  • Fullscreen texture iPhone OpenGL ES

    - by Ben Reeves
    I'm aware that OpenGL textures on the the iphone are required to be a power of 2, is this true of OpenGL 2.0 as well? If I have an image that is 320 x 480 in size and want to draw it full screen is there any possible way to do this with OpenGL. Thanks

  • How to invert alternate bits of a number

    - by Cupidvogel
    The problem is how to invert alternate bits of a number, starting from the LSB. Currently what I am doing is first doing a count = -1 while n: n >>= 1 count += 1 to first find the position of the leftmost set bit, then running a loop to invert every alternate bit: i = 0 while i <= count: num ^= 1<<i i += 2 Is there a quick hack solution instead of this rather boring loop solution? Of course, the solution can't make any asumption about the size of the integer.

  • Converting text into numeric in xls using Java

    - by Work World
    When I create excel sheet through java ,the column which has number datatype in the oracle table, get converted to text format in excel.I want it to remain in the number format.Below is my code snippet for excel creation. FileWriter fw = new FileWriter(tempFile.getAbsoluteFile(),true); // BufferedWriter bw = new BufferedWriter(fw); HSSFWorkbook wb = new HSSFWorkbook(); HSSFSheet sheet = wb.createSheet("Excel Sheet"); //Column Size of excel for(int i=0;i<10;i++) { sheet.setColumnWidth((short) i, (short)8000); } String userSelectedValues=result; HSSFCellStyle style = wb.createCellStyle(); ///HSSFDataFormat df = wb.createDataFormat(); style.setFillForegroundColor(HSSFColor.GREY_25_PERCENT.index); style.setFillPattern(HSSFCellStyle.SOLID_FOREGROUND); //style.setDataFormat(df.getFormat("0")); HSSFFont font = wb.createFont(); font.setColor(HSSFColor.BLACK.index); font.setBoldweight((short) 700); style.setFont(font); int selecteditems=userSelectedValues.split(",").length; // HSSFRow rowhead = sheet.createRow((short)0); //System.out.println("**************selecteditems************" +selecteditems); for(int k=0; k<selecteditems;k++) { HSSFRow rowhead = sheet.createRow((short)k); if(userSelectedValues.contains("O_UID")) { HSSFCell cell0 = rowhead.createCell((short) k); cell0.setCellValue("O UID"); cell0.setCellStyle(style); k=k+1; } ///some columns here.. } int index=1; for (int i = 0; i<dataBeanList.size(); i++) { odb=(OppDataBean)dataBeanList.get(i); HSSFRow row = sheet.createRow((short)index); for(int j=0;j<selecteditems;j++) { if(userSelectedValues.contains("O_UID")) { row.createCell((short)j).setCellValue(odb.getUID()); j=j+1; } } index++; } FileOutputStream fileOut = null; try { fileOut = new FileOutputStream(path.toString()+"/temp.xls"); } catch (FileNotFoundException e1) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e1.printStackTrace(); } try { wb.write(fileOut); } catch (IOException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } try { fileOut.close(); } catch (IOException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); }

  • c++ global operator not playing well with template class

    - by John
    ok, i found some similar posts on stackoverflow, but I couldn't find any that pertained to my exact situation and I was confused with some of the answers given. Ok, so here is my problem: I have a template matrix class as follows: template <typename T, size_t ROWS, size_t COLS> class Matrix { public: template<typename, size_t, size_t> friend class Matrix; Matrix( T init = T() ) : _matrix(ROWS, vector<T>(COLS, init)) { /*for( int i = 0; i < ROWS; i++ ) { _matrix[i] = new vector<T>( COLS, init ); }*/ } Matrix<T, ROWS, COLS> & operator+=( const T & value ) { for( vector<T>::size_type i = 0; i < this->_matrix.size(); i++ ) { for( vector<T>::size_type j = 0; j < this->_matrix[i].size(); j++ ) { this->_matrix[i][j] += value; } } return *this; } private: vector< vector<T> > _matrix; }; and I have the following global function template: template<typename T, size_t ROWS, size_t COLS> Matrix<T, ROWS, COLS> operator+( const Matrix<T, ROWS, COLS> & lhs, const Matrix<T, ROWS, COLS> & rhs ) { Matrix<T, ROWS, COLS> returnValue = lhs; return returnValue += lhs; } To me, this seems to be right. However, when I try to compile the code, I get the following error (thrown from the operator+ function): binary '+=' : no operator found which takes a right-hand operand of type 'const matrix::Matrix<T,ROWS,COLS>' (or there is no acceptable conversion) I can't figure out what to make of this. Any help if greatly appreciated!

