  • AVD properties for Motorola Flipout?

    - by kefs
I'm looking to create AVDs to test my apps on, and i'm trying to figure out the correct settings for a square screen such as the new Motorola Flip Out. I don't see a wikipedia article for it, or many specs... On a related note, what about tablets? Actually.. Why aren't there a set of AVD instances with params from popular devices.. or at least a site that lists them for each of the 60+ devices. Thanks in advance :)

  • Core Animation bad access on device

    - by user1595102
    I'm trying to do a frame by frame animation with CAlayers. I'm doing this with this tutorial http://mysterycoconut.com/blog/2011/01/cag1/ but everything works with disable ARC, when I'm try to rewrite code with ARC, it's works on simulator perfectly but on device I got a bad access memory. Layer Class interface #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> #import <QuartzCore/QuartzCore.h> @interface MCSpriteLayer : CALayer { unsigned int sampleIndex; } // SampleIndex needs to be > 0 @property (readwrite, nonatomic) unsigned int sampleIndex; // For use with sample rects set by the delegate + (id)layerWithImage:(CGImageRef)img; - (id)initWithImage:(CGImageRef)img; // If all samples are the same size + (id)layerWithImage:(CGImageRef)img sampleSize:(CGSize)size; - (id)initWithImage:(CGImageRef)img sampleSize:(CGSize)size; // Use this method instead of sprite.sampleIndex to obtain the index currently displayed on screen - (unsigned int)currentSampleIndex; @end Layer Class implementation @implementation MCSpriteLayer @synthesize sampleIndex; - (id)initWithImage:(CGImageRef)img; { self = [super init]; if (self != nil) { self.contents = (__bridge id)img; sampleIndex = 1; } return self; } + (id)layerWithImage:(CGImageRef)img; { MCSpriteLayer *layer = [(MCSpriteLayer*)[self alloc] initWithImage:img]; return layer ; } - (id)initWithImage:(CGImageRef)img sampleSize:(CGSize)size; { self = [self initWithImage:img]; if (self != nil) { CGSize sampleSizeNormalized = CGSizeMake(size.width/CGImageGetWidth(img), size.height/CGImageGetHeight(img)); self.bounds = CGRectMake( 0, 0, size.width, size.height ); self.contentsRect = CGRectMake( 0, 0, sampleSizeNormalized.width, sampleSizeNormalized.height ); } return self; } + (id)layerWithImage:(CGImageRef)img sampleSize:(CGSize)size; { MCSpriteLayer *layer = [[self alloc] initWithImage:img sampleSize:size]; return layer; } + (BOOL)needsDisplayForKey:(NSString *)key; { return [key isEqualToString:@"sampleIndex"]; } // contentsRect or bounds changes are not animated + (id < CAAction >)defaultActionForKey:(NSString *)aKey; { if ([aKey isEqualToString:@"contentsRect"] || [aKey isEqualToString:@"bounds"]) return (id < CAAction >)[NSNull null]; return [super defaultActionForKey:aKey]; } - (unsigned int)currentSampleIndex; { return ((MCSpriteLayer*)[self presentationLayer]).sampleIndex; } // Implement displayLayer: on the delegate to override how sample rectangles are calculated; remember to use currentSampleIndex, ignore sampleIndex == 0, and set the layer's bounds - (void)display; { if ([self.delegate respondsToSelector:@selector(displayLayer:)]) { [self.delegate displayLayer:self]; return; } unsigned int currentSampleIndex = [self currentSampleIndex]; if (!currentSampleIndex) return; CGSize sampleSize = self.contentsRect.size; self.contentsRect = CGRectMake( ((currentSampleIndex - 1) % (int)(1/sampleSize.width)) * sampleSize.width, ((currentSampleIndex - 1) / (int)(1/sampleSize.width)) * sampleSize.height, sampleSize.width, sampleSize.height ); } @end I create the layer on viewDidAppear and start animate by clicking on button, but after init I got a bad access error -(void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewDidAppear:animated]; NSString *path = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"mama_default.png" ofType:nil]; CGImageRef richterImg = [UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile:path].CGImage; CGSize fixedSize = animacja.frame.size; NSLog(@"wid: %f, heigh: %f", animacja.frame.size.width, animacja.frame.size.height); NSLog(@"%f", animacja.frame.size.width); richter = [MCSpriteLayer layerWithImage:richterImg sampleSize:fixedSize]; animacja.hidden = 1; richter.position = animacja.center; [self.view.layer addSublayer:richter]; } -(IBAction)animacja:(id)sender { if ([richter animationForKey:@"sampleIndex"]) {NSLog(@"jest"); } if (! [richter animationForKey:@"sampleIndex"]) { CABasicAnimation *anim = [CABasicAnimation animationWithKeyPath:@"sampleIndex"]; anim.fromValue = [NSNumber numberWithInt:0]; anim.toValue = [NSNumber numberWithInt:22]; anim.duration = 4; anim.repeatCount = 1; [richter addAnimation:anim forKey:@"sampleIndex"]; } } Have you got any idea how to fix it? Thanks a lot.

