• How get all calendar entries for a given using the Notes.Jar for Java

  I am working on a simple java code to extract all calendar entries for a given date. I know it possible using Domingo but I would like to use only Notes.jar for this purpose. It is possible for me to create a session based on a given credentials and get the calendar object. I am looking to extract the current running notes session and use that session object to open the calendar view in the mail file and start playing with it. But I am not able to get it working. Anybody have any idea or links on this ?

  I have modified the rebodex app so that it can be called from rebol's console any time by typing rebodex. • How to determine the Window size in IE for a window to be opened from the COM API?

  I'm using the IE control embedded in an application. Works as advertised. When a user opens a new browser window I intercept the NewWindow2 event and force it into a new tab. However for a certain class of windows I want to allow a popup. Most notably a few windows legacy applications that use popup windows instead of Ajax for Date or Name pickers. How can I figure out that a window was requested by JavaScript window.open(...) or with a specific size? Thx for helping.

I mean, i have a function that requires only native objects as arguments, for every other type of variable it throws an error. • Updates to NSDictionary attribute in CoreData not saving

  I have created an Entity in CoreData that includes a Transformable attribute type implemented as an NSDictionary. The NSDictionary attribute only contains values of a custom class. The properties of the custom class are all of type NSString. The custom class complies with NSCoding implementing: -(void)encodeWithCoder:(NSCoder*)coder; -(id)initWithCoder:(NSCoder *)coder When saving the Entity for the first time all attributes including the Transformable (NSDictionary) type are properly saved in the DB. When the same Entity is fetched from the DB and updated (including the Transformable attribute) it seems to be updated properly. However, when the app is closed and then reopened fetching the Entity does not show the updated Transformable attribute-type though the rest of the attributes of type NSDate and NSString are up-to-date. The Transformable attribute is the original saved value not the updated value. Is this a problem with KVO or am I missing something else when trying to save an NSDictionary filled with a custom class to CoreData?

  Sun's "Code Conventions for the Java Programming Language" was last updated April 1999. Ten years later a lot has changed in the language, as well as general usage patterns. Are there more up to date, widely adopted standards? Most guidelines omit specifying file encoding and line endings. Sun recommends mixed tabs and spaces. The Eclipse IDE defaults to Eclipse's standard, which is tabs only. The Maven style guide is spaces only. Many style guides, such as JBoss, follow Sun's guidelines, but prefer K&R braces instead of OTBS. Each Apache project has it's own style guide, with slight differences between each one.

• Is JAX-RS suitable as a MVC framework?

  JAX-RS has some MVC support, but I wonder if JAX-RS is really a good choice to build web application for human use. If a user enters wrong or incomplete information in a form, it should be displayed again like with Grails or Wicket. Is there a comfortable way to do this with JAX-RS? As far as I know the URI mapping doesn't work correctly, if not all required parameters are given or there are type conversion problems (with Date for example). Is that correct? Is there support for internationalized templates?

• TimeZoneInfo - why can't i seem to create an instance of it?

  I'm trying to use the EWS API to access an Exchange server from a console program i'm writing. I've specified the type of exchange server i'm connecting to but when I try to execute the code i have, it gives me Error 1 The type 'System.TimeZoneInfo' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Core, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. • Is there any legitimate use for bare strings in PHP?

  This question got me thinking about bare strings. When PHP sees a string that's not enclosed in quotes, it first checks to see if it's a constant. If not, it just assumes it's a string and goes on anyway. So for example if I have echo $foo[bar]; If there's a constant called bar it uses that for the array key, but if not then it treats bar as a bare string, so it behaves just like echo $foo["bar"]; This can cause all kinds of problems if at some future date a constant is added with the same name. My question is, is there any situation in which it actually makes sense to use a bare string?

• Having trouble using 'AND' in CONTAINSTABLE SQL SERVER FULL TEXT SEARCH

  I've been using FULL-TEXT for awhile but I cannot seem to get the most relevant results sometimes. If I have an field with something like "An Overview of Pain Medicine 5/12/2006" and a user types "An Overview 5/12/2006" So we create a search like: '"An" AND "Overview" AND "5/12/2006"' - 0 results (bad) '"Overview" AND "5/12/2006"' - 1 result (good) The CONTAINSTABLE portion of my query: FROM ce_Activity A INNER JOIN CONTAINSTABLE(View_Activities,(Searchable), @Search) AS KeyTbl ON A.ActivityID = KeyTbl.[KEY] "Searchable" is a field contains the activity title, and start date(converted to string) in one field so it's all search friendly. Why would this happen?

