  • C# StringBuilder question

    - by andrew
    in a C# file i have a class Archiver { [DllImport("Archiver.dll")] public static extern void archive(string data, StringBuilder response); } string data is an input, and StringBuilder response is where the function writes something the archive function prototype (written in C) looks like this: void archive(char * dataChr, char * outChr); and it receives a string in dataChr, and then does a strcpy(outChr,"some big text"); from C# i call it something like this: string message = "some text here"; StringBuilder response = new StringBuilder(10000); Archiver.archive(message,response); this works, but the problem, as you might see is that i give a value to the StringBuilder size, but the archive function might give back a (way) larger text than the size i've given to my StringBuilder. any way to fix this?

  • How do I refactor this IEnumerable<T> to be thread-safe?

    - by DayOne
    I am looking at Skeet's AtomicEnumerable but I'm not sure how to integrate it into my current IEnumerable exmaple below (http://msmvps.com/blogs/jon_skeet/archive/2009/10/23/iterating-atomically.aspx) Basically I want to foreach my blahs type in a thread-safe way. thanks public sealed class Blahs : IEnumerable<string> { private readonly IList<string> _data = new List<string>() { "blah1", "blah2", "blah3" }; public IEnumerator<string> GetEnumerator() { return _data.GetEnumerator(); } IEnumerator IEnumerable.GetEnumerator() { return GetEnumerator(); } }

  • Java: how to read BufferedReader faster

    - by Cata
    Hello, I want to optimize this code: InputStream is = rp.getEntity().getContent(); BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(is)); String text = ""; String aux = ""; while ((aux = reader.readLine()) != null) { text += aux; } The thing is that i don't know how to read the content of the bufferedreader and copy it in a String faster than what I have above. I need to spend as little time as possible. Thank you

  • Regexp look-behind to match internet speeds

    - by Sandman
    So the user may search for "10 mbit" after which I want to capture the "10" so I can use it in a speed-search rather than a string-search. This isn't a problem, the below regexp does this fine: if (preg_match("/(\d+)\smbit/", $string)){ ... } But, the user may search for something like "10/10 mbit" or "10-100 mbit". I don't want to match those with the above regexp - they should be handled in another fashion. So I would like a regexp that matches "10 mbit" if the number is all-numeric as a whole word (i.e. contained by whitespace, newline or lineend/linestart) Using lookbehind, I did this: if (preg_match("#(?<!/)(\d+)\s+mbit#i", $string)){ Just to catch those that doesn't have "/" before them, but this matched true for this string: "10/10 mbit" so I'm obviously doing something wrong here, but what?

  • Rewrite this function as DB query?

    - by aLk
    I'm cleaning up my code, should i change the following function to a MySQL query? If so what would be a nice MySQL function to achieve this functionality? public ArrayList getNewTitles(ArrayList candidateTitles, ArrayList existingTitles) { ArrayList newTitles = new ArrayList(); Movie movie = new Movie(); boolean isNew = true; for(int i=0; i<candidateTitles.size(); i++) { for(int j=0; j<existingTitles.size(); j++) { movie = (Movie)existingTitles.get(j); if(((String)candidateTitles.get(i)).equals(movie.getRawTitle())) { isNew = false; } } if(isNew == true) { System.out.println("newTitle for crawling: " + (String)candidateTitles.get(i)); newTitles.add((String)candidateTitles.get(i)); } else { System.out.println("candidate binned: " + (String)candidateTitles.get(i)); } isNew = true; } return newTitles; }

  • Pass complex objects to MVC Get parameters

    - by VJ
    I am wanting to pass something like the following to my view from my controller via GET not POST: public class MyDTO { public string val1 { get; set; } public string val2 { get; set; } public MyObject obj { get; set; } } public class MyObject { public int SomeInt { get; set; } public string ACoolValue { get; set; } public string YetAnotherCoolValue { get; set; } } And then the controller would like like this. (Note it is a GET): public ActionResult MyView(MyDTO dto) { return View(dto) } The problem is that the instance of MyObject is coming back as null, where val1 and val2 have data. Has anyone run across this?

  • Does my function right on python?

    - by Ali Ismayilov
    Write a function which takes a string argument, and creates and returns an Employee object containing details of the employee specified by the string. The string should be assumed to have the format 12345 25000 Consultant Bart Simpson The first three items in the line will be the payroll number, salary and job title and the rest of the line will be the name. There will be no spaces in the job title but there may be one or more spaces in the name. My function: def __str__(self): return format(self.payroll, "d") + format(self.salary, "d") + ' ' \ + self.jobtitle + self.name

  • Why does grails use hsqldb when I ask for mysql?

