  • How do I run gtk demos?

    - by Runner
    They are located under: share\gtk-2.0\demo But none of them contains a main function, how can I make the following textscroll.c actually work: /* Text Widget/Automatic scrolling * * This example demonstrates how to use the gravity of * GtkTextMarks to keep a text view scrolled to the bottom * while appending text. */ #include <gtk/gtk.h> #include "demo-common.h" /* Scroll to the end of the buffer. */ static gboolean scroll_to_end (GtkTextView *textview) { GtkTextBuffer *buffer; GtkTextIter iter; GtkTextMark *mark; char *spaces; static int count; buffer = gtk_text_view_get_buffer (textview); /* Get "end" mark. • Linking C and CXX files in CMake

    - by vedro so snegom
    Hi I'm building C++ app with CMake. But it uses some source files in C. Here is simplified structure: trunk/CMakeLists.txt: project(myapp) set(CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS "${CMAKE_C_FLAGS} -g -Wall") add_subdirectory (src myapp) trunk/src/main.cpp: #include "smth/f.h" int main() { f(); } trunk/src/CMakeLists.txt: add_subdirectory (smth) link_directories (smth) set(APP_SRC main) add_executable (myapp ${APP_SRC}) target_link_libraries (myapp smth) trunk/src/smth/f.h: #ifndef F_H #define F_H void f(); #endif trunk/src/smth/f.c: #include "f.h" void f() {} trunk/src/smth/CMakeLists.txt set (SMTH_SRC some_cpp_file1 some_cpp_file2 f) add_library (smth STATIC ${SMTH_SRC}) The problem is: i run gmake, it compiles all the files and when it links all libs together, i get: undefined reference to `f()` in main.cpp if i rename f.c into f.cpp everything goes just fine. What's the difference and how to handle it? Thanks

  • Converting Asynchronous Programming Model (Begin/End methods) into event-based asynchronous model?

    - by David
    Let's say I have code that uses the Asynchronous Programming Model, i.e. it provides the following methods as a group which can be used synchronously or asynchronously: public MethodResult Operation(<method params>); public IAsyncResult BeginOperation(<method params>, AsyncCallback callback, object state); public MethodResult EndOperation(IAsyncResult ar); What I want to do is wrap this code with an additional layer that will transform it into the event-driven asynchronous model, like so: public void OperationAsync(<method params>); public event OperationCompletedEventHandler OperationCompleted; public delegate void OperationCompletedEventHandler(object sender, OperationCompletedEventArgs e); Does anyone have any guidance (or links to such guidance) on how to accomplish this?

