• local vs core contoller

- by latvian
Hi, I am adding new column and action in the local admin app/code/local/Mage/Adminhtml/Block/Catalog/Product/Grid.php which works fine, however. The local controller/app/code/local/Mage/Adminhtml/Block/Catalog/Product.php is not being used or is not overloading the admin one /app/code/core/Mage/Adminhtml/Block/Catalog/Product.php. This is almost fresh install of Magento 1.4.0.1. I am the only one working, so i know it is not overloaded by some custom controller. I have disabled all custom modules. I have rolled back most of my changes. I have checked /etc/Modules/Mage_Catalog.xml. Refreshed cache all possible ways, loged in and out. Nothing....still using the core contoller copy. why? How do you troubleshoot, meaning, at what moment magento decides using between core or local copies? ...its even more strange because it does not parse local Adminhtml config.xml but uses local Adminthml copy of Blocks. Any pointer would help. I would like to keep everything in local code. Thank You, Margots

• Forbid links to open new tabs in Google Chrome

- by Andrzej
I'm looking for a solution to forbid links in Google Chrome to open new tabs (in most cases it is a target="_blank" issue). So, I want all links to open pages in currently active tab, not in new tab. I tried a wide range of addons (for ex. "Death to target=_blank") and greasemonkey scripts that are supposed to remove target=_blank attribute but none of them worked. It is extremally anoying when I want to switch between accounts in GMail or navigate from GMail to GDrive. I always get the new tab opened and I need to close last tab manually.

• Qt XQuery into a QStringList

- by Stewart
Hi, I'm trying to use QtXmlQuery to extract some data from XML. I'd like to put this into a QStringList. I try the following: QByteArray in = "this is where my xml lives"; QBuffer received; received.setData(in); received.open(QIODevice::ReadOnly); QXmlQuery query; query.bindVariable("data", &received); query.setQuery(NAMESPACE //contains definition of the t namespace "doc($data)//t:service/t:serviceID/text()"); QBuffer outb; outb.open(QIODevice::ReadWrite); QXmlSerializer s(query, &outb); query.evaluateTo(&s); qDebug() << "buffer" << outb.data(); //This works perfectly! QStringList * queryResult = new QStringList(); query.evaluateTo(queryResult); qDebug() << "string list" << *queryResult; //This gives me no output! As you can see, everything works fine when I send the output into a QBuffer via a QXmlSerializer... but I get nothing when I try to use a QStringList.

• How to hadle a tags inside another tags in NSXMLParser

- by SimpleMan
I have a file: <xml> <component>something <system>somethingDeeper <value>somethingDeepest</value> </system> </component> <component>somethinfDifferent <value>somethingDifferentDeeper</value> </component> <value>somethingNew</value> </xml> So i want to distinguish what is inside another tag (ex. <system>) what is not. How to do this with NSXMLParser ? I currently use BOOL ivar's but this is a lot of tags and this is not as elegant as i want it to be. I know that NSXMLParser is a SAX parser and i understand that. In above example I will be enter to didEndElement method three times with: elementName equal value Is there a more elegant way to distinguish what entry was from <component> tag above what not?

• Add file in ANT build (Tomcat server)

- by Shaded
Hey everyone, I have an ANT build that I need to setup so on deployment of the .war a certain file will be placed in a specific location. Currently my ant builds the war as follows... <target name="war" depends="jar"> <war destfile="${deploy}/file.war" webxml="${web-inf}/web.xml"> <fileset dir="${WebRoot}"> <include name="**/*.vm" /> <include name="**/*.js" /> <include name="**/*.jsp" /> <include name="**/*.html" /> <include name="**/*.css" /> <include name="**/*.gif" /> <include name="**/*.jpg" /> <include name="**/*.png" /> <include name="**/*.tld" /> <include name="**/applicationContext*.xml" /> <include name="**/jpivot/**" /> <include name="**/wcf/**" /> <include name="**/platform/**" /> <include name="**/Reports/**" /> </fileset> <lib dir="${web-inf.lib}" /> </war> </target> The file I need is called Scriptlet.class and it needs to be in WebRoot/WEB-INF/classes/ I've tried several things to get this to work and have yet to find one that works... if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it!

