  • Not-quite-JSON string deserialization in Python

    - by cpharmston
I get the following text as a string from an XML-based REST API 'd':4 'ca':5 'sen':1 'diann':2,6,8 'feinstein':3,7,9 that I'm looking to deserialize into a pretty little Python dictionary: { 'd': [4], 'ca': [5], 'sen': [1], 'diann': [2, 6, 8], 'feinstein': [3, 7, 9] } I'm hoping to avoid using regular expressions or heavy string manipulation, as this format isn't documented and may change. The best I've been able to come up with: members = {} for m in elem.text.split(' '): m = m.split(':') members[m[0].replace("'", '')] = map(int, m[1].split(',')) return members Obviously a terrible approach, but it works, and that's better than anything else I've got right now. Any suggestions on better approaches?

  • parsing string off a configuration using strtok in C

    - by Jessica
in the configuration file i have entries similar to this one: filepath = c:\Program Files\some value Where the path can contain spaces and there are no quotes on that string. I tried parsing this with strtok like: char *option; char *value; value = strtok(line, " ="); strcpy(option, value); value = strtok(NULL, " ="); where line is the line I am reading from the file, option will contain the left side of the equal (filepath) and value will contain the right side (c:\program files\some value). I know, it's poor coding, but I haven't found something better. sorry... In any case, for those options where there's no space in the right side it works great, but in those containing spaces it only return the string until the 1st space: c:\Program. Is there any other way to do this? Code is appreciated. Jessica

  • String labels on boxplot outliers

    - by Benoît Collette
Hi! I want to put string labels on outliers in a boxplot. Here's a simplification of the dataset I'm using: [,x] [,y] [,z] 7 2 a 10 2 b 112 3 c boxdata<-boxplot(x ~ y) To put values as label on outliers by group, I use this function: for(i in 1:length(boxdata$group)){ text(boxdata$group[i], boxdata$out[i], which(x==boxdata$out[i]),labels=boxdata$out[i],pos=4) } The problem is that I want to put z (string) as label instead of outlier value, but I don't know how to proceed. What do I need to do? Thank you! Ben

  • C#, string replace russian to english

    - by Fabio Beoni
Hello, I have a strange problem replacing chars in string... I read a .txt file containing russian text, and starting from a list of letters russian to english (ru=en), I loop the list and I WOULD like to replace russian characters with english characters. The problem is: I can see in the debug the right reading of the russian and the right reading of the english, but using myWord = myWord.Replace(ruChar, enChar), the string is not replaced. My txt file is a UTF-8 encoding. Any suggestions?? Thank you to all...

  • Copying part of a string in C

    - by wolfPack88
This seems like it should be really simple, but for some reason, I'm not getting it to work. I have a string called seq, which looks like this: ala ile val I want to take the first 3 characters and copy them into a different string. I use the command: memcpy(fileName, seq, 3 * sizeof(char)); That should make fileName = "ala", right? But for some reason, I get fileName = "ala9". I'm currently working around it by just saying fileName[4] = '\0', but was wondering why I'm getting that 9. Note: After changing seq to ala ile val ser and rerunning the same code, fileName becomes "alaK". Not 9 anymore, but still an erroneous character.

  • SQL Query Returning Duplicate Results

    - by Jesse Bunch
Hi, I've been working out this query now for a while and I thought I had it where I wanted it, but apparently not. There are two records in the database (orders). The query should return two different rows, but instead returns two rows that have exactly the same values. I think it may be something to do with the GROUP BY or derived tables I'm using but my eyes are tired and not seeing the problem. Can any of you help? Thanks in advance. SELECT orders.billerID, orders.invoiceDate, orders.txnID, orders.bName, orders.bStreet1, orders.bStreet2, orders.bCity, orders.bState, orders.bZip, orders.bCountry, orders.sName, orders.sStreet1, orders.sStreet2, orders.sCity, orders.sState, orders.sZip, orders.sCountry, orders.paymentType, orders.invoiceNotes, orders.pFee, orders.shipping, orders.tax, orders.reasonCode, orders.txnType, orders.customerID, customers.firstName AS firstName, customers.lastName AS lastName, customers.businessName AS businessName, orderStatus.statusName AS orderStatus, IFNULL(orderItems.itemTotal, 0.00) + orders.shipping + orders.tax AS orderTotal, IFNULL(orderItems.itemTotal, 0.00) + orders.shipping + orders.tax - IFNULL(payments.totalPayments, 0.00) AS orderBalance FROM orders LEFT JOIN customers ON orders.customerID = customers.id LEFT JOIN orderStatus ON orders.orderStatus = orderStatus.id LEFT JOIN ( SELECT orderItems.orderID, SUM(orderItems.itemPrice * orderItems.itemQuantity) as itemTotal FROM orderItems GROUP BY orderItems.orderID ) orderItems ON orderItems.orderID = orders.id LEFT JOIN ( SELECT payments.orderID, SUM(payments.amount) as totalPayments FROM payments GROUP BY payments.orderID ) payments ON payments.orderID = orders.id