  • Drawing lines between views in a TableLayout

    - by RiThBo
    Firstly - sorry if you saw my other question which I deleted. My question was flawed. Here is a better version If I have two views, how do I draw a (straight) line between them when one of them is touched? The line needs to be dynamic so it can follow the finger until it reaches the second view where it "locks on". So, when view1 is touched a straight line is drawn which then follows the finger until it reaches view2. I created a LineView class that extends view, but I don't how to proceed. I read some tutorials but none show how to do this. I think I need to get the coordinates of both view, and then create a path which "updates" on MotionEvent. I can get the coordinates and the ids of the views I want to draw a line between, but the line that I try to draw between them either goes above it, or the line does not reach past the width and height of the view. Any advice/code/clarity would be much appreciated! Here is some code: My layout. I want to draw a line between two views contained in theTableLayout.# <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/activity_game_relative_layout" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:orientation="vertical" > <TableLayout android:layout_marginTop="35dp" android:layout_marginBottom="35dp" android:id="@+id/tableLayout1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_centerInParent="true" > <TableRow android:id="@+id/table_row_1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="5dip" > <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_1" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_2" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_3" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> </TableRow> <TableRow android:id="@+id/table_row_2" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="5dip" > <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_7" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.view.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_8" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> <com.example.dotte.DotView android:id="@+id/game_dot_9" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_marginBottom="10dp" android:layout_marginLeft="10dp" android:layout_marginRight="10dp" android:layout_marginTop="10dp" /> </TableRow> </TableLayout> </RelativeLayout> This is my LineView class. I use this to try and draw the actual line between the points. public class LineView extends View { Paint paint = new Paint(); float startingX, startingY, endingX, endingY; public LineView(Context context) { super(context); // TODO Auto-generated constructor stub paint.setColor(Color.BLACK); paint.setStrokeWidth(10); } public void setPoints(float startX, float startY, float endX, float endY) { startingX = startX; startingY = startY; endingX = endX; endingY = endY; invalidate(); } @Override public void onDraw(Canvas canvas) { canvas.drawLine(startingX, startingY, endingX, endingY, paint); } } And this is my Activity. public class Game extends Activity { DotView dv1, dv2, dv3, dv4, dv5, dv6, dv7; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_game); getWindow().getDecorView().setSystemUiVisibility( View.SYSTEM_UI_FLAG_LOW_PROFILE); findDotIds(); RelativeLayout rl = (RelativeLayout) findViewById(R.id.activity_game_relative_layout); LineView lv = new LineView(this); lv.setPoints(dv1.getLeft(), dv1.getTop(), dv7.getLeft(), dv7.getTop()); rl.addView(lv); // TODO: Get the coordinates of all the dots in the TableLayout. Use view tree observer. } private void findDotIds() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub dv1 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_1); dv2 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_2); dv3 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_3); dv4 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_4); dv5 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_5); dv6 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_6); dv7 = (DotView) findViewById(R.id.game_dot_7); } } The views I want to draw lines between are in the TableLayout.

  • java casting a list

    - by dcp
    Let's say I had: protected void performLogic(List<Object> docs) { ... } In the code where I'm going to be calling this method, I have a List<String> list. I want to call performLogic, passing this list. But it won't work because the lists are 2 different types: public void execute() { List<String> docs = new ArrayList<String>(); performLogin(docs); // won't work } I tried casting to List<Object> also, but that won't work either. So is the only way to do this is to make a new ArrayList of Object and just add the values and then pass it? Just seems cumbersome. I wondered if there was a better way to do it. Thanks.

  • How to handle runtime exception on playing audio files?

    - by Maxood
    I have a button that plays an audio file on its click listener. If the button is clicked again and again while the audio file is being played then the app crashes. What's the solution? Here is some code for reference: private OnClickListener btnMercyListener = new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { // Toast.makeText(getBaseContext(), // "Mercy audio file is being played", // Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); if (status==true) { mp.stop(); mp.release(); status = false; } else { mp = MediaPlayer.create(iMEvil.this,R.raw.mercy); //mp.start(); try{ mp.start(); status= true; //mp.release(); }catch(NullPointerException e) { Log.v("MP error",e.toString()); } } mp.setOnCompletionListener(new OnCompletionListener(){ // @Override public void onCompletion(MediaPlayer arg0) { mp.release(); status = false; } } ); } };

