• Stop VBA Evaluate from calling target function twice

  I am having trouble getting VBA's Evaluate() function to only execute once; it seems to always run twice. For instance, consider the trivial example below. If we run the RunEval() subroutine, it will call the EvalTest() function twice. This can be seen by the two different random numbers that get printed in the immediate window. The behavior would be the same if we were calling another subroutine with Evaluate instead of a function. Can someone explain how I can get Evaluate to execute the target function once instead of twice? Thank you. • where is the best place to place a javascript snippet to alter the DOM of a page before it renders

  I have a few dynamic pages and I want to alter certain elements before the page has fully rendered. My snippet is something like document.body.getElementById("change").innerHTML = "<img src..."; I do not have access to change the content server side. Where is the best place to put the snippet to have the code run before the page it has rendered? Rather, is putting the javascript in either the HEAD (inside the window.onload event?) or before the closing BODY(not inside an event listener) optimal?

In this Form, I placed an OK button and I went into the properties of the button and set the DialogResult to OK. Now, I am calling this Dialog (Window Form) from the MainWindow.xaml.cs: dres = form.ShowDialog(); if (dres != DialogResult.OK) return; The compiler is complaining: Error 3 'System.Nullable<bool>' does not contain a definition for 'OK' and no extension method 'OK' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Nullable<bool>' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

  I am trying to programmatically fire a key event to go left in a text box, but not having any luck. The input element has focus and the cursor is at the end. I'm trying to get the cursor to move left one step - before the letter "F". • A code using SharePoint classes doesn't run on systems not having SharePoint installed

  I have a window application which uses SP classes to create a site. I works fine on a system having Windows Server 2003 R2 with sharepoint installed. But it doesn't work on a system having XP installed and SharePoint not installed. The fact is that both of these systems are on a intranet. So I assumed that the NON-SP system would be able to run the code and create a site on the system having SP installed if all the required parameters (like serverLocation, domain, username, password) are provided. I did copied the DLLs to these NON-SP system and referenced them to build the project: Microsoft.SharePoint.dll microsoft.sharepoint.portal.dll Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.dll But this too didn't worked. What am I missing? Is my assumption wrong?

• can i change the black background of an iphone app?

  My app is structured like this, a single MainWindow with window backgroundColor to white(which doesn't appear anywhere anyway), and in this nib i have a UINavigationController which doesn't seems to have a backgroundColor. Any view controller is added from code and made from code and they have a gray background. What happens is that when i rotate the iphone and the views are rotating as well, i see a black background under my views. Can this be changed? It looks ugly especially if i have a photo that is rotating in the same time with my gray background.

  Hi, I'm looking for a way to display a message to the user if he leaves my site after only viewing one page. I'm no javascript master :) My intention is to add the code on very specific landing pages only, and display the message when people leave the page without downloading my trial software or reading other pages on my site.

• .net Studio Local Database

  Hello everyone, i am designing a local database in .net with wpf as gui. I have added a new database, and added a new table. Through the TableAdapter i generated 2 statements ( 1 statement is a select stmt and 1 is a insert) , i insert name and firstname (id is auto generated).   I have a small chunk of coding I need to take from ereg to preg_match. Here is the code. function be_file_list($d, $x) { foreach (array_diff(scandir($d), array('.', '..')) as $f) { if (is_file($d . '/' . $f) && (($x) ? ereg($x.'$',$f) : 1)) { $l[] = $f; } } return $l; } This code works as expected even if it doesn't look too pretty (source: http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.scandir.php) but as ereg is deprecated, I would really like to make it preg_match, or something like that. I have been messing with this all afternoon and the PC is about to go out the window. I would have thought that preg_match("/"$x.'$',$f"/") would have worked but no dice. Any help would be great. Hoping once I fix this I can work out a way to get the info window displaying if I hover over the div in the html.

• Editing a Gridview row with drop-down lists gets too wide - how can I use popup panels instead?

  I have a series of GridViews in a Tab Panel - databound to a generic List of Business Objects. The columns in the Gridview are all similar to the following: <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Company" SortExpression="Company.ShortName"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:Label ID="lblCompany" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("Company.ShortName") %>'></asp:Label> </ItemTemplate> <EditItemTemplate> <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlCompany" runat="server"></asp:DropDownList> </EditItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> The GridView generates the "Edit" link at the beginning of the row, all the events fire ok. The problem is that the data is getting long. When in 'display mode', it's fine because the GridView control is smart enough to break some text into multiple lines (in particular Project, Title and Worker names can get pretty long). The problem come in editing mode. Drop-down lists DON'T break entries into multiple lines (for obvious reasons). Going into Edit ode on a row in the Gridview can make the Griview expand horizontally to twice the screen size (blowing through the width limits in the Master page and CSS but that's only a related problem). What I need is something like the ModalPopup - but trying to tie it to an ID in an EditItemTemplate gives me errors when the page renders (because the 'ddlXXXX' doesn't exist at the time). In addition I don't know how to dynamically populate the panel so that I can get a response from it (like the ID of the Company they selected). I'm also trying to avoid javascript and would like this to be a 'pure' aspx/code-behind solution (for simplicity's sake among others). All the examples I find are of Modal Popups with the panels pre-defined. Even if it (the popup panel) were something like a list of checkboxes, it could be databound to the SortedList I have ready to go and an OK/Cancel button combination to accept or ignore things. I'm just not sure of what goes where. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance.   In my installer (created using IzPack) i am using HTMLInfoPanel, in the HTML data for this info panel I have a website link and an email address. The problem is 1) When I click on the website link, the page is opened in the Installer panel itself, instead of open the page in the default browse window. 2) When I click on the email link, the page in the panel just refreshes and does nothing instead of opening the mail client for the user. Following is HTML for the link: <a href="http://www.XYZ.com/" target="_blank">XYZ, Ltd.</a> HTML for the eMail link: <A HREF="mailto:[email protected]" target="_blank">[email protected]</A> I couldn't find any help fixing this in the IzPack documentation other forums. Can somebody help solve this? I am using IzPack V 4.1