  • jQuery AJAX converting variable string to html styled text

    - by sadmicrowave
I've got an AJAX transmission of a variable string in my primary coding language (Visual FoxPro 9) that looks like this: AjaxResponse = CREATEOBJECT("Custom") lcMessage = "<li class='hello'>Hello</li>" AjaxResponse.AddProperty("Reply", lcMessage) Response.ContentType = "text/html" Response.Write(AjaxResponse.Reply) While using the jQuery function .ajax() I've created a success: function that looks like this: $.ajax({ url: 'index?Proc=GetUuserHistory', dataType: "html", success: function(data){ $("div#history-text").text(data); }; }); My problem is that the text inserting into 'div#history-text' is unformatted and contains the li tags still. I've tried substituting the .text for .prepend, .append, and .html with no luck...is there a way to convert this string back to html format after its been received using Ajax?

  • Accessing object property as string and setting its value

    - by ludicco
Hello there, I have an object in csharp from the class Account each account have a owner, reference, etc. One way I can access an accounts properties is through accessors like account.Reference; but I would like to be able to access it using dynamic string selectors like: account["PropertyName"]; just like in javascript. so I would have account["Reference"] which would return the value...but I also would like to be able to sign a new value after that like: account["Reference"] = "124ds4EE2s"; I've noticed I can use DataBinder.Eval(account,"Reference") to get a property based on a string, but using this I can't sign a value to the property. Any idea on how I could do that? Thanks a lot

  • Copying non null-terminated unsigned char array to std::string

    - by karlphillip
If the array was null-terminated this would be pretty straight forward: unsigned char u_array[4] = { 'a', 's', 'd', '\0' }; std::string str = reinterpret_cast<char*>(u_array); std::cout << "-> " << str << std::endl; However, I wonder what is the most appropriate way to copy a non null-terminated unsigned char array, like the following: unsigned char u_array[4] = { 'a', 's', 'd', 'f' }; into a std::string. Is there any way to do it without iterating over the unsigned char array? Thank you all.

  • Yahoo Query Language Problem

    - by Damiano
Hello everybody! Today, I've started with Yahoo Query Language. I would use it to retrive stocks details, so I'm talking about Yahoo Finance. I think there is a bug on this language. This is my query: select * from yahoo.finance.quoteslist where symbol='@^GSPC' I ALWAYS get 51 results! it's impossible, take a look at: http://it.finance.yahoo.com/q/cp?s=^GSPC There are 500 results! I also tried some paging parameters. select * from yahoo.finance.quoteslist(50,30) where symbol='@^GSPC' (to get from 50 to 80) select * from yahoo.finance.quoteslist(100) where symbol='@^GSPC' (to get the first 100 results) select * from yahoo.finance.quoteslist where symbol='@^GSPC' limit 30 offset 50 but ALWAYS the last stock is: <quote symbol="BBY"> <Symbol>BBY</Symbol> <LastTradePriceOnly>41.03</LastTradePriceOnly> <LastTradeDate>5/7/2010</LastTradeDate> <LastTradeTime>4:00pm</LastTradeTime> <Change>-0.48</Change> <Open>41.35</Open> <DaysHigh>42.35</DaysHigh> <DaysLow>39.60</DaysLow> <Volume>14129531</Volume> </quote> Why do I have this kind of problem? Thank you so much for your support! (P.S. I've tested it on Yahoo YQL console)

  • Can't get this SPARQL query to work

    - by Jason
Okay, I'm just learning to use SPARQL to query data from dbpedia.org and I'm using dbpedia's http://dbpedia.org/snorql/ to run my queries in. I am trying to get a list of MusicalArtists based on searching for the same string over three fields like so: SELECT ?subject ?artistRdfsLabel ?artistFoafName ?artistDbpedia2Name WHERE { ?subject rdf:type <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/MusicalArtist> . OPTIONAL { ?subject rdfs:label ?artistRdfsLabel . } OPTIONAL { ?subject foaf:name ?artistFoafName . } OPTIONAL { ?subject dbpedia2:name ?artistDbpedia2Name . } FILTER ( str(?artistRdfsLabel) = "Stevie Nicks" || str(?artistFoafName) = "Stevie Nicks" || str(?artistDbpedia2Name) = "Stevie Nicks" ) } LIMIT 10 This works because "Stevie Nicks" has all three fields (rdfs:label, foaf:name, dbpedia2:name). But when I try to query by another MusicalArtist that doesn't have all three ("Depeche Mode" for example) I get no results. I have tried various things like BIND(COALESCE(?field,...,...) AS ?artistName) to filter by ?artistName and I also tried UNION but nothing seems to work. Can someone point out the error of my SPARQL ways? :) Thanks! Jason