  • How to make the selected testcript is run in selenium grid

    - by Yui
    Hi, I can launch some remote control by using: ant launch-remote-control but I dont know how my script connect to hub? I set up ant, selenium-grid on the same computer. I have an grid.dll which is written by C# and run through NUnit. The test data is read from xml file (ValidData.xml) The example code is below : using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System; using System.Xml; using System.Text.RegularExpressions; using System.Threading; using NUnit.Framework; using Selenium; namespace Grid { public class Class1 { //User defined private string strURL = "http://gmail.com/"; private string[] strBrowser = new string[3] { "*iehta", "*firefox", "*safari" }; string hubAddress = "192.168.20.131"; // IP of my computer // System defined private ISelenium selenium; private StringBuilder verificationErrors; [SetUp] public void SetupTest() { selenium = new DefaultSelenium(hubAddress, 4444, this.strBrowser[1], this.strURL);// do i need to identify browser when I defined it when launching a remote control selenium.Start(); verificationErrors = new StringBuilder(); } [TearDown] public void TeardownTest() { try { selenium.Stop(); } catch (Exception) { // Ignore errors if unable to close the browser } Assert.AreEqual("", verificationErrors.ToString()); } private string[] name; [Test] public void LoginPassedTest() { try { XmlDocument doc = new XmlDocument(); XmlNode docNode; doc.Load("ValidData.xml"); docNode = doc["TestCase"]; foreach (XmlNode node in docNode) { selenium.Open("/"); selenium.WaitForPageToLoad("50000"); selenium.Type("Email", node["username"].InnerText); selenium.Type("Passwd", node["password"].InnerText); selenium.Click("signIn"); selenium.WaitForPageToLoad("100000"); name = (selenium.GetText("//div[@id='guser']/nobr/b").Split('@')); try { Assert.AreEqual(node["username"].InnerText, name[0]); Assert.AreEqual("Sign out", selenium.GetText(":r6")); } catch (AssertionException e) { verificationErrors.Append(e.Message); } selenium.Click(":r6"); } } catch (AssertionException e) { verificationErrors.Append(e.Message); } } } } Step I run this script: 1.I build that script into DLL 2.I start hub by using command "ant lauch-hub" 3.I start 2 remote controls by using command : ant -Dport=5566 -Denvironment="*chrome" launch-remote-control ant -Dport=5577 -Denvironment="*iexplore" launch-remote-control 4.Then I open Nunit and load DLL (code above) and run 5.The NUNit doesnot respond anything. I think there are some missing things but I dont know. How can the test script (DLL) know which is sequence of remote control is selected to run the test???? Please help me!! Thank you so much Yui.

    I'm tring to use webcam api with asp.net and C#. I included all the library and references I needed for that. the original code I'm use was for windows application and I'm trying to convert it to asp.net web application. • Custom Model Binding of IEnumerable Properties in ASP.Net MVC 2