  I am trying to build a standalone qt application (built on ubuntu and deployed on Red Hat 5.3, both 64 bits) after building a qt application that is statically linked to the qt library I tried to run the program on red hat and got an error saying libc.so.6 was not found and that GLIBC_2.9 or GLIBC_2.10 is not installed and needed. I tried doing a yum install glibc but then I get a message saying that glibc is up to date (its version is 2.0) I guees I am going to restart the build process but this time from a red hat installation. What do you sugges I should do in this case. My goal is to build a standalone qt application that only needs to run on red hat 5 (im pretty sure there is also going to be an issue with fontconfig.so but I can simply provide this library directly in the same directory as the app)

• Django query: Count and Group BY

  I have a query that I'm trying to figure the "django" way of doing it: I want to take the last 100 calls from Call. Which is easy: calls = Call.objects.all().order_by('-call_time')[:100] However the next part I can't find the way to do it via django's ORM. I want to get a list of the call_types and the number of calls each one has WITHIN that previous queryset i just did. Normally i would do a query like this: "SELECT COUNT(id),calltype FROM call WHERE id IN ( SELECT id FROM call ORDER BY call_time DESC LIMIT 100 ) GROUP BY calltype;" I can't seem to find the django way of doing this particular query.   Hi, I'm done some WinForms work in C# but now moving to have to develop a web application front end in .NET (C#). I have experience developing web apps in Ruby on Rails (& a little with Java with JSP pages & struts mvc). Should I jump straight to MVC framework? (as opposed to going ASP.net) That is from the point of view of future direction for Microsoft & as well ease in ramping up from myself. Or if you like, given my experience to date, what would the pros/cons for me re MVC versus ASP.net? thanks

• Using a edit template without using Html.EditorFor()

  I have a date time picker combination in a edit template that can be used like Html.EditorFor(x = x.ETA) but now I want to use the same template somewhere where I don't have a model that contains a DateTime property. So I tried Html.Editor("DateWithTime", "Arrival") which uses the correct template, but doesn't assign a value to ViewData.ModelMetadata.PropertyName which is something that my template relies on. It sets the id of the textbox which is obviously important. Is there a way to render the template and assign a id value to the ViewData.ModelMetadata.PropertyName so I can re-use the logic in the template instead of having to copy it?

  Hi, I'm developing an app which has massive data entries. Its like Campaign which has attrs like rate_per_sq_feet, start_date, end_date. i.e it will have max date of around 30 days. Once the campaign is finished, its done and another starts. Now I'm confused that how to store those campaigns as reports so that its not accessed regurlarly. What I mean is to store in such a way that it will act like report on later years to come? Its something like fiscal year on accounts where the previous year reports are stored with all the calculations done so that when retrieved later, all the algorithms and calculations shouldn't be performed. Something like frozen data??

• Asp.Net MVC and ajax async callback execution order

  I have been sorting through this issue all day and hope someone can help pinpoint my problem. I have created a "asynchronous progress callback" type functionality in my app using ajax. When I strip the functionality out into a test application I get the desired results. See image below: Desired Functionality When I tie the functionality into my single page application using the same code I get a sort of blocking issue where all requests are responded to only after the last task has completed. In the test app above all request are responded to in order. The server reports a ("pending") state for all requests until the controller method has completed. • Apache deflate with chucked encoding

  I'm expiriencing some problem with one of my data source services. As it says in HTTP response headers it's running on Apache-Coyote/1.1. Server gives responses with Transfer-Encoding: chunked, here sample response: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1 Content-Type: text/xml;charset=utf-8 Transfer-Encoding: chunked Date: Tue, 30 Mar 2010 06:13:52 GMT And problem is when I'm requesting server to send gzipped request it often sends not full response. I recieve response, see that last chunk recived, but then after ungzipping I see that response is partial. So my question is: is it common apache issue? maybe one of it's mod_deflate plugins or something? Ask questions if you need more info. Thanks.

  Hello everyone! I'm trying to create annual, all-day events with VBA in outlook 2007. I use the following code, but no matter which conbination of Start, StartDate, End, etc I use, it won't create a whole-day event. Either it gives it default start/end times, or it remove the all-day attribute... Dim Birthday As Date 'Get the birthday '... Dim BDay As AppointmentItem Dim Pattern As Outlook.RecurrencePattern Set BDay = Application.CreateItem(olAppointmentItem) Set Pattern = BDay.GetRecurrencePattern Pattern.RecurrenceType = olRecursYearly Pattern.DayOfMonth = Day(Birthday) Pattern.MonthOfYear = Month(Birthday) Pattern.PatternStartDate = Birthday Pattern.NoEndDate = True BDay.AllDayEvent = True BDay.Subject = Contact.FullName BDay.Save When created directly in outlook, entries start on the birth day and end 24 hours later. Yet trying to set Start and End this way results in errors. Plus, entries created outlook have no start/end time in the recurrence pattern (well, they are all-day entries...) Ideas, anybody? Thanks!