  • NSWindowController window?

    - by Ilija Tovilo
I have a menu-bar based application, which displays a window, when the icon is clicked. It all works fine on Mac OS X Lion, but for some reason, an error occurs on Snow Leopard an sooner versions of Mac OS X. Anytime [TheWindowController window] is called the method stops, but the app keeps running. Because of this, I don't think that the window is just nil, it's corrupt, in some way. I have no Idea why this happens, and like I said, it only happens in Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Btw. I use ARC, if that matters at all. Thank you!

  • ASP.NET MVC: How to Display custom object properties in View page

    - by Shyju
I am trying to add ASP.NET MVC features(Especially Routing) to my already existing ASP.NET Web application.I added a Controlled and View (an asp.net page) .Now i want to know how can i display the details of object of my custom class( Ex : User) in the view ? Can assign the object in ViewData collection and render it in the view ? Hows that ? I already have a Datalayer (in ADO.NET) which is running for the the current ASP.NET web app.So i want to use that. I tried this in my controller public ActionResult Index() { BusinessObject.User objUser = new BusinessObject.User(); objUser.EmailId = "[email protected]"; objUser.ProfileTitle = "Web developer with 6 yrs expereince"; ViewData["objUser"] = objUser; ViewData["Message"] = "This is ASP.NET MVC!"; return View(); } How can i use this in the view page to display the user details ? Thanks in advance

  • Relational MySQL - fetched properties?

    - by Kelso.b
    I'm currently using the following PHP code: // Get all subordinates $subords = array(); $supervisorID = $this->session->userdata('supervisor_id'); $result = $this->db->query(sprintf("SELECT * FROM users WHERE supervisor_id=%d AND id!=%d",$supervisorID, $supervisorID)); $user_list_query = 'user_id='.$supervisorID; foreach($result->result() as $user){ $user_list_query .= ' OR user_id='.$user->id; $subords[$user->id] = $user; } // Get Submissions $submissionsResult = $this->db->query(sprintf("SELECT * FROM submissions WHERE %s", $user_list_query)); $submissions = array(); foreach($submissionsResult->result() as $submission){ $entriesResult = $this->db->query(sprintf("SELECT * FROM submittedentries WHERE timestamp=%d", $submission->timestamp)); $entries = array(); foreach($entriesResult->result() as $entries) $entries[] = $entry; $submissions[] = array( 'user' => $subords[$submission->user_id], 'entries' => $entries ); $entriesResult->free_result(); } Basically I'm getting a list of users that are subordinates of a given supervisor_id (every user entry has a supervisor_id field), then grabbing entries belonging to any of those users. I can't help but think there is a more elegant way of doing this, like SELECT FROM tablename where user->supervisor_id=2222 Is there something like this with PHP/MySQL? Should probably learn relational databases properly sometime. :(

  • Using linq select to provide a grid datasource, properties are read-only

    - by Kelly
I am using the return from the following call as the datasource for a grid. public object GetPropertyDataSourceWithCheckBox( ) { return ( from p in LocalProperties join c in GetCities( ) on p.CityID equals c.CityID orderby p.StreetNumber select new { Selected = false, p.PropertyID, p.StreetNumber, p.StreetName, c.CityName } ).ToList( ); } I get a checkbox in the grid, but it is READ-ONLY. [For the record, the grid is DevExpress.] Is there a way around this, short of creating a non-anonymous class?

