  • Using an image as a border

    - by Tempname
I am working on an custom container and I need a border for this container. I have a 15x15 image that I am creating a 9-slice border skin with. The issue that I am having is that the border skin does not appear the way that I had hoped it would. Here is a ss of the skin in place. Ideally I should have a transparent box with a 5 pixel border around it. Here is my current testing code: CSS Code: Box { borderSkin: Embed(source="15x15.png", scaleGridLeft="5", scaleGridTop="5", scaleGridRight="10", scaleGridBottom="10"); } MXML Code: <mx:WindowedApplication xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute"> <mx:Style source="MainTest.css"/> <mx:Box id="tw" width="400" height="400"> </mx:Box> </mx:WindowedApplication>

  • Applying a pixel shader effect to a portion of an image

    - by Nick
I have a ScrollViewer that contains a very large video (16 megapixel @ 10fps) and I want to apply a pixel shader effect to it. Given the size of the images I can't apply the effect directly to the image. So I apply the effect to the ScrollContentPresenter in the control style. Which is great, everything runs nice and fast. However, I'm also rendering annotations inside of the ScrollContentPresenter which I do NOT want effects applied to (but they need to move and scale along with the image). Is there to apply the effect just to the clipped and displayed portion of the image or do I need to build a rather more complex control?

  • How can I prevent a ToggleButton from being Toggled without setting IsEnabled=False

    - by Bryan Anderson
I have a list of ToggleButtons being used as the ItemTemplate in a ListBox similar to this answer using the MultiSelect mode of the Listbox. However I need to make sure at least one item is always selected. I can get the proper behavior from the ListBox by just adding an item back into the ListBox's SelectedItems collection on the ListBox.SelectionChanged event but my ToggleButton still moves out of its toggled state so I think I need to stop it earlier in the process. I would like to do it without setting IsEnabled="False" on the last button Selected because I'd prefer to stay with the Enabled visual style without having to redo my button templates. Any ideas?

  • How can CSS stop Google Maps loading?

    - by AP257
I have a page with a Google Maps div: <div id="map_canvas" style="width: 100%; height: 332px;" ></div> If I comment out my CSS, the map loads fine: if I include the CSS, the map controls load, but the map tiles don't load: there's just a grey background. This is the case even if I put the map div just after the <body> tag, not within any styled element at all. No CSS, it loads fine. With CSS, no map. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I don't quite understand what the problem can be if no CSS styles are being applied to any element that contains the map. If more diagnostics are needed, please let me know, and I'll deploy the broken map onto a staging site, so people can look at the source.

  • Under what circumstances does Groovy use AbstractConcurrentMap?

    - by Electrons_Ahoy
(Specifically, org.codehaus.groovy.util.AbstractConcurrentMap) While doing some profiling of our application thats mixed Java/Groovy, I'm seeing a lot of references to the AbstractConcurrentMap class, none of which are explicit in the code base. Does groovy use this class when maps are instantiated in the groovy dynamic def myMap = [:] style? Are there rules somewhere about when groovy chooses to use this as opposed to, say, java.util.HashMap? And does anyone have any performance information comparing the two? My rough "eyeball check" says that AbstractConcurrentMap seems to be much slower - anyone know if I'm right?

  • Styling WPF Toolkit DataGrid Column Headers

    - by ChrisFletcher
Hi, I'm having an issue styling the WPF Datagrid, I've styled the column headers (of type ColumnHeader). But when the data in the columns does not fill the full width of the grid an additional column is added to pad out the grid. This column ignores the ColumnHeader style and looks out of place presumably because the element has a different type, I've looked through the library in object browser but I can't find this element. I've also considered fixing the sizes so this column is unnecessary but thats not a viable option. The problem is demonstrated in the following article: http://blogs.msdn.com/jaimer/archive/2009/01/20/styling-microsoft-s-wpf-datagrid.aspx The element I mean is in the top right, just to the right of green column 3 and just above the cell with the row background arrow.

  • Why does overflow:hidden not work in a <td>?

    - by mike
I've got a table cell that I would always like to be a particular width. However, it doesn't work with large strings of unspaced text. Here's a test case: <html><body> <table><tbody><tr> <td style="border: solid green 1px; width:200px; overflow:hidden;"> This_is_a_terrible_example_of_thinking_outside_the_box. </td> </tr></tbody></table> </body></html> How do I get the text to be cut off at the edge of the box, rather than having the box expanded?

