  • Skeleton framework spacing

    - by user1745014
    I tried to ask this question late lastnight but I was so sleepy i typed the question completely wrong. I'm looking to float my navigation to the right of its current position around 200px more, there is room but it wont move over. You can view the live code here - www.xronn.co.uk/hosting and here is an image to explain my issue a little more http://i.stack.imgur.com/JtL0C.png purple lines the 960px width of the site blue line shows the space free for the navigation to go and the red arrows of course shows which direction i want the navigation to go in (the right) Anyone got any clue why when I push to more to the right, the list starts to sit under each other

  • How do I display/compare a dynamic value of a mysql row in a if statement?

    - by Ralph The Mouf
    I have a checkboxes on my site that when unchecked, update their row in in the db as unchecked, and if checked,update their row in the db as checked. I am creating an ifstatement that will commence with its command if checked, and not if unchecked. I have echoed the variable and it is holding the proper value (checked or unchecked) but not sure if I am syntactically correct on displaying the state of the row in the db. This is what I am trying and will not work. I am new at php still and thank you very much for any help. if($auth->check_prof == 'checked'){// do the stuff in here}

  • What about WebSafe colors

    - by forgloriouskeeponlowing
    My father with whom I'm going to create a website (I just got him away from using Dreamweaver and font-tags) keeps talking about WebSafe colors he has to use for the background images. I keep telling him that that was about 1999 but he doesn't believe me. What are WebSafe colors? When and where were they needed? What the hell anyway? This is no joke.

  • Issue creating side-by-side slideshows with jQuery

    - by JShweky
    I'm trying to create a site with 2 slideshows. I've tweaked and re-tweaked the JS and Jquery numerous times. Sometimes one slideshow works perfectly and the other cycles between one picture, other times both work but are out of sync, or the fadeIn doesn't seem to be applied to the second slideshow, or in some variations one slideshow stays frozen on the initial image and just remains static. Anyway, I created a JS Fiddle (link at bottom) and apparently my code is at least free of typos. JS is below, the rest is on the JS Fiddle. Any help would be greatly appreciated. $(document).ready(function () { $(".slider #1").fadeIn(1000); $(".slider #1").delay(2000).fadeOut(1000); var sc = $(".slider img").size(); var count = 2; setInterval(function () { $(".slider #" + count).fadeIn(1000); $(".slider #" + count).delay(2000).fadeOut(1000); if (count === sc) { count = 1; } else { count++; } }, 3500); $(".sliderTwo #7").fadeIn(1000); $(".sliderTwo #7").delay(2000).fadeOut(1000); var sc2 = 12; var count2 = 7; setInterval(function () { $(".sliderTwo #" + count2).fadeIn(1000); $(".sliderTwo #" + count2).delay(2000).fadeOut(1000); if (count2 === sc2) { count2 = 7; } else { count2++; } }, 3500); }); http://jsfiddle.net/gg4PL/

  • How to change the color of fixed navigation links when it reaches a certain section?

    - by thosetinydreams
    I'm trying to figure out how to change the color of the links in my fixed navigation (placed on the side of the page) when it reaches a certain section on the page (because the background of that section is the same color as the links in my navigation). I am a jQuery newbie, so I don't really know how to go about this. I tried this, naively thinking it might work (but, as you guessed it, it didn't): if ($('.fixednav').offset().top == $('.intro-section').offset().top) { $('.fixednav a').css('color', '#ececef'); } If anyone could give me a hint, I'd be really grateful!

  • Make div expand only horizontally when more floating divs are added to it

    - by Wesam
    I am trying to make a div that contains other floating divs to adjust its width such that adding more floating divs (dynamically using jQuery) will only expand the div in its width, not allowing the floating divs to create a new line. Therefore, I want to fix this issue such that each div with class grid-row only expands in width, and so I will be able to scroll using the overflow: scroll for the parent grid div. I have searched a lot for answers, and it seems that it is a famous issue. However, non of the answer solved my problem. I am currently doing this: <div id="grid_container"> <div id="grid"> <div class="grid_row"> <div class="module" id="experience"> Experience </div> <div class="header"> Google </div> <div class="header"> Microsoft </div> </div> <div class="grid_row"> </div> </div> </div> CSS: body { } #grid_container { margin: 50px auto; width: 500px; height: 500px; padding: 10px; border: black solid 1px; } #grid { overflow:scroll; height: 100%; } .grid_row { clear: both; height: 50px; } .module, .header{ padding: 10px; float: left; border: gray solid 1px; }