    - by Doug Lampe
    MVC 2 provides a GREAT feature for dealing with enumerable types.  Let's say you have an object with a parent/child relationship and you want to allow users to modify multiple children at the same time.  You can simply use the following syntax for any indexed enumerables (arrays, generic lists, etc.) and then your values will bind to your enumerable model properties. 1: <% using (Html.BeginForm("TestModelParameter", "Home")) 2: { %> 3: < table > 4: < tr >< th >ID</th><th>Name</th><th>Description</th></tr> 5: <% for (int i = 0; i < Model.Items.Count; i++) 6: { %> 7: < tr > 8: < td > 9: <%= i %> 10: </ td > 11: < td > 12: <%= Html.TextBoxFor(m => m.Items[i].Name) %> 13: </ td > 14: < td > 15: <%= Model.Items[i].Description %> 16: </ td > 17: </ tr > 18: <% } %> 19: </ table > 20: < input type ="submit" /> 21: <% } %> Then just update your model either by passing it into your action method as a parameter or explicitly with UpdateModel/TryUpdateModel. 1: public ActionResult TestTryUpdate() 2: { 3: ContainerModel model = new ContainerModel(); 4: TryUpdateModel(model); 5:   6: return View("Test", model); 7: } 8:   9: public ActionResult TestModelParameter(ContainerModel model) 10: { 11: return View("Test", model); 12: } Simple right?  Well, not quite.  The problem is the DefaultModelBinder and how it sets properties.  In this case our model has a property that is a generic list (Items).  The first bad thing the model binder does is create a new instance of the list.  This can be fixed by making the property truly read-only by removing the set accessor.  However this won't help because this behaviour continues.  As the model binder iterates through the items to "set" their values, it creates new instances of them as well.  This means you lose any information not passed via the UI to your controller so in the examplel above the "Description" property would be blank for each item after the form posts. One solution for this is custom model binding.  I have put together a solution which allows you to retain the structure of your model.  Model binding is a somewhat advanced concept so you may need to do some additional research to really understand what is going on here, but the code is fairly simple.  First we will create a binder for the parent object which will retain the state of the parent as well as some information on which children have already been bound. 1: public class ContainerModelBinder : DefaultModelBinder 2: { 3: /// <summary> 4: /// Gets an instance of the model to be used to bind child objects. 5: /// </summary> 6: public ContainerModel Model { get; private set; } 7:   8: /// <summary> 9: /// Gets a list which will be used to track which items have been bound. 10: /// </summary> 11: public List<ItemModel> BoundItems { get; private set; } 12:   13: public ContainerModelBinder() 14: { 15: BoundItems = new List<ItemModel>(); 16: } 17:   18: protected override object CreateModel(ControllerContext controllerContext, ModelBindingContext bindingContext, Type modelType) 19: { 20: // Set the Model property so child binders can find children. 21: Model = base.CreateModel(controllerContext, bindingContext, modelType) as ContainerModel; 22:   23: return Model; 24: } 25: } Next we will create the child binder and have it point to the parent binder to get instances of the child objects.  Note that this only works if there is only one property of type ItemModel in the parent class since the property to find the item in the parent is hard coded. 1: public class ItemModelBinder : DefaultModelBinder 2: { 3: /// <summary> 4: /// Gets the parent binder so we can find objects in the parent's collection 5: /// </summary> 6: public ContainerModelBinder ParentBinder { get; private set; } 7: 8: public ItemModelBinder(ContainerModelBinder containerModelBinder) 9: { 10: ParentBinder = containerModelBinder; 11: } 12:   13: protected override object CreateModel(ControllerContext controllerContext, ModelBindingContext bindingContext, Type modelType) 14: { 15: // Find the item in the parent collection and add it to the bound items list. 16: ItemModel item = ParentBinder.Model.Items.FirstOrDefault(i => !ParentBinder.BoundItems.Contains(i)); 17: ParentBinder.BoundItems.Add(item); 18: 19: return item; 20: } 21: } Finally, we will register these binders in Global.asax.cs so they will be used to bind the classes. 1: protected void Application_Start() 2: { 3: AreaRegistration.RegisterAllAreas(); 4:   5: ContainerModelBinder containerModelBinder = new ContainerModelBinder(); 6: ModelBinders.Binders.Add(typeof(ContainerModel), containerModelBinder); 7: ModelBinders.Binders.Add(typeof(ItemModel), new ItemModelBinder(containerModelBinder)); 8:   9: RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); 10: } I'm sure some of my fellow geeks will comment that this could be done more efficiently by simply rewriting some of the methods of the default model binder to get the same desired behavior.  I like my method shown here because it extends the binder class instead of modifying it so it minimizes the potential for unforseen problems. In a future post (if I ever get around to it) I will explore creating a generic version of these binders.

  • Xpages - Get number of active sessions

    - by Jairo
    How do I get the number of active sessions in Xpage. I'm trying to use managed beans but it just returns a weird string. Here's the simple code: import javax.servlet.http.HttpSessionEvent; import javax.servlet.http.HttpSessionListener; public class SessionCounterListener implements HttpSessionListener { private static int totalActiveSessions; public static int getTotalActiveSessions(){ return totalActiveSessions | 0; } public void sessionCreated(HttpSessionEvent arg0) { totalActiveSessions++; System.out.println("sessionCreated - add one session into counter"); } public void sessionDestroyed(HttpSessionEvent arg0) { totalActiveSessions--; System.out.println("sessionDestroyed - deduct one session from counter"); } } I got this from here. But when I call SessionCounterListener.getTotalActiveSessions(), it only returns a weird string, example com.gs3.beans.SessionCounterListener@46c446c4. Please help me. Thanks a lot!

  • touchesEnded not being called??? or randomly being called

    - by Rob
    If I lift my finger up off the first touch, then it will recognize the next touch just fine. It's only when I hold my first touch down continuously and then try and touch a different area with a different finger at the same time. It will then incorrectly register that second touch as being from the first touch again. Update It has something to do with touchesEnded not being called until the very LAST touch has ended (it doesn't care if you already had 5 other touches end before you finally let go of the last one... it calls them all to end once the very last touch ends) - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch* touch = [touches anyObject]; NSString* filename = [listOfStuff objectAtIndex:[touch view].tag]; // do something with the filename now } - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { ITouch* touch = [touches anyObject]; NSString* buttonPressed = [listOfStuff objectAtIndex:[touch view].tag]; // do something with this info now }

