  • How to show quicktime videos in succession

    - by Eric Frank
How do I have two or more quicktime videos to play one after the other, with no action taken by the user? I've seen an example of the technique here: http://untitled.wiredrive.com//l/p/?presentation=7c79bedbb8b02d2b1da45b033cc20345 I can't seem to boil down their code to the good stuff. Thanks!

  • Installing Jffmpeg to JMF

    - by Krt_Malta
Hi! I'm using JMF in my application. I'm trying to install jffmpeg since I'm encountering the format not supported exception. I've tried following this http://jffmpeg.sourceforge.net/download.html but I got lost. I enter JMF registry ok but what should I do to include the new codecs? (Also when I press Add "Could not add item" comes up... I'm running on Windows 7). Thanks and regards, Krt_Malta

  • MediaElement fails after several plays.

    - by basilkot
    Hi! I have a problem with MediaElement control. I've put six MediaElements on my form, then I start them and change played files by timer. After several times, these elements stop playing. Here is the sample XAML: <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="*" /> <RowDefinition Height="*" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="*" /> <ColumnDefinition Width="*" /> <ColumnDefinition Width="*" /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <MediaElement x:Name="element1" UnloadedBehavior="Close" LoadedBehavior="Manual" Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="0" /> <MediaElement x:Name="element2" UnloadedBehavior="Close" LoadedBehavior="Manual" Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="0" /> <MediaElement x:Name="element3" UnloadedBehavior="Close" LoadedBehavior="Manual" Grid.Column="2" Grid.Row="0" /> <MediaElement x:Name="element4" UnloadedBehavior="Close" LoadedBehavior="Manual" Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="1" /> <MediaElement x:Name="element5" UnloadedBehavior="Close" LoadedBehavior="Manual" Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="1" /> <MediaElement x:Name="element6" UnloadedBehavior="Close" LoadedBehavior="Manual" Grid.Column="2" Grid.Row="1" /> Here is the sample code: // The code below repeats for each MediaElement List<string> playlist1 = new List<string>() { @"file1.wmv", @"file2.wmv", @"file3.wmv", @"file4.wmv" }; DispatcherTimer timer1 = null; int index1 = 0; ... void Window1_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { timer1 = new DispatcherTimer(); timer1.Tick += new EventHandler(timer1_Elapsed); timer1.Interval = TimeSpan.FromSeconds(10); element1.Source = new Uri(playlist1[index1]); timer1.Start(); element1.Play(); ... } void timer1_Elapsed(object sender, EventArgs e) { Dispatcher.BeginInvoke(DispatcherPriority.Normal, (System.Threading.ThreadStart)delegate() { element1.Stop(); element1.Close(); timer1.Stop(); index1++; if (index1 >= playlist1.Count) { index1 = 0; } element1.Source = new Uri(playlist1[index1]); timer1.Start(); element1.Play(); }); } ... Does anybody have similar problems?

  • How to compile all source files (default make target does not compile all of them)

    - by Piotr Krukowiecki
Hi, when I compile android (http://source.android.com/download) it does not compile some source files. For example there is external/bluetooth/bluez/sbc/sbc.c which is not compiled. There are also other such files. It's possible those files need not to be compiled. Or it might be that I need some special configuration to compile them. Either way, if it is possible, I'd like to compile them. Is there some way to do it? Maybe some "compile_all" make target? (I believe the reason why I want to compile all source files is not important)

  • How to build a turn-based multiplayer "real time" server

    - by jmosesman
I want to build a TCG for mobile devices that is multiplayer over the web (not local wifi or bluetooth). As a player plays cards I want the second player to see what is being played in "real time" (within a few seconds). Only one player can play at a time. Server requirements: 1) Continuously listens for input from Player 1 2) As it receives input from Player 1, sends the message to Player 2 I know some PHP, but it seems like unless I had a loop that continued until I broke it (seems like a bad idea) the script would just receive one input and quit. On the mobile side I know I can open sockets using various frameworks, but what language allows a "stream-like" behavior that continuously listens/sends messages on the server? Or if I'm missing something, what would be the best practice here?

