How long can this take to retrieve the information? In this case the GPS might be disabled, how can I enable/disable it again. Which permissions must be granted in the andorid manifest?   • What's the best way to mix Ruby and other languages? (Especially C++)

    Hi, I'm learning Ruby, and I'm starting to play with building extensions in C. I have Programming Ruby The Pragmatic Programmers' Guide and so I can follow that for the basic nuts and bolts. What I was wondering is if there already existed some nifty frameworks/whatever to help interoperability between Ruby and other languages, with C++ being the most important for me.   • simple toggle problem

    I'm just programming a little function that toggles a content by fading it in and out. this.advancedSearch = function(fieldset, triggerBtn){ fieldset.hide() triggerBtn.click(function(){ fieldset.toggle(function(){ $(this).stop(false, true).fadeIn(300) }, function(){ $(this).stop(false, true).fadeIn(300) }) }) } if just I use toggle() it works, but when i insert the two functions nothing happens and no error is thrown. Is there something i have done wrong?

    I am looking for a solution to create a "virtual" webcam device under OS X (that acts just as a normal hardware webcam, but the application has full control over what to output). I want a book that I can either use as a quick but in-depth (decent write up, not a pocket reference guide) reference to common functions (JOINS, string manipulation, Regular Expressions, etc) while also providing a detailed inner workings explanation on the system itself.

    I know that on MacOSX / PosiX systems, there is atomic-compare-and-swap for C/C++ code via g++. However, I don't need the compare -- I just want to atomically swap two values. Is there an atomic swap operation available? [Everythign I can find is atomic_compare_and_swap ... and I just want to do the swap, without comparing]. Thanks!