  • ARC, worth it or not?

    - by MSK
When I moved to Objective C (iOS) from C++ (and little Java) I had hard time understanding memory management in iOS. But now all this seems natural and I know retain, autorelease, copy and release stuff. After reading about ARC, I am wondering is there more benefits of using ARC or it is just that you dont have to worry about memory management. Before moving to ARC I wanted to know how worth is moving to ARC. XCode has "Convert to Objective C ARC" menu. Is the conversion is that simple (nothing to worry about)? Does it help me in reducing my apps memory foot-print, memory leaks etc (somehow ?) Does it has much testing impact on my apps ? What are non-obvious advantages? Any Disadvantage os moving to it?

  • Problem with access to control properties in Multibox

    - by greatromul
I used multibox-component to create lightbox-similar div. But I faced problem. I placed textbox with id ‘tbx_position’ in that div. I entered some symbols in textbox and then tried to read value via javascript-function (it had to alert document.getElementById(‘tbx_position’).value). Every time that value was empty. There is example of it. Furthermore, if I place in the div asp:Button, server OnClick-eventhandler doesn’t catch fire. Is any idea, what’s reason? Thanks.

  • Save VM properties with EF code first

    - by Julien
I thought this would be simple but can't find any good examples. public Class BookVm : ImplementsPropertyChanged { public int BookId {get;set;} private bool _favorite; public bool Favorite { get { return _favorite; } set { _favorite = value; OnPropertyChanged("Favorite"); MyDbContext.SaveChanges() // this does not work } } Then in my XAML bound to Book <CheckBox Content="Favorite" IsChecked="{Binding Favorite}" /> How and when do I call SaveChanges() on my DatabaseContext? I don't want to implement a save button. If I intercept the PropertyChange event and call SaveChanges, nothing seems to happen. My object is modified in memory but the database does not see a change. My BookVm class is created on application startup like so: foreach (var book in MyDbContext.Books) Books.Add(book); Where Books is an ObservableCollection<Book> in my MainWindowVm

  • How to detect default printer properties from browser?

    - by Annan
Regardless of if this is a good idea or not, is it possible to detect printer attributes from the browser? The idea is that you want to print out a brochure that's selling something. Depending on different things such as if the printer is black&white/colour, high/low resolution, laser/inkjet, printing to a file, etc, you want to print out the page differently. For example you might choose different text colours or fonts, different image sizes, etc. My initial thoughts are: ActiveX, Flash, Java, Silverlight, browser plugins. Kudos if it's possible in javascript. I'm interested in all ways to do this, cross browser or not. Please no reasons about why this shouldn't be done ^_^

  • Access Profile Provider property values in ASPX files

    - by AsM
We have several companies using one web application. Companies may decide to display different values in Labels. e.g. CompanyA - ZipCodeCaption = "Zip Code" CompanyB - ZipCodeCaption = "Pin Code" CompanyA - USDSymbolCaption = "USD" CompanyB - USDSymbolCaption = "$" We are using profile provider to store each company's settings. We would like to access these profile values in ASPX to assign values to Label's text properties just like Web Config app settings are accessed in aspx. e.g. " Is this possible? Is there a better way to go about doing this?