  • ExpandableListView child items don't get focus when touched...

    - by Justin
Ok, so I wrote an ExpandableListView and subclassed BaseExpandableListAdapter... Everything works fine except I cannot get the child views to take focus when clicked. If I use the trackball everything works fine. But if I try to click on a child I get no feedback whatsoever. I have tried setting android:focusable, android:focusableInTouchMode, and android:clickable (and I have also tried setting this via code) but I can't get anything to work. Any ideas? Here is my Adapter code: public class ExpandableAppAdapter extends BaseExpandableListAdapter { private PackageManager m_pkgMgr; private Context m_context; private List<ApplicationInfo> m_groups; private List<List<ComponentName>> m_children; public ExpandableAppAdapter(Context context, List<ApplicationInfo> groups, List<List<ComponentName>> children) { m_context = context; m_pkgMgr = m_context.getPackageManager(); m_groups = groups; m_children = children; } @Override public Object getChild(int groupPos, int childPos) { return m_children.get(groupPos).get(childPos); } @Override public long getChildId(int groupPos, int childPos) { return childPos; } @Override public int getChildrenCount(int groupPos) { return m_children.get(groupPos).size(); } @Override public View getChildView(int groupPos, int childPos, boolean isLastChild, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { if (convertView == null) { LayoutInflater inflater = LayoutInflater.from(m_context); convertView = inflater.inflate(R.layout.expandable_app_child_row, null); } ComponentName child = (ComponentName)getChild(groupPos, childPos); TextView txtView = (TextView)convertView.findViewById(R.id.item_app_pkg_name_id); if (txtView != null) txtView.setText(child.getPackageName()); txtView = (TextView)convertView.findViewById(R.id.item_app_class_name_id); if (txtView != null) txtView.setText(child.getClassName()); convertView.setFocusableInTouchMode(true); return convertView; } @Override public Object getGroup(int groupPos) { return m_groups.get(groupPos); } @Override public int getGroupCount() { return m_groups.size(); } @Override public long getGroupId(int groupPos) { return groupPos; } @Override public View getGroupView(int groupPos, boolean isExpanded, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { if (convertView == null) { LayoutInflater inflater = LayoutInflater.from(m_context); convertView = inflater.inflate(R.layout.expandable_app_group_row, null); } ApplicationInfo group = (ApplicationInfo)getGroup(groupPos); ImageView imgView = (ImageView)convertView.findViewById(R.id.item_selection_icon_id); if (imgView != null) { Drawable img = m_pkgMgr.getApplicationIcon(group); imgView.setImageDrawable(img); imgView.setMaxWidth(20); imgView.setMaxHeight(20); } TextView txtView = (TextView)convertView.findViewById(R.id.item_app_name_id); if (txtView != null) txtView.setText(m_pkgMgr.getApplicationLabel(group)); return convertView; } @Override public boolean hasStableIds() { return false; } @Override public boolean isChildSelectable(int groupPos, int childPos) { return true; } } Thanks in advance!

    - by Mark
I work with a Panasonic hcm280a camera that can be controlled by my software, It generates a stream of jpeg files that are huge and I want to convert this stream to a FLV stream preferably with a good compressional ration Does FFMpeg do that? I am basically looking for an off the shelve open source software (or commercial software) that can generate that streaming media for me. Again my input is a stream of jpg files that come from the camera server. Any insight or comment would be greatly appreciated Thanks

