  • Writing a template for XSLT Copy-Of to transform a message with differences. How?

    - by Emanuel Schuster
    I have an xml message that is in the older schema (xsd) format. My new schema is exactly the same but I embedded an element inside the older one. For example : My old schema had an element : <exclude> MyRestriction </exclude> but my new schema is like this : <exclude> <restriction> MyRestriction </restriction> </exclude> and the entire message is the same as before. Last time I used to do a copy-of but now I need to have a template that copy-of everything but move the value of the exclude to the restriction tag. Anyone can help me please ? Thanks

  • Workaround for stopping propagation with live()?

    - by bobsoap
    I've run into the problem that has been addressed here without a workaround: I can't use stopPropagation() on dynamically spawned elements. I've tried creating a condition to exclude a click within the dimensions of the spawned element, but that doesn't seem to work at all. Here is what I got: 1) a large background element ("canvas") that is activated to be "sensitive to clicks on it" by a button 2) the canvas, if activated, catches all clicks on it and spawns a small child form ("child") within it 3) the child is positioned relative to the mouse click position. If the mouse click was on the right half of the canvas, the child will be positioned 200 pixels to the left of that spot. (On the right if the click was in the left half) 4) every new click on the canvas removes the existing child (if any) and spawns a new child at the new position (relative to the click) The problem: Since the spawned child element is on top of the canvas, a click on it counts as a click on the canvas. Even if the child is outside of the boundaries of the canvas, clicking on it will trigger the action as described in 4) again . This shouldn't happen. =========== CODE: The button to activate the canvas: $('a#activate').click(function(event){ event.preventDefault(); canvasActive(); }); I referenced the above to show you that the canvas click-catching is happening in a function. Not sure if this is relevant... This is the function that catches clicks on the canvas: function canvasActive() { $('#canvas').click(function(e){ e.preventDefault(); //get click position relative to canvas posClick = { x : Math.round(e.pageX - $(this).offset().left), y : Math.round(e.pageY - $(this).offset().top) }; //calculate child position if(posClick.x <= $canvas.outerWidth(false)/2) { posChild = { x: posClick.x + 200, //if dot is on the left side of canvas y: posClick.y }; } else { posChild = { x: posClick.x - 600, //if dot is on the right y: posClick.y }; } $(this).append(markup); //markup is just the HTML for the child }); } I left out the unimportant stuff. The question is: How can I prevent a click inside of a spawned child from executing the function? I tried getting the child's dimensions and doing something like "if posClick is within this range, don't do anything" - but I can't seem to get it right. Perhaps someone has come across this dilemma before. Any help is appreciated.

  • Implementing clone on a LinkedList

    - by devoured elysium
    I am trying to implement a clone() method on a DoubleLinkedList. Now, the problem is that implementing it by "the convention" is a lot more troublesome than just creating a new DoubleLinkedList and filling it with all the elements of my current DoubleLinkedList. Is there any inconvenient I am not seeing when doing that? Here is my current approach: @Override public DoubleLinkedList<T> clone() { DoubleLinkedList<T> dll = new DoubleLinkedList<T>(); for (T element : dll) { dll.add(element); } return dll; } Here is what it would be by the convention: @Override public DoubleLinkedList<T> clone() { try { DoubleLinkedList<T> dll = (DoubleLinkedList<T>)super.clone(); //kinda complex code to copy elements return dll; } catch (CloneNotSupportedException e) { throw new InternalError(e.toString()); } }

  • (Wordpress) Global variable to detect pagination?

    - by Gnee
    I am showing 6 posts on one page. On the 7th post, pagination occurs on so on. goal: If there is more than one page (page 1, 2, 3, etc..), JavaScript is to add a specific div element. If there are only 6 posts or less, no pagination occurs, no div element is added. The number of posts to show: $showposts = get_query_var('showposts'); The current post number I can keep track of: $post_count++; Problem is I can keep track of posts 1-6 but how to tell if if it goes over to 7 and starts pagination? I thought there was a global variable that returns if pagination occurs, but I can't seem to find it. (I know there is global to detect pagination via <!--nextpage--> but so far I can't find it's equivalent for index.php).

