and I guess I got a good answer which I accepted, but, the problem is that I now realize that I've mistaken about Hebbian learning completely, and that I'm a bit confused. So, could you please explain how it can be useful, and what for? Because the way Wikipedia and some other pages describe it - it doesn't make sense! Why would we want to keep increasing the weight between the input and the output neuron if the fire together? What kind of problems can it be used to solve, because when I simulate it in my head, it certainly can't do the basic AND, OR, and other operations (say you initialize the weights at zero, the output neurons never fire, and the weights are never increased!)

Now, I have a problem, I use the below code to generate an info-window, when clicking on the marker all the markers disappear unless one, also when I click on that marker there is no info-window come out. • How exactly does a program convert everything to UTF-8 internally?

  does it use setlocale()? does it assume utf-8 for all input strings when in a UTF-8 locale? I understand what unicode is and how it is related to utf-8, but how does one "convert to it" internally with all their strings? How does it convert all input strings to UTF-8? Does it use a C library function? Does the current working locale have to be a UTF-8 locale? UPDATE: if specific technical details could be in your answer, that would be great as that is more along the lines of what I'm looking for. I already understand the reasons for using UTF-8 internally and why it makes dealing with multiple locales much simpler.

  When I send the following query http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/services/search/local?v=1.0&q=coffee%20New%20York%20NY using c# WebClient.DownloadString function or ordinary web browser I get JSON data which is different from data for the same query using JavaScript and Google AJAX Search API. From REST service I get the following url field http://www.google.com/maps/place?source003duds0026q003dcoffee0026cid003d13245583795745066822 but from JavaScript query I get this url field http://www.google.com/maps/place?source=uds&q=coffee&cid=13245583795745066822 The problem with REST service answer is that the url it gives points to a web page with error message "We currently do not support the location". What am I doing wrong?

  Hi All, This might be a duplicate entry. Excuse me if it is. I was asked in an interview as to how does Windows OS differentiate between regular exe and .Net exe. My reply was, when .Net exe is build, the compiler emits some information into the header. The information is PE32 or PE32+. windows verifies the header to determine if it needs to load the MSCOREE.dll which loads the CLR and executes the exe. I am not sure if my answer is correct ?   I have a desktop application (forms) with a tab control, I assign a tab and a new custom webrowser control. I open up about 10 of these tabs. Each one visits about 100 - 500 different pages. The trouble is that if 1 webbrowser control has a problem it shuts down the entire program. I want to be able to close the offending webbrowser control and open a new one in it's place. Is there any event that I need to subscribe to catch a crashing or unresponsive webbrowser control ?   Apple's documentation for iOS 7 makes me think it is not, for it makes a distinction between "restored by the system" (i.e. built into iOS 7), "restored by your app" (i.e. functionality required inside app"), and "not required". The fact there being three (and not two) options and product type "consumable" being marked as "not restored" makes me think that an app that does not support restoring consumable product may still pass Apple's review process. However this popular question and answer seem to suggest that such support is required ("I read somewhere ...") But would this not amount to "consumable" taking on "restored by your app" semantics, which seems to contradict the quoted piece of Apple documentation.

• Why does my Eclipse crash all the time?

  Somehow stupid question, I have to admit - hope it won't cost me too many points. To make it clear: I would also be happy if you can help me find the reason for the crashes. I wouldn't expect a precise answer. However, I don't see why my Eclipse is crashing (freezing) all the time. Mostly when I save a file. For some reason, crashes seem to increase lately... I use Eclipse Helios (Version: 3.6.1) and java version "1.6.0_20" (OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.9.2) (6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu2) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 19.0-b09, mixed mode)) on Ubuntu 10.10 (64-Bit). My attempt at this so far is User.joins(:pets).where('pets.animal = ? AND pets.animal = ?','dog','cat') Now I understand why this doesn't work - it's looking for a pet that is both a dog and a cat so returns nothing. I don't know how to modify this to give me the answer I want however. Does anyone have any suggestions? This seems like it should be easy - it doesn't seem like an especially unusual situation.

• Touch event missing when pushing new view

  Hello, I am new in iPhone programming. At the moment I am trying to recognize a constant touch. For example I want the user to leave his finger on the screen for the whole application. I use a navigationcontroller which holds the different views. If the user now touches the screen in view1 and then the view is changed to view2 by pushing it on the stack (with pushviewcontroller) with still touching the screen then there are no touch events recognized by view2. If the user then releases his finger (no touch event) and touches the screen again then all events are recognized. Is this a bug or am I doing something totally wrong? I haven't found any answer on this. Could someone help me?

However, I seem to be quite bad at coming up with new things for it but I'm sure that there are tons of things out there that have been talked about but never really tried out. What experimental language features or concepts not implemented in mainstream languages are there at the moment? E.g: If I asked this in, let's say, 1960, an answer could be "Object-oriented programming". I'm sure that there are a lot of unimplemented ideas computer-scientists have (recently) come up with, at least I was told so.

  Is there a way to display User fields under a form that adds/edits a UserProfile model? I am extending default Django User model like this: class UserProfile(models.Model): user = models.OneToOneField(User, unique=True) about = models.TextField(blank=True) I know that it is possible to make a: class UserProfileInlineAdmin(admin.TabularInline): and then inline this in User ModelAdmin but I want to achieve the opposite effect, something like inverse inlining, displaying the fields of the model pointed by the OneToOne Relationship (User) in the page of the model defining the relationship (UserProfile). I don't care if it would be in the admin or in a custom view/template. I just need to know how to achieve this. I've been struggling with ModelForms and Formsets, I know the answer is somewhere there, but my little experience in Django doesn't allow me to come up with the solution yet. A little example would be really helpful!