  • Dynamicdata Validation Exception Message Caught in JavaScript, not DynamicValidator

    - by Perplexed
    I have a page here with a few list views on it that are all bound to Linq data sources and they seem to be working just fine. I want to add validation such that when a checkbox (IsVoid on the object) is checked, comments must be entered (VoidedComments on the object). Here's the bound object's OnValidate method: partial void OnValidate(ChangeAction action) { if (action == ChangeAction.Update) { if (_IsVoid) { string comments = this.VoidedComments; if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(this._VoidedComments)) { throw new ValidationException("Voided Comments are Required to Void an Error"); } } } } Despite there being a dynamic validator on the page referencing the same ValidationGroup as the dynamic control, when the exception fires, it's caught in JavaScript and the debugger wants to break in. The message is never delivered to the UI as expected. Any thoughts as to What's going on?

  • Best practice for controlling a busy GUI

    - by MPelletier
    Suppose a GUI (C#, WinForms) that performs work and is busy for several seconds. It will still have buttons that need to remain accessible, labels that will change, progress bars, etc. I'm using this approach currently to change the GUI when busy: //Generic delegates private delegate void SetControlValue<T>(T newValue); //... public void SetStatusLabelMessage(string message) { if (StatusLabel.InvokeRequired) StatusLabel.BeginInvoke(new SetControlValue<string>(SetStatusLabelMessage, object[] { message }); else StatusLabel.Text = message; } I've been using this like it's going out of style, yet I'm not quite certain this is proper. Creating the delegate (and reusing it) makes the whole thing cleaner (for me, at least), but I must know that I'm not creating a monster...

  • bluetooth file send.

I tried buttonclick event using the OBEX but i don't understand this is my example code: using InTheHand.Net; using InTheHand.Net.Sockets; using InTheHand.Net.Bluetooth; namespace BluetoothIntheHand { public partial class Form2 : Form { private Guid service = BluetoothService.DialupNetworking; private BluetoothClient bluetoothClient; public Form2() { InitializeComponent(); } private void btnSearch_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { BluetoothRadio.PrimaryRadio.Mode = RadioMode.Discoverable; BluetoothRadio myRadio = BluetoothRadio.PrimaryRadio; lblSearch.Text = "" + myRadio.LocalAddress.ToString(); bluetoothClient = new BluetoothClient(); Cursor.Current = Cursors.WaitCursor; BluetoothDeviceInfo[] bluetoothDeviceInfo = { }; bluetoothDeviceInfo = bluetoothClient.DiscoverDevices(10); comboBox1.DataSource = bluetoothDeviceInfo; comboBox1.DisplayMember = "DeviceName"; comboBox1.ValueMember = "DeviceAddress"; comboBox1.Focus(); Cursor.Current = Cursors.Default; } private void btnConnect_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (comboBox1.SelectedValue != null) { try { bluetoothClient.Connect(new BluetoothEndPoint((BluetoothAddress)comboBox1.SelectedValue, service)); MessageBox.Show("Connected"); } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show(ex.Message); } } } private void btnSend_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { bluetoothClient.Connect(new BluetoothEndPoint((BluetoothAddress)comboBox1.SelectedValue, service)); String addr = "112233445566"; Uri uri = new Uri("obex://"+@"SendTest.txt"); ObexWebRequest req= new ObexWebRequest(uri); ObexWebResponse rsp; } I found the guide but don't really know how to convert to C# ' The host part of the URI is the device address, e.g. IrDAAddress.ToString(), ' and the file part is the OBEX object name. Dim addr As String = "112233445566" Dim uri As New Uri("obex://" & addr & "/HelloWorld2.txt") Dim req As New ObexWebRequest(uri) Using content As Stream = req.GetRequestStream() ' Using a StreamWriter to write text to the stream... Using wtr As New StreamWriter(content) wtr.WriteLine("Hello World GetRequestStream") wtr.WriteLine("Hello World GetRequestStream 2") wtr.Flush() ' Set the Length header value req.ContentLength = content.Length End Using ' In this case closing the StreamWriter also closed the Stream, but ...   • How do I test SendInput in c#

  • How to configure maximum number of transport channels in WCF using basicHttpBinding?

