  • How to handle multiple openIDs for the same user

    For my site I am using a login system much like the one on SO. A user can login with his Facebook, Google (Gmail openID), Twitter account. This question is not about specific oAuth or openID implementations. The question is how to know if the same user logins with different providers. Let me give an example: Bobo comes to site logins to site by clicking on "Login with Facebook". Because this is his first visit we create an account for him. Later Bobo comes to the site. This time he clicks on "Login with Google". So how do I know if this is the same person so I can add this provider to his account instead of creating a new (and duplicate) account. Can I trust solely on email? What is the best way to handle this. How does SO do it? Any ideas?

  • Django admin interface upload failing on request data read error

    Hi All, This is an updated version of an old question I asked. I've now done a lot more testing, plus the old question got hijacked. I'm getting a request data read error when trying to upload files to the Django admin interface. Files under about 150k work, but bigger files always fail and almost always at around 192k (that's 3 chunks) completed, sometimes at around 160k. The Exception I get is below. File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/django/http/multipartparser.py", line 405, in read return self._file.read(num_bytes) IOError: request data read error I've tried Chrome and Firefox on Windows and Firefox on Mac - Same results. I can upload to other sites so I don't think it's my connection. I'm running python 2.4, django 1.1, mod_wsgi, on CentOS (a media temple DV server) Locally it's fine (Django development server) Everything I've found on this issue says it's a mod_python issue and that changing to mod_wsgi will fix it, but I am running mod_wsgi. Can anyone help?

For example, if the name was missing from the PrimaryContact instance the error would read "primary contact name is required". My current solution is to create a validation service that checks the model state for field errors then remove said errors and add them back using the specific language I'd like.

  • Dependency Injection: How to maintain multiple configurations?

    Hi StackOverflow, Lets assume we've build a system with a DI framework which is working quite fine. This system currently uses JMS to "talk" with other systems not maintained by us. The majority of our customers like the JMS approach and uses it according to our specification. The component which does all the messaging is injected with Spring into the rest of the application. Now we got the case that one customer cannot implement the JMS solution and want to use another messaging technology. Thats not a problem because we can simply implement a messaging service using this technology and inject it in the rest of the application. But how are we supposed to handle the deployment and maintenance of the configuration? Since the application uses Spring i could imagine to check in all the configurations i have for this application and the system administrator could start the application and passing the name of the DI XML file to specify which configuration should be loaded. But... it just don't feel right. Are there any solutions for such cases available? What are the best-practices you use? I could even imagine more complex scenarios which do not contain only one service substitution... Thanks a lot!

Ex: People Name Age -------- Jane 27 Joe 36 Jim 16 Properties Name Property ----------------- Jane Smart Jane Funny Jane Good-looking Joe Smart Joe Workaholic Jim Funny Jim Young I would like to write an efficient select that would select people based on age and return all or some of their properties. Ex: People older than 26 Name Properties Jane Smart, Funny, Good-looking Joe Smart, Workaholic It's also acceptable to return one of the properties and total property count. The query should be efficient: there are millions of rows in people table, hundreds of thousands of rows in properties table (so most people have no properties). There are hundreds of rows selected at a time. Is there any way to do it?

So a function which observers on to and from is trigger twice for a single change in date range. I want to trigger the function only one every date range change.     I have the following table: CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Accounts1]( [AccountId] [nvarchar](50) NULL, [ExpiryDate] [nvarchar](50) NULL ) I am trying to convert nvarchar to datetime using this query: select convert(datetime, expirydate) from accounts I get this error: Conversion failed when converting datetime from character string. The status bar says "2390 rows". I go to rows 2390, 2391 and 2392. There is nothing wrong with the data there. I even try to convert those particular rows and it works. How can I find out which row(s) is causing the conversion error?

  • Entity Relationship Multiple 1:1's

    I have an application where I have a generic object (table) called Hull. Each hull in the table is unique. I have another object that has three hulls, but they are specifically the Port_Hull, Center_Hull and Starboard_Hull. Rather than create a One to Many relationship, I was trying to create a one to one relationship for each one, but this results in numerous errors unless I make the relationship from Hull to Vessel one to many (which it is not). Any idea how I go about this, or should I abandon the concept and make the vessel to hull relationship one to many and deal with lists that always have three entries? p.s. Using uniqueidentifiers as many users can be adding records while disconnected.   • Multiple Connection Types for one Designer Generated TableAdapter

