    I have an asp:Image -- which I'm assigning "alt" and "tooltip" from the code behind. Unfortunately the value which is coming from the database is getting automatically html escaped -- which I do now want it to -- how do I suppress this? For example my trademark html entity is doing this -- &#174; gets changed to --> &amp;#174 -- which is incorrect Here's my code in the aspx: <asp:Image runat="server" ID="MainImage" Width="260" /> Do I have any options?     Is there any Python library that allows me to parse an HTML document similar to what jQuery does? i.e. I'd like to be able to use CSS selector syntax to grab an arbitrary set of nodes from the document, read their content/attributes, etc. The only Python HTML parsing lib I've used before was BeautifulSoup, and even though it's fine I keep thinking it would be faster to do my parsing if I had jQuery syntax available. :D Write an iterative program that finds the largest number of McNuggets that cannot be bought in exact quantity.     Is any way to handle a moment when HTML page is rendered on C# WebBrowser control? Edit. WebBrowser control has many events such as Navigated, GotFocus etc. I need to handle an event when HTML is rendered inside the control. Just wondered is it possible. For example, in asp.net we have OnRender, OnInit, OnLoad, OnPreLoad events which form web-page life-cycle. OnLoad in asp.net is something like Navigated for WebBrowser, the idea is to handle event similar to OnRender.

  • Does anyone know of a vim plugin or script to convert special characters to their corresponding HTML

    I develop websites for corporate clients, so we see the ®, ™, etc. chars a whole lot. Sometimes I paste in huge blocks of copy, which might even contain pretty quotes (“ ”) or other strange characters from word processors. So, my question is this: Does anyone know of a vim plugin or script that can, in one fell swoop, convert all these characters to html entities? I think this covers all the bases of the entities it would be nice to have: http://web.forret.com/tools/charmap.asp So, for the characters above, they would be replaced with &reg;, &trade;, &ldquo;, &rdquo;, etc. I tried the htmlspecialchars vimball (http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=2377), but no dice. It only performs its replacement like the PHP htmlsepcialchars function, replacing html-conflicting characters, and doesn't cover any additional special characters.

    I am writing a sql query creator using some parameters. While doing that ,I came across this problem. In java , Its very easy to detect the last element of an array from inside the for loop by just checking the current array position with the array length. for(int i=0; i< arr.length;i++){ boolean isLastElem = i== (arr.length -1) ? true : false; } php has some different fashion. They have non integer indexes to access arrays. So you must iterate over an array using foreach loop. But it becomes very problematic when you need to take some decision (in my case to append or/and parameter while building query). I am sure there must be some standard way of doing this. How do you solve this problem normally in php ?

  • Working with three dimensional data in an HTML (ASP.NET) table.

    I am working on the prototype for a scheduling application on an intranet system. The application is for scheduling and tracking promotional workers at various locations on various dates (hence location, date, workers dimensions). Currently, only for prototyping, I am generating a data table of location/date, and from this I iteratively build an HTML table (asp:Table control). On visiting each cell, I query for people working that location-date and populate the cell accordingly. This is very inefficiant, and will at worst be improved by querying cached data for the whole location/date grid. I'm looking around for established patterns and techniques for dealing with scenarios like this in HTML in general, maybe a visualisation library for jQuery or something, and for ASP.NET in particular, maybe a library for implementation on a GridView etc. Am I going in the right direction with this, and if so, what recomendations are there regarding the previous paragraph?

  • How should I generate HTML to represent class and its properties?

    Currently I have a class that represents a document. This document needs to be displayed as HTML. I would like to have a method to call such as GetHTML() that would then call GetHTML() on any properties/sections of the document that needed to be rendered. I was initially thinking about using linq and XElement but am wondering if that may cause issues with certain tags in HTML. Would I better off using an HtmlTextWriter? I am open to any suggestions or best practives for this situation. Thanks!

  • Can I automatically attach to the lifecycle of ANY server-enabled HTML tag?

    If a "server-enabled" HTML tag is in a Web form, like this -- <p runat="server"/> -- is there any way for me to attach to its rendering? I assume once they have runat="server", they must have a lifecycle of some kind. I'd like to attach some code to the rendering of any HTML tag so enabled. So, whenever a template author puts runat="server" on a tag, I can catch the PreRender (or anything else) and execute some code. Possible?

    Hi, I have a web page which has a form element (with its ID known) and inside the form there are multiple DIVs, and the position of each div may be changed. What I'd like to do is: a) Save the current state of this form // var currentForm=document.forms['myFrm'].innerHTML; would probably suffice... b) Save or export the entire form with the most current position of each DIV to an image file. // how to save/export the javascript var of currentForm to an image file is the key question.   • Any way to add an observer to the head of the queue using Element#observe?