  • Changing properties of controls that were added at runtime

    - by user257412
I have a form in which several buttons are added at runtime via a 'for' method public Form() { for (int i = 0 ... ) Button b = new Button() b.text = (string) i ; etc.. etc.. } . now i wish to change the text property of the buttons on a certain event. How can this be accomplished? I have tried a few things but none worked.. since the buttons variables are inside the method , they are not available outside. Thanks

  • boost::python string-convertible properties

    - by Checkers
I have a C++ class, which has the following methods: class Bar { ... const Foo& getFoo() const; void setFoo(const Foo&); }; where class Foo is convertible to std::string (it has an implicit constructor from std::string and an std::string cast operator). I define a Boost.Python wrapper class, which, among other things, defines a property based on previous two functions: class_<Bar>("Bar") ... .add_property( "foo", make_function( &Bar::getFoo, return_value_policy<return_by_value>()), &Bar::setFoo) ... I also mark the class as convertible to/from std::string. implicitly_convertible<std::string, Foo>(); implicitly_convertible<Foo, std::string>(); But at runtime I still get a conversion error trying to access this property: TypeError: No to_python (by-value) converter found for C++ type: Foo How to achieve the conversion without too much boilerplate of wrapper functions? (I already have all the conversion functions in class Foo, so duplication is undesirable.

  • Problem with Closure properties of context free languages

    - by altius
hello i have the following sentence a language L1={a^n * b^n : n=0} and L2={b^n * a^n : n=0} are context free languages so they are close a=under the L1L2 so L={a^n * b^2n A^n : n=0} must be context free too because it is generated by a close property I have to prove if this sentence is true or not so i check the L language and i do not think that it is context free then i also saw that L2 is L1 reversed do i have to check if L1, L2 are deterministic ? please help because i am in a dead end

  • How can I support conditional validation of model properties

    - by Jeff
I currently have a form that I am building that needs to support two different versions. Each version might use a different subset of form fields. I have to do this to support two different clients, but I don't want to have entirely different controller actions for both. So, I am trying to come up with a way to use a strongly typed model with validation attributes but have some of these attributes be conditional. Some approaches I can think of is similar to steve sanderson's partial validation approach. Where I would clear the model errors in a filter OnActionExecuting based on which version of the form was active. The other approach I was thinking of would to break the model up into pieces using something like class FormModel { public Form1 Form1Model {get; set;} public Form2 FormModel {get; set;} } and then we would validate appropriately depending on

  • JavaScript window object element properties

    - by Timothy
A coworker showed me the following code and asked me why it worked. <span id="myspan">Do you like my hat?</span> <script type="text/javascript"> var spanElement = document.getElementById("myspan"); alert("Here I am! " + spanElement.innerHTML + "\n" + myspan.innerHTML); </script> I explained that a property is attached to the window object with the name of the element's id when the browser parses the document which then contains a reference to the appropriate dom node. It's sort of as if window.myspan = document.getElementById("myspan") is called behind the scenes as the page is being rendered. The ensuing discussion we had raised a few of questions: The window object and most of the DOM are not part of the official JavaScript/ECMA standards, but is the above behavior documented in any other official literature, perhaps browser-related? The above works in a browser (at least the main contenders) because there is a window object, but fails in something like rhino. Is writing code that relys on this considered bad practice because it makes too many assumptions about the execution environment? Are there any browsers in which the above would fail, or is this considered standard behavior across the board? Does anyone here know the answers to those questions and would be willing to enlighten me? I tried a quick internet search, but I admit I'm not sure how to even properly phrase the query. Pointers to references and documentation are welcome.

  • Working with multiple GIT severs

    - by th3flyboy
Hello, I have a question. Is it possible to set up a system so that you have a private GIT server that you host, which automatically syncs with a remote one, hosted by a site like Sourceforge, and then you can commit your local to the private GIT server, and then when you have to merge the changes from your private wip branches that are on your private GIT over to the master/branch/tag from the public GIT, and then push the change to the public GIT? I ask this because I have a lot of personal work I would like to get working before putting it up for the public to see, and I'm shifting between several computers/operating systems in the process. If this is not possible in standard GIT, are there any other options that would allow me to do this? Thanks, Peter

  • Character sets offered in the Eclipse properties

    - by bmargulies
I've just been handed a pile of Java source that, I suspect, is in ISO-8859-8. Eclipse's menu of charsets, here on my Mac, does not include that. Or any of a wide variety of other encodings supported by the JDK. Is there a recipe for expanding the list of encodings that show up in the menu?

