  • Using the HttpWebRequest class.

    - by Nick
I instantiate the HttpWebRequest object: HttpWebRequest httpWebRequest = WebRequest.Create("http://game.stop.com/webservice/services/gameup") as HttpWebRequest; When I "post" the data to this service, how does the service know which web method to submit the data to? I do not have the code to this web service, all I know is that it was written in Java.

  • Where to store common application settings

    - by Chris
I want to move my application settings out of XAML and into a config file. For example, ToolTips and Content strings for Buttons/CheckBoxes and Labels. Is this the job of a ResourceDictionary, or should I use the App.Config or Settings.settings file? The ToolTips and Content strings are not really per user, they are more Application wide and may change if the UI is internationalized. Thanks!

  • How to test an iPhone application update?

    - by sfkaos
I already have an iPhone application (version 1.0) available in the App Store and am ready to submit a newer version (version 1.1). How do I test the new upgrade to make sure that the current sqlite database and property list files on the earlier version do not get deleted/overwritten etc? The new version assumes the old data in both the sqlite database and property lists remain. Or better yet, is there a resource I can use to walk me through what to watch for when developing an application update?

  • How to create a unique web page address in ASP.NET

    - by Jim
Is there a standard way to create unique web page address in ASP.NET? I'm sending surveys to customers and will be including a link to the web page. For example: http://www.mysurveypages.foo/survey/UniqueID I would then customize the survey based on who I sent it to. I know it can be done by passing in a unique parameter to a page but I curious about doing it this way.

  • how to embed a webpage using wx?

    - by Giorgio Gelardi
I need to show a webpage (a complex page with script and stuff, no static html) in a frame or something. It's for a desktop application, I'm using python 2.6 + wxPython 2.8.10.1. I need to catch some events too (mostly about changing page). I've found some samples using the webview module in a gtk application, but I couldn't have it works on wx.

  • [Delphi] open text files in one application

    - by Remus Rigo
hi all I want to write an text editor and to assign the txt files to it. My problem is that I want to have only one instance running and when a new file is opened to send the filename to the first app that is already running... (I want to do this using mutex). Here is a small test DPR looks like this uses Windows, Messages, SysUtils, Forms, wndMain in 'wndMain.pas' {frmMain}; {$R *.res} var PrevWindow : HWND; S : string; CData : TCopyDataStruct; begin PrevWindow := 0; if OpenMutex(MUTEX_ALL_ACCESS, False, 'MyMutex') <> 0 then begin repeat PrevWindow:=FindWindow('TfrmMain', nil); until PrevWindow<>Application.Handle; if IsWindow(PrevWindow) then begin SendMessage(PrevWindow, WM_SYSCOMMAND, SC_RESTORE, 0); BringWindowToTop(PrevWindow); SetForegroundWindow(PrevWindow); if FileExists(ParamStr(1)) then begin S:=ParamStr(1); CData.dwData:=0; CData.lpData:=PChar(S); CData.cbData:=1+Length(S); SendMessage(PrevWindow, WM_COPYDATA, 0, DWORD(@CData) ); end; end; end else CreateMutex(nil, False, 'MyMutex'); Application.Initialize; Application.CreateForm(TfrmMain, frmMain); Application.Run; end. PAS: type TfrmMain = class(TForm) memo: TMemo; private procedure WMCopyData ( var msg : TWMCopyData ) ; message WM_COPYDATA; public procedure OpenFile(f : String); end; var frmMain: TfrmMain; implementation {$R *.dfm} procedure TfrmMain.WMCopyData ( var msg : TWMCopyData ) ; var f : String; begin f:=PChar(msg.CopyDataStruct.lpData); //ShowMessage(f); OpenFile(f); end; procedure TfrmMain.OpenFile(f : String); begin memo.Clear; memo.Lines.LoadFromFile(f); Caption:=f; end; this code should be ok, but if i want to open a text file (from the second app), the first app receives a message like this: thanks

  • Detect End of Video Playback in Web Page

    - by Eric J.
Is there a widely supported video playback technology for web pages that provides an event/hook that can be captured from Javascript when playback reaches the end of the stream? My goal is to provide a web page that plays a video and then asks the user a question about the video once playback is complete. The question would be hidden or disabled until they have actually viewed the video.

  • What is a .NET application domain?

    - by Luke
In particular, what are the implications of running code in two different application domains? How is data normally passed across the application domain boundary? Is it the same as passing data across the process boundary? I'm curious to know more about this abstraction and what it is useful for. EDIT: Good existing coverage of the AppDomain class in general at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/622516/i-dont-understand-appdomains

  • Use a different *.config file, depending on IIS application pool .NET version

    - by LeeCambl
I'm looking or a way to programmatically determine which version of the .NET Framework an application pool is using in IIS, at runtime, and for a website application to then use that information to choose which *.config file it should use. Is it possible? I'm not sure where to begin. Quite a broad question, and I'm open to any method of solving the problem, so fire away! Thanks in advance, you lovely Stack Overflowers!

  • [C#] Library for working with web pages

    - by kitchen
I'm in search for a library that will let me work with web pages using C# without having to display anything graphically. The library should handle web sites that use JavaScript / AJAX and it should return the correct HTML as if I were viewing the source from within Firefox/Chrome. If there is any information I left out, let me know.

  • Application frame leaves blank line at the top

    - by iFloh
Any clues why my programmatically defined UIScrollView (using the application frame) always leaves an empty space at the top (below the navigationBar) of 20 pixels. How can I close that? UIScrollView *vScrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] applicationFrame]]; vScrollView.backgroundColor = [UIColor redColor]; How do I need to call the application frame size to avoid that gap?