• Should we EVER use dp values for width/height?

- by sandalone
I've come across a project done by some other team which I have to fix. They used dp values for images' width/height. When I tried to adopt the layout for some tablets and/or mobiles, I've faced a lot of troubles. For example, the image of 40x40 dp has top padding of 15dp. When such image is loaded by some new mobile screen, the image is not where is was supposed to be - it's either shifted or distorted or of the wrong size. Now I need to propose a redesign of the whole app and I need some advise from the more experienced community. Should I abandon such layout policy (described abobe) and do like this: make the image with the size of 40x40 px position the image for the mdpi screen set its height/width to wrap_content do like this for other images after I finish layout for mdpi, resize each image for ldpi, hdpi and xhdpi screens in case of a special mobile/tablet, make a special set of images + xml files Is there a way when you would advise to use the explicit size of some images? Do you advise setting the size of images in xml layout or setting size via photoshop or similar graphics tools and then resize images for other screen sizes or screen densities?

• Return NSArray from NSDictionary

- by Jon
I have a fetch that returns an array with dictionary in it of an attribute of a core data object. Here is my previous question: Create Array From Attribute of NSObject From NSFetchResultsController This is the fetch: NSFetchRequest *request = [[NSFetchRequest alloc] init]; [request setEntity:entity]; [request setResultType:NSDictionaryResultType]; [request setReturnsDistinctResults:NO]; //set to YES if you only want unique values of the property [request setPropertiesToFetch :[NSArray arrayWithObject:@"timeStamp"]]; //name(s) of properties you want to fetch // Execute the fetch. NSError *error; NSArray *objects = [managedObjectContext executeFetchRequest:request error:&error]; When I log the NSArray data, I get this: The content of data is( { timeStamp = "2011-06-14 21:30:03 +0000"; }, { timeStamp = "2011-06-16 21:00:18 +0000"; }, { timeStamp = "2011-06-11 21:00:18 +0000"; }, { timeStamp = "2011-06-23 19:53:35 +0000"; }, { timeStamp = "2011-06-21 19:53:35 +0000"; } ) What I want is an array with this format: [NSArray arrayWithObjects: @"2011-11-01 00:00:00 +0000", @"2011-12-01 00:00:00 +0000", nil];' Edit: This is the method for which I want to replace the data array with my new data array: - (NSArray*)calendarMonthView:(TKCalendarMonthView *)monthView marksFromDate:(NSDate *)startDate toDate:(NSDate *)lastDate { NSLog(@"calendarMonthView marksFromDate toDate"); NSLog(@"Make sure to update 'data' variable to pull from CoreData, website, User Defaults, or some other source."); // When testing initially you will have to update the dates in this array so they are visible at the // time frame you are testing the code. NSArray *data = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: @"2011-01-01 00:00:00 +0000", @"2011-12-01 00:00:00 +0000", nil]; // Initialise empty marks array, this will be populated with TRUE/FALSE in order for each day a marker should be placed on. NSMutableArray *marks = [NSMutableArray array]; // Initialise calendar to current type and set the timezone to never have daylight saving NSCalendar *cal = [NSCalendar currentCalendar]; [cal setTimeZone:[NSTimeZone timeZoneForSecondsFromGMT:0]]; // Construct DateComponents based on startDate so the iterating date can be created. // Its massively important to do this assigning via the NSCalendar and NSDateComponents because of daylight saving has been removed // with the timezone that was set above. If you just used "startDate" directly (ie, NSDate *date = startDate;) as the first // iterating date then times would go up and down based on daylight savings. NSDateComponents *comp = [cal components:(NSMonthCalendarUnit | NSMinuteCalendarUnit | NSYearCalendarUnit | NSDayCalendarUnit | NSWeekdayCalendarUnit | NSHourCalendarUnit | NSSecondCalendarUnit) fromDate:startDate]; NSDate *d = [cal dateFromComponents:comp]; // Init offset components to increment days in the loop by one each time NSDateComponents *offsetComponents = [[NSDateComponents alloc] init]; [offsetComponents setDay:1]; // for each date between start date and end date check if they exist in the data array while (YES) { // Is the date beyond the last date? If so, exit the loop. // NSOrderedDescending = the left value is greater than the right if ([d compare:lastDate] == NSOrderedDescending) { break; } // If the date is in the data array, add it to the marks array, else don't if ([data containsObject:[d description]]) { [marks addObject:[NSNumber numberWithBool:YES]]; } else { [marks addObject:[NSNumber numberWithBool:NO]]; } // Increment day using offset components (ie, 1 day in this instance) d = [cal dateByAddingComponents:offsetComponents toDate:d options:0]; } [offsetComponents release]; return [NSArray arrayWithArray:marks]; }

