How to properly set path to media files in Django

Hello. I've got a new project, and currently I'm trying to set it correctly. But somehow I can't make my media files work. Here's my current setting : MEDIA_ROOT = os.path.normpath( '/home/budzyk/rails/fandrive/site_media/' ) templates setting work on the other hand : TEMPLATE_DIRS = ( "/home/budzyk/rails/fandrive/templates", ) Catalog with media files is ../fandrive/site-media/ so why it's not working ? Ajax progress with PHP session

I have an app that processes images and use jQuery to display progress to the user. I done this with writing to a textfile each time and image is processed and than read this status with a setInterval. Because no images are actually written in the processing (I do it in PHP's memory) I thought a log.txt would be a solution, but I am not sure about all the fopen and fread's. Is this prone to issues? I tried also with PHP sessions, but can't seem to get it to work, I don't get why.. CSS problem on HTTPS pages (IE8 toolbar BHO)

I am developing an IE8 toolbar in C#. The toolbar has a button which when clicked adds some user defined content to the page. I am using a BHO to add the required HTML, CSS & JS to the page. Things are fine with "http" pages. But, when a "https" page is loaded, user keeps getting the IE warning "Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?....". I traced the problem to some css rules, where I am using local png files which are already installed on the user's machine. Is there any way by which I can access the png files on the local machine without getting the IE8 warning?

How to prevent a specific directory from running Php, Html, and Javascript languages?

Hi, Let's say i have an image uploader script, i want to prevent the upload directory from executing Php or even html by only showing it as plain text, i've seen this trick in many websites but i don't know how they do it. Briefly, if i upload evil.php to that directory, and i try to access it i will only see a plain text source , No html or php is executed. ( but i still want the images to appear normally ofcourse) I know i can do like that by header("content-type:text/plain"); but that's will not be helpful, because what i want, is to set the content-type:text/plain automatically by the server for every thing outputed from the upload directory except images. Note: i'm running php 5.3.2/Cent OS and the latest cPanel. Thanks

whats the point of using template?

I am under the impression that if I set it as a template in Dreamweaver, any changes made should be saved to a new filename. I've copied the "template" that I made and sometimes I forget to save it as a different file name and it would overwrite previous web content. I just don't get the point of "save as template" if it works just like a document... it doesn't force me to save as a different filename. Common sense in me thinks that the software should evaluate like this, "if this is a template, always save as a different filename when it's modified so nothing is changed to the template, but rather a new file is created with the new content following that template." Am I missing something? Am I always doomed to using Save As...?

problem loading resource from class library

I have a class library (mylibrary) which has a resource called "close.png". I used redGate reflector to confirm that the resource is actually present in the dll. Now i use mylibrary.dll in a project where i attempt to extract this "close.png" resource like this : BitmapImage crossImage = new BitmapImage(); crossImage.BeginInit(); crossImage.UriSource = new Uri(@"/mylibrary;component/Resources/close.png", UriKind.RelativeOrAbsolute); crossImage.EndInit(); This BitmapImage crossImage is then used like : Button closeButton = new Button() { Content = new System.Windows.Controls.Image() { Source = crossImage }, MaxWidth = 20, MaxHeight = 20 }; On doing this i get no exceptions being thrown but the button shows no image. Also, i do see some exception info if i investigate the button's 'content' in the debugger.

How to find 2D grid cells swept by a moving circle?

I'm making a game based on a 2D grid, with some cells passable and some not. Dynamic objects can move continuously, independent of the grid, but need to collide with impassable cells. I wrote an algorithm to trace a ray against the grid, that gives me all cells that ray intersects. However, actual object are not point-sized; I'm currently representing them as circles. But I can't figure out an effective algorithm to trace a moving circle. Here's a picture of what I need: The numbers show in what order the circle collides with grid cells. Does anybody know the algorithm to find these collisions? Preferably in C#. Update The circle can be bigger than a single grid cell.

The google page speed tool recommends me to set 'Expires' headers for images etc. But what is the most efficient way to set an Expires header for an image? How to pass a value between Silverlight pages for WP7?

I've got a MainPage.xaml page a Detail.xaml page. I've passed variables to the Detail.xaml from MainPage.xaml by using a static variable and referencing it in Detail.xaml (the detail page is acting like a dialog). However once I've updated the content of another object, I want to call a method in MainPage.xaml to refresh the content of that page using the updated object from the Detail.xaml page. I assume I am not using the correct paradigm for this and should probably be using MVVM or something but I'm not familiar with the implementation and was hoping there was a simple way to do this?

I got stocked passing parameter to one master page for some reasons, seems the page lifecycle and dynamic loading of the master pages has got some issues with defining public properties in the masterpage within my project. It did not set my values and as a result, properties became useless. A collegue just mentioned using HttpContext. have a look what MSDN saying "Encapsulates all HTTP-specific information about an individual HTTP request" http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.httpcontext.aspx HttpContext.Current.Items["ParameterName"] Also, Page.Items could do the same thing. Jquery Ajax Request working on Ubuntu but not working on Debian?

I have a strange bug. I develop my application under linux ubuntu. Then i export my project under linux debian for production. I use a classic $.ajax request which return to url ,a json file to parse its content. I created a javascript alert() on the sucess part to see what is returned. Under the developpement version under ubuntu, it's works and i get : [object Object],[object Object],[object Object] Under the production environnement under debian, it's not working and i get my jsonfile content : [ { "cell_line" : "", "id_user" : "2", "public" : "0", },{...},{..} ,etc...] What is going on here? I really don't understand? How the change of platform (ubuntu to debian) can do this??? There is something I am missing.. I'll really appreciate some help on that. Thanks!

Hopefully this is a pretty simple question! I've got the code working in jQuery to listen for a specific form on a page to be submitted and perform an alert when it is.. I.e.: The form itself doesn't have a name so I am targetting the form within a specific form ID. $("#content form").submit(function() { alert("lorem ipsum dolor?"); }); What would be the syntax for performing this in javascript alone without using jquery? For some reason, Urban Airship is making each character of the string into its own tag. I've tried to substitute the - for a string neg with the same results. What's wrong?

Remove anchor from URL in C#

I'm trying to pull in an src value from an XML document, and in one that I'm testing it with, the src is: <content src="content/Orwell - 1984 - 0451524934_split_2.html#calibre_chapter_2"/> That creates a problem when trying to open the file. I'm not sure what that #(stuff) suffix is called, so I had no luck searching for an answer. I'd just like a simple way to remove it if possible. I suppose I could write a function to search for a # and remove anything after, but that would break if the filename contained a # symbol (or can a file even have that symbol?) Thanks!
