  • I have created a PHP script and I am lacking to extract the primary key, I have given flow below, pl

    - by Parth
    I am using MySQL DB, working for Joomla, My requirement is tracking the activity like insert/update/delete on any table and store it in another audit table using triggers, i.e. I am doing Auditing. DB's table structure: Few tables dont have any PK nor auto increment key Flow of my script is : I fetch out all table from DB. I check whether the table have any trigger or not. If yes then it moves to check nfor next table and so on. If it does'nt find any trigger then it creates the triggers for the table, such that, -it first checks if the table has any primary key or not(for inserting in Tracking audit table for every change made) if it has the primary key then it uses it further in creation of trigger. if it doesnt find any PK then it proceeds further in creating the trigger without inserting any id in audit table Now here, My problem is I need the PK every time so that I can record the id of any particular table in which the insert/update/delete is performed, so that further i can use this audit track table to replicate in production DB.. Now as I haave mentioned earlier that I am not available with PK/auto-incremented in some table, then what should I do get the particular id in which change is done? please guide me...GEEKS!!!

  • How can I save a directory tree to an array in PHP?

    - by Greg
    I'm trying to take a directory with the structure: top folder1 file1 folder2 file1 file2 And save it into an array like: array ( 'folder1' => array('file1'), 'folder2' => array('file1', 'file2') ) This way, I can easily resuse the tree throughout my site. I've been playing around with this code but it's still not doing what I want: private function get_tree() { $uploads = __RELPATH__ . DS . 'public' . DS . 'uploads'; $iterator = new RecursiveIteratorIterator(new RecursiveDirectoryIterator($uploads), RecursiveIteratorIterator::SELF_FIRST); $output = array(); foreach($iterator as $file) { $relativePath = str_replace($uploads . DS, '', $file); if ($file->isDir()) { if (!in_array($relativePath, $output)) $output[$relativePath] = array(); } } return $output; }

  • Passing an array of data to a private function in CodeIgniter/PHP? [facepalm]

    - by Jack Webb-Heller
    So I thought this should be easy, but, I'm n00bing out here and failing epicly (as they say on teh interwebz). So here's my code: function xy() { $array['var1'] = x; $array['var2'] = y; echo $this->_z; } function _z($array) { $xy = $x.$y; return $xy; } So, why doesn't that seemingly simple code work? I know with views you can pass arrays and the variables are accessible in the views with just their array title, but, why doesn't it work in this case? Jack

  • PHP/MySQL - Special characters in URLs. How to avoid?

    - by RC
    Hey everyone, My database contains information extracted from an external feed. In this raw text feed, the following text is used in place of special characters: & - &amp; ' - &39; é - &eacute; I extract some of this text to form URLs. For example, a URL that I construct from data containing these characters might look like this: http://url.com/search/?brand=Franklin&Hédgson's I use the GET variables in this URL to construct further lookups, which leads to a couple of specific problems: The é and ' characters are sent back to MySQL as they appear, and so they don't trigger any results (because the characters take the full HTML form in the database text). The & within the URL separates the variable, and the GET returns only Franklin, when it should return the whole string. Are there any straightforward ways of dealing with this? Thanks.

  • What's the fastest way to scrape a lot of pages in php?

    - by Yegor
    I have a data aggregator that relies on scraping several sites, and indexing their information in a way that is searchable to the user. I need to be able to scrape a vast number of pages, daily, and I have ran into problems using simple curl requests, that are fairly slow when executed in rapid sequence for a long time (the scraper runs 24/7 basically). Running a multi curl request in a simple while loop is fairly slow. I speeded it up by doing individual curl requests in a background process, which works faster, but sooner or later the slower requests start piling up, which ends up crashing the server. Are there more efficient ways of scraping data? perhaps command line curl?

  • How to define a owner, group and others through PHP?

    - by Starx
    Whenever we use chmod, we set different authorities to different users types like owner, group, others, all What I dont know is, how do define who is owner, who is group and who are others. Can we use this while implementing login system? What I mean is, by verifying a username, I want to define if the logged in user is owner, a group or others so that I can deny access to file or folder. May be my title does not reflect the question, if someone with rep power finds a better title, please edit it?

  • How to name uploaded files in php to prevent them from being overwritten?

    - by user156814
    I'm trying to add user submitted articles to my website, (only for admins). With each article comes an option to upload up to 3 images. My database is set up like this Articles id user_id title body date_added last_edited Photos id (auto_increment) article_id First I save the article in the database, then I upload the photo (temporarily) then I create a new photo record in the database saving the article_id. Then I rename the uploaded photo to be the same as the primary key of the photo record, and to be a png. $filename = $photo->id . '.png'; I figured this would be a good way to prevent files form being overwritten. This seems flawed to me. Any suggestions on how I should save my records and photos? Thanks

  • How can i pass a single additional argument to array_map callback in PHP?