• JAXM soap message parsing

- by Dean
I am getting the following XML back from a .net service: <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <soap:Body> <validateCredentialsResponse xmlns="http://www.paragon.com/positionmonitor/PositionMonitor"> <validateCredentialsResult> <ResultData xsi:type="ValidateCredentialsResultData"> <validated>true</validated> <alreadyLoggedIn>false</alreadyLoggedIn> </ResultData> <Status> <Condition xmlns="">SUCCESS</Condition> <ErrorCode xmlns="">BO.00000</ErrorCode> <ErrorDesc xmlns="">OK</ErrorDesc> </Status> </validateCredentialsResult> </validateCredentialsResponse> </soap:Body> </soap:Envelope> ...and I'm trying to parse it using JAXM, however the following always evaluates to null: SOAPEnvelope env = reply.getSOAPPart().getEnvelope(); Can anyone help me out here?

• What sysadmin must do to run OS with damaged /lib/libc.so file ? / rsyslogd daemon logrotation / deny checking list of running processes

- by Virtual_Lotos
What sysadmin must do to run OS with damaged /lib/libc.so file ? In other words, how command interpreter should be configured to be able to run system with corrupted /lib/libc.so file ? Do I have to move it to /var catalog ? Does the command interpreter must be statically compiled or have setuid attribute or perhaps must be a symbolic link to /bin/sh or must be no larger than 2MB ? How to prevent a user from checking list of processes started by another user ? How do I forbid a user to see which processes are running by another user ? What do I have to keep in mind when I want to make rsyslogd daemon logrotation ?

• Change clickable TextView's color on focus and click?

- by Daniel Jonsson
I have a clickable TextView that I want to give some colors to. But I don't know how. Here are the relevant code snippets from my two files that I'm working with: TextView title = new TextView(this); title.setLayoutParams(new LayoutParams(LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT, LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT)); title.setTextColor(R.color.textcolor); title.setText(titleLine); title.setTypeface(null, Typeface.BOLD); title.setClickable(true); title.setId(idLine); title.setFocusable(true); title.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { /* Irrelevant code */ } }); And this is my textcolor.xml file: <selector xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">

</selector> When I use the textcolor-file by typing title.setTextColor(R.color.textcolor);, the textcolor just becomes grey, regardless if I press it or so. Which is strange since I have written "#000000" in all color fields. But if I remove the setTextColor code, gets the textView a light grey color, and when I press it, it becomes black. But that aren't the colors that I want. So, can anyone help me with this problem? Just to clarify: I want to be able to specify the colors for the text when it's normal, pressed and focused.

• [FLEX] Images won't dynamically refresh

- by Bridget
I am writing a Flex application to receive xml from an httpservice. That works because I can populate a datagrid with the information. The xml sends image pathnames. A combobox sends a new HttpService call onChange. This repopulates the datagrid and puts new images in the folder that flex is accessing. I want to dynamically change the image without changing the pathname of the image. <mx:Canvas id="borderCanvas"><mx:Canvas id="dropCanvas"> <mx:Tile id="adTile"><mx:Image></mx:Image> </mx:Tile></mx:Canvas></mx:Canvas> This is my component. I assign my Image sources using this code: var i:Number = 0; while ( i <= dg_conads.rowCount){ var img:Image = new Image(); img.source = null; img.source = imageSource+i+".jpg"; adTile.addChild(img); i++; } My biggest problem is that the images are not refreshing. I get the same image even though I've prevented caching from the HTML wrapper and the ASP.Net website. The image automatically loads in the folder and refreshes in the folder but I can't get the image to refresh in the application. I've tried removeAllChildren(); delete(adTile.getChildAt(0)); and neither worked.