  • Please help with IFrame callback

    - by Code Sherpa
    Hi - thanks for clicking. I am trying to get status feedback using an IFrame for file uploads. I am not trying to get progress or percentages - just when a file is done uploading and if it was a success or failure. THE PROBLEM is that I can't seem to get the server response to appear on the client. I have to following design: I have an iframe on my page: <iframe id="target_frame" src="" style="border:0px; width:0px; height:0px"></iframe> The form tag points to it: <form enctype="multipart/form-data" id="fileUploadForm" name="fileUploadForm" action="picupload.aspx" method="post" target="target_frame"> And the submit button starts a file upload via the iframe: <input id="submit" type="submit" value="upload" /> In the picupload.aspx.cs file, I have a method that returns dynamic data. I then send it to the client: message = data; Response.Write(String.Format("<script language='javascript' type='text/javascript'>window.parent.handleResponse('{0}');</script>", message)); On the client, I have a response handler: function handleResponse(msg) { document.getElementById('statusDiv').innerHTML = msg; } My intent is to see the msg value change for each uploaded file but I never see anything appear in statusDiv, let alone dynamically changing messages. Can somebody please help??

  • Quick questions re moving to InfoPath forms

    - by sweissman
    Hi there: I’ve been asked to look into how best to move forms into InfoPath and have a couple of basic questions about your experiences so I can get an insider’s lay of the land. Even some short, quick bullets would be really helpful -- thank you! Are you starting from scratch in InfoPath, or are you converting from paper or a different e-format? (Jetform, PDF, etc.) Are you trying to re-create the layout of a specific paper form, or is a regular online form OK? (trying to learn what the latest thinking is about this) Do you need only simple fill and submit capabilities, or do you need programming for calculations, validation, database lookup/entry/reporting, etc. as well? (don’t know how much harder it is to do all this vs. not) How long does each form take to finish? (I know it depends, but is there a rough guideline for planning purposes?) Who’s doing the actual work? (by title or function) What is especially straightforward or challenging about moving to InfoPath forms? (forewarned is forearmed!)

  • do.call(rbind, list) for uneven number of column

    - by h.l.m
    I have a list, with each element being a character vector, of differing lengths I would like to bind the data as rows, so that the column names 'line up' and if there is extra data then create column and if there is missing data then create NAs Below is a mock example of the data I am working with x <- list() x[[1]] <- letters[seq(2,20,by=2)] names(x[[1]]) <- LETTERS[c(1:length(x[[1]]))] x[[2]] <- letters[seq(3,20, by=3)] names(x[[2]]) <- LETTERS[seq(3,20, by=3)] x[[3]] <- letters[seq(4,20, by=4)] names(x[[3]]) <- LETTERS[seq(4,20, by=4)] The below line would normally be what I would do if I was sure that the format for each element was the same... do.call(rbind,x) I was hoping that someone had come up with a nice little solution that matches up the column names and fills in blanks with NAs whilst adding new columns if in the binding process new columns are found...

  • Linking to a section of a site that is hidden by a hide/show JavaScript function

    - by hollyb
    I am using a bit of JavaScript to show/hide sections of a site when a tab is clicked. I'm trying to figure out if there is a way I can link back to the page and have a certain tab open based on that link. Here is the JS: var ids=new Array('section1','section2','section3','section4'); function switchid(id, el){ hideallids(); showdiv(id); var li = el.parentNode.parentNode.childNodes[0]; while (li) { if (!li.tagName || li.tagName.toLowerCase() != "li") li = li.nextSibling; // skip the text node if (li) { li.className = ""; li = li.nextSibling; } } el.parentNode.className = "active"; } function hideallids(){ //loop through the array and hide each element by id for (var i=0;i<ids.length;i++){ hidediv(ids[i]); } } function hidediv(id) { //safe function to hide an element with a specified id document.getElementById(id).style.display = 'none'; } function showdiv(id) { //safe function to show an element with a specified id document.getElementById(id).style.display = 'block'; } And the HTML <ul> <li class="active"><a onclick="switchid('section1', this);return false;">One</a></li> <li><a onclick="switchid('section2', this);return false;">Two</a></li> <li><a onclick="switchid('section3', this);return false;">Three</a></li> <li><a onclick="switchid('section4', this);return false;">Four</a></li> </ul> <div id="section1" style="display:block;"> <div id="section2" style="display:none;"> <div id="section3" style="display:none;"> <div id="section4" style="display:none;"> I haven't been able to come up with a way to link back to a specific section. Is it even possible with this method? Thanks!

