  • Getting the executed output of an aspx page after a short delay

    Hi all, I have an aspx page which has some javascript code like <script> setTimeout("document.write('" + place.address + "');",1); </script> As it is clear from the code it will going to write something on the page after a very short delay of 1 ms. I have created an another page to get the page executed by some query string and get its output.   • Good way to capture/replay sessions from Apache Log?

    For performance testing, I would like to capture some traffic from a production server and use that as a basis to replay the request to a test server in order to simulate a realistic load in our development environment. These are all stateless queries, so no issues regarding cookies, sessions, etc. The Apache log timestamps everything down to a 1 second resolution, but that's not fine enough granularity for our peak times. What's the best way to capture more fine-grained timestamps for replay? And is there some ab-like load generating program that can use this data to replicate load?

    Hi. There are a lot of chart drawing libraries out there, but what I am looking for is an interactive(!) graph (nodes and edges) drawing library. At best some kind of AJAX, but I am also open for other technologies (Java, Flash). However I would really prefer an AJAX implementation. Also only Open Source framework suggestions please (I already know about yFiles). The thing I have in mind is a bit like GWTUML. That is quite nice already, but misses an API for their graph drawing. It seems that it is an custom implementation for their product. Also some layout algorithms would be nice. Is there really no library around for that task? I wonder a bit as there are so many chart libraries available. Let me emphasize again (seems to be necessary cause of the first two comments): I am NOT looking for another chart library!     Does anyone have an example of how to handle read and write NSStream events in Monotouch when working with accessories via EASession? It looks like there isn't a strongly typed delegate for this and I'm having trouble figuring out what selectors I need to handle on the delegates of my InputStream and OutputStream and what I actually need to do with each selector in order to properly fill and empty the buffers belonging to the EASession object. Basically, I'm trying to port Apple's EADemo app to Monotouch right now.     I have successfully installed the Clearance Gem from ThoughtBot. Clearance sends a confirmation email upon a new sign_up and suggests adding: config.action_mailer.default_url_options = { :host => 'localhost:3000' } to your /environments/test.rb and development.rb. I have tried this and also config.action_mailer.default_url_options = { :host => '127.0.0.1', :port => 3000 } But can't seem to get rails to send the email. As I am new to both Ruby and Rails, I am wondering if there is some step/config that ThoughtBot is assuming I have already done to send emails. What am I doing wrong/missing?     I am using VS 2008 Team Suite and SQL Server 2008 in my development environment. I am deploying to a shared-host website with shared-host SQL Server 2005. I want to push changes from my development environment to my production host. I tried using Data | Schema Compare... and it reports to me that it does not support SQL Server 2008. What do people use for this (Besides Red-Gate tools - I use those at my day job, and they rock...this is a volunteer thing for my son's school)? I am looking for something very inexpensive if not free.

My problem is that I see the data flowing as json to the browser and I see three rows in the grid, but those rows are empty, and the data is not shown (three empty rows in the grid).   • JQuery: Push Effect?

    I'm currently using the JQuery slideDown/slideUp effect and am not accomplishing what I want. Essentially, I want to create an action where I "push" a div off the top of the browser window. Something similar to the following push effect example. How can I do this with JQuery? The problem with just using slideDown/slideUp is that the other DIV just overlaps the div I'm hiding. But instead, I want to PUSH the div I don't want visible off the top of the browser window.

    Now that the iPad craze is officially open, it's time to think websites also for the iPad. From what I gather, the iPad is using iPhone OS, but with a different screen resolution from the iPhone/iPod touch. So suddenly, the assumption that iPhone OS = iPhone screen resolution becomes false. Sounds like many sites may have to revise their user-agent - css mapping.   • @font-face fonts only work on their own domain

    I am trying to create a type of font repository for use on my websites, so that I can call to any font in the repository in my css without any other set-up. To do this I created a subdomain on which I placed folders for each font in the repository that contained the various file types for each font. I also placed a css file called font-face.css on the root of the subdomain and filled it with @font-face declarations for each of the fonts, the fonts a linked with an absolute link so that they can be used from anywhere. My issue is that it seems that I can only use the fonts on that subdomain where they are located, on my other sites the font does not show. Using firebug I determined that the font-face.css file was successfully being linked to and loaded. So why does the font not correctly load? Is there protection on the font files or something? I am using all fonts that I should be allowed to do this with, so I don't see why this is occurring. Maybe it is an apache issue, but I can download the font just fine when I link to it. Oh, and just to clarify, I am not violating any copyrights by setting this up, all the fonts I am using are licensed to allow this sort of thing. I would however like to set up a way that only I can have access to this repository of fonts but that's another project.

  • Checkbox has the wrong values

    I have a page with several checkboxes on it, along with a dropdownlist of users. The checkboxes correlate to the user's permissions so each user is different. When a different user is chosen, the check boxes should change to match that user's permissions. The codebehind is correct, I stepped through it and the checkbox.checked value is being assigned to the box with the correct value to match the user. chk.Checked = viewable; No matter what I assign to the checked property the value stays the same as the very first submittal. I tried chk.EnableViewState = false; but that did not help. I am sure it is dot net trying to be helpful (grrr). Thank you for your help. There is no databinding per se. I will be saving the values from the textboxes via xmlhttp when the user clicks on them. I never want the check boxes to fill with values other than what I give them.     Ok, I wanting to database a small library. I've only had limmited experience with databeses, and vnone with queerying a websever. I'm going to want to retrieve information like title, Publisher, maybe author, desciption the simplest way i can think of dooing this is looking them up via the isbn. I'm wondering how I should go about doing this. I've coma across isbndb.com before, but the api for accessing it seems rather complex.

    Hello all, I have this iframe and as u can see it call a js function with the onload trigger. <iframe name="top" id="top" width="99%" height="20%" src="top.htm" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" onload="log_in()"></iframe> What i need to do is to effect the element inside "top.htm" (change innerHTML and stuff like that) from that function. But the problem is that the funnction does not recognize the elements of the "top.htm" page, only the ones in index.htm (the page with the iframes). p.s. i have to use DOM and i have to use iframes. Any one knows how to do that? 10x :-)

Whilst this is working fine in most browsers I have an issue on Opera Mini where it is not rendering the sprite at all and just displaying the whole image. Is there any CSS that can be used to provide a text alternative when the browser is unable to render the sprite?