    This might not be possible but before I rewrite part of my application I wanted to ask... I have a JavaScript app which creates a submit <input> and observes that input's click event using Prototype's Element#observe function. For a few particular pages on one particular site which uses this app, I need to apply some additional business logic before the code which executes normally when the button is clicked. Is there any way I can use Elemen#observe to add my new event handler before the existing event handler, so I can stop the event if these new conditions aren't met? If not I'll probably solve this the "proper" way by having the application fire a specific beforeTakingAction event and add a listener for that which prevents the application from taking it's action, but that's more complicated than this simple problem requires, and requires rewriting part of a shared application for just one user...

  • I am using jquery ajax using text() but any html written in the XML doesn't render?

    So I have Jquery Ajax working real nice, but an issue I am having is in my XML if I want to bold a work or Italicize a sentence, if I do it in the XML using HTML tags it will not show up. I am pretty sure it is due to using the .text().     I am using a jquery plugin from [ FilamentGroup ] called DateRangePicker. I have a simple form with two text inputs for the start and end date that I bind the DateRangePicker to using this $('input.tbDate').daterangepicker({ dateFormat: 'mm/dd/yy', earliestDate: new Date(minDate), latestDate: new Date(maxDate), datepickerOptions: { changeMonth: true, changeYear: true, minDate: new Date(minDate), maxDate: new Date(maxDate) } }); I have a collapsible table above this form that when shown, moves the form and the elements that the daterangepicker plugin is bound to, down lower on the page, but the daterangepicker appears to keep the position from when it was actually created. What code could I put in the daterangepicker's onShow Callback to update its position to be next to the element is was initially bound to? Or is there some specific jquery method or plugin that I could chain to the daterangepicker plugin so that it will update its position correctly. This would come in handy for some other plugins that I use that don't seem to keep their position relative to other elements correctly either.

    Hi, Let's say i have an image uploader script, i want to prevent the upload directory from executing Php or even html by only showing it as plain text, i've seen this trick in many websites but i don't know how they do it. Briefly, if i upload evil.php to that directory, and i try to access it i will only see a plain text source , No html or php is executed. ( but i still want the images to appear normally ofcourse) I know i can do like that by header("content-type:text/plain"); but that's will not be helpful, because what i want, is to set the content-type:text/plain automatically by the server for every thing outputed from the upload directory except images. Note: i'm running php 5.3.2/Cent OS and the latest cPanel. Thanks

    I have a situation where I'm wrapping an image with a span and I want to remove all the CSS from the image and apply it to the span. Is there a way to do this with JQuery? JQuery: $(img).wrap('<span />'); Style Sheet: img { border: 5px solid red; padding: 10px; … } I would like do to do this with out editing the HTML or CSS. For example adding a class to the image would not work very well in my situation. I need a way to truly remove the CSS from one element and place it on another.

Sub-question: How to detect what letter someone clicked on? Without using: A span injector breaking everything up OR a WYSIWYG plugin I'm hoping this isn't just a type of browser interaction you can't detect.   • Alternate to control+drag to connect view element with file owner in xCode interface builder?

    Working on an iPhone application through a TightVNC connection into a Mac Mini; the control+drag operation in Interface Builder to connect a view element to file owner doesn't work - I don't see the connecting line. It does work when I connect keyboard, mouse and monitor to the Mini and work on it directly, however it is a lot more convenient for me to run it through a VNC connection. Must be some quirk of the TightVNC connection that is preventing this. I tried different TightVNC settings for the cursor (let server handle it and so on) but no luck. Is there an alternative to control+drag to hook up outlets?

    I've got a site running Joomla with TinyMCE set as the editor. One of the sites editors is now trying to embed a media player into an article but TinyMCE keeps messing up the HTML. I've tried setting the Extended Valid Elements, in the plugin config, to *[*] to allow anything and everything but it's not working. What I'd like is to disable the code stripping "feature" from TinyMCE all together. I don't want it trying to validate my HTML or anything like that. How can I disable the code stripping?

    I'm not sure if I worded the title correctly. Basically is it possible to treat a string as HTML as if it was on the page? So I can use $("#elem") and all the other jQuery functions? The HTML is loaded into a string from an ajax request and stored in a string. Instead of using regular expressions to access the data needed is it possible to use jQuery functions? ajaxTextResponse.$("#telephone"); I know the above won't work, but you see what I am getting at.