  • How to determine item at a index in pattern

    - by el.gringogrande
    I have the following elements in a list/array a1,a2,a3 and these elements are used to build another list in a predictable pattern example a1,a1,a2,a2,a3,a3,a1,a1,a2,a2,a3,a3... The pattern may change but I will always know how many times each element repeats and all elements repeats the same number of times. And the elements always show up in the same order. so another pattern might be a1,a1,a1,a2,a2,a2,a3,a3,a3,a1,a1,a1,a2,a2,a2,a3,a3,a3... or a1,a2,a3,a1,a2,a3 it will never be a2,a2,a1,a1,a3,a3... or a1,a2,a3,a2,a3,a1 etc How I determine what element is at any index in the list?

  • HTML5 - Need explanation about outline

    - by RhymeGuy
    So, lets say that I have the following structure: <doctype html> <header> <h1>Header</h1> <article><h2>Article</h2></article> <article><h2>Article</h2></article> </header> <main> <h1>Main content</h1> <article><h2>Article</h2></article> <article><h2>Article</h2></article> <article><h2>Article</h2></article> <article><h2>Article</h2></article> </main> <section> <h1>Sidebar</h1> </section> If i check outline using http://gsnedders.html5.org/outliner/ (or any other), I'll get outline like this: 1. Main content 1. Header 1. Article 2. Article 2. Article 3. Article 4. Article 5. Article 6. Sidebar Which (from my understanding) is not correct. I have thought that it should look like this: 1. Header 1. Article 2. Article 2. Main content 1. Article 2. Article 3. Article 4. Article 3. Sidebar Why this happens? I can get desired outline if I use section element. But id there is main element in HTML structure, then everything breaks (at least for me - it's not how I understood it). Can I achieve desired outline using main element?

  • Beginner PHP: I can't insert data into MYSQL database

    - by Victor
    I'm learning PHP right now and I'm trying to insert data into a MySQL database called "pumpl2" The table is set up like this. create table product ( productid int unsigned not null auto_increment primary key, price int(9) not null, value int(9) not null, description text ); I have a form and want to insert the fields from the form in the database. Here is what the php file looks like. <?php // create short variable names $price = $_POST['price']; $value = $_POST['value']; $description = $_POST['description']; if (!$price || !$value || !$description) { echo "You have not entered all the required details.<br />" ."Please go back and try again."; exit; } @ $db = new mysqli('localhost', 'pumpl', '********', 'pumpl2'); if (mysqli_connect_errno()) { echo "Error: Could not connect to database. Please try again later."; exit; } $query = "insert into pumpl2 values ('".$price."', '".$value."', '".$description."')"; $result = $db->query($query); if ($result) { echo $db->affected_rows." product inserted into database."; } else { echo "An error has occurred. The item was not added."; } $db->close(); ?> When I submit the form, I get an error message "An error has occurred. The item was not added." Does anyone know what the problem is? Thank you!

  • Rails: Can't set or update tag_list using a text field with acts_as_taggable_on

    - by Josh
    Hey everyone, I'm trying to add tagging to a rails photo gallery system I'm working on. It works from the back-end, but if I try to set or change it in the form view, it doesn't work. I added acts_as_taggable to the photo model and did the migrations. My gallery builder is programmed to add one tag automatically to each photo it creates. This works fine, just as if it were setting it for the console. However, I can't seem to set tags using a text_field in the photo form. Here's the code I added to my photo form: <p> <%= f.label :tag_list %><br /> <%= f.text_field :tag_list %> </p> Now, that's pretty trivial, and since :tag_list supports single-string comma-separated assignment (e.g. tag_list = "this, that, the other" #= ['this', 'that', 'the other']), I don't see why using a text field doesn't work. And to make even less sense, if a tag list has already been populated, the list will still show up in the text field when editing the photo. I just can't seem to commit any changes to the list. The documentation on their github page doesn't appear to give any information on how to set these values from the view. Any ideas? Oh, and I'm using the Rails 3 gem version.