    - by Gremo
    How can i pass a single additional argument to array_map callback? In my example i'd like to pass $smsPattern (as a second argument, after current element in $featureNames) to the function array_map with $getLimit closure: $features = $usage->getSubscription()->getUser()->getRoles(); // SMS regular expression in the form of ROLE_SEND_SMS_X $smsPattern = '/^ROLE_SEND_SMS_(?P<l>\d+)$/i'; // Function to get roles names and X from a role name $getNames = function($r) { return trim($r->getRole()); }; $getLimit = function($name, $pattern) { if(preg_match($pattern, $name, $m)) return $m['l']; }; // Get roles names and their limits ignoring null values with array_filter $featuresNames = array_map($getNames, $features); $smsLimits = array_filter(array_map($getLimit, $featureNames, $smsPattern)); With this code i'm getting a weird warning: Warning: array_map() [function.array-map]: Argument #3 should be an array. Of course di reason is for reusing $getLimit closure with another regular expression like $smsPattern. Thanks.

  • PHP: How do I rename a directory where the parent directory is variable?

    - by gsquare567
    i would like to move the files inside uploads/pension/#SOME_VARIABLE_NUMBER#/#SOME_CONSTANT_NUMBER#/ here is my code: // move pension statements // located at uploads/pension/%COMPANY_ID%/%USER_ID%/%HASH% // so just move the %USER_ID% folder to the new company $oldPensionDir = "uploads/pension/" . $demo_user[Users::companyID] . "/" . $demo_user[Users::userID] . "/"; $newPensionDir = "uploads/pension/" . $newCompanyID . "/" . $demo_user[Users::userID] . "/"; // see if the user had any files, and if so, move them if(file_exists($oldPensionDir)) { // if it doesnt exist, make it if(!file_exists($newPensionDir)) mkdir($newPensionDir); // move the folder rename($oldPensionDir, $newPensionDir); } however... when i need to make the directory with the "mkdir" function, i get: mkdir() [<a href='function.mkdir'>function.mkdir</a>]: No such file or directory ok, maybe the mkdir won't work, but what about the rename? perhaps that will make the directory if it's not there... nope! rename(uploads/pension/1001/783/,uploads/pension/1000/783/) [<a href='function.rename'>function.rename</a>]: The system cannot find the path specified. (code: 3) so, there are two errors. i'm pretty sure if the renaming works, i won't even need the mkdir, but who knows... can anyone tell me why these are errors and how to fix them? thanks!

  • PHP: best practice. Do i save html tags in DB or store the html entity value?

    - by Matt
    Hi Guys, I was wondering about which way i should do the following. I am using the tiny MCE wysiwyg editor which formats the users data with the right html tags. Now, i need to save this data entered into the editor into a database table. Should i encode the html tags to their corresponding entities when inserting into the DB, then when i get the data back from the table, not have the encode it for XSS purposes but i'd still have to use eval for the html tags to format the text. OR Do i save the html tags into the database, then when i get the data back from the database encode the html tags to their entities, but then as the tags will appear to the user, i'd have to use the eval function to actually format the data as it was entered. My thoughts are with the first option, i just wondered on what you guys thought. Thanks M

  • passing string to a AJAX/JSON function

    - by Mikey1980
    I’m having trouble getting a AJAX/JSON function to work correctly. I had this function grabbing value from a drop down box but now I want to use an anchor tag to set it's value. I thought it would be easy to just use the onClick event to pass string to the function I was using for the drop down box but it doesn’t do anything. I’m stumped! Here how I set it up: 1st I add an onClick event… <a href="<?php echo Settings::get('app.webroot'); ?>?view=schedule&action=questions" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore();" onmouseover="MM_swapImage('bre','','template/images/schedule/bre_f2.gif',1) onclick="assignCallType('testing')";> 2nd I check main.js.php function assignCallType(type) { alert(type); //just for debugging new Request.JSON({ url: "ajax.php", onSuccess: function(rtndata,txt){ if (rtndata['STATUS'] != 'OK') alert('Error assigning call type to call'); }, onFailure: function (xhr) { alert('Error assigning call type to call'); } }).get({ 'action': 'assignCallType', 'call_type': type }); } 3rd Ajax.php: the variable is back in PHP and values don’t get added to the db, but I also didn’t get the alert from main.js.php if ($_GET['action'] == "assignCallType") { if ($USER->isInsideSales()) { $call_type = $_GET['call_type']; $_SESSION['callinfo']->setCallType($call_type); $_SESSION['callinfo']->save($callid); echo json_encode(array('STATUS'=>'OK')); } else { echo json_encode(array('STATUS'=>'DENIED')); } } Any idea where I am going wrong. The only difference between this and the working drop down is how the function was called, I used onchange="assignCallType(this.value)".
