  • Undesired Output of Crontab Job Using CURL

    I have written a perl script that runs as a daily crontab job that uploads files to Amazon S3 via CURL. I want the output of the cron job emailed to me which works fine but I don't want that email to include messages related to the CURL upload (only those message my script is outputting).   • Please help with IFrame callback

    Hi - thanks for clicking. I am trying to get status feedback using an IFrame for file uploads. I am not trying to get progress or percentages - just when a file is done uploading and if it was a success or failure. THE PROBLEM is that I can't seem to get the server response to appear on the client. I have to following design: I have an iframe on my page: <iframe id="target_frame" src="" style="border:0px; width:0px; height:0px"></iframe> The form tag points to it: <form enctype="multipart/form-data" id="fileUploadForm" name="fileUploadForm" action="picupload.aspx" method="post" target="target_frame"> And the submit button starts a file upload via the iframe: <input id="submit" type="submit" value="upload" /> In the picupload.aspx.cs file, I have a method that returns dynamic data. I then send it to the client: message = data; Response.Write(String.Format("<script language='javascript' type='text/javascript'>window.parent.handleResponse('{0}');</script>", message)); On the client, I have a response handler: function handleResponse(msg) { document.getElementById('statusDiv').innerHTML = msg; } My intent is to see the msg value change for each uploaded file but I never see anything appear in statusDiv, let alone dynamically changing messages.   • DBIx::Class base result class

    Hi there, I am trying to create a model for Catalyst by using DBIx::Class::Schema::Loader. I want the result classes to have a base class I can add methods to. So MyTable.pm inherits from Base.pm which inherits from DBIx::Class::core (default). Somehow I cannot figure out how to do this. my create script is below, can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Postscript This script is really awful, but has the redeeming quality that it Works On My Systems. Note that several mount points may be prefixes of $path. Examples On a Linux system: cas@txtproof:~$ path=/sys/block/hda1 cas@txtproof:~$ for i in $(df -a|cut -c 57-99); do case $path in $i*) echo $i;; esac; done| tail -1 /sys On a Mac osx system cas local$ path=/dev/fd/0 cas local$ for i in $(df -a|cut -c 63-99); do case $path in $i*) echo $i;; esac; done| tail -1 /dev Note the need to vary cut's parameters, because of the way df's output differs: indeed, awk is better. Answer It looks like munging tabular output is the only way within the shell, but df /dev/fd/impossible | tail -1 | awk '{ print $NF}' is a big improvement on what I had. Note two differences in semantics: firstly, df $path insists that $path names an existing file, the script I had above doesn't care; secondly, there are no worries about dereferncing symlinks. It's not difficult to write Python code to do the job.

  • Compilig + testing an Android library with the JDK?

    Hi all, I am creating a library for Android that others can include in their own project. So far I have been working on it as a normal Java project with JDK 1.6 setup as system library. This works just fine in Eclipse when I add the android.jar. The issue comes when I try to my build script. I am running Gradle and doing a normal compile and test build cycle. My thoughts were that it does not matter if I compile it with a normal JDK, since this is not a standalone application. The benefits by creating a normal Java project is that Gradle does support this much better. My project also does not contain any UI at all. However, the problem is that of course android.jar and the JDK contains lots of the same classes and I think that this is what messes up my build script. Everything crashes when running the tests (the tests are in the same project under src/test/java). My question is, how should I create this project that is meant to be included in Android projects as a third party library? Should I create it as an Android project in Eclipse even though I am only creating a library that does not use any of the UI features? Also, should the tests be in a separate project?   • jQuery: If, Else with buttons error

    I'm running into an odd error. I'm working in Django 1.2, and have implemented the commenting framework. I'm trying to attach a hide/show button to each comment field, but whenever click on a hide/show button, it behaves as if each hide/show button beneath it on the page was clicked. Here's the jQuery code: <input type="Button" id="hideShow" name="hide/show" value="Hide"></input> <script> $("#hideShow").click(function() { if($(this).val() == "Hide") { $("textarea").hide("fast"); $(this).val("Show"); } else { $("textarea").show("fast"); $(this).val( "Hide"); } }); </script> So, when I click the Hide/show button, it will perform the action for each button beneath the clicked button + once for the button itself. So If I click a button, and there are two buttons beneath it, and value=hide it will first hide the 'textarea', than show the text area, than finally hide it again. I'm new to jQuery (although I do have experience in other languages), and I have an -idea- why it's not working: that whenever an action is performed jQuery jumps to the first one, than continues down the page looking for any other actions performed, and responds to each one. So it comes to my first button, sets it as being clicked, and so when jQuery comes across the other buttons it views them all as being 'clicked' and performs actions accordingly. I've thought of a semi-solution to my problem, putting in a variable which tracks how many times it has gone through, and than acting based on -that- action. But I would rather not do that, since it's not really a solution to the problem at hand but a work around. Any input is appreciated.