• Using LDAP/Active Directory with PIN based authentication

- by nishantjr
We'd like to integrate our service with LDAP, but because of hardware constraints, we're only allow 4 digit user ids and passwords. What would be the best practice for performing such an authetication? We've considered adding User ID and PIN attributes to the LDAP user schema, but we're not sure how happy people would be with modifying their schema to interact with our service. The PIN attribute would have to have the same support that native user passwords have. (hashing and salting etc.) UPDATE Another consideration is how ldap_bind works with this scenario. How do we get it to use an alternate authentication method? Can this even be done without affecting other services that use the same LDAP server?

• About Web service ,how to use Ajax to call a specific member function of a class?

- by Liu chwen
I'm trying to build a web service by PHP. In my case, I called the getINFO(), but the return value on client side always null. Have no idea to solve this problem.. Here's the SOAPserver code(WS.WEB_s.php): require("WEB_s.php"); ini_set("soap.wsdl_cache_enabled", 0); $server = new SoapServer('wsdl/WEB_s.wsdl'); $server->setClass("WEB_s"); $server->handle(); Where the main Class is(WEB_s.php): final class WEB_s { public function getINFO(){ $JsonOutput = '{"key":"value",...}'; return $JsonOutput; } public function setWAN($setCommand,$newConfigfilePath){ $bOutput; return $bOutput; } } And Client side: $(document).ready(function(){ $('#qqq').button().click(function(){ var soapMessage = LoginSoap($('#uid').val(),$('#pwd').val()); alert('soapMessage'); $.ajax({ //url: 'libraries/WS.WEB_s.php/WEB_s/getINFO',//success , return null //url: 'libraries/WS.WEB_s.php/', //success , return null url: 'libraries/WS.WEB_s.php/getINFO',//success , return null type: 'GET', timeout: (10* 1000), contentType: "text/xml", dataType: "xml", success: function( data,textStatus,jqXHR){ alert('Server success(' + data+')('+ textStatus + ')(' + jqXHR + ')'); }, error: function (request, status, error) { alert('Server Error(' + status+')->'+error); }, complete: function (jqXHR, textStatus) { alert('Server success(' + jqXHR+')('+ textStatus + ')'); } }); }); }); The following is the corresponding WSDL file : http://codepaste.net/95wq9b

• Ordering .each results in the view...

- by bgadoci
I am wondering if it is possible to dictate the order (i.e. :order = 'created_at DESC') within the view. I realize that logic in the view is not ideal but I seem to be having some problems locating where to affect this output. For instance, here is my code: <% @user.questions.each do |question| %> <%= link_to_unless_current h (question.title), question %> Created about <%= time_ago_in_words h(question.created_at) %> ago Updated about <%= time_ago_in_words h(question.updated_at) %> ago <%= link_to 'Edit', edit_question_path(question) %> | <%= link_to 'Destroy', question, :confirm => 'Are you sure?', :method => :delete %> <% end %> In my QuestionsController I have the following index action but it is not affecting the output from the code above. class QuestionsController < ApplicationController def index @questions = Question.all(:order => 'created_at DESC', :limit => 20) respond_to do |format| format.html # index.html.erb format.xml { render :xml => @questions } end end end

