• What is the netmask equivalent on the verision of route for the Mac

  In order to create some special routes for debugging I used the following command on my linux server: sudo route add -net 10.78.0.0 netmask 255.255.0.0 gw 10.101.1.1 which works, and sets up the routes I need. But when I run the same command on my Mac I get: route: bad address: netmask I'm guessing that the version of route that is included in OS X requires a different format but I'm at a loss to figure it out.

I uninstall the old SDk and double click the .dmg file then i got a popup stating that "The following Disk Images couldnt found" and "xcode_3.2.2.2_and_iPhone_SDK_3.2_final.dmg is not recognized".   INFORMIX-SE 7.2: I would like to dedicate a hard disk, exclusively for my dbname.dbs directory which holds all the .dat and .idx files, and create a ramdisk for my /tmp temporary files in order to improve performance. I would also like to strip down the OS from any unecessary files and processes to minimize overhead for my dedicated application. Is this a good idea and are there any roadmaps for accomplishing this?

• Can Android 1.6 devices be upgraded to Android 2.x for free?

  I'm a bit confused on what the license/deployment policy for Android is really like. Is it an open source OS in the same sense as let's say a normal Linux distro ?   Is there any advantage to use a linux machine to develop instead of Windows? Everyone at work tells me to switch to Linux, since I'm developing hard-core on linux anyway. I manage 40 servers, and do everything from DB to data-backend to developing web services. I don't find anything wrong with Putty. I"m just too lazy to install another OS... What do you guys think?

  Clients that have been reporting their state fine suddenly start reporting "Windows 0.0" for their OS and "Not yet contacted" for their Last Contacted date even though previously these values were present and correct.   Hi, I recently have moved my server and changed nameservers and ip, i updated my domain. but somehow in windows 7 when i go to my domain, it resolves old ip even though mac os x shows the new site. Then i edited hosts file with the new ip in windows, it is ok now. but why this happens ? is it about isp cache or sth ? thanks

  Is there any way to get rid of the drop down cc bcc reply-to etc. field menu in the compose new message window in Mail in Mac OS X Snow Leopard? The offending menu is the one immediately to the left of the Subject field when composing a new message, and it interrupts me as I try to tab from To: to Subject: to the message body.   Back in the day (day =~ 1994), the tseng et4000 video card had extended modes for the console under linux. There was a beautiful monospaced font (I think it was for 100x40 or 100x50, but my memory could be wrong). Anyone know a way to get said font for a modern computer (e.g., Mac OS X) or the history of the font, etc? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tseng_ET4000 has little info on this score.

  so apparently, you can't use VirtualBox etc with Windows Home 7. because you would be using two licenses instead of one. So other users that tried virtualization with Windows Home Premium 7, did you just end up using another OS like Ubuntu etc? Did you find a workaround for using Windows? When I say virtualization, I mean virtual machine of sort - where dangerous websites can be visited, nasty applications can be tried etc.

  Whenever I reattach to my detached screen (containing Irssi), my Putty screen is resized to something it has been at startup. If I change the window size after this, detach the screen and resize it back, window will be again resized to the original size. By window I mean the Putty window on my windows box.   How can I generate a list of files in a directory [for example, "/mnt/hdd/PUB/"] ordered by the files modification time? [in descending order, the oldest modified file is at the lists end] ls -A -lRt would be great: https://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=AzuSVmrJ But if a file is changed in a directory, it lists the full directory, so the pastebined link isn't good [I don't want a list ordered by "directories", I need a "per file" ordered list] OS: OpenWrt [no Perl - not enough space for it :( + no "stat", or "file" command].
