  • Retrieve Storage and Programs Memory on .NET Compact Framework 2 and WM5

    Hi! I've been looking for quite a while already and still couldn't find a solution for this. All I need is to retrieve the memory levels and percentage of use. OpenNETCF has a MemoryManagement class, which seems to encapsulates a data structure returned through a P/Invoke or something like that, and it gives me the TotalPhysicalMemory, TotalVirtualMemory, AvailablePhisicalMemory and such, but those do not directly relate to Storage and Programs, nor could I find a way to "convert" these attributes to those I need. Has anyone there already done this? It must be easy, I just need the very same values available on Settings System Memory. Thanks in advance! edit: I'm already being able to retrieve Available and total Storage memory through the GetDiskFreeSpaceEx P/Invoke. Since Storage and Programs memory seem to rely into the same hardware, maybe it's just a case of finding out what path to pass as the method's first parameter.

  • asp.net page life-cycle question

    I have a Table and a Button. Table's cells have controls LiteralControl and CheckBox. I check some fields and then by click on button i remove these fields from database. On event Page_PreRender i clear Table and then fill it with updated data. Then it shows me Table with updated data. But if i check fields of table again and do a click on a button it wont do what i expected. In Page_Load event i see that it dont save properties of controls. Checked CheckBox controls appears as unchecked.

  • Trouble dragging and dropping gui components onto other .net forms using NHibernate

    Hi, using VS2008, here. I have a GUI component that loads some stuff from a database mapped by nhibernate in its constructor. When I drag and drop this component onto another form from the toolbox, NHibernate complains that it can't find the config file in program files\visual studio 9\common7\ide. Why is it looking here for the cfg file? I'm actually calling database stuff through another project in the same solution, and the cfg file is located at the root of that project. copy/pasting the cfg file over to there does work, but I'm working with svn here and I don't want to have configuration files outside the repository. Something else that would help would be turning off how it tries to load the data in the form design screen. How would I do that?

    i want to create a external dll to store my .resx files. i want to do this because i need to access this files from both presentation and business layers. I have created a external project that contains the default and the es-Es resx files. i have mark it as PublicResXFileCodeGenerator to be able to access it from another dll. on my view i have this test <%=localization.Common.title.ToString() % when i'm run the application i always get this error "Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture or the neutral culture. Make sure "localization.Common.resources" was correctly embedded or linked into assembly "localization" at compile time, or that all the satellite assemblies required are loadable and fully signed." i have read some this related to ddl signing... but i don't now if this is the problem.

  • Problem updating values in combobox in vb.net

    I have this code, but I have a problem. When I update but do not really made any changes to the value and press the update button, the data becomes null. And it will seem that I deleted the value. I've taught of a solution, that is to add both combobox1.selectedtext and combobox1.selecteditem to the function. But it doesn't work. combobox1.selecteditem is working when you try to alter the values when you update. But will save a null value when you don't alter the values using the combobox combobox1.selectedtext will save the data into the database even without altering.     I create a IIS 7.0 website via UNC path to load .aspx to dynamic compile files and runs. however, it's running perfect. I always use IIS URL Rewrite module 2 to rewrite my site URL n' its perfect, too. Today, I wanna use System.Web.Routing to implement url rewrite but I encountered difficulties... When I wrote code in Global.asax: System.Web.Routing.RouteTable.Routes.MapPageRoute("TEST", "AAA/{prop}", "~/BBB/CCC.aspx"); And it just CANNOT reDirect to /BBB/CCC.aspx When I type the URL(like: xx.xx.xx.xx/BBB/CCC.aspx) in browser directly, it runs normally that I want. (so it proof CCC.aspx is in right path.) thus, I copy all of the code and open VS2010 running with IIS 7.5 Express locally, it works perfect! e.g: in browser URL I type xx.xx.xx.xx/AAA/1234, it will turn to page xx.xx.xx.xx/BBB/CCC.aspx (Works perfect!) Why??? help me plz. thanks. Update: I think I should consider not UNC path to make it error! when I move all code to physical disk and setup IIS 7.0 to monitor this Folder, it still not works! But the same code run in VS2010 + IIS 7.5 Express it works!? so strange!

    Consider the code: On Error Goto ErrorHandler Using sr As StreamReader = New StreamReader(OpenFile) str = sr.ReadToEnd sr.Close() End Using Exit Sub ErrorHandler: If there is an error inside the Using block how do you clean up the sr object? The sr object is not in scope in ErrHandler so sr.Close() cannot be called. Does the Using block cleanup any resources automatically even if there is an error?

I'm updating data from 3 different models on that view, and I have validation methods that work on them, but I don't know how to display the validation message. Where should I put validation messages (on strongly typed views I put them in ModelState, I presume that does not make sense in this case), and how should I display them (I doubt that I will be able to use "validationmessagefor", maybe "validationmessage" somehow)?

    Is this how hashed password stored in SQL Server should look like? This is function I use to hash password (I found it in some tutorial) public string EncryptPassword(string password) { //we use codepage 1252 because that is what sql server uses byte[] pwdBytes = Encoding.GetEncoding(1252).GetBytes(password); byte[] hashBytes = System.Security.Cryptography.MD5.Create().ComputeHash(pwdBytes); return Encoding.GetEncoding(1252).GetString(hashBytes); } EDIT I tried to use sha-1 and now strings seem to look like as they are suppose to: public string EncryptPassword(string password) { return FormsAuthentication.HashPasswordForStoringInConfigFile(password, "sha1"); } // example output: 39A43BDB7827112409EFED3473F804E9E01DB4A8 Result from the image above looks like broken string, but this sha-1 looks normal.... Will this be secure enough?

Since browsers have a culture setting that the web app uses to decide which locale to use, should I still have a "language" button for users to be able to override the culture?