• How do I redirect output from the Visual Studio debugger?

  In Visual Studio 2008, I can specify a message to be printed when a breakpoint is hit (by right-clicking the breakpoint and choosing 'When Hit...'). When the program is run, these messages appear in the Output Window. I would like to know, is there any way to redirect them to a file? Specifying file.txt as a command argument to the program does not work: this redirects the program's output, but not the debugger's. (FWIW the behaviour I wish to achieve is to get the debugger to repeatedly print a variable's value to a file, rather than peppering my code with printf/cout statements.)

• Silverlight Scrollable Content Problem

  I am fairy new to Silverlight and I have a problem. I have a grid on a page that is resizable when the user resizes their browser window. In one of the grids columns I want to display dynamically added content that is scrollable, as there is more data than space available. I currently have a scrollViewer with a stack panel inside it, that i programmatically add a user control to and then several user controls to that control depending on the amount of content. My problem is this. The scrollViewer does not respect the available space and as such displays its content outside of the viewable area when there is more data than space. i.e. it does not uses it is not scrollable nature. Hopefully this is something simple that I have missed, but i am banging my head against the wall at the moment. Any help gratefully received.

• "Genie" animation effect in XAML

  What would the XAML look like to create a Genie animation effect? Take an object of any size/shape, and "Genie" it to another Minimized location. Kind of like the OSX window minimize. Maybe even a little fancier through a smoke-like effect where the path is more switch back, instead of a simple funnel (if that makes any sense). I'm guessing that there is some sort of Path that could be drawn, and the shape could move and transform along that path. Just a wild guess. Thanks for your ideas.

• How to make a table, which is wider than screen size, scrollable?

  I've a table with 2 columns and each column is 800px wide. I want to show this table in 800x50 window. So there should be horizontal and vertical scrollbar to view complete table. While I've found few related solutions (this and this) on SO, they only work if table width is smaller than screen size. In my case screen size is 1200px and total table width is 1600px. How could I do this? i want to achieve something like this.

  I just study window programming with awt. I see through several codes but I can not get concepts of JFrame, JLabel and ContentPane. I think JFrame only make outer Frame. ContentPane is container that contain JLabel that has contents(text, button, radio etc...). I don't know this is correct T.T Why I ask this is I failed combine the contents. I can not make TextField and InternalFrame at a time. I want to know the concept. I hope you take my question right.

• Problem with datagridvieew in vb.net

  I'm trying to add a datagridview in vb.net, but it does not allow me to change the connection string or the database that should be imported to connect to it. The only thing that I'm seeing is the previous ms sql database that I connected with datagridview and everytime I click the new connection, the window closes and it leaves me with the datagridview with the previous connection that I have. And its not applicable because, now I want to connect it with mysql. Not ms sql. Its some sort of a cache like feature in vb.net, how do I get rid of it. so that I can add the new connection for mysql? Do I need to reinstall visual studio 2008?

• Launching desired version of XCode from Finder

  My google-fu has failed me, and I guess this may be basic OS X/Xcode knowledge but.... When I double click .xcodeproj files, I'm getting the Beta I have installed launching instead of the stable release - which is the one I actually want. I have tried changing the launch program in the finder info window, but it always displays as "Xcode" and doesn't seem to accept that there are different versions - even though it offers them to me in the drop down list. Is there an xcode setting for this? Thanks.

• Is there a non-blocking version of MessageBox.Show (or something like it)?

  Often you just want to notify the user that something has occurred, but there's really no need for any input from them. In this common scenario, I sometimes see code like this: MessageBox.Show("Something has occurred", "Something", MessageBoxButtons.OK); This code, as we all know, causes a little pop-up window to appear with only an OK button. Now here's the thing: this code blocks (the UI thread). But in the vast majority of cases, it seems to me, if you only have an OK button, there's very little need to block. (Isn't the purpose of blocking typically to receive some input from the user? And if the user's only choice is "OK," in this typical case, isn't blocking pretty pointless?) Obviously I could just write my own little form that does basically exactly what MessageBox.Show does, except that it returns nothing (no DialogResult) and doesn't block. But I was just wondering if something like this exists already that I didn't know about.