  • How can I perform a web query in C# similar to the Data > Import External Data > New Web Query in Mi

    - by TNT
I need to pull data from a table on a website. I can easily do this in VBA using the Web Query, but I need to do this in C#. I'm just having some trouble figuring out how to properly convert the code. I got something close, but it's returning HTML with the data. I just want the data. Any help would be great. The block of code giving me issues is below: Private Function GetData(ByVal theURL As String, ByVal theRow As Integer, ByVal thePosition As Integer, ByVal theColumn As String, ByVal theTable As Integer) With ActiveSheet.QueryTables.Add(Connection:="URL;" + theURL, Destination:=Sheet2.Range(theColumn & theRow + 1)) .Name = "op?s=" + Mid(theURL, thePosition + 1) + "_1" .PreserveFormatting = True .AdjustColumnWidth = True .WebTables = theTable .Refresh BackgroundQuery:=False End With End Function

    - by karthik
I am using the below SP to return the value of Generated Insert statement and it works fine when executed in Query browser. When i try to get the value from C#, it give's me "System.Byte[]" as return value. When i try to get the value from MySql query browser, it give's me return value as : 'insert into admindb.accounts values("54321","2","karthik2","karthik2","1");' I guess the problem is with the single quotes of the returned value. • Java String Replace and null characters

    - by praspa
Testing out someone elses code (of course it was ...) , I noticed a few JSP pages printing funky non-ascii characters. Taking a dip into the source I found this tidbit. // remove any periods from first name e.g. Mr. John --> Mr John firstName = firstName.trim().replace('.','\0'); Does replacing a character in a String with a null character even work in Java? I know that '\0' will terminate a c-string. Would this be the culprit to the funky characters? Thanks PR

  • mysql whats wrong with this query?

    - by Hailwood
    I'm trying to write a query that selects from four tables campaignSentParent csp campaignSentEmail cse campaignSentFax csf campaignSentSms css Each of the cse, csf, and css tables are linked to the csp table by csp.id = (cse/csf/css).parentId The csp table has a column called campaignId, What I want to do is end up with rows that look like: | id | dateSent | emailsSent | faxsSent | smssSent | | 1 | 2011-02-04 | 139 | 129 | 140 | But instead I end up with a row that looks like: | 1 | 2011-02-03 | 2510340 | 2510340 | 2510340 | Here is the query I am trying SELECT csp.id id, csp.dateSent dateSent, COUNT(cse.parentId) emailsSent, COUNT(csf.parentId) faxsSent, COUNT(css.parentId) smsSent FROM campaignSentParent csp, campaignSentEmail cse, campaignSentFax csf, campaignSentSms css WHERE csp.campaignId = 1 AND csf.parentId = csp.id AND cse.parentId = csp.id AND css.parentId = csp.id; Adding GROUP BY did not help, so I am posting the create statements. csp CREATE TABLE `campaignsentparent` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `campaignId` int(11) NOT NULL, `dateSent` datetime NOT NULL, `account` int(11) NOT NULL, `status` varchar(15) NOT NULL DEFAULT 'Creating', PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=2 DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 cse/csf (same structure, different names) CREATE TABLE `campaignsentemail` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `parentId` int(11) NOT NULL, `contactId` int(11) NOT NULL, `content` text, `subject` text, `status` varchar(15) DEFAULT 'Pending', PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=140 DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 css CREATE TABLE `campaignsentsms` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `parentId` int(11) NOT NULL, `contactId` int(11) NOT NULL, `content` text, `status` varchar(15) DEFAULT 'Pending', PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=141 DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1

I fairly new to MySQL with Java, but I have executed a few successful INSERT queries however cannot seem to get the CREATE TABLE query to execute without getting the 'MySQLSyntaxErrorException' exception. My code is as follows: import java.sql.*; Statement stmt; Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"); String url = "jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/mysql"; Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection(url, "root", "password"); stmt = con.createStatement(); String tblSQL = "CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS \'dev\'.\'testTable\' (\n" + " \'id\' int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,\n" + " \'date\' smallint(6) NOT NULL\n" + ") ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=1 ;"; stmt.executeUpdate(tblSQL); stmt.close(); con.close(); And the error is as follows: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ''dev'.'testTable' ( 'id' int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, 'date' smallint(6) N' at line 1 I would appreciate it if anyone could spot the mistake in this query, as I've tried executing this within phpMyAdmin and it works as it should.