  • Is it possible to align an element with the bottom of the window, yet make it scrollable, with CSS o

    - by last-child
    I have a design going on where I want to align the bottom of an intro paragraph with the bottom of the window, yet make it scroll with the rest of the page. So when the page opens, the visitor sees only the first paragraph (and a full screen background image, which is what I want to focus their attention on), but as they scroll they see the paragraph and the rest of the text. The height of the intro element can vary. Right now I think I have to introduce some javascript to do this - meassure the height of the window, the height of the paragraph, and adjust top: or margin-top of the paragraph to the difference between the two values. If there is a way to make a div have a height that corresponds exactly to the window height, and position the paragraph absolutely inside of this div, the let the rest of the text sit outside of the div, it could work... but I can't seem to make that happen with css. Any suggestions?

  • Setting the value of textboxes with one of their attributes (jQuery)

    - by Jimbo
    I have a bunch of input text boxes that have the attribute ORIGINAL set to their initial value, so that when the user changes the textbox value, jQuery can highlight items that have changed (by comparing the text box's current value to the ORIGINAL attribute's value) What Im trying to do now is provide the user with a button that they can click to revert all text boxes back to their original values based on the value of the ORIGINAL attribute of each text box. Example $('input[type=text]').val($(this).attr('original')); The above doesnt work and I dont understand why.

  • Difficulty with jQuery and input keydown event

    - by Rosarch
    I am making a simple JavaScript enhanced list. I want it to be a list of inputs, each with an 'Add' and 'Remove' button. If the user clicks 'Add', a new li will be added. If the user clicks 'Remove', that li will be removed. It works fine, except for hitting "enter" in an <input>. Currently, it always causes the Remove.click event handler to fire, unless there's only one item in the list. I'm not sure why. How can I suppress this? Here is the complete jQuery. My attempt to fix the "enter" issue is commented out, and it doesn't work. I suspect that I could be designing this code better; if you see an improvement I'd love to hear it. function make_smart_list(list) { var ADD_CLASS = 'foo-widget-Add'; var REMOVE_CLASS = 'foo-widget-Remove'; var jq_list = $(list); jq_list.parents('form').submit(function() { return false; }); function refresh_handlers() { jq_list.find(sprintf('.%s, .%s', REMOVE_CLASS, ADD_CLASS)).unbind('click'); // jq_list.find('input').unbind('submit'); // // jq_list.find('input').submit(function() { // var jq_this = $(this); // var next_button = jq_this.nextAll('button'); // if (next_button.hasClass(ADD_CLASS)) { // next_button.nextAll('button').click(); // return; // } // // if (next_button.hasClass(REMOVE_CLASS)) { // return false; // } // // }); jq_list.find("." + REMOVE_CLASS).click(function() { var jq_this = $(this); jq_this.parent().remove(); refresh_handlers(); return false; }); jq_list.find("." + ADD_CLASS).click(function() { var jq_this = $(this); if (jq_this.prevAll('input').val() == '') { return; } jq_this.parent().clone().appendTo(jq_this.parent().parent()); jq_this.parent().next().find('input').val('').focus(); jq_this.removeClass(ADD_CLASS).addClass(REMOVE_CLASS); jq_this.text('Remove'); refresh_handlers(); return false; }); } refresh_handlers(); } (sprintf is another script I have.)

  • Implementing prompts in text-input

    - by AntonAL
    Hi, I have a form with some text-inputs: login, password. If user sees this form the first time, input-texts should "contain" prompts, like "enter login", "enter password". If user clicks text-input, it's prompt should disappear to allow typing. I have seen various examples, that uses background image with prerendered text on it. Those images are appearing with following jQuery: $("form > :text").focus(function(){ // hide image }).blur(function(){ // show image, if text-input is still empty if ( $(this).val() == "" ) // show image with prompt }); This approach has following problems: localization is impossible need to pre-render images for various textual prompts overhead with loading images How do you overcomes such a problems ?