    - by John
    I'm following the racetrack example from Jason Rudolph's book at InfoQ, using grails-1.2.1. I got up to the part where I was to switch from hsqldb to mysql. I think I've deleted every reference to hsqldb in the DataSource.groovy file, but I get an exception and the stack trace shows it's still using hsqldb. DataSource.groovy dataSource { boolean pooled = true String driverClassName = "com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" String url = "jdbc:mysql://localhost/dfpc2" String dbCreate = "create" String username = "dfpc2" String password = "dfpc2" dialect = org.hibernate.dialect.MySQL5InnoDBDialect } hibernate { cache.use_second_level_cache=true cache.use_query_cache=true cache.provider_class='net.sf.ehcache.hibernate.EhCacheProvider' } // environment specific settings environments { development { } test { } production { } } When I grails run-app it all starts up with no errors. I can navigate to the home page. But when I click on one of the links, I get a stack trace: java.sql.SQLException: Table not found in statement [select this_.id as id0_0_, this_.version as version0_0_, this_.name as name0_0_, this_.variant as variant0_0_ from domainObject this_ limit ?] at org.hsqldb.jdbc.Util.throwError(Unknown Source) at org.hsqldb.jdbc.jdbcPreparedStatement.<init>(Unknown Source) at org.hsqldb.jdbc.jdbcConnection.prepareStatement(Unknown Source) at dfpc2.domainObjectController$_closure2.doCall(script1269434425504953491149.groovy:13) at dfpc2.domainObjectController$_closure2.doCall(script1269434425504953491149.groovy) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) My mysql database shows no tables created. (I don't think groovy's connected to mysql yet.) Things I've checked: mysql-connector-java-5.1.6.jar is in lib directory. I've tried grails clean I tried putting the dataSource info in the development environment (I haven't graduated to test or prod yet), but it seemed to make no difference. The stdout shows I'm using development env. I've googled for solutions, but the only solution I've found is when people don't change the test or production environments.

  • Regex problem ...

    - by carlos
    hello i have the next regex Dim origen As String = " /c /p:""c:\mis doc umentos\mis imagenes construida\archivo.txt"" /cid:45 423 /z:65 /a:23 /m:39 /t:45rt " Dim str As String = "(^|\s)/p:""\w:(\\(\w+[\s]*\w+)+)+\\\w+.\w+""(\s|$)" Dim ar As Integer Dim getfile As New Regex(str) Dim mgetfile As MatchCollection = getfile.Matches(origen) ar = mgetfile.Count When i evaluate this it works, and gets the /p:""c:\mis doc umentos\mis imagenes construida\archivo.txt"" that basically is the path to a file. But if I change the origen string to Dim origen As String = " /c /p:""c:\mis doc umentos\mis imagenes construida\archivo.txt""/cid:45 423 /z:65 /a:23 /m:39 /t:45rt " Check that the end of the file is follow by "/cid:45" whitchs makes de patter invalid, but insted of getting a mgetfile.count = 0 the program is block, if i make a debug I got a property evaluation failed. Thanks for your comments !!!

  • wpf treeview does not show child objects

    - by gangt
    I have an object with child object(s) and I load it using linq. And I assign it to a treeView's itemssource. treeView.DisplayMemberPath = "Name"; treeView.ItemsSource = tasks; It shows only the parent nodes (task.name), I couldn't figure out how to add children (TaskItems.name). All the examples show HierarchicalData in xaml. I need to do it in code-behind, just like the above code. Is it possible? public class Task { public int Id; public string Name; public bool IsActive; public List<TaskItem> TaskItems = new List<TaskItem>(); } public class TaskItem { public int TaskId; public string Name; public string Value; } -------------- var tasks1 = from t in xd.Descendants("taskheader") select new Task { Id = (int)t.Element("id"), Name = t.Element("name").Value, IsActive = t.Element("isactive").Value == "1", TaskItems = t.Elements("taskdetail").Select(e => new TaskItem { TaskId = (int)e.Element("taskid"), Name = (string)e.Element("name"), Value = (string)e.Element("value"), }).ToList() }; -------------- List<Task> tasks = new List<Task>(); tasks = tasks1;

  • How to Initialise a static Map in Java

    - by fahdshariff
    How would you initialise a static Map in Java? Method one: Static initialiser Method two: instance initialiser (anonymous subclass) or some other method? What are the pros and cons of each? Here is an example illustrating two methods: import java.util.HashMap; import java.util.Map; public class Test { private static final Map<Integer, String> myMap = new HashMap<Integer, String>(); static { myMap.put(1, "one"); myMap.put(2, "two"); } private static final Map<Integer, String> myMap2 = new HashMap<Integer, String>(){ { put(1, "one"); put(2, "two"); } }; }

  • Why do browsers encode special characters differently with ajax requests?

