When using the Zune desktop software, is it possible to view a list of all unplayed downloaded podcasts?
I don't want to have to keep looking through each individual subscribed podcast for any new shows.
Is it possible to install SQL Server Express 2005 SP3 on Windows 2008 Server R2? If so, is there anything special that needs to be done to get it to install properly? I ran into some issues with the installer and wasn't sure if it could be installed with 2008 R2.
I am using Team Viewer to control my PCs remotely. It lets me restart my PC, and this is a good feature.
Is it possible to remotely start a PC which is already turned off? Maybe it's impossible but I like to ask Superusers. All I can think of is something like sending a signal to PC's BIOS. Assume that all components of PC is connected to electrical socket and the router is on.
I am unable to get excel 2010 beta to save to a directory which contains square brackets. I have to save elsewhere and copy in. Is there any workaround? Was this a problem with older versions?
I realize that I could manually change the directory names, but I didn't want to forgo a long standing organization scheme for the sake of one program if possible to avoid the problem.
Hi. i know that in Linux i can stream using vlc and ffmpeg. i was able to successfully stream using vlc but only in static bitrates. i must set 400k/s or 800k/s. i want it to use as much upload bandwidth as it can consume. so if my internet line is not busy and i'm not downloading anything the quality will be better. is it possible to do such a thing?

I am trying to test functionality related to timezone handling/conversion
during synchronization between two of my test servers (currently they are running on same mashine).
Is it possible to set up hosts so one will be running, say, by London time, and the other by Moscow?
Web applications running on both servers are written on Perl.
Two part question:
I am having a difficulty regarding receiving my mail. I have 3 Gmail accounts & 1 Yahoo account. In Windows, I use Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express. What email client can I use on my Mac?
The second part is that my system administrator has banned accessing Gmail and Yahoo mail via their websites. Is it possible to still access it anyway?
Hi
Is it possible to have Ubuntu 8.10 as second (or third) boot with Ubuntu 9.10 as first boot ?
I have not been able to get it to work, may be issues with Grub.
PS : Don't ask me why I want this sort of dual boot, long story !
I have an external hard drive with my music on it, and I would like to make playlists on my computer that will play on the 360. Is there any way I can do this? What formats would be possible (m3u? pls?)?
I have too much music to make the playlists on the 360.
I have 2 folders:
/home/sphinx/articlesdb/
and:
/home/sphinx/tmp/articlesdb/
I want to move and overwrite all of the files from tmp into the main folder.
I am currently using:
mv -f /home/sphinx/tmp/articlesdb/ /home/sphinx/
But I get this error:
mv: cannot move `/home/sphinx/tmp/articlesdb/' to a subdirectory of itself, `/home/sphinx/articlesdb'
It needs to do this as fast as possible so I don't want to copy.
Should I remove /home/sphinx/articlesdb/ completely and then run the mv command or do I just need to tweak the command slightly?
I'm pretty new to Macs and would like to familiarize myself with the latest Mac OS. Has anyone tried installing Snow Leopard in VM Ware? Is it possible without a lot of hacking around with it?
Hi guys,
I'm wondering if it's possible to copy only images files from a directory. For example, if source directory has:
a.jpg b.gif c.png d.txt
I want to copy only image (using one command), to get this in the destination directory:
a.jpg b.gif c.png
We are using OpenNMS to monitor a pool of servers, and we have a problem with SMTP in one particular box. OpenNMS is "spamming" us all the time with DOWN/RESOLVED messages for that particular service in that server, and I wanted to mute those notifications momentarely but couldn't find how to do that. I know that I can disable ALL notifications or disable SMTP in ALL servers, but that's not what I want.
I'm used to muting a particular service in Nagios, but is it possible in OpenNMS?
Hi,
I am experimenting with LDAP. As I see it, apache uses the Unix password field to get the credentials and samba the field that is specific for samba.
I just use the LDAP server for a single server, LDAP runs in the same server. What I wanted is to use the same password for apache and samba (and mediawiki etc). Is it possible? If not, are there any alternatives?
Thanks!
I have little experience with Windows systems. Coming from a Linux background I was wondering if there is a way that I can ssh to powershell from a Linux shell?
If this is not possible, is there a key exchange like way to connect from powershell to powershell? I prefer it if I do not need to enter a password for every single server every time.
If this all sounds a bit crazy and there are better ways that windows does this, then feel free to share.
I'm considering moving from using Firefox to using Chrome. (I'm on WinXP)
Two questions:
What is the best way to achieve adblockplus-like functionality on Chrome?
Is it possible to save my session when I close the Chrome window so when I open it again I'll see the same tabs?
I use OpenOffice.org, so the various OpenDocument files are available in the New menu, but I would like to make Office document formats available there as well. Is this possible?
One commandline tool per answer :)
WalkOnLAN
This small command line utility makes
possible to switch on a computer from
a second one by sending a "Magic
Packet". Both of computers can be
located on the same LAN or on the
different LAN segments.
Anything else?
In Nautilus "list view" subfolders can be opened by clicking the "+" icon next to it. Would it possible to open all subfolders recursively in one click? I tried various combinations of ctrl/alt/shift-clicking but none seems to work.
I have been running a load balancing machine for a number of months now which has had no problems in the past. I got woken up to some downtime and I am seeing this a lot in syslog:
TCP: Possible SYN flooding on port 80. Sending cookies.
At which point Nginx takes up 100% of the cpu and doesn't come back down to normal for several minutes.
I have it running on Ubuntu currently but I also was able to replicate on Debian 6.
