If I want to have multiple forms in an appication, can I do it with only
one main? I am working with Visual Studio C# (Windows Application).
Thank you.
I was wonding if there was an alternative to itoa() for converting an integer to a string because when I run it in visual Studio I get warnings, and when I compile my program under Linux, it won't even compile.
Thanks,

I'm looking for code coverage solution which works with silverligt. It must also work with msbuild because we run all the other unit tests automatically in the build server.
Integration with Visual Studio and/or resharper is a plus and I have nothing against easy setup or a pointer to a tutorial. I don't usually modify the build files and unfortunately I don't have time to learn msbuild at the moment.
Hey All,
assuming I'm running a small shop (3 devs) and using a Windows 7 machine as a centralised Git and IIS server what is the easiest way to get CI up and running?
This must be locally hosted CI (no github, no remote servers).
I'm doing C# .Net development with Visual Studio 2008.
Any help on getting this running with the minimum of effort and the nicest possible UI would be extremely helpful.
Thanks!
Hi,
I've got a WCF service that I'm hosting in IIS 7, which I connect to from a .NET page. The service and page work fine when I test it locally from Visual Studio, but when I put it on my staging server I get a TimeoutException.
Any suggestions on how I can debug this to work out what's going wrong?
Why isn't there a designer for native api forms in Visual Studio? Similar to Delphi?
If there exist some programs, tools etc, please advice.
What is the best approach to design complex windows in pure API?
Hi,
Let's say that I have created a WCF proxy from a WCF service (which is configured with wsHttpBinding) using Add Service (in Visual Studio 2008).
Later I want to use basicHttpBinding so I'll go and change the WCF service to use basicHttpBinding. But what about the WCF proxy? Can I just change this via Web.config or do I need to create the WCF proxy again from the WCF service via Add Service?
Thanks
Hi all,
I need to redirect any results in command prompt to richtext box. Can any one provide me the necessary steps. This is how i start my command prompt.
ProcessStartInfo psi = new ProcessStartInfo
{
FileName = "cmd",
Arguments = @"/k ""C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\bin\vcvars32.bat""",
};
Process.Start(psi);
I'v created a Notepad-like application and if I load a 1MB file into the textbox, it takes about 1 minute. The Visual Studio Binary editor displays lines, Hex, and ascii versions in a fraction of a second. How do they get the data into the textbox so quickly?
Thanks
Assume a web page that returns binary content:
http://localhost/website/Default.aspx?FileId=value
and we have some files with known Ids and checksums (i.e. MD5).
How it's possible to extract whole response and calculate it's check-sum via some visual studio webtest ?
I have an asp.net web application that uses an unmanaged 32 bit dll that I have successfully running on my development machine, but when I use web deploy to move the code to our test server, I start seeing BadImageFormat exceptions.
I set the target in visual web developer to x86 and both machines are running 64 bit os's (windows 7 and windows server 2008 r2). I'm not sure what other differences there could be causing the problem. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Hi,
I'm create program and save with Visual studio: test.exe
Then create created program: run.exe, with code:
using System.Diagnostics;
Process run = new Process();
run.StartInfo.FileName = "test.exe";
run.Start();
Why this progran don't start first program(test.exe)?
I've got a cocoa application that reads in a text file. I'd like to display that text in a multi-line label, but I for the life of me can't figure it out. I opened up my .nib file and poped a multi-line label down but after that I'm stuck.
I don't have any experience working with XCode or Cocoa, mostly Eclipse, Visual Studio, and pretty much every other IDE except XCode which seems very foreign.
The Visual C++ editor has a great feature which is that it underlines errors with a red line while typing the code. So for example, if you are using a variable that is not declared, it will underline it with a red curly line. In this way, the programmer can resolve a lot of errors while typing and doesn't have to wait for compiling for noticing them.
Now my question is, is there any editor for Linux that has this great feature?
Hi all
I made a custom sharepoint workflow with Visual studio, the workflow starts when a new item is inserted in a list
I assigned the title of the task to reference a field in the new item
TaskProps.Title = "Please prepare Hardware for project " + workflowProperties.Item["Contract"].ToString().Split('#')[1];
the task title is correct but i find the string (exteranl participant) concatenated the title of the task
what can be the reason for this ?
thanks
Any combo box I create seems to be stuck at 12 dialog units in height. Microsoft's guidelines for spacing and sizing of controls in dialog boxes state that a combo box should be 14 dialog units high.
I have even tried editing the resource file in notepad and recompiling in Visual Studio without opening the resource editor - but the combo boxes are still the wrong size!
Any ideas?
I can connect remotely to my unix server via SSH, both ftp and shell mode using port 22. However I am not able to do so in Visual Studio. I want to be able to edit files live in a GUI interface.
Any solutions for this?
Thanks!
Is there a version of the CUPS server available for Windows? Looking at the CUPS source code it seems it is ready for Visual Studio compilation, but I did not find any trace of an actual supported package. I'd like to set up a CUPS server on Windows so that I can print form Linux/MacOSX/Win clients to printers I set up on this server.
I've implement my activeX control in Delphi. I've build a c# application to embed it. It runs fine on my computer. After that, I copy and paste all c# solution with the my ocx file to another computer, register by regsrv32.exe succeed, add to COM components on visual studio toolbox, compile and run again. It consistently complains '

I'm rendering a DropDownList in my Visual Studio 2005 ASP.NET code behind page out to an HtmlTextWriter, but when I try to add the SelectedIndexChanged event that doesn't get rendered.
Any ideas? Is this even possible?
In Visual Studio 2008, develop legacy windows form (not wpf), I wrote customized resource manager which fetched data from sql server rather than assembly. In windows form, there is property related to language setting. Once I change language, I want to form being updated automatically.

I am trying to deploy a bunch of files in a directory in my MSI setup. As the files will change frequently I don't want to add the files directly but rather have a way of automatically including all files from within a directory and deploy them to a certain location.
I am using a Visual Studio Setup Project.
Anybody know how/if this is possible?
