  • can't query from dbpedia with a sparql

    I want to query from dbpedia using their sparql interface (http://dbpedia.org/sparql) I want to get the abstract of http://dbpedia.org/page/Herbie_Mann I know that I have to call abstract ontology http://dbpedia.org/ontology/abstract and my final sparsql query is like following : SELECT ?abstract WHERE { { <http://dbpedia.org/page/Herbie_Mann> <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/abstract> ?abstract} } but yet I'm not able to see anything. please help me as I am beginner in semantic web!

    I'm trying to set the Default URL of my MVC application to a view within an area of my application. The area is called "Common", the controller "Home" and the view "Index". I've tried setting the defaultUrl in the forms section of web.config to "~/Common/Home/Index" with no success. I've also tried mapping a new route in global.asax, thus: routes.MapRoute( "Area", "{area}/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { area = "Common", controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } ); Again, to no avail.

    Hi, I need to produce a very simple website (no dynamic-content, 2-columns, header&footer) and I have a basic knowledge of xhtml/css. So I could probably come with something from scratch, but it would probably won't work in "all" browsers. Something like... files[] for file in urllib.listdir(dir): if file.isdir: # handle this as directory else: # handle as file I assume I would need to use the urllib library, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way of doing this, that I've seen at least.

    A lot of web applications having a 3 tier architecture are doing all the processing in the app server and use the database for persistence just to have database independence. After paying a huge amount for a database, doing all the processing including batch at the app server and not using the power of the database seems to be a waste. I have a difficulty in convincing people that we need to use best of both worlds.