    I have a Windows Forms application with a DataSet (.xsd) that is currently set to connect to a Sql Ce database. Compact Edition is being used so the users can use this application in the field without an internet connection, and then sync their data at day's end. I have been given a new project to create a supplemental web interface for displaying some of the same reports as the Windows Forms application so certain users can obtain reports without installing the Windows app. What I've done so far is create a new Web Project and added it to my current Solution. I have split both the reports (.rdlc) and DataSets out of the Windows Forms project into their own projects so they can be accessed by both the Windows and Web applications. So far, this is working fine. Here's my dilemma: As I said before, the DataSets are currently set up to connect to a local Sql Ce database file. This is correct for the Windows app, but for the Web application I would like to use these same TableAdapters and queries to connect to the Sql Server 2005 database. I have found that the designer generated, strongly-typed TableAdapter classes have a ConnectionModifier property that allows you to make the TableAdapter's Connection public. This exposes the Connection property and allows me to set it, however it is strongly-typed as a SqlCeConnection, whereas I would like to set it to a SqlConnection for my Web project. I'm assuming the DataSet Designer strongly-types the Connection, Command, and DataAdapter objects based on the Provider of the ConnectionString as indicated in the app.config file. Is there any way I can use some generic provider so that the DataSet Designer will use object types that can connect to both a Sql Ce database file AND the actual Sql Server 2005 database? I know that SqlCeConnection and SqlConnection both inherit from DbConnection, which implements IDbConnection. Relatively, the same goes for SqlCeCommand/SqlCommand:DbCommand:IDbCommand. It would be nice if I could just figure out a way for the designer to use the Interface types rather than the strong types, but I'm hesitant that that is possible. I hope my problem and question are clear. Any help is much appreciated. Let me know if there's anything I can clarify.

    I've got a view in my app that does pretty much everything, and I like it that way. The problem however is that it's implementing 5 or 6 different delegates, which seems a little bit messy. My question is, does the view controller have to implement all of the delegates? or is there some way I can separate the code out into different files (without having to do a major restructure or rewrite)?   • sql server 2005 reporting services-- how to use multiple datasets in report

    Hi everyone, I'm new to SQL Server reporting services, and am trying to decipher an existing report. It's nothing too bad, but I notice it does have two report datasets defined. (They are generated via separate stored procedures) I'm trying to figure out where and how the report datasets are linked together so the Fields collection has both sets of columns available and the report has a single rowset to traverse. Is there a section in the report layout where a joining of datasets is defined? I'm using Visual Studio 2005 to design and preview the report fwiw. Thanks for your help!

    So I'm building a rails app for high school students and I've hit a problem when it comes to creating users. I want the students to only be able to create accounts if they select their school and type in their school's password correctly. What is the correct / easiest way of doing this? Should I create a gatekeeper to the user#new action that they have to pass first or if their a way that on the same page a student can submit to forms. One would be the regular username, email, password using: form_for @user do ... end But then creating another form for the high-school / high-school password selection. Ideally the controller would be able to get the params of the high-school form, validate those, then go on to create the user from the user params. Is this possible using rails? My setup: Rails 3 and Ruby 1.9.2dev Thank you!

    Hello everyone, I have a table Student with 2 fields: Name: nvarchar(256) Age: int User will use a WinForm application to input a Name and a Age for searching. If inputted Name is empty, sql will not query Name field. If inputted Age is 0, sql will not query Age field. If Name is Null and inputted Name is empty - record is matched. If Name is Null and inputted Name is not empty - record is not matched. And also similar for Age field. My problem is that how to write a sql like this. P/S: I use SQL Server 2005. Please help me.     I have a report which I used the command subtotals. Aesthetically, I just want to make these subtotal rows (columns A to P) filled with color, be in Bold and have a surrounding border. There are hundreds of totals generated in my report. And they do not have a recurring row position. So basically in order for it to look good, I do it manually per row. Is there a faster way?     SQL injection that actually runs a SQL command is one thing. But injecting data that doesn't actually run a harmful query but that might tell you something valuable about the database, is that considered SQL injection? Or is it just used as part to construct a valid SQL injection? An example could be set rs = conn.execute("select headline from pressReleases where categoryID = " & cdbl(request("id")) ) Passing this a string that could not be turned into a numeric value would cause Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d' Type mismatch: 'cdbl' which would tell you that the column in question only accepts numeric data and is thus probably of type integer or similar. I seem to find this in a lot of pages discussing SQL injection, but don't really get an answer if this in itself is considered SQL injection. The reason for my question is that I have a scanning tool that report a SQL injection vulnerability and reports a VBScript runtime error '800a000d' as the reason for the finding.

  • set equal height on multiple divs

    I need to set equal height on a series of divs inside another div wrapper. The problem is that I dont want the same height on all of them. The page kind of have 3 columns and the floating divs can be 1, 2 or 3 columns wide. The divs float left, so the following example will give me three rows of divs in my wrapper. How can I set equal height on the divs that are in the same row? In my example I want nr 1 and 2 to have equal height and 3, 4 and 5 another equal height? I cant know beforehand how many divs there is or how wide or high they are.   • Using a single visual studio 2005 solution with multiple source control applications

    In my recent SO question I was helped tremendously in using git as a front-end to ClearCase. However actually trying the suggested answer(s) led to further complications. Visual Studio keeps a reference to the used source control provider in both the .sln as well as the .csproj files. I tried resolving this issue by keeping a modified copy of the .sln with the source control provider paragraph removed but this did not help since each project also has some source control provider information. I don't want to keep private copies of all the projects since this would be a maintenance nightmare. Do any of you have suggestions on how to resolve this issue?
