  • Running Hadoop example in psuedo-distributed mode on vm

    - by manas
I have set-up Hadoop on a OpenSuse 11.2 VM using Virtualbox.I have made the prerequisite configs. I ran this example in the Standalone mode successfully. But in psuedo-distributed mode I get the following error: $./bin/hadoop fs -put conf input 10/04/13 15:56:25 INFO hdfs.DFSClient: Exception in createBlockOutputStream java.net.SocketException: Protocol not available 10/04/13 15:56:25 INFO hdfs.DFSClient: Abandoning block blk_-8490915989783733314_1003 10/04/13 15:56:31 INFO hdfs.DFSClient: Exception in createBlockOutputStream java.net.SocketException: Protocol not available 10/04/13 15:56:31 INFO hdfs.DFSClient: Abandoning block blk_-1740343312313498323_1003 10/04/13 15:56:37 INFO hdfs.DFSClient: Exception in createBlockOutputStream java.net.SocketException: Protocol not available 10/04/13 15:56:37 INFO hdfs.DFSClient: Abandoning block blk_-3566235190507929459_1003 10/04/13 15:56:43 INFO hdfs.DFSClient: Exception in createBlockOutputStream java.net.SocketException: Protocol not available 10/04/13 15:56:43 INFO hdfs.DFSClient: Abandoning block blk_-1746222418910980888_1003 10/04/13 15:56:49 WARN hdfs.DFSClient: DataStreamer Exception: java.io.IOException: Unable to create new block. at org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.DFSClient$DFSOutputStream.nextBlockOutputStream(DFSClient.java:2845) at org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.DFSClient$DFSOutputStream.access$2000(DFSClient.java:2102) at org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.DFSClient$DFSOutputStream$DataStreamer.run(DFSClient.java:2288) 10/04/13 15:56:49 WARN hdfs.DFSClient: Error Recovery for block blk_-1746222418910980888_1003 bad datanode[0] nodes == null 10/04/13 15:56:49 WARN hdfs.DFSClient: Could not get block locations. • phpThumb cannot find ImageMagick / Imagick

    - by fistameeny
Hi, I'm having a problem with phpThumb. It says in the documentation that to get the best out of it, use ImageMagick / Imagick. I've got this installed on the Server (running Centos 5.1), and can run convert --version and get the right info back. I can also run which convert which returns /usr/bin/convert However, phpThumb can't location the convert program - the demo's show that: (requires ImageMagick, this server is running "n/a" so it will not work) Does anyone have any pointers on how to fix this? Cheers, Matt

  • Sending email from an web2py on GAE

    - by Steve
I am trying to send a mail from my web2py app hosted on GoogleAppEngine. But it is not working. I used the mail function that was given with the web2py. Does anybody how to do this? I read in the GAE Documentation that python mail library would not work with GAE and GAE mail library has to be used. Does it also applies to web2py mail? Thanks

  • Attribute References in Python

    - by Jeune
I do Java programming and recently started learning Python via the official documentation. I see that we can dynamically add data attributes to an instance object unlike in Java: class House: pass my_house = House() my_house.number = 40 my_house.rooms = 8 my_house.garden = 1 My question is, in what situations is this feature used? What are the advantages and disadvantages compared to the way it is done in Java?

  • Yahoo Pipes: filter items in a feed based on words in a text file

    - by pufferfish
I have a pipe that filters an RSS feed and removes any item that contains "stopwords" that I've chosen. Currently I've manually created a filter for each stopword in the pipe editor, but the more logical way is to read these from a file. I've figured out how to read the stopwords out of the text file, but how do I apply the filter operator to the feed, once for every stopword? The documentation states explicitly that operators can't be applied within the loop construct, but hopefully I'm missing something here.

  • Find first item inside angular brackets after occurrence of other item, using RegEx, in C#

    - by Mihaela
I have an xml-like text, in which I would like to find the item that occurs in the first occurrence of a certain pattern: typically: ... <PropertyGroup><name>true</name></PropertyGroup><PropertyGroup>.... .... Could also be ... <PropertyGroup> <name> true</name> </PropertyGroup> ... <PropertyGroup> ... In the above, I need to extract the "name". My initial assumption was that all occurrences were to be in one line, and I wrote my code using string properties, but it is very difficult o take in consideration every possibility, and only RegEx can save me. I just don't know how to write it... I Have started with something like this: Regex regex = new Regex("(?<=<PropertyGroup>#)<+"); Match matches = regex.Matches(Text)[0]; MessageBox.Show(matches.ToString()); I think this finds the first item after a <PropertyGroup>, but I don't know how to make it get the item within the angular brackets... (which may be after one or more newlines, and/or spaces). I know that there are utilities for parsing xml, but I am looking for something simple to insert in a c# program Can someone please help me ? Thank you very much.

