  • Gimpel's PC-lint and Flexelint; Anyone used them?

    - by samoz
So I've read a few magazine articles and the website for Gimpel's PC-lint and Flexelint C/C++ compiler. It's really expensive (at least for me), but it seems like it might have some merit to warrant the cost. So I'm wondering if anyone else has used/bought them and can provide their opinions?

I need to install the ExcelPackage library on Visual Studio 2008. The .zip file I downloaded from their website (http://excelpackage.codeplex.com) contains a .dll, a .xml file, a "GacReg.exe" and a file called ExcelPackage (with this description: "Program Debug Database"). What are the steps to installing this library, or any library in general? I appreciate the help.

I know how to start IE, just can't make a command that goes to a particular webpage. This is what I have so far: psexec "C:\program files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" I just can't figure the syntax for loading anything other than the default start page Thanks!

  • How to change the request IP in HttpWebRequest?

    - by holiveira
I'm developing a website that will connect to a credit card processing gateway webservice. For security purposes this webservice accepts requests only from IP addresses that were previously informed to them. Since I'm developing locally, my IP changes almost every day. Is there a way for me to change the IP address of a HttpWebRequest so that I can test the Webservice calls locally? This webservice is accessed through a https address and the methods must be sent via POST.

  • Where do I start with a web bot?

    - by Jon Duvillier
I simply want to create an automatic script that can run (preferably) on a web-server, and simply 'clicks' on an object of a web page. I am new to Python or whatever language this would be used for so I thought I would go here to ask where to start! This may seem like I want the script to scam advertisements or do something illegal, but it's simply to interact with another website. Sorry for asking, I hope you guys can provide me with some ground to start on!

  • block z-positioning without z-index

    - by Peter
Please, have a look at: http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/base-css.html There are many examples like this one: if you look closer to the block borders, you can see that the gray block is under the white one. Using the browser's developer tools you can see that both boxes have an inherited z-index: auto; I can't reproduce this effect on my website (without using z-index). So, my question is: Why is the gray block under the white one?

  • How to implement geo-based data store and computation?

    - by Mickey Shine
Well, let me explain this briefly: 1.I want to build a website that provides location based services, like http://fireeagle.yahoo.net/ . 2.I guess most of these services have something do with longitude and latitude. 3.Is there any particular database/datastore/data structures fit well for such apps? I mean easy to store longitude, latitude and easy to compute or easy to use. I am new to this and any feedbacks are welcome

  • Android browser scaling?

    - by Joren
I'm trying to create a mobile website for android. When I set the width of the body to 480px (the width of the screen) the result is about 50% larger than what I expect. It seems that android is scaling what it draws and messing up all my layouts. Does anyone know how to disable this, or work around it? I'm already using this: <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, height=device-height, user-scalable=no, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, minimum-scale=1.0" />

  • Dynamically burn Feedburner feeds?

    - by Chris
We have a Drupal website with a seperate RSS feed for every blogger on the site. There will be an indeterminate number of new users signing up and blogging in the future. Drupal automatically generates an RSS feed for each new blog. Is there a way to automatically burn each feed as well? We'd like to avoid manually adding a new feed to Feedburner every time a new user starts their blog.

  • Asp.net web service: Problems accessing without www

    - by MysterM
I have a Asp.net web service running on www.domain.com/Service.svc that I connect to using jQuery from my asp.net website. Everything works perfect if the user access my website with www.domain.com. But if the user uses only domain.com I get error: There was no channel actively listening at 'http://domain.com/Service.svc/get?date=2010-10-09'. This is often caused by an incorrect address URI. Ensure that the address to which the message is sent matches an address on which a service is listening. In my web.config I use the serviceHostingEnvironment tag to get the service running on my webhost (it doesn't work otherwise). Maybe this is what causes the error? Here is my system.serviceModel in web.config (I had some problems setting up the web service so that's why my web.config might be a bit messy: <system.serviceModel> <behaviors> <endpointBehaviors> <behavior name="ServiceAspNetAjaxBehavior"> <enableWebScript /> </behavior> </endpointBehaviors> <serviceBehaviors> <behavior name="ServiceBehavior"> <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="true" /> </behavior> </serviceBehaviors> </behaviors> <serviceHostingEnvironment aspNetCompatibilityEnabled="true"> <baseAddressPrefixFilters> <add prefix="http://www.domain.com"/> </baseAddressPrefixFilters> </serviceHostingEnvironment> <services> <service behaviorConfiguration="ServiceBehavior" name="Service"> <endpoint address="" behaviorConfiguration="ServiceAspNetAjaxBehavior" binding="webHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="ServiceBinding" contract="Service" /> </service> </services> <bindings> <webHttpBinding> <binding name="ServiceBinding" maxBufferPoolSize="1000000" maxReceivedMessageSize="1000000"> <readerQuotas maxDepth="1000000" maxStringContentLength="1000000" maxArrayLength="1000000" maxBytesPerRead="1000000" maxNameTableCharCount="1000000" /> </binding> </webHttpBinding> </bindings> </system.serviceModel> How can I make it possible for my users to access my webservice also when using only domain.com?

