    Hi all, i creating an small application in Delphi 2009. here i got problem that when i run my application in WindowsXP its working but it is not working in Windows95. i know the problem that 95 will not support Unicode. if anyone knows the solution please tell me. and also i have one more idea that converting Unicode to ASCII. is it possible please tell how to do that.     I have a website for public users, but also have an admin part of about 10 pages, that I need to secure for website admin only. If I implement Forms-Based Authentication on the 10 pages, will it also spread across the public part of the website too? i.e. changes in web.config. I was looking at this example (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/301240) but it looks like it closes off public view for entire application!?! Regards Tea

    Hi, I recently contacted a web host regarding support for external database access to a Microsoft SQL Server database included in a package they offer. They replied saying that it is only possible with an SSH-tunnel. Is it possible to connect to a SQL Server database in Visual Studio using an SSH-tunnel? It is important for me to be able to access the database from my local machine (for debugging, generating LINQ classes, editing tables, etc). Or, how should I go about working with their database?

  • From a Java programming perspective, what difference does multicast make to a networking program?

    My manager has asked me to assess what changes would be required to add multicast support to a socket-based TCP/IP networking program that is part of a trading system. As far as I can tell, from the perspective of a Java program, it doesn't seem to matter too much whether the program is unicast or multicast. Doesn't the Java networking API make all of this transparent? By this I mean, wouldn't the change be a simple one of simply adding additional destinations for the outgoing connections?

    I am getting a SqlConnection does not support parallel transactions. exception and this answer mentions its when a connection tries to open two transactions. This is exactly what i am doing. I thought nested transactions were ok (i was using sqlite for the prototype). How do i check if the connection is already in a transaction? I am using Microsoft SQL Server Database File.

  • javascript: use getElementsByName for 'this'?

    I need to get some children elements and loop over them using inline javascript for a onmouseover event. When I try to use this.getElementsByName I'm getting an error that the object does not support this property. I was under the impression that getElementsByName work for element objects which I thought 'this' would be considered. Anyone have any other ideas on how I can achieve this?

    In CVS, we could programatically create a new branch of existing source using the "rtag" command, which did not require a copy of the repository. Does git support functionality of this kind, making a branch of existing files in a remote git repository without having a local copy of it? Or does the distributed nature of git preclude this? (I'm trying to save the 20+ minutes it would take to make a freestanding copy of the repository, just to run a 'git branch' command.)

    Hello guys, I would like to ask what is the ideal folder structure for a MVC framework that should be able to support multiple installations. For example, I install xyz framework and i run two or more sites based on this single installation of xyz framework rather than installing the framework for each site. This is probably done in Codeigniter too but i don't know much about CodeIgniter, so i need your suggestions. I know some of you might even have better idea than what is done by CodeIgniter, so please share.

I'm planning to use Ubuntu 9.04, but I am willing to switch distro's for compatibility. Does anybody know of any scales that currently work?   • In GWT 2.1.0.M2 the options "-style pretty" couldn't be recognized

    I am using GWT eclipse plugin and try to add option "-style pretty" inside arguments tab of debug configuration window in eclipse. But after click debug it just prompts "Unknown argument: -style". I used to use webcreator to create gwt app. this is my first time to use plugin and i am not sure i put it into the right place or gwt 2.1.0.M2 just doesn't support this option (which is wired). Please help me thanks in advance.

    I'd like the user to specify a RSS feed address and serialize the information from it. I am not interested in the XML format, but populate a strongly typed object from the XML. My question is, is there a standard that all RSS feeds support (Do all of them have date, title etc)? If so, is there a XSD that describes this. If not, how do I handle serializing a RSS feed to an object in ASP.NET?
