  In Silverlight project I have this exception when I tried to Add a new object to a DataGrid when a button is clicked. In the DomainService class.. I know I have to implement the Add operation for the new Entity I'm putting, but how can I do that? • MVC Html.ActionLink not passing querystring properly

  This seems like it should be pretty straight forward, but I'm apparently confused. I have a List view that displays a paged list. At the bottom I have a set of actionlinks: <%= Html.ActionLink("First Page", "List", new { page = 1} ) %> &nbsp; <%= Html.ActionLink("Prev Page", "List", new { page = Model.PageNumber - 1 }) %> &nbsp; <%= Html.ActionLink("Next Page", "List", new { page = Model.PageNumber + 1 }) %> &nbsp; <%= Html.ActionLink("Last Page", "List", new { page = Model.LastPage } )%> I'm using the basic default routes setup, except with "List" substituted for "Index": routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "List", id = UrlParameter.Optional } // Parameter defaults ); The problem is that the ActionLink helpers are generating links of the form: http://localhost:2083/Retrofit?page=2 rather than http://localhost:2083/Retrofit/?page=2 (with the trailing slash after the controller name & before the query string). When the first URL is routed, it completely loses the query string - if I look at Request.QueryString by the time it gets to the controller, it's null. If I enter the second URL (with the trailing slash), it comes in properly (i.e., QueryString of "page=2"). So how can I either get the ActionLink helper to generate the right URL, or get the Routing to properly parse what ActionLink is generating? Thanks.

  I currently register a content observer on the following URI "content://sms/" to listen out for incoming and outgoing messages being sent.   I have a J2EE application running on an IBM Websphere Application Server on a Windows Operating System. Analyzing the heap dump, the memory occupied by the heap is about 500Mb. Given the relatively normal number of threads and heap size a lot lower than the maximum, I am trying to figure out why I see this error? • T-SQL: Compute Subtotals For A Range Of Rows

  MSSQL 2008. I am trying to construct a SQL statement which returns the total of column B for all rows where column A is between 2 known ranges. The range is a sliding window, and should be recomputed as it might be using a loop. Here is an example of what I'm trying to do, much simplified from my actual problem. Suppose I have this data: table: Test Year Sales ----------- ----------- 2000 200 2001 200 2002 200 2003 200 2004 200 2005 200 2006 200 2007 200 2008 200 2009 200 2010 200 2011 200 2012 200 2013 200 2014 200 2015 200 2016 200 2017 200 2018 200 2019 200 I want to construct a query which returns 1 row for every decade in the above table, like this: Desired Results: DecadeEnd TotalSales --------- ---------- 2009 2000 2010 2000 Where the first row is all the sales for the years 2000-2009, the second for years 2010-2019. The DecadeEnd is a sliding window that moves forward by a set ammount for each row in the result set.   I create a simple table in SqlServer .. key field integer, 4 strings and a Timestamp This Table is called Event .. which pluralizes to Events.(the checkbox was ticked) I run the Entity Builder in VS2010 just adding this table only. EntityModelXXX x = new EntityModelXXX(); // create an object 'e' here x.AddToEvents(e); produces an error : The EntitySet name 'EntityModelXXX.Events' could not be found. It doesn't seem to find the set .. why?

• Flex builder3 is not generating html wrapper when targeting flex 4 sdk

  In Flex builder 3 when I create a new flex application targeting the flex 4 sdk, it wont generate a html wrapper file. I have hunted around the web for answers, but no success. I have made sure the box is checked in the project properties to generate html wrapper. The only workaround is to target an older version of the sdk (i.e. 3.2), which will cause the wrapper to be generated. Then I can revert the project to sdk 4. This then means I can never do a clean of my project because this will result in the wrapper being deleted. Has anyone else come across this? Is this just a bug with Flexbuilder3?

• Entity Framework with MySQL - Timeout Expired while Generating Model

  I've constructed a database in MySQL and I am attempting to map it out with Entity Framework, but I start running into "GenerateSSDLException"s whenever I try to add more than about 20 tables to the EF context. An exception of type 'Microsoft.Data.Entity.Design.VisualStudio.ModelWizard.Engine.ModelBuilderEngine+GenerateSSDLException' occurred while attempting to update from the database. The exception message is: 'An error occurred while executing the command definition. See the inner exception for details.' Fatal error encountered during command execution. Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. There's nothing special about the affected tables, and it's never the same table(s), it's just that after a certain (unspecific) number of tables have been added, the context can no longer be updated without the "Timeout expired" error. Sometimes it's only one table left over, and sometimes it's three; results are pretty unpredictable. Furthermore, the variance in the number of tables which can be added before the error indicates to me that perhaps the problem lies in the size of the query being generated to update the context which includes both the existing table definitions, and also the new tables that are being added to it. Essentially, the SQL query is getting too large and it's failing to execute for some reason. If I generate the model with EdmGen2 it works without any errors, but the generated EDMX file cannot be updated within Visual Studio without producing the aforementioned exception. In all likelihood the source of this problem lies in the tool within Visual Studio given that EdmGen2 works fine, but I'm hoping that perhaps others could offer some advice on how to approach this very unique issue, because it seems like I'm not the only person experiencing it. One suggestion a colleague offered was maintaining two separate EBMX files with some table crossover, but that seems like a pretty ugly fix in my opinion. I suppose this is what I get for trying to use "new technology". :(

I mean to say that the information extracted by my code for the date of call is one mont back than the actual call date. I have the following in the Emulator: I saved a contact. • iPad SplitView changes main navigation bar color

  Weird problem: After rotating my app to portrait, picking the toolbar item and exposing the uipopovercontroller, if I rotate back to landscape, the UINavigationController on the right side (objectAtIndex:0 of the SplitView) changes the color of the navigation bar. I am not sure why. I have it set in Interface Builder to be barStyle = UIBarStyleBlackOpaque; It turns silver after it returns to landscape mode. This only happens if I rotate it to portrait, create the popover, and select something in the navigation controller, which pushes another tableViewController. Even setting the properties in the viewDidLoad method does nothing. Anyone have an idea?