  • How to automatically email customers registration keys?

    - by Danny
I've written a bit of software that I'd like to share with others (a Mac Dashboard widget, specifically), but I'd also like to be compensated a bit for the time I spent on it. I've devised my own simple registration key algorithm, which takes a customer's email address and creates a 12-character alphanumeric key. The software itself is finished, demo limitations, key validation & all. I just need to get the keys to customers. How do I simply alert a key generation script to automatically email a customer a key, upon notification that they paid my account? Can I use PayPal IPN & JavaScript? The simplest solution will do - this is a five dollar widget. :)

  • How to validate properties across Models without repeating the validation logic

    - by Mano
Hello All, I am building a ASP.NET Mvc app. I have a Data model say User public class user { public int userId {get; private set}; public string FirstName {get; set;} } The validation to be done is that the firstname cannot exceed 50 characters. I have another presentation model in which i have the property FirstName too. I do not want to repeat the validation logic in both the models. I want to have it in one place and that should be it. I can do it in a simpler way by adding a function which can be called while setting the property like private string firstName; public string FirstName { get { return firstName; } set { if (PropertyValidator.ValidName(value)) // assuming ValidName exists and it will throw an exception if the value is not valid { firstName = value; } } } But I am looking for something much simpler so that I do not need to add this for every property I need to have it validated. I looked at ValidationAttribute but then again I can validate this only from a controller (ModelState.IsValid). Since this model could be used by some other type of apps like console app, I could not choose that. But if there is a way to use the Mvc's ModelState.IsValid from outside of a controller, that would be awesome. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

  • Checking lazy loaded properties have been instantiated

    - by PaulG
In a class which has a lazy loaded property, such as: private Collection<int> someInts; public Collection<int> SomeInts { get { if (this.someInts == null) this.someInts = new Collection<int>(); return this.someInts; } } Is it worth also having a property such as: public bool SomeIntsExist { get { return (this.someInts != null && this.someInts.Count > 0); } } And then using that property.. eg: if (thatClass.SomeIntsExist) { // do something with thatClass.SomeInts collection } or is this premature optimisation. Its certainly easier to roll with something like below, but it will instantiate the collection needlessly: if (thatClass.SomeInts.Count > 0) { // do something with thatClass.SomeInts collection } Is the compiler smart enough to figure things like this out? Is there a better way?

  • changing css properties via javascript

    - by tic
I need a function to change the appearance of some elements in my html page "on the fly", but I am not able to do. The problem is that I cannot use a command like document.write ('body {background-color: #cccccc;}'); because I need to make the changes effective when the page is already loaded, using a link like <a onmouseclick="Clicker(1)" href="#">clic</a> and I cannot use a command like document.body.style.background='#cccccc'; because I do not know if it can be applied to other not so easy cases, because I need to change the appearance of elements such as td.myclass or sibling elements such as th[scope=col]+th[scope=col]+th[scope=col]. How can I do it? Thanks!

  • Does it make a difference in performance if I use self.fooBar instead of fooBar?

    - by mystify
Note: I know exactly what a property is. This question is about performance. Using self.fooBar for READ access seems a waste of time for me. Unnecessary Objective-C messaging is going on. The getters typically simply pass along the ivar, so as long as it's pretty sure there will be no reasonable getter method written, I think it's perfectly fine to bypass this heavy guy. Objective-C messaging is about 20 times slower than direct calls. So if there is some high-performance-high-frequency code with hundreds of properties in use, maybe it does help a lot to avoid unnessessary objective-c messaging? Or am I wasting my time thinking about this?