    - by Hemant
    Consider following code which is essentially a WCF host: [ServiceContract (Namespace = "http://www.mightycalc.com")] interface ICalculator { [OperationContract] int Add (int aNum1, int aNum2); } [ServiceBehavior (InstanceContextMode = InstanceContextMode.PerCall)] class Calculator: ICalculator { public int Add (int aNum1, int aNum2) { Thread.Sleep (2000); //Simulate a lengthy operation return aNum1 + aNum2; } } class Program { static void Main (string[] args) { try { using (var serviceHost = new ServiceHost (typeof (Calculator))) { var httpBinding = new BasicHttpBinding (BasicHttpSecurityMode.None); serviceHost.AddServiceEndpoint (typeof (ICalculator), httpBinding, "http://172.16.9.191:2221/calc"); serviceHost.Open (); Console.WriteLine ("Service is running. ENJOY!!!"); Console.WriteLine ("Type 'stop' and hit enter to stop the service."); Console.ReadLine (); if (serviceHost.State == CommunicationState.Opened) serviceHost.Close (); } } catch (Exception e) { Console.WriteLine (e); Console.ReadLine (); } } } Also the WCF client program is: class Program { static int COUNT = 0; static Timer timer = null; static void Main (string[] args) { var threads = new Thread[10]; for (int i = 0; i < threads.Length; i++) { threads[i] = new Thread (Calculate); threads[i].Start (null); } timer = new Timer (o => Console.WriteLine ("Count: {0}", COUNT), null, 1000, 1000); Console.ReadLine (); timer.Dispose (); } static void Calculate (object state) { var c = new CalculatorClient ("BasicHttpBinding_ICalculator"); c.Open (); while (true) { try { var sum = c.Add (2, 3); Interlocked.Increment (ref COUNT); } catch (Exception ex) { Console.WriteLine ("Error on thread {0}: {1}", Thread.CurrentThread.Name, ex.GetType ()); break; } } c.Close (); } } Basically, I am creating 10 proxy clients and then repeatedly calling Add service method. Now if I run both applications and observe opened TCP connections using netstat, I find that: If both client and server are running on same machine, number of tcp connections are equal to number of proxy objects. It means all requests are being served in parallel. Which is good. If I run server on a separate machine, I observed that maximum 2 TCP connections are opened regardless of the number of proxy objects I create. Only 2 requests run in parallel. It hurts the processing speed badly. If I switch to net.tcp binding, everything works fine (a separate TCP connection for each proxy object even if they are running on different machines). I am very confused and unable to make the basicHttpBinding use more TCP connections. I know it is a long question, but please help!

  • iPad leak - NSPushAutoreleasePool

    - by Tim Bowen
    We are getting a sizable leak (16kb) that is proving very difficult to eliminate. The responsible library is Foundation and the Responsible frame is NSPushAutoreleasePool. This leak does not appear on the iPhone, only the iPad. We get the following stack trace: 9 libSystem.B.dylib thread_assign_default 8 libSystem.B.dylib _pthread_start 7 WebCore RunWebThread(void*) 6 CoreFoundation CFRunLoopRunInMode 5 CoreFoundation CFRunLoopRunSpecific 4 CoreFoundation __CFRunLoopDoObservers 3 WebCore WebRunLoopLock(__CFRunLoopObserver*, unsigned long, void*) 2 Foundation NSPushAutoreleasePool 1 Foundation _NSAPAddPage 0 libSystem.B.dylib malloc We're getting a similar one in the frame NSAutoReleasePool. We've checked everywhere in the code we create an autoreleasepool to make sure we're releasing it. Since none of this is our code I'm not sure how to proceed. Thanks in advance.

  • How to get rid of previous reflection when reflecting a UIImageView (with changing pictures)?