  • NSXMLParser & memory leaks

    - by HBR
Hi, I am parsing an XML file using a custom class that instanciates & uses NSXMLParser. On the first call everything is fine but on the second, third and later calls Instruments show tens of memory leaks on certain lines inside didEndElement, didEndElement and foundCharacters functions. I googled it and found some people having this issue, but I didn't find anything that could really help me. My Parser class looks like this : Parser.h @interface XMLParser : NSObject { NSMutableArray *data; NSMutableString *currentValue; NSArray *xml; NSMutableArray *videos; NSMutableArray *photos; NSXMLParser *parser; NSURLConnection *feedConnection; NSMutableData *downloadedData; Content *content; Video *video; BOOL nowPhoto; BOOL nowVideo; BOOL finished; BOOL webTV; } -(void)parseXML:(NSURL*)xmlURL; -(int)getCount; [feed release]; // Parse feed NSString *url = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"MyXMLURL"]; [[self rssParser] parseXML:[NSURL URLWithString:url]]; Now the problem is that after the first (which has zero leaks), instruments shows leaks in too many parts like this one (they are too much to enumerate them all, but all the calls look the same, I made the leaking line bold) : in didEndElement : if ([elementName isEqualToString:@"link"]) { // THIS LINE IS LEAKING => INSTRUMENTS SAYS IT IS A NSCFString LEAK [self content] setUrl:[NSURL URLWithString:cleanValue]]; [[self content] setLink: cleanValue]; } Any idea how to fix this pealse ? Could this be the same problem as the one mentioned (as an apple bug) by Lee Amtrong here :http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1598928/nsxmlparser-leaking

  • Custom title with image

    - by Alex Volovoy
Hi all, i'm creating custom title for activity by disabling standard one and managing everything myself. I wonder if it's possible to replace/theme standart title to my needs. I can customize size, background image, and text via themes by changing windowXYZStyle items. The only thing i couldn't find - how i can add image instead of text. I've tried requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_CUSTOM_TITLE) and assign custom layout - but it doesn't seems to work. EDIT : Here is a report of testing suggestions, code is below - result - image view is not showing up. Activity public class SettingsActivity extends PreferenceActivity { @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_CUSTOM_TITLE); getWindow().setFeatureInt(Window.FEATURE_CUSTOM_TITLE, R.layout.custom_title); super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); addPreferencesFromResource(R.xml.settings); } } XML : <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/title" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="26dip" android:paddingLeft="5dip" android:background="@drawable/titlebar_bg" android:layout_gravity="left|center" > <ImageView android:id="@+id/logo" android:src="@drawable/title_logo" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" /> </LinearLayout>

  • Steps in creating a web service using Axis2 - The client code

    - by zengr
I am trying to create a web service, my tools of trade are: ** Axis2, Eclipse, Tomcat, Ant ** I need to create a web service from Code, i.e. Write a basic java class which will have the methods to be declared in the WSDL. Then use java2WSDL.sh to create my WSDL. So, is this approach correct: Write my Java class with actual business logic package packageNamel; public class Hello{ public void World(String name) { SOP("Hello" + name); } } Now, when I pass this Hello.java to java2WSDL.sh, this will give me the WSDL. Finally, I will write the services.xml file, and create the Hello.aar with following dir structure: Hello.aar packageName Hello.class META-INF services.xml MANIFEST.MF Hello.WSDL Now, I assume, my service will be deployed when I put the aar in tomcat1/webapps/axis2/WEB-INF/services But, here comes my problem, HOW DO I ACCESS THE METHOD World(String name)???!!, i.e. I am clueless about the client code! Please enlighten me on making a very basic web service and calling the method. The above described 3 steps might be wrong. It's a community wiki, feel free to edit. Thanks

