  • Has anyone ever successfully made PyWebShot work in windows?

    - by user198729
I've googled a lot,and still can't make it work, each time it reports some dll load failed(mainly because of gtk,how can I make it work in windows without ImportError: DLL load failed?)... I'm gonna uninstall all python/gtk related stuff and start from the beginning. Is there a tutorial that covers every problem of the installation?

  • Can immutable be a memory hog?

    - by ciscoheat
Let's say we have a memory-intensive class like an Image, with chainable methods like Resize() and ConvertTo(). If this class is immutable, won't it take a huge amount of memory when I start doing things like i.Resize(500, 800).Rotate(90).ConvertTo(Gif), compared to a mutable one which modifies itself? How to handle a situation like this in a functional language?

  • Creating Bitmaps from ARGB strings (in actionscript-3)???

    - by ashenwraith
Hi, in actionscript 3, what's the fastest way to dump your data (not from a file) into a bitmap for display? I have it working with setPixels and colored rects but that's way too slow/inefficient. Is there a way to load in the raw bytes or hijack the loader class to put in custom loader data? What would be the best/fastest--should I start writing a byte encoder?

  • efficient algorithm for drawing circle arcs?

    - by banister
I am using the mid-point circle algorithm (bresenham circle) to efficiently draw whole circles. Is there something similar to draw circle arcs? I would like to specify a start angle and end angle and have only that portion of the circle drawn. Thanks in advance! EDIT: I would like to draw filled circle arcs too, i.e pie-slices. :)

  • Does resharper make you lazy?

    - by ForeverDebugging
I've been looking at using resharper and from the reviews I've seen, people who start using it never go back. I'm wondering if using resharper helps you pick up errors when looking at code without resharper, or does it decrease this ability becaues you get use to relying on resharper to identify problems?

  • When did you know it was time to leave your job?

    - by Jeremy Michael Cantrell
Every job has its ups and downs, but sometimes it just isn't worth it to stick around. I'm currently in one of the "down" points with my current job and debating whether or not to start testing the waters for something else. What are your experiences? How did you know it was time to leave? Do you ultimately feel like it was the right decision?

I want my javascript object to be initialized just once, so each new browser window will not create new data items, new functions, etc... usually we initialize the code at the end of main javascript using load window.addEventListener("load", main.onLoad, false); so once the second browser window opened, the initialization code will start from scratch. However, I would like to re-use the existing object on consequent browsers. Any mechanism that I can use?