    - by epale
    Hi everyone, I have managed to use the reflection sample app from apple to create a reflection from a UIImageView. But the problem is that when I change the picture inside the UIImageView, the reflection from the previous displayed picture remains on the screen. The new reflection on the next picture then overlaps the previous reflection. How do I ensure that the previous reflection is removed when I change to the next picture? Thank you so much. I hope my question is not too basic. Here is the codes which i used so far: //reflection self.view.autoresizesSubviews = YES; self.view.userInteractionEnabled = YES; // create the reflection view CGRect reflectionRect = currentView.frame; // the reflection is a fraction of the size of the view being reflected reflectionRect.size.height = reflectionRect.size.height * kDefaultReflectionFraction; // and is offset to be at the bottom of the view being reflected reflectionRect = CGRectOffset(reflectionRect, 0, currentView.frame.size.height); reflectionView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:reflectionRect]; // determine the size of the reflection to create NSUInteger reflectionHeight = currentView.bounds.size.height * kDefaultReflectionFraction; // create the reflection image, assign it to the UIImageView and add the image view to the containerView reflectionView.image = [self reflectedImage:currentView withHeight:reflectionHeight]; reflectionView.alpha = kDefaultReflectionOpacity; [self.view addSubview:reflectionView]; //reflection */ Then the codes below are used to form the reflection: CGImageRef CreateGradientImage(int pixelsWide, int pixelsHigh) { CGImageRef theCGImage = NULL; // gradient is always black-white and the mask must be in the gray colorspace CGColorSpaceRef colorSpace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceGray(); // create the bitmap context CGContextRef gradientBitmapContext = CGBitmapContextCreate(nil, pixelsWide, pixelsHigh, 8, 0, colorSpace, kCGImageAlphaNone); // define the start and end grayscale values (with the alpha, even though // our bitmap context doesn't support alpha the gradient requires it) CGFloat colors[] = {0.0, 1.0, 1.0, 1.0}; // create the CGGradient and then release the gray color space CGGradientRef grayScaleGradient = CGGradientCreateWithColorComponents(colorSpace, colors, NULL, 2); CGColorSpaceRelease(colorSpace); // create the start and end points for the gradient vector (straight down) CGPoint gradientStartPoint = CGPointZero; CGPoint gradientEndPoint = CGPointMake(0, pixelsHigh); // draw the gradient into the gray bitmap context CGContextDrawLinearGradient(gradientBitmapContext, grayScaleGradient, gradientStartPoint, gradientEndPoint, kCGGradientDrawsAfterEndLocation); CGGradientRelease(grayScaleGradient); // convert the context into a CGImageRef and release the context theCGImage = CGBitmapContextCreateImage(gradientBitmapContext); CGContextRelease(gradientBitmapContext); // return the imageref containing the gradient return theCGImage; } CGContextRef MyCreateBitmapContext(int pixelsWide, int pixelsHigh) { CGColorSpaceRef colorSpace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB(); // create the bitmap context CGContextRef bitmapContext = CGBitmapContextCreate (nil, pixelsWide, pixelsHigh, 8, 0, colorSpace, // this will give us an optimal BGRA format for the device: (kCGBitmapByteOrder32Little | kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedFirst)); CGColorSpaceRelease(colorSpace); return bitmapContext; } (UIImage *)reflectedImage:(UIImageView *)fromImage withHeight:(NSUInteger)height { if (!height) return nil; // create a bitmap graphics context the size of the image CGContextRef mainViewContentContext = MyCreateBitmapContext(fromImage.bounds.size.width, height); // offset the context - // This is necessary because, by default, the layer created by a view for caching its content is flipped. // But when you actually access the layer content and have it rendered it is inverted. Since we're only creating // a context the size of our reflection view (a fraction of the size of the main view) we have to translate the // context the delta in size, and render it. // CGFloat translateVertical= fromImage.bounds.size.height - height; CGContextTranslateCTM(mainViewContentContext, 0, -translateVertical); // render the layer into the bitmap context CALayer *layer = fromImage.layer; [layer renderInContext:mainViewContentContext]; // create CGImageRef of the main view bitmap content, and then release that bitmap context CGImageRef mainViewContentBitmapContext = CGBitmapContextCreateImage(mainViewContentContext); CGContextRelease(mainViewContentContext); // create a 2 bit CGImage containing a gradient that will be used for masking the // main view content to create the 'fade' of the reflection. The CGImageCreateWithMask // function will stretch the bitmap image as required, so we can create a 1 pixel wide gradient CGImageRef gradientMaskImage = CreateGradientImage(1, height); // create an image by masking the bitmap of the mainView content with the gradient view // then release the pre-masked content bitmap and the gradient bitmap CGImageRef reflectionImage = CGImageCreateWithMask(mainViewContentBitmapContext, gradientMaskImage); CGImageRelease(mainViewContentBitmapContext); CGImageRelease(gradientMaskImage); // convert the finished reflection image to a UIImage UIImage *theImage = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:reflectionImage]; // image is retained by the property setting above, so we can release the original CGImageRelease(reflectionImage); return theImage; } */