    What is the usefulness of these 2 things in CSS reset? What is the problem in resizing of input elements in IE and in which version? and if legend color doesn't inherit in IE then how it can be solved adding color:#000; /*to enable resizing for IE*/ input, textarea, select { *font-size:100%; } /*because legend doesn't inherit in IE */ legend { color:#000; }

  • Extracting a given number of the highest values in a List

    - by James P.
    I'm seeking to display a fixed number of items on a web page according to their respective weight (represented by an Integer). The List where these items are found can be of virtually any size. The first solution that comes to mind is to do a Collections.sort() and to get the items one by one by going through the List. Is there a more elegant solution though that could be used to prepare, say, the top eight items?

  • The Best Way to shred XML data into SQL Server database columns

    - by eddiegroves
    What is the best way to shred XML data into various database columns? So far I have mainly been using the nodes and value functions like so: INSERT INTO some_table (column1, column2, column3) SELECT Rows.n.value('(@column1)[1]', 'varchar(20)'), Rows.n.value('(@column2)[1]', 'nvarchar(100)'), Rows.n.value('(@column3)[1]', 'int'), FROM @xml.nodes('//Rows') Rows(n) However I find that this is getting very slow for even moderate size xml data.

  • Best way to display a background with a pattern in an iPhone/iPad app

    - by Dr Dork
    Here's an example of the type of background image I'm talking about... Clearly, there's a pattern in it. My question is, if this were an iPad app and the background image was twice the size, would there be any significant benefits to taking advantage of this pattern by tiling the image? Or would it really make no difference in terms of performance and just be easier to load the entire image into a UIImageView? Thanks in advance for all your wisdom!

  • non contiguous String object C#.net

    - by Kazoom
    By what i understand String and StringBuilder objects both allocate contiguous memory underneath. My program runs for days buffering several output in a String object. This sometimes cause outofmemoryexception which i think is because of non availability of contiguous memory. my string size can go upto 100MBs and i m concatenating new string frequently this causes new string object being allocated. i can reduce new string object creation by using Stringbuilder but that would not solve my problem entirely Is there an alternative to a contiguous string object?

  • Sifr Horizontal Menu with LI

    - by Rosaiani
    Hello, I am designing a very simple horizontal menu with sIFR and CSS list. The thing about it is that it assigns a certain width to it that makes texts of different widths´ spacing look weird on screen. I´ve seen a default width and height of a certain amount, but what I need is to make it so that the flash is exactly the size of the text. Has anyone bumped into this issue before? Thanks!

  • Memory leaks getting sub-images from video (cvGetSubRect)

    - by dnul
    Hi, i'm trying to do video windowing that is: show all frames from a video and also some sub-image from each frame. This sub-image can change size and be taken from a different position of the original frame. So , the code i've written does basically this: cvQueryFrame to get a new image from the video Create a new IplImage (img) with sub-image dimensions ( window.height,window.width) Create a new Cvmat (mat) with sub-image dimensions ( window.height,window.width) CvGetSubRect(originalImage,mat,window) seizes the sub-image transform Mat (cvMat) to img (IplImage) using cvGetImage my problem is that for each frame i create new IplImage and cvMat which take a lot of memory and when i try to free the allocated memory I get a segmentation fault or in the case of the CvMat the allocated space does not get free (valgrind keeps telling me its definetly lost space). the following code does it: int main(void){ CvCapture* capture; CvRect window; CvMat * tmp; //window size window.x=0;window.y=0;window.height=100;window.width=100; IplImage * src=NULL,*bk=NULL,* sub=NULL; capture=cvCreateFileCapture( "somevideo.wmv"); while((src=cvQueryFrame(capture))!=NULL){ cvShowImage("common",src); //get sub-image sub=cvCreateImage(cvSize(window.height,window.width),8,3); tmp =cvCreateMat(window.height, window.width,CV_8UC1); cvGetSubRect(src, tmp , window); sub=cvGetImage(tmp, sub); cvShowImage("Window",sub); //free space if(bk!=NULL) cvReleaseImage(&bk); bk=sub; cvReleaseMat(&tmp); cvWaitKey(20); //window dimensions changes window.width++; window.height++; } } cvReleaseMat(&tmp); does not seem to have any effect on the total amount of lost memory, valgrind reports the same amount of "definetly lost" memory if i comment or uncomment this line. cvReleaseImage(&bk); produces a segmentation fault. notice i'm trying to free the previous sub-frame which i'm backing up in the bk variable. If i comment this line the program runs smoothly but with lots of memory leaks I really need to get rid of memory leaks, can anyone explain me how to correct this or even better how to correctly perform image windowing? Thank you