    - by arinte
I have a gwt image object . • Javascript recursive data structure definition

    - by Matt Bierner
I need to define a data structure recursively in Javascript. Here is a simple example of a circular linked list: // List a very simplified example of what the actual (non list) code does. function List(f, r) { return function(){ return [f, r]; }; } var head = List('a', List('b', List('c', head))); When this is executed, head in List 'c' is resolved to undefined, not List 'a' as I need. List is an example function that returns a function (It is not an Javascript list that I can append to). I tried to wrap the definition of head is a self executing named function, but that blew the stack when head was resolved. What is the Javascript style solution that I am overlooking?

  • Nested preference screens lose theming

    - by stealthcopter
    I have a preference screen for my application and in the manifest I have given it a theme using: android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Light.WallpaperSettings" However when I nest another preference screen inside this one such as: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <PreferenceScreen xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:title="@string/setting_title" android:key="..."> <PreferenceCategory android:title="@string/title_themes" > <PreferenceScreen android:title="@string/title_themes_opt" > <ListPreference android:key="Setting_BG" android:title="@string/setting_bg" android:summary="@string/setting_bg_summary" android:entries="@array/bg_titles" android:defaultValue="0" android:entryValues="@array/bg_values" /> </PreferenceScreen> </PreferenceCategory> </PreferenceScreen> The nested preference screen loses the theme of the parent. How can this be prevented? Thanks in advance.

  • Javascript: selfmade methods not working correctly

    - by hdr
Hi everyone, I tried to figure this out for some days now, I tried to use my own object to sort of replace the global object to reduce problems with other scripts (userscripts, chrome extensions... that kind of stuff). However I can't get things to work for some reason. I tried some debugging with JSLint, the developer tools included in Google Chrome, Firebug and the integrated schript debugger in IE8 but there is no error that explains why it doesn't work at all in any browser I tried. I tried IE 8, Google Chrome 10.0.612.3 dev, Firefox 3.6.13, Safari 5.0.3 and Opera 11. So... here is the code: HTML: <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html manifest="c.manifest"> <head> <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge,chrome=1"> <meta charset="utf-8"> <!--[if IE]> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/chrome-frame/1/CFInstall.min.js"></script> <script src="https://ie7-js.googlecode.com/svn/version/2.1(beta4)/IE9.js">IE7_PNG_SUFFIX=".png";</script> <![endif]--> <!--[if lt IE 9]> <script src="js/lib/excanvas.js"></script> <script src="https://html5shiv.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/html5.js"></script> <![endif]--> <script src="js/data.js"></script> </head> <body> <div id="controls"> <button onclick="MYOBJECTis.next()">Next</button> </div> <div id="textfield"></div> <canvas id="game"></canvas> </body> </html> Javascript: var that = window, it = document, k = Math.floor; var MYOBJECTis = { aresizer: function(){ // This method looks like it doesn't work. // It should automatically resize all the div elements and the body. // JSLint: no error (execpt for "'window' is not defined." which is normal since // JSLint does nor recognize references to the global object like "window" or "self" // even if you assume a browser) // Firebug: no error // Chrome dev tools: no error // IE8: that.documentElement.clientWidth is null or not an object "use strict"; var a = that.innerWidth || that.documentElement.clientWidth, d = that.innerHeight || that.documentElement.clientHeight; (function() { for(var b = 0, c = it.getElementsByTagName("div");b < c.length;b++) { c.style.width = k(c.offsetWidth) / 100 * k(a); c.style.height = k(c.offsetHight) / 100 * k(d); } }()); (function() { var b = it.getElementsByTagName("body"); b.width = a; b.height = d; }()); }, next: function(){ // This method looks like it doesn't work. // It should change the text inside a div element // JSLint: no error (execpt for "'window' is not defined.") // Firebug: no error // Chrome dev tools: no error // IE8: no error (execpt for being painfully slow) "use strict"; var b = it.getElementById("textfield"), a = [], c; switch(c !== typeof Number){ case true: a[1] = ["HI"]; c = 0; break; case false: return Error; default: b.innerHtml = a[c]; c+=1; } } }; // auto events (function(){ "use strict"; that.onresize = MYOBJECTis.aresizer(); }()); If anyone can help me out with this I would very much appreciate it. EDIT: To answer the question what's not working I can just say that no method I showed here is working at all and I don't know the cause of the problem. I also tried to clean up some of the code that has most likely nothing to do with it. Additional information is in the comments inside the code.

