• Integer variable is acquiring a string value of "ad" somewhere along the line, can anyone see where?

  Here is my code: I should get output of the department id (did) as an integer and the templatefilename (result) that is required. The errors I get are: Conversion from string "ad" to type 'Integer' is not valid. I'm fairly new to asp.net and cannot see where the did variable picks up the "ad" string. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  Hi all, I know it's a silly question but , My client asked for encrypting some information form their payment system to prevent user stealing personal information. The system is web-base and written by ASP.NET We have tried some annoying solution such as JavaScript no right-click or css-no-print but apparently my client didn't like it. so are there any commercial solution to encrypt information in aspx produced html pages? or someone can tell me how to pursuit my client to stop these "prevent stealing" idea in a web-base system?

In this login i call the loogout() client side from hyperlink: Sys.Services.AuthenticationService.logout(null,onLogoutCompleted,null,null); return false; My Webservice make : [WebMethod] public void Logout() { FormsAuthentication.SignOut(); } logout work but my page make one big postback. Some way to make NO postback at logout? Thanks

• Folders without Namespaces C#, .Net, VS 2008

  I'm working on an ASP.NET webapp using the MVP pattern, and as I'm organizing my files I'm wondering - are there conventions on folders within projects and how they relate to namespaces? I have a bunch of controls and a bunch of pages, and I was going to throw them into Controls and Pages folders with subfolders, but I didn't know if it was bad form to do this if I wasn't also going to seperate them out into namespaces. • Ajax Control Toolkit not working on IE8

  hi, I am using Ajax Control Toolkit version 40412 in my asp.net 4.0 website. When I run the page in Firefox it is working good but I run the page in IE8 it is not rendering toolkit controls and putting "//" characters on the bottom of page.This is happening with every control of toolkit. What can be the problem with this, any ideas?

• Appdomain recycle settings on mod_mono & Apache

  How does one control the application recycle settings for an ASP.NET application runnin on mod_mono & Apache ? On IIS6 & 7 there was an option to specify either a time period, a number of requests, etc. when the AppDomain would be recycled and the application would basically do an Application_End() / Application_Start(). I am seeing the same behaviour on mod_mono & Apache ,but I can't find where to change the settings.

  I'm using simple code: import urllib2 response = urllib2.urlopen("http://www.mysite.com/getfile/4355") output = open('myfile.zip','wb') output.write(response.read()) output.close() The web-server is IIS + ASP.NET MVC 4 It returns FileResult wrapping a zip-file with "application/octet-stream" content-type. The problem is that downloaded zip file is broken - only 4.1kB size, where it must be 24kB. When I type the url adress in web-browser directly - it downloads and opens fine. Could you please, suggest, what's wrong with my Python code?

  Is it possible to connect to a SQL Server Express 2008 database in ASP.NET with a server name of (local) like "server=(local);integrated security=SSPI;database=DBNAME"? I'm working with another developer on a project and it's getting annoying having to have 2 different version of web.config because he is using SQL Server 2008 and (local) works, but I can't seem to get it to work with SQL Server 2008 Express locally.
