  Simple as that: I have some inputs that are rendered inside another form element, but I want to submit then individually. I tried "serializing" the div that contains them, but it didn't work. Is there an easy way to do this? • I'm having trouble traversing a newly appended DOM element with jQuery

  I have a form that I want to be used to add entries. Once an entry is added, the original form should be reset to prepare it for the next entry, and the saved form should be duplicated prior to resetting and appended onto a div for 'storedEntries.' This much is working (for the most part), but Im having trouble accessing the newly created form... • Saving a Django form with a Many2Many field with through table

• change the return of to_param by action? or, terribly broken edit action if perma-url is returned in

  I did some stuff to have to_param return a perma-url so I'd have seo friendly links. Upon creation and update it will generate and return the perma-url in a to_param method that I put in the model. However this causing me some grief in other areas. I have a form that looks like this: <% @apps.each do |app| %> <% fields_for "[id][]", app do |fields| %> .... this fails terribly since it tries to insert the perma-url in place of the id. If I could just restrict to_param by action, that could solve things. If I change app to app.id, that fails since I have stuff like this: fields.check_box :is_featured . I suppose I could get the app instance, but that feels hacky. Again please excuse my lack of rails-foo ;)

• Codeigniter Form Validation - how to unset form values after success?

  I realise this request goes against the example provided in the CI documentation (which advises a separate 'success' page view), but I would like to reutilise a given form view after a form has been successfully submitted - displaying a success message then displaying a blank form. I've tried a few ways unsuccessfully to clear the validation set values (unsetting $_POST, setting rules / fields to an empty array and rerunning validatio). I could redirect to the same page, but then I'd have to set a session variable to display a success message - which is a messy approach. Any ideas how to achieve the above?

  I have configured a keyboard navigation for customized selects. I have a problem now and these are the steps reproduce the error 1) Do Focus on Input Name 2) Press Tab 3) If you hover and then do click with the mouse in any of the select options, they can not be selected with the mouse click This is the only error, it works perfectly if you move the arrows up and down and then you press the enter o tab, i want to to be able to select the option also with the mouse click after i do the focus with the tab button in the customized select Technically the problem is that the hover with the keyboards up and down is different when i hover with the mouse in the select-options. • Override Django inlineformset_factory has_changed() to always return True

  Hi, I am using the django inlineformset_factory function. a = get_object_or_404(ModelA, pk=id) FormSet = inlineformset_factory(ModelA, ModelB) if request.method == 'POST': metaform = FormSet (instance=a, data=request.POST) if metaform.is_valid(): f = metaform.save(commit=False) for instance in f: instance.updated_by = request.user instance.save() else: metaform = FormSet(instance=a) return render_to_response('nodes/form.html', {'form':metaform}) What is happening is that if I change any of the data then everything works ok and all the data gets updated. However if I don't change any of the data then the data is not updated. i.e. only entries which are changed go through the for loop to be saved. I guess this makes sense as there is no point saving data if it has not changed. However I need to go through and save every object in the form regardless of whether it has any changes on not. So my question is how do I override this so that it goes through and saves every record whether it has any changes or not? Hope this makes sense Thanks

  Hi All, I am making a small form for a php app and had a question regarding javascript validation. What is the best event to run the javascript validation on the input value? Is it the "focusout" event? I used "focusout" to originally but it creates problems when the user hits enter while they are still focused on any particular field in the form. Should I run the js validation when the user clicks submit? Just looking for some advice. Thanks! Chuck

• InfoPath browser form submitting dirty fields changed through javascript

  I'm trying to submit an InfoPath browser form with fields that have been modified through the Spell Checker included in Sharepoint server. The spell checker checks all the fields in the page and once the user closes the SpellChecker dialog, it changes the textboxes with the new values through javascript. When I click Submit, debug the FormEvents_Submit in the form code behind and try to do a GetNodeValue("XPath to changed field"), it still shows the old values. I realize that this may be a problem of doing postbacks and I'd like to do a full page postback once the SpellChecker is done changing all the textboxes. Any suggestions would be appreciated. • Django: Extending User Model - Inline User fields in UserProfile