  • In DOM is it OK to use .notation for getting/setting attributes?

    - by Ziggy
Hi In DOM, is it OK to refer to an element's attributes like this: var universe = document.getElementById('universe'); universe.origin = 'big_bang'; universe.creator = null; universe.style.deterministic = true; ? My deep respect for objects and their privacy, and my sense that things might go terribly wrong if I am not careful, makes me want to do everything more like this: var universe = document.getElementById('universe'); if(universe.hasAttribute('origin')) then universe.origin = 'big_bang'; etc... Is it really necessary to use those accessor methods? Of course it may be more or less necessary depending on how certain I am that the elements I am manipulating will have the attributes I expect them to, but in general do the DOM guys consider it OK to use .notation rather than getters and setters? Thanks!

  • How can I keep data that a user has entered in my jQuery/Ajax pop-up form?

    - by Lucas McCoy
    I have a form on a website I'm working (you can see it here) on that allows my users to give feedback. It's an jQuery/Ajax popup form: $('.contact_us').click(function(){ var boxy_content; boxy_content += "<div style=\"width:300px; height:300px \"><form id=\"feedbacked\">"; boxy_content += "<p>Subject<br /><input type=\"text\" name=\"subject\" id=\"subject\" size=\"33\" /></p><p>Your E-Mail Address:<br /><input type=\"text\" name=\"your_email\" size=\"33\" /></p><p>Comment:<br /><textarea name=\"comment\" id=\"comment\" cols=\"33\" rows=\"5\"></textarea></p><br /><input type=\"submit\" name=\"submit\" value=\"Send >>\" />"; boxy_content += "</form></div>"; // Other code here... Is there anyway I can save what the user has entered (in case they see our error message when they try to submit)?

  • How to get the height of a DIV considering inner element's margins?

    - by André Pena
Consider de following markup: <div id="outerElement"> <div id="innerElement" style="border: 1px solid blue; background-color: #f0f3f5; margin-top: 100px"> TESTE </div> </div> I want to get the actual final height of outerElement using javascript. I noticed that if I remove the vertical margins from innerElement I am able to get what I want but I cannot alter styles from within the outerElement. How do I do this? Obs: I already tried height, scrollheight and offsetHeight in all browsers. Chrome gives me the expected value (including inner element's margins) for scrollHeight. All other browsers fail.

  • Changing Pushpin Text Color

    - by Yawus
I'm attempting to display data through the text of a Pushpin object. However, the text color defaults to white which is nigh-invisible when the backdrop is a road-style MapView. Looking through the API, paying especially close attention to PushpinOptions, I couldn't find anything that manipulated text color. Considering that this seems to a fairly basic feature, I'm a little confused as to why it doesn't exist or at least is really hard to find. Am I missing something or does Bing Maps for Android really not let you change the default text color for a Pushpin object?

  • Json to treeview (<ul>)

    - by Pieter
Hi I get the following data back from my WCF Data Service (I cut out the metadata) { "d" : [ {"CodeId": 6, "Title": "A Child Sub Item", "Parent":}, {"CodeId": 5, "Title": "Another Root Item", "Parent": -1}, {"CodeId": 4, "Title": "Child Item", "Parent": 2}, {"CodeId": 2, "Title": "Root Item", "Parent": -1} ] } I am trying to get this into a <ul> style tree with Parent = -1 as root and then the rest as sub items of their parent id's. Can anyone help me please, preferably in jQuery? I will use this in jstree if someone knows of a better way to do this. Thanks

  • Paperclip + ImageMagick on Windows 7: Image display fails when I add styles to attached_file in mode

    - by Brian Roisentul
I'm working with Ruby on rails 2.3.8, NetBeans IDE. I've installed paperclip and I could show/save images successfully. Now, I've installed ImageMagick-6.6.2-4-Q16(for windows 7, 64bits). Until that moment, my model looked like this(and worked fine): has_attached_file :photo Now, after installing ImageMagick, when I add the :style line it fails: has_attached_file :photo, :styles => {:thumb => "100x100#", :small => "150x150>", :large => "400x400>" } and it throws the following error message when I try to upload an image: TypeError in ProfilesController#update backtrace must be Array of String The only thing I'm doing in the update action of that controller is the following: @profile.update_attributes(params[:profile]) @profile.update_attribute(:photo, params[:profile][:photo]) I've also installed miniMagick gem(because I read somewhere I had to do it). What am I missing?