• Send SOAP via curl

- by danrichardson
Hi. This has been bugging me for days, i'm trying to send a SOAP post via curl but i just keep getting a 'couldn't connect to host' error but i really cant see how. I have an asp version which works fine with the same url and data, i think it's just a php/curl thing...? I currently have the following code (the CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS data is a valid soap envelope string) $soap_do = curl_init(); curl_setopt($soap_do, CURLOPT_URL, "https://xxx.yyy.com:517/zzz.asmx" ); curl_setopt($soap_do, CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT, 10); curl_setopt($soap_do, CURLOPT_TIMEOUT, 10); curl_setopt($soap_do, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true ); curl_setopt($soap_do, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, false); curl_setopt($soap_do, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST, false); curl_setopt($soap_do, CURLOPT_POST, true ); curl_setopt($soap_do, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, '<soap:Envelope>...</soap:Envelope>'); curl_setopt($soap_do, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, array('Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8', 'Content-Length: '.strlen('<soap:Envelope>...</soap:Envelope>') )); if(curl_exec($soap_do) === false) { $err = 'Curl error: ' . curl_error($soap_do); curl_close($soap_do); return $err; } else { curl_close($soap_do); return 'Operation completed without any errors'; } So any ideas why it just errors all the time? The asp version works fine! The code is; Set xmlhttp = server.Createobject("MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP") xmlhttp.Open "POST","https://xxx.yyy.com:517/zzz.asmx" xmlhttp.setRequestHeader "Content-Type", "text/xml; charset=utf-8" xmlhttp.Send('<soap:Envelope>...</soap:Envelope>')

• Obtain reference to View in ActionScript class within ViewNavigatorApplication

- by chb
I've got a very simple project in FlashBuilder 4.5. It's a mobile application of type ViewNavigatorApplication with a single view, MapView. In the MapView.mxml file, I've got a Flex component of type Map declared in xml. <s:View xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009" name="CatBusMapView"> <fx:Script> import com.esri.ags.Map; .... </fx:Script> <fx:Declarations> .... </fx:Declarations> <esri:Map id="cbm"> ... </esri:Map> </s:View> In this same project, I've an actionscript class called UserGeolocation. In this class, I'm attempting to get a reference to this map component. So far, I can get a reference to the top-level application, its ViewNavigator and the NavigationStack of said ViewNavigator. However, I cannot find a way to access the MapView, much less the map I've declared within it. I'm aware of methods like firstView() and activeView(), but I want an absolute solution, one that retrieves the view regardless of whether or not it's first or active. I've tried navigator.getChildByName("MapView") with no luck.

• REST design: what verb and resource name to use for a filtering service

- by kabaros
I am developing a cleanup/filtering service that has a method that receives a list of objects serialized in xml, and apply some filtering rules to return a subset of those objects. In a REST-ful service, what verb shall I use for such a method? I thought that GET is a natural choice, but I have to put the serialized XML in the body of the request which works but feels incorrect. The other verbs don't seem to fit semantically. What is a good way to define that Service interface? Naming the resource /Cleanup or /Filter seems weird mainly because in the examples I see online, it is always a name rather than a verb being used for resource name. Am I right to feel that REST services are better suited for CRUD operations and you start bending the rules in situations like this service? If yes, am I then making a wrong architectural choice. I've pushed to develop this service in REST-ful style (as opposed to SOAP) for simplicity, but such awkward cases happen a lot and make me feel like I am missing something. Either choosing REST where it shouldn't be used or may be over-thinking some stuff that doesn't really matter? In that case, what really matters?

• Setting up App Engine to receive email addresses with ids in the address

- by Mark M
I am writing an App Engine app that is supposed to receive emails in this form: [email protected] (someID is an alphanumeric ID that I generate). I have this in my web.xml thinking it would catch emails that start with 'addcontact.': <servlet> <servlet-name>addNewContactServlet</servlet-name> <servlet-class>com.mycompany.server.AddNewContactServlet</servlet- class> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>addNewContactServlet</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/_ah/mail/addcontact.*</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> However, both on my dev machine and on google's servers email is not received. On the dev machine I get this message (I get a similar error in the deployed log) Message send failure HTTP ERROR 404 Problem accessing /_ah/mail/ [email protected]. Reason: NOT_FOUND I can receive email at fully specified addresses or when I use /_ah/mail/* The google documentation made me believe it was possible to include partial email addresses in web.xml. Am I not using the wildcard correctly? Does the period have something to do with it? Can this be done somehow?