  • Adb shell commands to change settings or perform tasks on a phone

    - by Noah
How do I use adb to perform some automated tasks on my android phone? I need to find commands that I can issue from the command line (ideally, using a .bat file) that will be capable of more than simply opening an application or sending an input keyevent (button press). For instance, I want to toggle Airplane Mode on or off from the command line. Currently, the best I can do is launch the Wireless & network settings menu and then use input keyevents to click Airplane mode: adb shell am start -a android.settings.AIRPLANE_MODE_SETTINGS adb shell input keyevent 19 & adb shell input keyevent 23 There are quite a few drawbacks to this method, primarily that the screen has to be on and unlocked. Also, the tasks I want to do are much broader than this simple example. Other things I'd like to do if possible: 1.Play an mp3 and set it on repeat. Current solution: adb shell am start -n com.android.music/.MusicBrowserActivity adb shell input keyevent 84 adb shell input keyevent 56 & adb shell input keyevent 66 & adb shell input keyevent 67 & adb shell input keyevent 19 adb shell input keyevent 23 & adb shell input keyevent 21 adb shell input keyevent 19 & adb shell input keyevent 19 & adb shell input keyevent 19 & adb shell input keyevent 22 & adb shell input keyevent 22 & adb shell input keyevent 23 & adb shell input keyevent 23 2.Play a video. (current solution: open MediaGallery, send keyevents, similar to above) 3.Change the volume (current solution: send volume-up button keyevents) 4.Change the display timeout (current solution: open sound & display settings, send keyevents) As before, these all require the screen to be on and unlocked. The other major drawback to using keyevents is if the UI of the application is changed, the keyevents will no longer perform the correct function. If there is no easier way to do these sort of things, is there at least a way to turn the screen on (using adb) when it is off? Or to have keyevents still work when the screen is off? I'm not very familiar with java. That said, I've seen code like the following (source: http://yenliangl.blogspot.com/2009/12/toggle-airplane-mode.html) to change a setting on the phone: Settings.System.putInt(Settings.System.AIRPLANE_MODE_ON, 1 /* 1 or 0 */); How do I translate something like the above into an adb shell command? Is this possible, or the wrong way to think about it? I can provide more details if needed. Thanks!

  • hosting environment for delivering FLVs [closed]

    - by Gotys
What would be the ideal hardware setup for pushing lots of bandwith on a tube site? We have ever-expanding cloud storage where users upload the movies, then we have these web-delivery machines which cache the FLV files on its local harddrives and deliver them to users. Each cache machine can deliver 1200 mbits/s , if it has SAS 8 harddrives. Such a cache machine costs us $550/month for 8x160gb -- so each machine can cache only 160GB at any given time. If we want to cache more then 160gb , we need to add another machine..another $550/month..etc. This is very un-economical so I am wondering if we have any experts here who can figure out a better setup. I've been looking into "gluster FS", but I am not sure if this thing can push a lot of bandwith. Any ideas highly appreciated. Thank you!

  • what is .motn file?

    - by Wind Chimez
In a flash based project, i got a few files with extension as ".motn". I am not sure what this file is or more importantly, with what editor/tool i can work on this file. What i guess is this might be a way to create flv movies, out of pictures , vectors and otehr data, but it's just a guess. So, basically i have two doubts: 1. what is a .motn file 2. How /with what tool can i work on a .motn file efficiently. Can anybody help ?

  • Creating a Stack Overflow notifier

    - by Trey
I could not find a Stack Overflow notifier Android app so I am planning on making one. I hope that my app will serve a similar purpose as the Stack Overflow Notifier Chrome extension. This will be my first Android app so I am still unfamiliar with the platform. My main concern when creating this app is, what is the proper way to access the user's Recent Activity page? I thought of two different approaches but I'm not sure how to implement either one: Make the user login to Stack Overflow through the Browser application or an embedded browser and scrape their recent activity page occasionally for updates. Ask the user for their username and password and forward this information to Stack Overflow for authentication, storing cookies somehow to keep the session active. I think Astrid uses something similar to the first approach, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet from skimming their code. What is the correct way to handle a notification application like this that requires session management?

