  • Error: The conversion of a nvarchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value

    I know that there are simmilar questions like this on the forum, however I am still having problems to update a datetime field o the database. I dont get any problems when inserting but I get problems when updating and I am formating the same way , like this: e.Values.Item("SelectionStartDate") = Format(startdate, "yyyy-MM-dd") + " " + startTime1 + ".000" startTime is of type string. I have tried different solution that I came across on the internet but still get this error. Please help. Thanks in advance

    Hi, I want to create a Word or RTF file with a table of contents (with links to each section) from Java. From my understanding, iText & Apache POI do not support generating a table of contents. Some clients of the app still use older versions of Word, so I need a library that supports the older Word doc format. Does anyone know how I can do this? Thanks, Glen

    I have an XML page with some elements in various languages - Arabic, English, Chinese, Japanese.. Which encoding format should I have to choose for that? If I try to render the XML with an XSL (using utf-8 or ISO-8859-6 or ISO-2022-JP), I get this error: An invalid character was found in text content. How shall or solve this? Thanks.

Java's pattern matcher doesn't seem to accept \? as a valid escape sequence but it also fails to work with the tester at myregexp.com.     I have two tables posts and comments. Table comments have post_id attribute. I need to get all posts with type "open", for which there are no comments with type "good" and created date MAY 1. Is it optimal to use such SQL-query: SELECT posts.* FROM posts WHERE NOT EXISTS ( SELECT comments.id FROM comments WHERE comments.post_id = posts.id AND comments.comment_type = 'good' AND comments.created_at BETWEEN '2010-05-01 00:00:00' AND '2010-05-01 23:59:59') I'm not sure that NOT EXISTS is perfect construction in this situation.

    Hi, I am trying to select between two dates, but in the table they have timestamps after them. Example: calldate is 2010-03-16 22:43:28 How would I select this using calldate between '$date1' AND '$date2' to wildcard the timestamp after the date? I tried using like but it didn't work I just want to do between '$date1%' AND '$date2%' Anyone know how to do this? Thank you in advance!

The problem is, that I've to rewrite the whole archive if a single file is added. I could get rid of the gzip compression, but adding a file would still be expensive.   • Automatically generating better views for ASP.NET MVC

    I am currently watching the 80 minute ASP.NET MVC introduction. Automatically generating views from a model is pretty neat, but it seems to me that that the automatically generated views could be much better. For a start, instead of inputing dates with text boxes, there could be a date control. Additionally, number inputs could be verified client side. There are probably other improvements that could be made as well. Is it possible to automatically generate better views?
