    Hi I was looking to join 2 styles together to make a super style for easy use and customisation of my page. Is it possible to define something like this? (if so how) .bold { font-weight: bold;} .color1 {color: white;} .boldColor {.bold; .color1;} where .boldColor is effectively .boldColor {font-weight:bold; color:white;} I want this so that I can have styles thoughout the page and be able to easily change the colors in many places in 1 place. I'm currently using <p class="bold color"> but some of my class defs are becoming long so I'd like to be able to use <p class="boldColor"> Thanks

  • How to control access to third party HTML pages

    Hello, We have a Learning Management System (LMS) that runs on its own server (IIS/Server 2003). Students must login with Forms authentication to gain access to the content. We want to offer access to third party flash and audio that is embedded in HTML pages hosted on the third party server (IIS/Server 2003). Currently we use a frame in a pop-up window that is populated via a simple URL to the third party HTML pages. How can the third party control access to their content, so that only students who launch the pop-up windows from our site can access their content? Since the content is mostly video and flash, we would prefer not to stream all of their content through our server to the Student. We have a programming staff, so we could maybe... - either post or get for our HTTP request to the third party server - we could use SSL - we could programmatically assign a global NT user account to all of our users and then do some kind of Active Directory login from the LMS server to the third party server - could the third party content be hosted at Amazon S3? Would this allow for secure access/download? These are just ideas. We really have no idea. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA, Wylie

    I created an Entity Framework file. My database is called MyDB. My Entity Framework file is MyDB.edmx and I used an existing connection string (MyDBConnectionString) to generate the edmx model. It created two more connection strings: MyDBEntities MyDBContainer What are these for? They look exactly the same and both have the information from my old connection string. Do I still need my old connection string?

  • Escaping quotes twice in PHP

    Hello, I have a complicated form where I first have to take some _GET parameters and obviously I have to do a mysql_real_escape_string() on them since I look stuff up in the database with them. Them problem for me is after the initial db lookup. When the user submits a form, I send them along as a _POST request and obviously have to do this mysql_real_escape_string call again just in case someone tries to hack my site with a faked form submission. Then the problem I have is the arguments are escaped twice and my queries begin to look strange like this: select field1 , field2 , from my_table where some_id = \'.$lookup_id.\' ... So the system seems to be adding \' and it is messing me up :) Also, in my other forms I have not seen such behavior. Any ideas on what may be causing this? One weird thing is that I tried to send unescaped parameters to the post, and the same problem happens. That is a clue, but not a sufficient one for me. :( Thanks, Alex

  • Securing a REST API

    I am in the middle of developing a REST API - the first one I ever have. The data being passed through the API is not of such a critical nature that there will be loss of life, economics etc if it was intercepted but at the same time I would like it to be secure. The data being transferred is simply like the data that would be transferred on Twitter or Facebook - not overly confidential but still should be kept private. What is the best way to secure this data? Am I best to use HTTP Basic Auth over SSL or should I be looking into something like OAuth. I have never really used REST much before so bit of a first for me. Thanks

    in CSS, how can i do something like: ---Item--- with the dash connected like a line? i thought of : border-bottom: 3px solid #000; but then i can't move the line upward plus the line would be behind the text, not surrounding the text my HTML <ul> <li class="sub-menu-item" ><a href="#">FACULTY&STAFF</a></li> </ul> (if possible, i would like to avoid touching the HTML) is all the above possible via css or should i just use an image after all?

  • Listen to HTML/CSS events of web page

    I'm looking for a way to listen for an event in the HTML/CSS of a webpage. Basically, a website I use at work lists queues and appointments, which flag as yellow/red based on the amount of time late on taking said appointment. Other than this visual aide, there is no alert of any kind, which is a failing point if one is juggling multiple windows and doesn't notice. What I would like to do is put together a simple way to watch for the tag ID or perhaps the flag hex color, and then alert me in a way of my choosing. The work environment is on OS X, so I presume I'm looking at an Objective-C centric solution unless Applescript is capable of doing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello, I am using the Amazon product Advertising API to fetch the product categories. For US categories it is working. But using browse nodes from different sites I get the following error: "569604 is not a valid value for BrowseNodeId. Please change this value and retry your request."     I can't figure out what I need to do with MVC routing to make this work Here's my one route: routes.MapHttpRoute( name: "DefaultApi", routeTemplate: "{controller}/{id}/{action}", defaults: new { id = RouteParameter.Optional, action = RouteParameter.Optional } ); The request /Shipments/ works great. The request /Shipments/3/Packages works great. The request /Shipments/3 however fails with the error: Multiple actions were found that match the request: System.Linq.IQueryable`1[Api.Controllers.RequisitionsController+PackageRequisitionWithTracking] GetPackageRequisitions(Int32) on type Api.Controllers.RequisitionsController Api.Models.ShipmentRequisition GetShipmentRequisitions(Int32) on type Api.Controllers.RequisitionsController It can't seem to differentiate between: public ShipmentRequisition GetShipmentRequisitions(int id) and [ActionName("Packages")] public IQueryable<PackageRequisitionWithTracking> GetPackageRequisitions(int id) I would have thought the lack of action name on the get shipment by id would allow that route to work.

I defined a table in my database wich resume the profil and the url permitted like that: id_profil :1 url : http://localhost/...xyz.jsp id page 1 Now I am trying to let the menu modified appropriately to the id_profil of the logged user. So there are pages allowed in one profile but must be hidden to others. I have no idea since now how to realize this and it is so important for me. thanks for your help.

  • How to return an enum ID instead of the enum text in WebAPI

    I am using the WebAPI with .NET 4.5. I have a enum called DareStatus which is a list of statuses and their corresponding integer ID's. To minimize bandwidth traffic I want to send the int values of the enums, not the full text as it is currently doing. (I have control over the client so I can map it on the clientside).     What's the best way to prevent a dictionary attack? I've thought up several implementations but they all seem to have some flaw in them: Lock out a user after X failed login attempts. Problem: easy to turn into a denial of service attack, locking out many users in a short amount of time. Incrementally increase response time per failed login attempt on a username. Problem: dictionary attacks might use the same password but different usernames. Incrementally increase response time per failed login attempt from an IP address. Problem: easy to get around by spoofing IP address. Incrementally increase response time per failed login attempt within a session. Problem: easy to get around by creating a dictionary attack that fires up a new session on each attempt.

Added a new database for the website.     Hi gang, I've Html page that looks like: <HTML> <meta http-equiv='Content-Type' content='text/html; charset=gb2312'> <BODY onload='document.forms[0].submit();'> <form name="form" method="post" action="/path/to/some/servlet"> <input type="hidden" name="username" value="??"> <!-- UTF-8 characters --> </form> </BODY> </HTML> As you can see, the content of this page is UTF-8, but I need to send it with GB2312 character encoding, as the servlet that I am sending this page to expects from me GB2312. Is this a valid scenario? Because in the servlet, I couldn't retive these chines characters back using a filter that sets the character encoding to GB2312!! Please help