  • Adding UIBarButtonItem to UINav..Controller

    - by mlecho
    i am not sure what i am missing here. I Have a custom UINavigationController and i am trying to add a persistant UIBarButtonItem to the bar. -(void)viewDidLoad { self.navigationBar.barStyle = UIBarStyleBlack; UIBarButtonItem *bbi = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"Nope..." style:UIBarButtonItemStyleBordered target:self action:@selector(goBack:)]; self.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem =bbi; [bbi release]; } -(void)goBack:(id)sender { NSLog(@"go back now"); } what am i missing here? - BTW, i do not want to/ will not use IB.

  • error C2784: Could not deduce template argument

    - by atch
    Hi guys, Still fighting with templates. In this example, despite the fact that is copied straight from a book I'm getting the following error message: Error 2 error C2784: 'IsClassT<T>::One IsClassT<T>::test(int C::* )' : could not deduce template argument for 'int C::* ' from 'int'. This is an example from a book Templates - The Complete Guide. (I work with Visual Studio 2010 RC). template<typename T> class IsClassT { private: typedef char One; typedef struct { char a[2]; } Two; template<typename C> static One test(int C::*); template<typename C> static Two test(…); public: enum { Yes = sizeof(IsClassT<T>::test<T>(0)) == 1 }; enum { No = !Yes }; }; class MyClass { }; struct MyStruct { }; union MyUnion { }; void myfunc() { } enum E {e1} e; // check by passing type as template argument template <typename T> void check() { if (IsClassT<T>::Yes) { std::cout << " IsClassT " << std::endl; } else { std::cout << " !IsClassT " << std::endl; } } // check by passing type as function call argument template <typename T> void checkT (T) { check<T>(); } int main() { /*std::cout << "int: "; check<int>(); */ std::cout << "MyClass: "; check<MyClass>(); } And although I know roughly what's going on in this example I cannot fix this error. Thanks for help.

  • MbUnit (gallio) and Visual Studio.Net Tests Not Completing or Debugging

    - by Davy
    Hi I'm using Gallio\MbUnit 3.1 with ReSharper and Visual Studio 2008. Everything is working well except this type of test: [Test] [Row("test@badEmail@_test.com")] [Row("test@badEmail@_test.")] public void IsValidEmail_Invalid_Emails_Should_Return_False(string invalidEmail) { Assert.IsFalse(AppHelper.IsValidEmail(invalidEmail), "Email validation failed for " + invalidEmail); } The test doesn't complete or go in to debug mode only when I pass in a parameter E.g. 'string invalidEmail'. If I remove that prameter it seems to work normally. It will run the test if I have: [Test] public void IsValidEmail_Invalid_Emails_Should_Return_False() { var invalidName = test@badEmail@_test.com"; Assert.IsFalse(AppHelper.IsValidEmail(invalidEmail), "Email validation failed for " + invalidEmail); } I appreciate that there may be better ways to achieve this test but I'm trying to work my way through a book and this is how it's explaining things. Any help is appreciated. Davy