  • agility of asp.net MVC

    - by Hellnar
Hello I am wondering how agile (fast to develop yet stable) asp.net MVC compared to frameworks using dynamic languages such as Django or Ruby on Rails. I will be happy if you share you experiance in the name of development speed (assuming each language/framework is known at a similar level) Things I love about Django Fast model design thanks to ORM Good template system Not too hard to deploy Easy to extend Lots of free apps to plugin and great documentation Thanks

  • DirectShow: Video-Preview and Image (with working code)

    - by xsl
Questions / Issues If someone can recommend me a good free hosting site I can provide the whole project file. As mentioned in the text below the TakePicture() method is not working properly on the HTC HD 2 device. It would be nice if someone could look at the code below and tell me if it is right or wrong what I'm doing. Introduction I recently asked a question about displaying a video preview, taking camera image and rotating a video stream with DirectShow. The tricky thing about the topic is, that it's very hard to find good examples and the documentation and the framework itself is very hard to understand for someone who is new to windows programming and C++ in general. Nevertheless I managed to create a class that implements most of this features and probably works with most mobile devices. Probably because the DirectShow implementation depends a lot on the device itself. I could only test it with the HTC HD and HTC HD2, which are known as quite incompatible. HTC HD Working: Video preview, writing photo to file Not working: Set video resolution (CRASH), set photo resolution (LOW quality) HTC HD 2 Working: Set video resolution, set photo resolution Problematic: Video Preview rotated Not working: Writing photo to file To make it easier for others by providing a working example, I decided to share everything I have got so far below. I removed all of the error handling for the sake of simplicity. As far as documentation goes, I can recommend you to read the MSDN documentation, after that the code below is pretty straight forward. void Camera::Init() { CreateComObjects(); _captureGraphBuilder->SetFiltergraph(_filterGraph); InitializeVideoFilter(); InitializeStillImageFilter(); } Dipslay a video preview (working with any tested handheld): void Camera::DisplayVideoPreview(HWND windowHandle) { IVideoWindow *_vidWin; _filterGraph->QueryInterface(IID_IMediaControl,(void **) &_mediaControl); _filterGraph->QueryInterface(IID_IVideoWindow, (void **) &_vidWin); _videoCaptureFilter->QueryInterface(IID_IAMVideoControl, (void**) &_videoControl); _captureGraphBuilder->RenderStream(&PIN_CATEGORY_PREVIEW, &MEDIATYPE_Video, _videoCaptureFilter, NULL, NULL); CRect rect; long width, height; GetClientRect(windowHandle, &rect); _vidWin->put_Owner((OAHWND)windowHandle); _vidWin->put_WindowStyle(WS_CHILD | WS_CLIPSIBLINGS); _vidWin->get_Width(&width); _vidWin->get_Height(&height); height = rect.Height(); _vidWin->put_Height(height); _vidWin->put_Width(rect.Width()); _vidWin->SetWindowPosition(0,0, rect.Width(), height); _mediaControl->Run(); } HTC HD2: If set SetPhotoResolution() is called FindPin will return E_FAIL. • CustomRenderer for AutoComplete using google closure library

    - by Paul
I'm looking to use one of the AutoComplete subclasses(Rich,Remote,RichRemote) and I'd like to use a CustomRenderer, however I don't see instructions for this and reading the documentation/source it appears that the Remote subclass is instantiated with a renderer of "var renderer = new goog.ui.AutoComplete.Renderer();" leaving me no option to change it while instantiating. Is there a setRenderer method on the AutoComplete base class similar to that on the goog.ui.Controls classes? Thanks, Paul

  • Usb Driver on 64bit Windows

    - by SurDin
I have a pretty generic 64bit driver based on bulkusb.sys in WDK. It's been working for years with an embedded program, but now it is needed to work on Vista 64. From all the documentation I've tried to look through there doesn't seem to be anything affecting it, except compiling it for the 64bit environment, and yet when I compile it with the AMD64 build environment, I get "driver not intended for this platform" error message when it's trying to open the sys. What could be the solution for this?

  • Identifier for win64 configuration in Qmake

    - by Tuminoid
Is there a "win64" identifier in Qmake project files? Qt Qmake advanced documentation does not mention other than unix / macx / win32. So far I've tried using: win32:message("using win32") win64:message("using win64") amd64:message("using amd64") The result is always "using win32". Must I use a separate project-file for x32 and x64 projects, so they would compile against correct libraries? Is there any other way to identify between 32-bit and 64-bit environments?