    Hi I am developing a campera capture application. I am currently using EmguCV 2.0. I get an error with the following line of code : Image image = capture.QueryFrame(); I have added all the required references of EmguCV like Emgu.CV,Emgu.CV.UI, Emgu.CV.ML, Emgu.Util, but still it gives a error saying : Error 1 The name 'capture' does not exist in the current context C:\Documents and Settings\TLNA\my documents\visual studio 2010\Projects\webcamcapture\webcamcapture\Form1.cs 27 38 webcamcapture I got this code from here. The full program code is given below:- using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.ComponentModel; using System.Data; using System.Drawing; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Windows.Forms; using Emgu.CV; using Emgu.CV.UI; using Emgu.CV.Structure; using Emgu.CV.ML; namespace webcamcapture { public partial class Form1 : Form { public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); } private void timer1_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e) { Image<Bgr, Byte> image = capture.QueryFrame(); pictureBox1.Image = image.ToBitmap(pictureBox1.Width, pictureBox1.Height); } } }

  • Rendering videos online using flash as3 and AIR, how does it work?

    - by David
I came accross this link that talks about the technology used with Animoto.com And it seems like they use AIR to export their flash animations to bitmaps that ffmpeg compil as a movie. http://labs.animoto.com/2009/06/07/presenting-filmstrip/ "It also takes time to render, so what you’re seeing isn’t realtime. It’s a series of Flash-generated frames that have been saved out using AIR and processed into an MP4 after the fact using a utility called FFmpeg." Does that mean AIR is installed on the server? How would that work to export a dynamicaly created aninmation into a series of pics that ffmpeg can then easily convert into a movie? David

  • Best pathfinding for a 2D world made by CPU Perlin Noise, with random start- and destinationpoints?

    - by Mathias Lykkegaard Lorenzen
I have a world made by Perlin Noise. It's created on the CPU for consistency between several devices (yes, I know it takes time - I have my techniques that make it fast enough). Now, in my game you play as a fighter-ship-thingy-blob or whatever it's going to be. What matters is that this "thing" that you play as, is placed in the middle of the screen, and moves along with the camera. The white stuff in my world are walls. The black stuff is freely movable. Now, as the player moves around he will constantly see "monsters" spawning around him in a circle (a circle that's larger than the screen though). These monsters move inwards and try to collide with the player. This is the part that's tricky. I want these monsters to constantly spawn, moving towards the player, but avoid walls entirely. I've added a screenshot below that kind of makes it easier to understand (excuse me for my bad drawing - I was using Paint for this). In the image above, the following rules apply. The red dot in the middle is the player itself. The light-green rectangle is the boundaries of the screen (in other words, what the player sees). These boundaries move with the player. The blue circle is the spawning circle. At the circumference of this circle, monsters will spawn constantly. This spawncircle moves with the player and the boundaries of the screen. Each monster spawned (shown as yellow triangles) wants to collide with the player. The pink lines shows the path that I want the monsters to move along (or something similar). What matters is that they reach the player without colliding with the walls. The map itself (the one that is Perlin Noise generated on the CPU) is saved in memory as two-dimensional bit-arrays. A 1 means a wall, and a 0 means an open walkable space. The current tile size is pretty small. I could easily make it a lot larger for increased performance. I've done some path algorithms before such as A*. I don't think that's entirely optimal here though.

  • Where specifically do UIImageWriteToSavePhotosAlbum or UISaveVideoAtPathToSavedPhotosAlbum save thei

    - by Chris Markle
Simple question I think and I'll be trying ot myself to see... When people talk about using UIImageWriteToSavePhotosAlbum or UISaveVideoAtPathToSavedPhotosAlbum is the "saved photos album" the "Camera Roll" or the "Photo Library" (or something else either than these two) that I see in the Photo Albums application? I don't think the doc makes it super-explicit as to which it is...

  • How to view TV Tuner component input with OpenCV?

    - by monky822
Hi Everyone, I'm trying to use my tvtuner instead of a webcam with opencv. The problem is that by default cvCaptureFromCAM(0) gives me the tv channel of the tv tuner, but what I actually want the input from my the RCA input of the tv tuner. I have tried usingcvCaptureFromCAM(-1) to check if there are additional camera devices found within the tvtuner, but it only gives me the general tvtuner as an option. Is there a way to change the channel of the input?