It all works fine when I run the release build on my computer, but when I run the release build on a friends computer, the data from the database doesn't get loaded. Problem is, I can't work out how to debug this because it's the release build, and I've only got Flash Builder 4 on my computer, where it all works fine.   I have been using UIViewControllers and initWithNibName with much success, basically using them as a convenient way to design the view with Interface Builder. Unfortunately I have built a hierarchy of views before noticing this line in the UIViewController documentation: Note: You should not use view controllers to manage views that fill only a part of their window My question is this: Having a very simple NIB that only has a UIView in addition to the default First Responder and Owning Object, what is the simplest way to load the UIView into my code? I have not been able to get loadNibNamed:owner:options: to work at this point, but suspect the answer will involve it somehow.

• OAuth with Google Reader API using Objective C

  I'm using the gdata OAuth controllers to get an OAuth token and then signing my requests as instructed. [auth authorizeRequest:myNSURLMutableRequest] It works great for GET requests but POSTs are failing with 401 errors. I knew I wouldn't be able to remain blissfully ignorant of the OAuth magic. The Google Reader API requires parameters in the POST body. OAuth requires those parameters to be encoded in the signature like they were on the query string. It doesn't appear the gdata library does this. I tried hacking it in the same way it handles the query string but no luck. This is so difficult to debug as all I get is a 401 from the Google black box and I'm left to guess. I really want to use OAuth so I don't have to collect login credentials from my users but I'm about to scrap it and go with the simpler cookie based authentication that is more mature. It's possible I'm completely wrong about the reason it's failing. This is my best guess. Any suggestions for getting gdata to work or maybe an alternative iphone friendly OAuth library?

• Common Table Expressions slow when using a table variable

  I have been experimenting with the following (simplified) CTE. When using a table variable () the query runs for minutes before I cancel it. Any of the other commented out methods return in less than a second. If I replace the whole WHERE clause with an INNER JOIN it is fast as well. Any ideas why using a table variable would run so slowly? FWIW: The database contains 2.5 million records and the inner query returns 2 records. • crystal reports : cannot determine the queries necessary to get data for this report

  I've recently come across the following error in one of my crystal reports following an accounting system update. Group #1: ? - A : This group section cannot be printed because its condition field is nonexistent or invalid. Format the section to choose another condition field. I've verified every database field being used to ensure it still exists for consistency and checked the formulas for that section. No dice. So to hopefully fix the problem, i remove the section using the Section expert. I run the same database checks. It then complains with the same error for Group #5. So i remove that as well. now I have a new and unusual error when i attempt to run 'Show Query'. the error is: "Cannot determine the queries necessary to get data for this report" I have tried to logon/logoff the database and verify database. No complaints until i try to run, show query. When I attempt to run the report, it also throws the same error. any ideas? Am I approaching this incorrectly? this is done in crystal reports 10. note: this report is run with the sql sa user to eliminate any permission issues.

In particular, the query executes quickly (say 100 ms), but finding the size of the resulting List< takes about one second! Indeed, whatever operation I try to perform on the resulting list takes about a second. Has anybody seen this behavior? Is it expected? Unusual? Any way around it?   I am currently using the DevBridge jQuery Autocomplete plugin - it works fine as is, however I would like to display the returned information in a multi-column view, but yet when clicked only return the first value. REFERENCEID | POSTCODE | ADDRESS_LINE_1 | SURNAME I would have liked to wrap the whole return up as a <table> but I can't figure out where to put the start <table> and end </table> tags, or do I just replace | with </div><div>. Then, when an item is selected, instead of returning REFERENCEID | POSTCODE | ADDRESS_LINE_1 | SURNAME I would just like to see REFERENCEID

• MySQL 5 multiple JOIN syntax not working in MySQL 4

  Hello all, the current SQL query works fine locally on MAMP 1.8.4 running MySQL 5.1.37. SELECT EL.log_actions, EL.log_date, EL.log_value, EL.log_type, EA.admins_name, EU.users_name, EU.users_matric FROM events_log EL JOIN events_users EU USING (users_id) JOIN events_admins EA USING (admins_id) ORDER BY EL.log_id DESC LIMIT 0, 10 However, when I bring this query live to production server which is running MySQL 4.1.22-standard, the following error occurred (whether or not there are data in the entry). A Database Error Occurred Error Number: 1054 Unknown column 'sceclub_exclaim2007.EU.admins_id' in 'on clause' SELECT EL.log_actions, EL.log_date, EL.log_value, EL.log_type, EA.admins_name, EU.users_name, EU.users_matric FROM events_log EL JOIN events_users EU USING (users_id) JOIN events_admins EA USING (admins_id) ORDER BY EL.log_id DESC LIMIT 0, 20 This is based on CodeIgniter 1.7.2 and both production and development are running the same set of database.