Iam happy! Why not the same happens when i try to do from the browser (i tested in IE6 & Chrome) using javascript:document.getElementById("myInput").type="text" different browsers behave in different way... when i tried javascript:document.getElementById("myInput").value="myNewValue", IE6 changes the value, but chrome doesn't.. Why is this "javascript:" behaving like this ?

    I am "porting" an application I wrote in C++ into Python. This is the current workflow: Application is started from the console Application parses CLI args Application reads an ini configuration file which specifies which plugins to load etc Application starts a timer Application iterates through each loaded plugin and orders them to start work. This spawns a new worker thread for the plugin The plugins carry out their work and when completed, they die When time interval (read from config file) is up, steps 5-7 is repeated iteratively Since I am new to Python (2 days and counting), the distinction between script, modules and packages are still a bit hazy to me, and I would like to seek advice from Pythonista as to how to implement the workflow described above, using Python as the programing language. In order to keep things simple, I have decided to leave out the time interval stuff out, and instead run the python script/scripts as a cron job instead. This is how I am thinking of approaching it: Encapsulate the whole application in a package which is executable (i.e. can be run from the command line with arguments. Write the plugins as modules (I think maybe its better to implement each module in a separate file?) I havent seen any examples of using threading in Python yet. Could someone provide a snippet of how I could spawn a thread to run a module. Also, I am not sure how to implement the concept of plugins in Python - any advice would be helpful - especially with a code snippet.

This function below is in the controller, it gets called when &task=remove. Should the database stuff be in the Model?   • How to write automated tests for SQL queries?

    The current system we are adopting at work is to write some extremely complex queries which perform multiple calculations and have multiple joins / sub-queries. I don't think I am experienced enough to say if this is correct or not so I am agreeing and attempting to function with this system as it has clear benefits. The problem we are having at the moment is that the person writing the queries makes a lot of mistakes and assumes everything is correct. We have now assigned a tester to analyse all of the queries but this still proves extremely time consuming and stressful. I would like to know how we could create an automated procedure (without specifically writing it with code if possible as I can work out how to do that the long way) to verify a set of 10+ different inputs, verify the output data and say if the calculations are correct. I know I could write a script using specific data in the database and create a script using c# (the db is SQL Server) and verify all the values coming out but I would like to know what the official "standard" is as my experience is lacking in this area and I would like to improve.   • Adding date to multiple fields via datepicker

    i have a form in drupal with jquery based date module. there are multiple fields with date picker enabled. i want to set the value of all of them (they all have class .date-popup-init) to the value of the first field (#edit-field, the 'from' date) when that field is set. my code so far: <script type="text/javascript"> var DatePicked = function() { var firstdate = $("#edit-field"); var updater = firstdate.datepicker("getDate"); $(".date-popup-init").each(function(){ $(this).datepicker("setDate", updater); }); } $(function() { $("#edit-field").datepicker({ onSelect: DatePicked }); }); </script> this seems to randomly work; it sets the date of some fields to the value of #edit-field, seemingly different fields each time. also, the form adds more datepicker-enabled fields via ajax. is there any way to ensure that all these new fields, when they load, pick up the value of #edit-field as well? disclaimer: last night was my first attempt at javascript of any kind. i have a basic idea now. the above was cobbled through countless google examples.

    I have a text file (myurls.txt) whose contents are a list of URLs as follow: Slides_1: http://linux.koolsolutions.com/svn/ProjectA/tags/REL-1.0 Exercise_1: http://linux.koolsolutions.com/svn/ProjectA/tags/REL-1.0 Slides_2: http://linux.koolsolutions.com/svn/oldproject/ProjectB/tags/REL-2.0 Exercise_2: http://linux.koolsolutions.com/svn/ProjectB/tags/REL-1.0 Exercise_3: http://linux.koolsolutions.com/svn/BlueBook/ProjectA/tags/REL-1.0 Now I want to parse this text file in a for loop such that after each iteration (for e.g. take the first url from the above file) I have the following information into different variables: %i% = REL-1.0 %j% = http://linux.koolsolutions.com/svn/ProjectA %k% = http://linux.koolsolutions.com/svn/ProjectA/tags/REL-1.0 After some experiment I have the following code but it only works (kind of) if the URLs have same number of slashes: @echo off set FILE=myurls.txt FOR /F "tokens=2-9 delims=/ " %%i in (%FILE%) do ( @REM <do something with variables i, j and k.> ) I am fine with other solutions like for e.g. using Windows Script Host/VBS script as long as it can run with a default Windows XP/7 installation. In other words, I know I can use awk, grep, sed, python, etc. for Windows and get the job done but I don't want the users to have to install anything besides a standard windows installation.

  • jQuery Validate on form submitted by JavaScript

    My form is submitted by a link using JavaScript, but I am also trying to validate the from justing jQuery validate. The validation doesn't work when submitted by the link, but it does if I change the link to a submit button. What am I doing wrong?
