  • How can I make a group bar plot in ggplot2?

    I have four of these kind of dataframes each with a different name (Apple,Ball,Cat) with different values of frequency but same 4 season names Seasons Frequency DJF 9886 JJA 5408 MAM 12876 SON 6932 And I am trying to make a group bar plot. The graph I'm looking for is like this, where c,d,e,f will be the names - Apple, Ball, Cat. Y-axis will be Frequency Each group will have 4 bars: DJF,JJA,MAM,SON Filled by seasons The number of Frequency written above the bar plot. How can I format the data to make it suitable for ggplot (cbind, melt etc) and use it in ggplot?

    WPF and Silverlight have a data binding model whereby I can provide a Binding with a Path which comprises a dot-notation of property accessors down from a DataContext to a specific value inside a complex object graph (eg. MyDataContext.RootProperty.SubProperty.Thing.Value) I have a (non-UI) requirement to accept such a path expressed as a simple string, and to use reflection on an object which is (hopefully) of a type which exposes the right property getters and setters in order to read and/or write values to those properties. Before I go off and start writing the parser and reflection code, is there a handy Framework 3.5 BCL class to help with this?

  • Doctrine inserts when it should update

    I am trying to use do the most simple update query but Doctrine issues an INSERT statement instead of an UPDATE. $q = Doctrine_Query::create() ->from('Image i') ->where('id = ?'); $image = $q->fetchOne($articleId, Doctrine_Core::HYDRATE_RECORD); $image->copyright = "some text"; $image->save(); I have also tried using the example from the manual, but still a new record gets inserted: $userTable = Doctrine_Core::getTable('User'); $user = $userTable->find(2); if ($user !== false) { $user->username = 'Jack Daniels'; $user->save(); } edit: This example from the manual works: $user = new User(); $user->assignIdentifier(1); $user->username = 'jwage'; $user->save(); The funny thing is that I use this on another model and there it works OK. Maybe I have to fetch the whole array graph for this to work (I have another model in a one to many relationship)?

    I like the Android platform. Actually, with some friends, we even participate to the ADC with the Spoxt project. But Java is not my favourite language at all. We are working on a S60 version and this platform has a nice Python API. Of course there is nothing official about Python on Android, but since Jython exists, does anybody know a way to let the snake and the robot work together ?

  • Is HTTP 404 appropriate for out of range page number on paged content?

    I have a site that is mainly showing a paged list of content (articles, data element's, etc.), and I'm wondering about returning HTTP 404 when user navigates outside of the available list range. Some sites just display "No results/Page number out of range" and some return additionally return HTTP 404 status. What's your take on that, and why? UPDATE It's not and api response. This question is in regard to user viewed pages that among other things show a list/table in the main area.

  • Recreating iPhone stock application with nested views

    I am trying to create an app similar to the Yahoo Stocks app that comes on the iPhone, with the split-screen interface (table on the top, graph on the bottom). I'm struggling with the view hierarchy. What is the easiest way to implement a split-screen type of application. I basically want two views nested in a parent view. My problem is a little bit more complex because I want functionality like having a uipagecontrol (does this require another viewcontroller, or is simply implemented in the initial view controller)? To what degree do I need to use IB? I would prefer to do this all in Xcode. Thanks in advance!

Will it get run if an uncaught exception happens? 2) Use a shutdown hook. Any problems to be aware of there which aren't mentioned in Design of the Shutdown Hooks API?

  • How to disable auto-assume in Google Chrome

    I've noticed that whenever I sign in in Google Chrome version 21.0 it automatically assumes and it automatically knows what I want to search. I basically use the address bar to search(my default search engine is Google) I don't go type Google.com on the address bar and then search from there. So what happens is that when I type something for example "vernier" for vernier caliper I'm automatically redirected to my facebook account which has a user account name of vern.ancheta. It's really getting annoying, this happens for every search term that I used maybe even ones that I haven't used before in my entire search history in Google. It always assumes as if it knows what I'm really thinking. What's the solution for this? Is this a bug in Google Chrome or just one of its annoying features. Please enlighten me on this.

    Hi, I'm wondering if someone knows how to store an array into a user session? This is the method to store a single attribute: $this->getUser()->setAttribute('something', $something); And the documentation says: "User attributes can store any type of data (strings, arrays, and associative arrays)" ... but doesn't say anything more. The API documentation doesn't have a "SetAttributes" or something similarly obvious. Thank you.

  • Issue with plotting daily data using ggplot

    I tried to plot daily data from 9 variables in ggplot, but the graph I get cannot handle the date variable properly. The x axis is unreadable and its impossible to read the plot. I'm guessing there's an issue with the handling of dates. I have not found any more info in any books or internet. My website download forms has 1000's of pages generated thru script. I want to generate breadcrumb navigation for the pages. Google has refused me Adsense account due to this lack of navigation.

    Our current setup is that we have two targets, Staging and Live. Collaborators may update the affected component while it is still within the workflow. A final activity is set to publish the related pages to Live. Is it possible to publish component updates (revisions e.g. 2.2, 2.5) to Staging from within the workflow? The TOM API documentation for Page.Publish() method does not seem to have an input parameter to fullfil such purpose.

    I have a Rails app on a subdomain - xyz.domain.com, and a PHP app on another subdomain - abc.domain.com When a user is logged into the Rails app, I would like to give them a session so that I can log certain events about that user in the PHP app but in the same database of the Rails app. I would essentially just expose an API that requires authentication.     Hi - I'm getting JSON-encoded output from another organization's API. In many cases, the output can be either an array of objects (if there are many) or an object (if there's just one). Right now I'm writing tortured code like this: if ( is_array($json['candidateList']['candidate'][0]) ) { foreach ($json['candidateList']['candidate'] as $candidate) { // do something to each object } } else { // do something to the single object } How can I handle it so the "do something" part of my code only appears once and uses a standard syntax?