• Layout: how to make image to change its width and height proportionally?

- by Exterminator13
I have such layout: <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal"> <TextView android:id="@+id/title" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" android:layout_centerVertical="true" android:layout_toLeftOf="@+id/my_image" android:ellipsize="end" android:singleLine="true" android:text="Some text" android:textAppearance="?android:attr/textAppearanceMedium" /> <ImageView android:id="@+id/my_image" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignTop="@+id/title" android:layout_alignBottom="@+id/title" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:layout_centerVertical="true" android:adjustViewBounds="true" android:src="@drawable/my_bitmap_image" /> This layout does almost what I need: it makes image view height the same as text view. The image graphic contents stretched also keeping aspect ratio. But, the width of the image view does not change! As a result, I have a wide gap between text and the image view! As a temporal solution, I override View#onLayout. The question: how to change image width in xml layout? UPDATE: This is a final layout I need (text + a few images). Look at the first image: its width should be exactly the same as scaled image in it with no paddings and margins:

• XSL(like) declarative language as MVC view over strongtyped model?

- by Martin Kool
As a huge XSL fan, I am very happy to use xsl as the view in our proprietary MVC framework on ASP.NET. Objects in the model are serialized under the hood using .NET's xml serializer, and we use quite atomic xsl templates to declare how each object or property should transform. For example: <xsl:template match="/Article">

<xsl:apply-templates />

</xsl:template> <xsl:template match="Article/Title">
<xsl:apply-templates />
</xsl:template> <xsl:template match="@*|text()"> <xsl:copy /> </xsl:template> This mechanism allows us to quickly override default matching templates, like having a template matching on the last item in a list, or the selected one, etc. Also, xsl extension objects in .NET allow us just the bit of extra grip that we need. Common shared templates can be split up and included. However Even though I can ignore the verbosity downside of xsl (because Visual Studio schema intellisense + snippets really is slick, praise to the VS-team), the downside of not having intellisense over strongtyped objects in the model is really something that's bugging me. I've seen ASP.NET MVC + user controls in action and really starting to love it, but I wonder; Is there a way of getting some sort of intellisense over XML that we're iterating over, or do you know of a language that offers the freedom and declarativeness of XSL but has the strongtype/intellisense benefits of say webforms/usercontrols/asp.net.mvc-view? (I probably know the answer: "no", and I'll find myself using Phil Haack's utterly cool mvc shizzle soon...)

• Icons in menu are smaller than they should be

- by martinpelant
Hello I have a little problem. All the icons in my apk are smaller than the same icons in other apps (Gmail etc.) This is how it looks like in my apk and this is the same icon in Gmail.apk. I have copied these icons directly from SDK to the specific folders for hdpi, mdpi and ldpi. Here is an example of a hdpi icon I use and my menu.xml <menu xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">

</menu> Does anybody know how to make these icon have the same size as in other apk's? I have tried the asset studio with no effect. UPDATE: If I reference an icon directly from android (android:drawable) then it has normal size. However not all icons can be referenced.

• xpath php attributes not working?

- by Jared
Getting this error Call to a member function attributes() on a non-object I have found multiple answers to this on SO, but none of them seem to solve my problem? Here is the XML: <Routes> <Route type="source" name="incoming"> </Route> <Routes> Here is the PHP: $doc = new SimpleXMLElement('routingConfig.xml', null, true); class traverseXML { function getData() { global $doc; $routeCount = count($doc -> xpath("Route")); //this value returns correctly $routeArr = array(); for ($i = 1; $i <= $routeCount; $i++) { $name = $doc -> Route[$i] -> attributes() -> name; array_push($routeArr, $name); } return $routeArr; } } $traverseXML = new traverseXML; var_dump($traverseXML -> getData()); I understand what the error means, but how is it a non-object? How do I return the name attribute of Routes/Route[1] ?