  • Searching for SD-cards

    - by Shaddix
    I need to implement searching for SD-cards in my program. Currently I'm using search for all removable devices like: searcher = New Management.ManagementObjectSearcher("\\localhost\root\cimv2", "SELECT DeviceId FROM Win32_LogicalDisk WHERE DriveType=2 AND Size>0"); But it find USB flash drives also. Is there a proper way to find SD-cards only? What I need is in general only drive letter for available SD-cards (like "F:" or so).

  • Setting the first two bytes of a block of memory

    - by idealistikz
    Suppose I have a block of memory as such: void *block = malloc(sizeof(void *) + size); How do I set the first two bytes of the block as NULL or have it point somewhere? I do not want to simply assign 'block' to NULL or to another pointer because I want to access the rest of the memory I malloc'ed.

  • Does Table.InsertOnSubmit create a copy of the original table?

    - by Bryan
    Using InsertOnSubmit seems to have some memory overhead. I have a System.Data.Linq.Table<User> table. When I do table.InsertOnSubmit(user) and then int count = table.Count(), the memory usage of my application increases by roughly the size of the User table, but the count is the number of items before user was inserted. So I'm guess an enumeration after InsertOnSubmit will create a copy of the table. Is that true?

  • My winform application doesn't work on others' pc without vs 2010 installed

    - by wings
    Just like I said, my winform application works properly on computers with VS installed, but on other computers, it will crash due to a FileNotFound Exception. I used using Application = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application; in my source code to generate a Excel file, and the problem occurs as soon as the Excel-related function is called. But I don't know what it refers to exactly. Do I have to get some .dll included along with the .exe file? And what DLL is that? Below are part of my codes: private void FileExport(object objTable) { StartWaiting(); string[,] table = null; try { table = (string[,])objTable; } catch (Exception ex) { ShowStatus(ex.Message, StatusType.Warning); } if (table == null) { return; } Application excelApp = new Application { DisplayAlerts = false }; Workbooks workbooks = excelApp.Workbooks; Workbook workbook = workbooks.Add(XlWBATemplate.xlWBATWorksheet); Worksheet worksheet = (Worksheet)workbook.Worksheets[1]; worksheet.Name = "TABLE"; for (int i = 0; i < table.GetLength(0); i++) { for (int j = 0; j < table.GetLength(1); j++) { worksheet.Cells[i + 1, j + 1] = table[i, j]; } } Range range = excelApp.Range["A1", "H1"]; range.Merge(); range.Font.Bold = true; range.Font.Size = 15; range.RowHeight = 50; range.EntireRow.AutoFit(); range = excelApp.Range["A2", "H8"]; range.Font.Size = 11; range = excelApp.Range["A1", "H8"]; range.NumberFormatLocal = "@"; range.RowHeight = 300; range.ColumnWidth = 50; range.HorizontalAlignment = XlHAlign.xlHAlignCenter; range.VerticalAlignment = XlVAlign.xlVAlignCenter; range.EntireRow.AutoFit(); range.EntireColumn.AutoFit(); worksheet.UsedRange.Borders.LineStyle = 1; Invoke(new MainThreadInvokerDelegate(SaveAs), new object[] { worksheet, workbook, excelApp } ); EndWaiting(); }