    - by Andrei Oniga
    I have a web application that reads the values of a few input fields (alphanumeric) and constructs a very simple xml that is passes to the server, using jQuery's $.ajax() method. The template for that xml is: <request> <session>[some-string]</session> <space>[some-string]</space> <plot>[some-string]</plot> ... </request> Sending such requests to the server when the inputs contain Finnish diacritical characters (such as ä or ö) raises a problem in terms of character encoding with different browsers. For instance, if I add the word Käyttötarkoitus" in one of the inputs, here's how Chrome and Firefox send EXACTLY the same request to the server: Chrome: <request> <session>{string-hidden}</session> <space>2080874</space> <plot>Käyttötarkoitus</plot> ... </request> FF 12.0: <request> <session>{string-hidden}</session> <space>2080874</space> <plot>Käyttötarkoitus</plot> ... </request> And here is the code fragment that I use to send the requests: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: url, dataType: 'xml;charset=UTF-8', data: xml, success: function(xml) { // }, error: function(jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) { // } }); Why do I get different encodings and how do I get rid of this difference? I need to fix this problem because it's causing other on the server-side.

  • Java/Hibernate using interfaces over the entities.

    - by Dennetik
    I am using annoted Hibernate, and I'm wondering whether the following is possible. I have to set up a series of interfaces representing the objects that can be persisted, and an interface for the main database class containing several operations for persisting these objects (... an API for the database). Below that, I have to implement these interfaces, and persist them with Hibernate. So I'll have, for example: public interface Data { public String getSomeString(); public void setSomeString(String someString); } @Entity public class HbnData implements Data, Serializable { @Column(name = "some_string") private String someString; public String getSomeString() { return this.someString; } public void setSomeString(String someString) { this.someString = someString; } } Now, this works fine, sort of. The trouble comes when I want nested entities. The interface of what I'd want is easy enough: public interface HasData { public Data getSomeData(); public void setSomeData(Data someData); } But when I implement the class, I can follow the interface, as below, and get an error from Hibernate saying it doesn't know the class "Data". @Entity public class HbnHasData implements HasData, Serializable { @OneToOne(cascade = CascadeType.ALL) private Data someData; public Data getSomeData() { return this.someData; } public void setSomeData(Data someData) { this.someData = someData; } } The simple change would be to change the type from "Data" to "HbnData", but that would obviously break the interface implementation, and thus make the abstraction impossible. Can anyone explain to me how to implement this in a way that it will work with Hibernate?

Exception message is: The current build operation (build key Build Key[UnityConsole.NullLogger, null]) failed: The parameter v could not be resolved when attempting to call constructor UnityConsole.NullLogger(System.String v). To get it to work, I'll have to do: ILogger nullLogger = container.Resolve("NullLogger"); Where is this behavior documented? Arun

  • Interacting With Class Objects in Ruby

    - by michaelmichael
    How can I interact with objects I've created based on their given attributes in Ruby? To give some context, I'm parsing a text file that might have several hundred entries like the following: ASIN: B00137RNIQ -------------------------Status Info------------------------- Upload created: 2010-04-09 09:33:45 Upload state: Imported Upload state id: 3 I can parse the above with regular expressions and use the data to create new objects in a "Product" class: class Product attr_reader :asin, :creation_date, :upload_state, :upload_state_id def initialize(asin, creation_date, upload_state, upload_state_id) @asin = asin @creation_date = creation_date @upload_state = upload_state @upload_state_id = upload_state_id end end After parsing, the raw text from above will be stored in an object that look like this: [#<Product:0x00000101006ef8 @asin="B00137RNIQ", @creation_date="2010-04-09 09:33:45 ", @upload_state="Imported ", @upload_state_id="3">] How can I then interact with the newly created class objects? For example, how might I pull all the creation dates for objects with an upload_state_id of 3? I get the feeling I'm going to have to write class methods, but I'm a bit stuck on where to start.

  • Delphi JavaDoc Parser

    - by Christian Sciberras
    I need to parse JavaDoc (documentation) comment syntax with Delphi 7. It is well known in the java world as "JavaDoc", but I'm actually doing this for PHP, ie, parsing JavaDoc in some PHP code. Call it PHPDoc if you want to. To see how these comments work, you can see RAD IDEs like NetBeans etc. Example of JavaDoc for addition function: /** * Adds to numbers together. * @param integer $a The first number. * @param integer $b The second number. * @return integer The resulting number. */ function add($a,$b){ return $a+$b; } Please note that the parser need not be full, ie, parsing all of the PHP code. I mean, it's perfectly fine if it accepted the comment text only as input. Cheers, Chris.