  Is there a way to display User fields under a form that adds/edits a UserProfile model? I am extending default Django User model like this: class UserProfile(models.Model): user = models.OneToOneField(User, unique=True) about = models.TextField(blank=True) I know that it is possible to make a: class UserProfileInlineAdmin(admin.TabularInline): and then inline this in User ModelAdmin but I want to achieve the opposite effect, something like inverse inlining, displaying the fields of the model pointed by the OneToOne Relationship (User) in the page of the model defining the relationship (UserProfile). I don't care if it would be in the admin or in a custom view/template. I just need to know how to achieve this. I've been struggling with ModelForms and Formsets, I know the answer is somewhere there, but my little experience in Django doesn't allow me to come up with the solution yet. A little example would be really helpful!

  Im building an ad-system where users can dynamically create 'fields' for each ad type. My models and example values: AdType: | id | name |----|----- | 1 | Hotel | 2 | Apartment AdOption: | id | ad_type_id | name |----|------------|----- | 1 | 1 | Star rating | 2 | 1 | Breakfast included? | 3 | 2 | Number of rooms AdValue: (Example after saving) | id | ad_id | ad_option_id | value |----|-------|---------------|------ | 1 | 1 | 1 (stars) | 5 | 2 | 1 | 2 (breakfast) | true Ad: (Example after saving) | id | description | etc.... |----|-----------------|-------- | 1 | very nice hotel | ....... So lets say I want to create a new ad, and I choose Hotel as the ad type. Then I need my view to dynamically create fields like this: (I'm guessing?) [Label] Star rating: [hidden_field :ad_id] [hidden_field :ad_option_id] [text_field :value] [Label] Breakfast included? [hidden_field :ad_id] [hidden_field :ad_option_id] [text_field :value] And also, how to save the values when the ad record is saved I hope this is understandable. If not just ask and I'll try to clarify.

  Hi all, I'm using Wysihat in a rails project and am stumped by it's inability to bind to my textarea named post_description (model name Post field name description). The following in the source of the posts/new HTML: <div id="post_description_editor" class="editor" contenteditable="true"></div> <textarea cols="40" id="post_description" name="post[description]" rows="20" style="display: none; "></textarea> However, when I type something in the description field and click submit the post validation fails saying the description field is empty. • C Builder TForm not allocated or created properly all its controls

  Hi, I would know how i can check that all the controls on the form is created and initialized. I have form i am showing when user presses the 'update' button. It have only TProgressBar control. The handle is not NULL for this control and at random stages it can or can't set the Position/Max values. When i set TProgressBar-Max value to some integer it remains 0 after. So the question is: 1) How to really create the form and all controls on it (i am currently using just Form-Show() method, which as i can check calls the constructor) 2) How to check that all controls on the form is created and PAINTED (showed) Thanks

• Livevalidation: only validate when default value is changed

  Hello there! I am validating my html form with livevalidation and everything works great except for one feature. I have a input field with a default value age, I only want the livevalidation to validate when it says something other than "age". so maybe the user will type in 20 then the validation will fire checking its things but if left as "age" it won't check it all. But as of now, it just checks everything with a validation script and this is a problem for me as I have lots of fields in my form and some of them are optional so when I hit submit, the livevalidation checks the age field as well even if the user didnt touch it to begin with. Would this be possible with livevalidation ? Thanks for the help.

• Oversize cursor in Firefox form with textbox background image

  Hi all, I have a webform with background images on the textboxes to give them a nice rounded corner. In Chrome the textboxes work as expected, however, if I view the form in Firefox the cursor appears to size to the height of the image, but the text is a normal size. Is there a way to override this oversized cursor? Publish your ad http://cl.ly/a58284d90fd380d2c26b (URL /listings/new/purchase?token=5198) So assuming you have Post model where Step 1 usually takes place in the new/create view/actions, how should one continue to Step 2 Preview and then after previewing, proceeding to the Step 3 publishing the post/ad? Do they actually save the ad/post in the database before continuing to Step 2 (Preview) but set a flag (like a boolean field called preview set to true)? It looks like they set a token paramater but I'm not sure what it's used for) I'm interested in this because it seems to go against the CRUD/REST and I thought it would be good to know how it worked.
