    I have table similar to the following: Year | Product | Value 2006 A 10 2006 B 20 2006 C 30 2007 A 40 2007 B 50 2007 C 60 I would like a query that would return the following comparison Product | 2006 Value | 2007 Value A 10 40 B 20 50 C 30 60 What are the options to do so? Can it be done without joins? I'm working with DB2, but answers in all SQL types would be helpful.

  • [C++] Needed: A simple C++ container (stack, linked list) that is thread-safe for writing

    I am writing a multi-threaded program using OpenMP in C++. At one point my program forks into many threads, each of which need to add "jobs" to some container that keeps track of all added jobs. Each job can just be a pointer to some object. Basically, I just need the add pointers to some container from several threads at the same time. Is there a simple solution that performs well? After some googling, I found that STL containers are not thread-safe. Some stackoverflow threads address this question, but none form a consensus on a simple solution.

  • C++ class is not recognizing string data type

    I'm working on a program from my C++ textbook, and this this the first time I've really run into trouble. I just can't seem to see what is wrong here. Visual Studio is telling me Error: identifier "string" is undefined. I separated the program into three files. A header file for the class specification, a .cpp file for the class implementation and the main program file. These are the instructions from my book: Write a class named Car that has the following member variables: year. An int that holds the car's model year. make. A string that holds the make of the car. speed. An int that holds the car's current speed. In addition, the class should have the following member functions. Constructor. The constructor should accept the car's year and make as arguments and assign these values to the object's year and make member variables. The constructor should initialize the speed member variable to 0. Accessors. Appropriate accessor functions should be created to allow values to be retrieved from an object's year, make and speed member variables. There are more instructions, but they are not necessary to get this part to work.     I would like to display the contents of a DataTable, divided into several groups depending on the value of one of the columns. So, if I have a DataTable (from SQL query) with: GroupID Name Description 1 foo bar 1 one two 2 some thing I would like to place all records containing GroupID 1 in one div, all records with GroupID 2 in another div, and so on. How can I do this? I'm writing in ASP.NET 4.0, with C# codebehind.

    Q: I have the following case : set of letters (grades) A,A+,A-,B,B+,B- stored as strings in the database i wanna to order these grades logically from the small one to the big one ,, but this not what happen in real.. because these are strings the order is: A,A+,A- i wanna ASC A-,A,A+ DESC A+,A,A- i bind those grades in drop down list and i wanna these grades with this logical order in it.. is there any idea how to do something like this..

I have the following: NSPersistentStoreCoordinator NSManagedObjectContext NSManagedObjectModel Is it possible to run queries directly on the store (since its a sqlite DB)? I'm trying to delete all the records from a tableview, and figured a "DELETE FROM table" would be nice and quick as opposed to looping through the records and removing them manually (which i'm also struggling with).   • Java - Count words in two documents

    Good Morning - it is school assignment, I am not asking for any source code (if you can provide any pesudo code it would be awesome). Here is the problem :( I have to create a term frequency table. It is not pure TF, I just need to count the words and write down. I know basic steps to do it 1 - extract all terms (I can do it with file reader) 2 - remove repeating terms (I can do it with TreeMap) The output of 2nd step would be Niga, ponga, dinga, bitlo, etc. 3 - Now I have to see if there is any word in current file from above terms or not, if yes then I will count. Now this is my problem, I stucked on step 3 :( I have some idea how to count words with TreeMap (treemap.containskey etc.) but it would be global count not local count for each file :( Any pseudo code?

  • Modifying Django's pre_save/post_save Data

    Hi, I'm having a hard time to grasp this post_save/pre_save signals from django. What happens is that my model has a field called status and when a entry to this model is added/saved, it's status must be changed accordingly with some condition. My model looks like this: class Ticket(models.Model): (...) status = models.CharField(max_length=1,choices=OFFERT_STATUS, default='O') And my signal handler, configured for pre_save: def ticket_handler(sender, **kwargs): ticket = kwargs['instance'] (...) if someOtherCondition: ticket.status = 'C' Now, what happens if I put aticket.save() just bellow this last line if statement is a huge iteration black hole, since this action calls the signal itself. And this problem happens in both pre_save and post_save. Well... I guess that the capability of altering a entry before (or even after) saving it is pretty common in django's universe. So, what I'm doing wrong here? Is the Signals the wrong approach or I'm missing something else here? Also, would it be possible to, once this pre_save/post_save function is triggered, to access another model's instance and change a specific row entry on that? Thanks

    If I have a Facebook app, and my users agree to allow my app to access their information, photos, friends, etc, is it ethical to grab their information when they log in, and then saving it in memory so that the next time he goes to my app, it can load faster? If so, what about when the user logged off? Is the right thing to do to is to delete all the cached information and photos that the user provided? Has Facebook got any way to detect that we're doing this (saving their information, etc)?

    Im using c# .net windows application form. I have created many databases with many tables in each. I have a datagrid view and a display button. when i click on this button, the system must prompt me to enter the server name and after typing the server name, it should display all the databases related to that server in some combo box. and again if i select a database it should show all the tables present in that database into a combobox. and if i select a table, it should prompt an option to select only required columns into the datagridview. How can i do this?

    I have one Map that contains some names and numbers Map<String,Integer> abc = new TreeMap<String,Integer>(); It works fine. I can put some values in it but when I call it in different class it gives me wrong order. For example: I putted abc.put("a",1); abc.put("b",5); abc.put("c",3); some time it returns the order (b,a,c) and some time (a,c,b). What is wrong with it? Is there any step that I am missing when I call this map?