  • Convert integer to equivalent number of blank spaces.

    - by mike
    I was wondering what the easiest way is to convert an integer to the equivalent number of blank spaces. I need it for the spaces between nodes when printing a binary search tree. I tried this `int position = printNode.getPosition(); String formatter = "%1"+position+"s%2$s\n"; System.out.format(formatter, "", node.element);` But I am getting almost 3 times as many spaces compared to the int value of position. I'm not really sure if I am formatting the string right either. Any suggestions would be great! If it makes it clearer, say position = 6; I want 6 blank spaces printed before my node element.

  • Problem with moving a winform using C#

    - by karthik
    My form doesn't have a title bar, so I am implementing the code to drag the entire form around the screen. I am using the below code to do it, which works fine. I have two panels in my form, PanelA and PanelB. During the startup I show PanelA where the dragging works perfectly. Later when the user clicks the button in PanelA, I need to make PanelA invisible and show PanelB However, the dragging does not work when PanelB is shown. What's the problem here? private void SerialPortScanner_MouseUp(object sender, MouseEventArgs e) { this.drag = false; } private void SerialPortScanner_MouseDown(object sender, MouseEventArgs e) { this.drag = true; this.start_point = new Point(e.X, e.Y); } private void SerialPortScanner_MouseMove(object sender, MouseEventArgs e) { if (this.drag) { Point p1 = new Point(e.X, e.Y); Point p2 = this.PointToScreen(p1); Point p3 = new Point(p2.X - this.start_point.X, p2.Y - this.start_point.Y); this.Location = p3; } }

  • OOP/MVC advice on where to place a global helper function

    - by franko75
    Hi, I have a couple of controllers on my site which are handling form data. The forms use AJAX and I have quite a few methods across different controllers which are having to do some specific processing to return errors in a JSON encoded format - see code below. Obviously this isn't DRY and I need to move this code into a single helper function which I can use globally, but I'm wondering where this should actually go! Should I create a static helper class which contains this function (e.g Validation::build_ajax_errors()), or as this code is producing a format which is application specific and tied into the jQuery validation plugin I'm using, should it be a static method stored in, for example, my main Website controller which the form handling controllers extend from? //if ajax request, output errors if (request::is_ajax()) { //need to build errors into array form for javascript validation - move this into a helper method accessible globally $errors = $post->errors('form_data/form_error_messages'); $i = 0; $new_errors = array(); foreach ($errors as $key => $value) { $new_errors[$i][0] = '#' . $key; $new_errors[$i][1] = $value; $new_errors[$i][2] = "error"; $i++; } echo '{"jsonValidateReturn":' . json_encode($new_errors) . '}'; return; }

  • How can I print N array elements with delimiters per line?

    - by Mark B
    I have an array in Perl I want to print with space delimiters between each element, except every 10th element which should be newline delimited. There aren't any spaces in the elements if that matters. I've written a function to do it with for and a counter, but I wondered if there's a better/shorter/canonical Perl way, perhaps a special join syntax or similar. My function to illustrate: sub PrintArrayWithNewlines { my $counter = 0; my $newlineIndex = shift @_; foreach my $item (@_) { ++$counter; print "$item"; if($counter == $newlineIndex) { $counter = 0; print "\n"; } else { print " "; } } }

  • Any PHP MVC framework planning to use 5.3 features?

  • How to post only a specific ASCX partial instead of the whole page

    - by Hallaghan
    I've got an ASPX page rendering a search ascx page which in turn will fill a grid on the main ASPX page. Aside that, I've also got an ascx page which uploads files, like this: <form method="post" action="<%= Url.Action("UploadFile") %>" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <fieldset> <input type="file" name="file" id="file" /> <%=Html.ButtonSubmit("Upload") %> </fieldset></form> Here's the problem: imagine I have searched for a single entry to be displayed on the grid. The grid displays this single entry and after wards, I upload a file and press the button "Upload". The whole page gets posted and the content in the grid is lost, now displaying all the results available. What could I do to prevent this from happening, maintaining the grid state (we're not using ViewState) or otherwise not posting back the whole page but only the ascx with the file upload? Note: I'm new to MVC.
