  • Fulltext for innoDB? or a good solution for php app

    I have a table I want to run a fulltext search on, but it is currently innoDB and is using a lot of foreign keys for other kinds of queries. Should I make like a 1:1 "meta-data" table that is myisam for fulltext? Also I am reading some things that say that fulltext corrupts MySQL tables pretty randomly? I dunno, the articles are a couple years old, maybe they've fixed that in 5+? If not what's a good solution for searching? Zend_Lucene seems cool but slow, even with caching, for the client's large tables and autocomplete functionality et al.

  • Specific ordering of records based on list of IDs? with MySQL & PHP

    I have a 'user' table in MySQL When users login to my app, they can see a list of all other users and via some javascript-drag-drop can arrange which order the other users appear in. We want to save that order. And it is saved to their record (i.e. 'order_pref' = 4,3,5,23... list of user_ids in the order they specified). So that's fine but when it comes to displaying.. Is there an easy way I can sort based on this comma delimited list of user_ids using just one query?

    Hi, i don't know about regular expressions, I asked here for one that: gets either anything up to the first parenthesis/colon or the first word inside the first parenthesis. This was the answer: preg_match('/(?:^[^(:]+|(?<=^\\()[^\\s)]+)/', $var, $match); I need an improvement, I need to get either anything up to the first parenthesis/colon/quotation marks or the first word inside the first parenthesis.     I'm trying to add user submitted articles to my website, (only for admins). With each article comes an option to upload up to 3 images. My database is set up like this Articles id user_id title body date_added last_edited Photos id (auto_increment) article_id First I save the article in the database, then I upload the photo (temporarily) then I create a new photo record in the database saving the article_id. Then I rename the uploaded photo to be the same as the primary key of the photo record, and to be a png. $filename = $photo->id . '.png'; I figured this would be a good way to prevent files form being overwritten. This seems flawed to me. Any suggestions on how I should save my records and photos? Thanks

I want to access the headers value (on the second line above) - simple: $data->headers I want to access the headers value (on the fourteenth line after the stdClass:: stuff) - how? How can I possibly access the values within the stdClass::__set_state section? I tried var_export($data->parts); but all I get is NULL

(code: 3) so, there are two errors. i'm pretty sure if the renaming works, i won't even need the mkdir, but who knows... can anyone tell me why these are errors and how to fix them? thanks!