  • What are the pros and cons of using manual list iteration vs recursion through fail

    - by magus
I come up against this all the time, and I'm never sure which way to attack it. Below are two methods for processing some season facts. What I'm trying to work out is whether to use method 1 or 2, and what are the pros and cons of each, especially large amounts of facts. methodone seems wasteful since the facts are available, why bother building a list of them (especially a large list). This must have memory implications too if the list is large enough ? And it doesn't take advantage of Prolog's natural backtracking feature. methodtwo takes advantage of backtracking to do the recursion for me, and I would guess would be much more memory efficient, but is it good programming practice generally to do this? It's arguably uglier to follow, and might there be any other side effects? One problem I can see is that each time fail is called, we lose the ability to pass anything back to the calling predicate, eg. if it was methodtwo(SeasonResults), since we continually fail the predicate on purpose. So methodtwo would need to assert facts to store state. Presumably(?) method 2 would be faster as it has no (large) list processing to do? I could imagine that if I had a list, then methodone would be the way to go.. or is that always true? Might it make sense in any conditions to assert the list to facts using methodone then process them using method two? Complete madness? But then again, I read that asserting facts is a very 'expensive' business, so list handling might be the way to go, even for large lists? Any thoughts? Or is it sometimes better to use one and not the other, depending on (what) situation? eg. for memory optimisation, use method 2, including asserting facts and, for speed use method 1? season(spring). season(summer). season(autumn). season(winter). % Season handling showseason(Season) :- atom_length(Season, LenSeason), write('Season Length is '), write(LenSeason), nl. % ------------------------------------------------------------- % Method 1 - Findall facts/iterate through the list and process each %-------------------------------------------------------------- % Iterate manually through a season list lenseason([]). lenseason([Season|MoreSeasons]) :- showseason(Season), lenseason(MoreSeasons). % Findall to build a list then iterate until all done methodone :- findall(Season, season(Season), AllSeasons), lenseason(AllSeasons), write('Done'). % ------------------------------------------------------------- % Method 2 - Use fail to force recursion %-------------------------------------------------------------- methodtwo :- % Get one season and show it season(Season), showseason(Season), % Force prolog to backtrack to find another season fail. % No more seasons, we have finished methodtwo :- write('Done').

Your help would be very much appreciated.

  • Troubles with my open id provider. How to debug ?

I have my own openid provider on my website, with phpmyid. It worked flawlessly until now, but apparently now it's not working anymore. I am unable to login anywhere I tried. How can I debug what's going on, to understand where's the problem ? I can add more details if required, but if I can figure it out by myself without having to paste stuff it would be better.

  • How to prevent arbitrary code execution vulnerability in our programs?

    - by Calmarius
You always read in changelogs when your system or browser or any program updates that they fixed a bug that made possible that an attacker can execute any code in your computer with a forged website, or attacking your computer with carefully forged packets, etc... Because you read it so often that means any program can have similar vulnerabilites... What causes this? how to design our programs to prevent similar issues?

  • How to keep PayPal variables secure

    - by dclowd9901
I'm trying to link my 3rd party shopping cart to PayPal, and in the process I'm finding that my variables are extremely exposed, such that, if someone uses, say, Firebug, to manipulate the values of my variables, they can change the cost of the items in the transaction. I'm very new to online carts and shopping, so my question is how do I keep this layer of exposure away from users and secure for the website?
