  • ITaskbarList3 undeclared?

    I'm trying to write some c++ code to use the ITaskbarList3, but I'm getting that error. I have confirmed that I am including shobjidl.h (but I checked and this file only defines up to ITaskbarList2). I have Visual Studios 2008 (SP1) and I have Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows Server 2008 installed. Does anyone know what I am missing?

I know you can use IE to analyse the xml log file, and we get a visual generate by the xsl file, but my xml log file have 97 MO and the IE performance is not got.   • Should I partition my main table with 2 millions rows?

    Hi, I am a developer and would need some DBA-advices. We are starting to get performance problem with a MSSQL2005 database. The visible effects of the incidents is mainly CPU-hog on the server but operations reported that it was also draining resources from the SAN (not always). the main source of issues is for sure in some application but I am wondering if we should partition some of the main tables anyway in order to relax the I/O pressure. The base is about 60GB in one file. The main table (order) has 2.1 Million rows with a 215 colones (but none is huge). We have an integer as PK so it should be OK to define a partition function. Will we win something with partitioning? will partition indexes buy us something? I used the prebuild event to change it in the AssemblyInfo.cs but a few times visual studio doesnt get this change and compiles it with the previous product name. So i prefer to change it after compiling from another executable (all in c#)

  • Unable to get project info and source control from a particular machine

    From one particular machine, accounts are unable to get tfs project info and source control via the visual studio tfs client. The connection with the tfs server is made but the project content remains empty. Web access is possible from this machine. Note: from all other machines everything works normally, so it must be a local machine issue. What might be misconfigured on this machine? Otherwise there seem to be no problems on this XP machine.

  • Make a Button Appear Focused When Not

    The Find and Replace dialog in Visual Studio is a perfect example of what im trying to accomplish. Notice how the "Find what" text field has keyboard focus but the "Find Next" button appears bluish as if it has keyboard focus also even though it does not. How can I accomplish this myself? I've tried messing with FocusManager and Focus Scopes without much luck. I suspect i may be barking up the wrong tree? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks

  • USB seems to pause system

    I've an application that does some simple measuring, for which it polls a few 100kbs several times a second (8-25 times) The behaviour is not really dependant on chipset (happens on several mobo's intel 965- P55) and OSes (XPsp3 and win7). Also the make of the USB keyboard doesn't seem to matter. I notice that sometimes when an USB kbd is plugged in, the system pauses for say 500-1000ms. (about 900-1000ms on disconnect, and 400-500 on the subsequent connect) It also happens for other USB devices (most notably mice and massstorage devices), but only the first time such device is connected to an installation. This disrupts the measurement and I really would like to get rid on this. I already tried to disable as much as possible. (powersave, teletubby mode (*) etc), and while this helped with the non-USB related disruptions of the measurement, it doesn't help with the USB related ones. (*) fyi, turning off themes (to resp. classic/non-aero), and turning off effects in system solved problems that occured when minimizing/maximizing the app. Any pointers to look into? I'm a bit stuck with this.

  • Why is my global security group being filtered out of my logon token?

    While investigating the effects of filtered tokens on my file permissions, I noticed that one of my global security groups is being filtered in addition to the regular system-defined filtered groups. My Active Directory environment is a single-domain forest on the Windows Server 2003 functional level. I'll call the domain "mydomain.example.com". I am logged onto a Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition machine (not a domain controller) as a member of the "MYDOMAIN\Domain Admins" group and the "MYDOMAIN\MySecurityGroup" global security group (among others). When I run "whoami /groups" from an elevated command prompt, I see the full list of groups to which my account belongs as expected. When I run "whoami /groups" from a regular, non-elevated command prompt, I see the same list of groups, but the following groups are described as "Group used for deny only". BUILTIN\Administrators MYDOMAIN\Schema Admins MYDOMAIN\Offer Remote Assistance Helpers MYDOMAIN\MySecurityGroup Numbers 1 through 3 above are expected based on Microsoft documentation; number 4 is not. The "MYDOMAIN\MySecurityGroup" global security group is a group that I created. It contains three non-built-in global security groups, and these security groups contain only non-built-in user accounts. (That is, I created all of the accounts and groups that are members of the "MYDOMAIN\MySecurityGroup" global security group.) There are other, similar groups of which my account is a member that are not being filtered out of my logon token, and this group is not granted any specific user rights in the security settings of this computer or in Group Policy. What would cause this one group to be filtered out of my logon token?

    What debugging tools are available for directshow filters? Presently, I have a project that compiles and registers a video source filter that I then setup a graph in GraphEdit. I am using c++ in visual studio 2008. Is it possible to get a debugger attached to the filter in any way where I could set break points, inspect variables, etc? Barring that is there a way to log diagnostic information somewhere that I can view in real time?
