  • Solr PHP client vs file_get_contents?

    I am using PHP to access Solr and I wonder one thing. Why should I use Solr PHP client when I can use: $serializedResult = file_get_contents( 'http://localhost:8983/solr/select?q=niklas&wt=phps'); to get the result in arrays and then print them out? I don't really get the difference. Are there any richer features with the PHP client?

    Hello, is there any ReSharper-like addon for NetBeans (preferably 6.8)? I'm using NetBeans for PHP. I need following features: add some kind of code analysis add some intelligent refactoring interface enhance current code completion system add more options to code highlighting Currently I'm using multiple external tools, which aren't exactly user-friendly and I'd like to, preferably, have it all in one tool.     Hi I'm looking for a dead simple Java Library to use for SFTP file transfers. I don't need any other features beyond that. I've tried Zehon's, but it's incredible naggy, and I think 8 jar files is a bit crazy for so little functionality as I require. And the library have to be free (as in free beer), and preferable Open Source (not a requirement). Thanks.

    I'm using MS VC 2008 and for some projects Intel C++ compiler 11.0. Is it worth using tr1 features in production? Will they stay in new standard? For example, now I use stdext::hash_map. TR1 defines std::tr1::unordered_map. But in MS implementation unordered_map is just theirs stdext::hash_map, templatized in another way.

    I am getting uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: [@name='rbRewSelectionGroup'] when I load the page: <script language="javascript"> $("input[@name='rbRewSelectionGroup']").click(function() { $(this).closest("form").submit(); }); </script> I am not seeing it. I do not see anything wrong with this code at all. I do have the jQuery (1.4.2) library loaded with the page.

    I would like to write myself a pretty printer for java using bison and flex. I have written a pretty printer for a script language, but I was only writing visitors, which made the printing. How can I turn a program using my formal grammar into a tree of nodes (made using C++ classes), that afterwards I could visit using my visitor?
