• iPhone generalPasteboard loses contents if application is closed by an -openURL: call

  I have a method, that puts something on the pasteboard. This method is called one of two ways, one, as an IBAction from a button, the other from another method which afterwards closes the application by doing: [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"sms:"]]; The problem arises only when the application is not closed using the home button, but is closed using the line above. When that happens, the pasteboard contents are lost. I assume this problem has something to do with the object being cleaned up improperly when it closes this way, but have no idea why it is doing that. I have even tried to intentionally leak the object that gets put on the pasteboard, but it still gets lost on the way out.   Hi, we had a debate at work about what is the best practice for using listeners in java: whether listener logic should stay in the anonymous class, or it should be in a separate method, for example: button.addActionListener(new ActionListener() { public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { // code here } }); or button.addActionListener(new ActionListener() { public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { buttonPressed(); } }); private void buttonPressed() { // code here } which is the recommended way in terms of readability and maintainability? • Override tooltip text for Titlebar buttons (Close, Maximize, Minimize, Help)

  I have been trying without luck to change the text of the tooltip that appears for the buttons on the main title bar of a form. In a nutshell, we have harnessed the 'Help' button for Windows Forms to have some other purpose. This is working fine. The issue is that when hovering the mouse over that button, a 'Help' tooltip appears, which doesn't make any sense for the application. Ideally, there would be some way to change the text of that tooltip for my application; however, at this point I would be satisfied just finding a way to disable the tooltips altogether. I know that you can disable the tooltips for the entire OS by modifying the 'UserPreferencesMask' key in regedit, but I would really like a way to have this only affect my application. Again, ideally there would be some way to do this with managed code, but I would not be opposed to linking into the Windows API or the like. Thanks for any suggestions for resolving this issue!

The problem seems to be on my OnMouseMove method.   I've written a simple Employee class that I'm trying to serialize to an XDocument and then use XSLT to transform the document to a page that displays both the properties (Name and ID) from the Employee class, and an html form with 2 radio buttons (Approve and Reject) and a submit button. Does anyone know what needs to be done so that my transform will select and display both the Employee properties and the html form?

• Ubuntu 12.04 + Raid0 + Windows 7 not loading

  please someone help me.... (Sorry for my english) Hi, I have a Pc with 2 Hd (1Tb each) on Raid0. I had a Windows 7 64bits working for several months. When I installed the Windows I let a 100Gb partition empty to install Ubuntu someday. I was using Linux on a Virtualbox, but this week I tried to install Ubuntu 12.04 in this 100Gb partition. I used the Ubuntu alternate cd, because the 'normal' cd was giving me trouble with the Raid0. The grub installation always reported a error. After a lot of work I found that I nedded to install grub on partition /dev/mapper/isw_chjbfeec_DougRaid1 (see Bootinfo below). The Windows installation created a 100Mb boot partition, so I needed to install grub in this partition. Now I have the Ubuntu working 100% ok. The problem is, the Windows is not booting! The windows option is present on the grub menu, but when I choose the windows option there is a black screen and after that the grub is reloaded.   Hi, I have a button in a view which refuses to work. I've got in working in a blank, default view application from X-Code, but in none of my applications will it work, instead it gives me the following error. Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '* -[UIViewController showVicInfo:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3c084f0' The debugger isn't any help either. I've made sure that I hook up the button to the file's owner (not the other way around) as well. Below is the code for the action. • UINavigationController from UIViewController

  I currently have this workflow in a tab based app: Tab1 loads... ViewOne : UIViewController >> PickerView : UIViewController >> DetailView : UIViewController "" means loads based on user action. I'd like navigation bars on PickerView and DetailView. PickerView just needs a cancel button in the top left of its nav bar. DetailView needs the normal navbar back button. I already have PickerView's nav bar wired up through IB and working. I'm not sure what to do with PickerView's nav bar. PickerView is also loaded from Tab2, who's main view starts as a UINavigationController. PickerView's nav bar works fine in that case. ViewOne should not have a navigation bar. Any ideas?

• Flex: vertical gap between list items not working

  I have a list item with buttons in it like so: <mx:List contentBackgroundAlpha="0" baseColor="0x333333" leading="10" id="weekButtonList" width="260" borderVisible="false" dataProvider="{_data.mappoints.week.@number}" itemClick="onWeekClick(event);" > <mx:itemRenderer > <mx:Component> <mx:Button buttonMode="true" width="260" height="50" label="Week {data}" /> </mx:Component> </mx:itemRenderer> </mx:List> No matter what I do, these buttons have a vertical gap inbetween them. I have tried everything from setting the "vertical-gap" property to negative and positive numbers as well as changing the padding-bottom and padding-top on them. I want the buttons to be right up against eachother vertically. I have also tried "button-height" and padding on the List component...still nothing. How do I control this?

  In my viewForAnnotation delegate, I create a MKAnnotationView with leftCalloutaccessory as a info button. When the info button is tapped, I want to replace it with a UIActivityIndicator. So in the calloutAccessoryTapped delegate, I wrote view.leftCalloutaccessoryView = [UIActivityIndicator indicatorWithStyle:UIActivityIndicatorWhite]; The callout accessory seems to change, but it seems like the view doesn't get updated immediately. That's when the callout accessory gets hidden (by tapping another pin) and is re-opened, I see a spinner. But otherwise, I don't. I tried calling [view setNeedsdisplay] and [view setNeedsLayout] and [view layoutsubviews] as well but in vain. Any suggestions/pointers?

• Jquery click() not behaving like user click

  I have searched for a solution to this for the last several hours but to no avail. When I click on a button that has a return false in OnClientClick, no postback occurs to the server. When I use jquery to trigger the click function of the button, OnClientClick fires first, but regardless of the return value, a postback occurs. Here's a simple sample... So, in this example, when Button1 is clicked normally, no postback occurs. When Button2 is clicked, a postback always occurs. Is this a bug or intended behavior?

Senario Give i am on the "Edit Survey" page. I would like to add a button to each "Question" field which calls a remote_function, which in turn queue's up a delayed_job to execute some processing on the "Question". To give feedback to the user, i would like to disable the button, and show an animated spinner, which remains until the delayed_job has processed the "Question". Hint - I can add methods to the "Question" model to indicate the status of the delayed_job. So, with best practices in mind, what is the best way to achieve this?

  Hi Chaps, I have a PHP form with one input and a button. A jQuery script ('loading' animated gif) is triggered on the click of the submit button. I also have a Spry Validation field linked to the input. At the moment, if the validation is triggered, the animated gif continues and won't stop.
